About this house rental
The house was built in 1803. It has been completely renovated with 5 big bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a wonderful porch overlooking the Sheepscott River, a dock for launching your Kayak and a kitchen with a table big enough for 12. The kitchen allows for groups to cook together. There is also a second, small kitchen off one of the bedrooms. The property has a small pond where ducks and other wildlife spend the early mornings. You are only minutes from WIscasset, a 20 minute ride from Boothbay Harbor, and a quick walk to the Fort Eddy overlooking Wiscasset. It is a perfect place for large families to gather and enjoy the Maine way of life. We do not allow pets or parties.

Our family of 10 (teens and young adults, their parents and grandparents) stayed a week at this home in July 2024. The two things that surprised us the most when we first arrived were that there was no air conditioning or TVs in the house. It ended up being ok because it was cooler the week we were there, they have a lot of fans to use and it was a peaceful visit without the TV blaring. The house is across a very quiet road from the water, but you can walk down to the water on their dock. The beds were comfortable. There is a large table that everyone could sit around. There are four bathrooms in the house - the bathroom on the third floor only has a tub (no shower). The house truly is antique, so you will find more spiders, less electrical outlets and more unusual features than in more modern homes. The porch is a great place to sit in the swing/rockers to watch the water. The owners were prompt in their communication and worked with us to fulfill all of our needs.

An amazing house with so much charm. Owners have stocked the kitchen for anything you may want to whip up.

The location of the property was perfectly located for all the activities that were planned during our stay. We were a multi-generational group and the property offered something for everyone!
The hosts were always quick to respond to my queries. They left a notebook for us with very helpful, clear information.
Sitting on the front porch mornings and evenings was something we all enjoyed. The fireflies were a highlight of our evening gatherings. We also enjoyed bird watching in the mornings.
My grandchildren loved looking for frogs in the pond! It was also exciting for them to see the two duck families parading across the lawn on their way to the pond. A fox also made several appearances.
Although it was not an issue for my group, the stairs to the bedrooms are quite steep so this place might not work for everyone. If stairs are not a problem then I would highly recommend this location!

Very clean. Great views. One bed too high to get into. Electric box top floor not safely covered to prevent children from harm. Some windows missing screens. Quiet neighborhood. Main concern is that no one at any time ever communicated the actual location of the residence. We had to figure it out. It certainly would be helpful to know where you are staying. Otherwise great experience.

Beautiful and historic!
Spent a lovely week in this historic gem of a house! The photos simply do not do it justice! Both the house and property are meticulously kept and you can really tell the owners put their heart and hardwork into it!
My family took advantage of everything the house had to offer, from the perfect location to the dock from which we fished and huge backyard where my son could play soccer for hours, to the grill which was put through its paces every night.
Would not hesitate to come back and spend every evening sitting on the deck watching the stars.

We had a multi generational family gathering and the house worked perfectly! Between games of monopoly, croquet and fishing on the dock, we all found something to do.
We took trips to Boothbay Harbor, Pemaquid Lighthouse, Damariscotta - and the house was perfectly sited for each excursion.
On our final full day we were all brave enough to jump in the river!
