The best of past and present are combined in this historic Victorian home, within easy walking distance of the beach as well as dining and shopping in charming downtown Pacific Grove. Or you may just want to relax on the backyard deck, porch or balconies, and watch the world go by.
This 2,000sf, 2-bedroom plus sleeping loft, 2.5-bath residence, exquisitely finished inside in updated Arts and Crafts fashion, blends vintage furnishings with sophisticated West Elm style. The pet-friendly home includes a fully fenced back yard.
In addition to being within a few minutes’ walk of downtown Pacific Grove, the house is within walking distance of the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row, and is also just 10 minutes from the world-class golf courses and restaurants of Pebble Beach®, and 45 minutes by car from the natural beauty of Big Sur.
The light-filled house contains photos and artwork reflecting Pacific Grove’s historic past, including a hand-painted tile mural in the kitchen that shows the home in its original ocean-side location.
The first floor includes a living room, dining room and kitchen, flowing together to create an ideal space for relaxing and entertaining. Hardwood floors are found throughout, with a beautiful Tiffany-style light fixture in the dining area over a mid-century table that seats six. The living room provides an area for conversation or reading, and includes a 36-inch HDTV.
An adjacent outside deck includes a gourmet gas grill, comfortable outdoor seating, and a fire pit table, a cozy place to gather for drinks or barbecuing.
The updated kitchen includes stainless steel appliances, including a gas range and a double oven, in addition to custom-made cabinetry and granite counter-tops. Down the hall is a convenient half-bath as well as a combination office and laundry room. Well-equipped for extended stays!

Bedroom #1 features a new king bed (2023) and a small sitting area, perfect for reading or watching the 42-inch TV. Two sets of French doors, leads to two balconies with bistro seating and ocean views, perfect spots to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening.
An en suite bath has two seashell-scalloped sinks, spacious vanity, custom tile work and a glass shower enclosure.
Bedroom #2 has a queen bed and antique armoire.
At the top of the stairs is a sleeping alcove with a day bed and pull-out trundle, which can be set up as one twin or two twins or be converted to a split king with foam topper. A 42-inch HDTV are available in the alcove as well.
Between the second bedroom and the alcove is a full bath with a tub-shower combination, custom tile work, and granite counter-top.
The home also has a powder room/half bathroom on the lower level near the living areas.
An attached single-car garage provides parking for one vehicle and ample storage for beach gear; additional parking is available on the street.
Small, well-behaved dogs are welcome with pre-approval, an additional pet fee and a signed pet addendum.
This home is a monthly rental and we request that all nights of your stay are within the same calendar month. Some exceptions may be possible, with the approval of our team and the homeowner. Extended stays are often possible.

The house is very nice in a great location and had everything we needed for our stay. The only thing that kept me from making 5 stars is the house is equipped with an eight zone sound system with controls in each room but none of them worked. We reported this to Sanctuary property management who said they would have someone call to set up an appointment to repair the next day. We never were contacted and the system never worked. Management never called to check on status.

This house does not disappoint! The location is perfect for walking to Monterey or Asilomar. It is light, bright, and has ocean views from multiple rooms.The home well-stocked with towels, bedding, and dishes. The kitchen is spacious and decently stocked--great selection of pots and pans. It was a wonderful month at Bliss by the Sea! My family will be returning next November.

Home was beautifully remodeled over 15 years ago. One of the nicest I have ever seen. Unfortunately it is showing signs of wear and tear and a general lack of routine maintenance. I left a list of recommended repairs before we left with Sanctuary. (I inspect buildings for our church properties in Morgan Hill. We will be renting again next year and we are hopeful repairs will have been made by then.

In our opinion, this home is not ready for prime time. Good bones, but weak condition. While we appreciate the responsiveness from Sanctuary, you may want to encourage the owner to make improvements. It took three requests and visits to fix 1st floor toilet. While the location is great, we were disappointed with the house. While we understand that homes along the coast age quicker, we are surprised by the lack of maintenance.

We loved the location of Bliss by the Sea. In just a half a mile walk, we were down to the coastal trail. Kitchen and bathroom supplies were so well stocked. Instructions for arrival and departure were clear. A special thank you to Susan, who was accessible and great to work with when we needed help with cable TV and outside grill issues! Two suggestions to the owner would be to upgrade the furniture in the living area and purchase a new outdoor grill and fire pit cover. Thanks!

Bliss By The Sea is perfectly located between Pacific Grove and Monterey (Cannery Row), a short walk to both. The property is very homey, professionally managed and well apportioned. It was perfect for out stay, and we would recommend it anyone looking for similar.

What an amazing property! The house was fantastic and just as described. The home was prepared so well for our stay! Felt like we were home the minute we arrived! Easy walk to beach and to town. Great location!

Great house in a wonderful location
We thought the house was great and met our needs. The kitchen was well equipped. The house had great instructions for the electronics and had lights labeled. The beds were very comfortable. It was unseasonably hot when we arrived and the house was 82 degrees. It would have been nice to know from the property manager that it didnt have AC. Once we found out the next day we realized that we needed to sleep with the windows open which is fine but there were no screens so some bugs made it into the house. Sanctuary said our Property Manager would get us some temporary screens but that did not occur and we never heard from him. It cooled off by Wed so it was fine. We did love the house but would have appreciated some communication from the Property Manager

The house is very clean, well-maintained, and very well stocked. Great location, close to the aquarium and other attractions. The decor is also very attractive. It's clear that the management pays attention to details. Definitely the best rental we've ever stayed at.

We enjoyed our stay at Bliss by the Sea!
The house was immaculate, very nicely decorated, and well stocked with linens and all the amenities we would need for our family of four. The location was perfect with an easy drive to Carmel and Monterey areas.
One suggestion might be to add two accent chairs in the master bedroom. It would be nice to have a place to sit other than on the bed while enjoying the views.
The only negative comments we have is the sofa and two chairs in the living room were not comfortable for our family. We are of average height & weight - there wasn't much cushion or a place to lean back. Also there was dog poop in the backyard that had not been cleaned up prior to our arrival and there were large spider webs on the deck. This didn't affect our stay much as it was too chilly to sit outside.
Sanctuary Vacation Rentals were top notch and easy to work with. The house manager made sure our needs were met and even followed up with an email and text message.
Would definitely recommend this property and we will be returning next year!

Appropriated named, Bliss by the Sea.
You truly feel like a welcomed guest in a good friend's home. Well-maintained. Lots of thought went into the decor with a beach-side theme. We enjoyed preparing meals in the kitchen as there is room for several cooks and most cooking implements you would have at your personal home, including a seasoned cast iron skillet! For four women from Texas, a cast iron skillet is a must!!
I do recommend reviewing the guest instructions book upon arrival. Many of your questions about appliances are answered there (like the dishwasher).
One suggestion might be to have a notebook with local restaurant menus for guests.
I truly hope to return one day.

Charming house by the sea
We absolutely loved staying here. It is such a charming house, beautifully decorated, plenty spacious for our family of six, and close to everything (within walking distance to the beach and you can see the ocean from the master bedroom windows).
On our early morning walks, we saw deer strolling through the neighborhoods and lots of whales and sea otters in the water! It is just minutes from Monterey and Carmel, and Pacific Grove is equally as charming. We wish we could have stayed longer and dream of returning!
The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because the kitchen windows were pretty dirty (obviously hadn't been cleaned before our arrival) and there were several spider webs in the kitchen and in a few other places throughout the house that we had to get rid of, but everything else was sparkling clean. There was also a car that was permanently parked directly out front of the house which was an annoyance more than anything else, but didn't really affect our stay at all. We very much appreciated many of the details that went into making our stay comfortable, such as cookies, cheese and crackers upon our arrival, bathrobes for most of us (would have appreciated six instead of just four), games for our family to play, movies, etc. The house has everything you will possibly need! I recommend without hesitation! Can't wait to someday return.
