We had a wonderful 19 days in this , spotless, typically Adirondack Cabin. Mrs. Rice could not have been a better host and attended to all our wishes. The cottage was spotless, the decoration very Adirondack and the location perfect for walking to the village of Long Lake. Thank you very much Linda.

Relaxing and peaceful stay

What a great relaxing time. Had some amazing campfires at night with beautiful start nights above then when it rained we had a few fabulous cozy days and evenings inside by the gas fireplace. Linda was very welcoming and everything was in order and very clean. Lots of dishes and utensils even wine glasses and a cork screw, thank goodness as I forgot mine. The furniture and beds were very comfy. The bedrooms are small but very well decorated and perfect for us. Great location!!! Walked to marina and rented a boat for a day. It was a well needed getaway.

Wonderful cabin, wonderful host. Five minute walk to Long Lake. We walked down every morning to soak in the beauty of Long Lake as the day was beginning.
Just right!

We had 8 wonderful nights at Pine Bear Farmhouse. This 2 bedroom cabin was perfect for our family and Linda and Bill were great hosts - very friendly and helpful. The cabin is clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything we needed including sheets and towels. They even provided some firewood for an outdoor fire in the fire pit. The location is very convenient for walking to everything in the town of Long Lake including the main beach, grocery store, shops, restaurants, and ice cream. We highly recommend this property and our lovely hosts.

We enjoyed the fire pit, the bbq grill and the kitchen. The cottage has a rustic feel and is just steps from Long Lake and the businesses there. Not a cold weather cabin but there is a heater.

Great place for two adults with two young kids. Nice layout and vibe. The cabin is conveniently located.
Long Lake is a very compact village that offers plenty to do, with localized amenities, without the crowds and tourist traps of Lake Placid.
Definitely enjoyed our vacation!

Great cabin
The cabin was cosy and wonderfully decorated to reflect an Adirondack stay, with lots of little touches everywhere you looked. The kitchen was impressively stocked with everything you could possibly need to cook there. Enjoyed the games, my teenager was especially happy with the chess set. Lots of room, cosy and comfortable, and well furnished. The hosts were friendly and shared some cherry tomatoes out of their garden. A really nice place to stay with a great location.

Feels like home
This was one of the best vacation experiences of my life.
Atmosphere was relaxed, both w/ property manager and the surroundings of the Adirondack Mountains. Linda and Bill went above and beyond in providing a friendly and welcoming experience. It just felt like “going home” Thank you both for a wonderful vacation!

Great spot!
Old fashioned cabin with lots of wood in the interior, made cozy by a propane fireplace that really heats up the house. Beautiful view from the porch over toward the mountains. You can see the lake through the trees. It’s a great location to visit Wild Center, or the Blue Mt Lake Museum, or hike trails or just sit and sing in the cabin.

Quaint Cabin in Long Lake
Linda and Bill were lovely hosts and extremely welcoming. They invited us on their boat and to their fire each evening. We were looking for quiet and solitude so we kindly decline their offers. The home is a decent size and the general location is very good for paddling, biking and hiking. But the online listing did not let on to the following details.
-The bedrooms are very small and barely fit the beds so nowhere to put bags and only one tiny nightstand per room.
-The cabin is about 20 feet from the owners home - in their rear yard so no privacy
-Front deck is a wonderful size but we were on open display from every window in the owners home and their driveway. We felt like we would be disturbing them by hanging out on the porch at night.
-Seaplanes takeoff across the street multiple times a day. It’s very loud.
-The house is old and needs a general updating. The interior of the home wasn’t dirty but just felt worn and extremely dated. There are repairs that need to be done on this home. The faux wood floor in the living room was poorly installed and had large bubbles that popped when you walked on the floor.
-Outdoor porch furniture was ancient and very uncomfortable. I had sweep the entire front porch of dirt and cobwebs before we could use the porch. Also, there is no lighting on the front porch so you cannot sit out there after dusk to read or eat
We really did have a nice stay at this cabin but it just needs a little more TLC and support to match the listing. Linda is lovely!

Great week stay!
We had a great week at the Pine Bear. The cottage is very close to town and many Adk attractions. We hiked, shopped and ate local. There was a nice beach in town and a close by boat launch. Linda was a great host and even shared veggies from her garden with us!

Lovely cottage
We lucked out with this one, what a beautiful cottage! Kids enjoyed playing with all the toys and games, and we loved the walking access to the town beach. Enjoyed evenings on the enormous porch or having bonfires looking at the gorgeous mountain views. We can’t wait to come back!

Great Cottage But ...
The cottage is great, clean and comfy. No problem there. However, the kayaks advertised had been sold and were no longer available. The "view of the lake" is a bit disingenuous as it is very minimal through the trees. The Wi-Fi was totally unsecured. Linda came to the cottage the first few days to talk about it but we never heard anymore about the problem being addressed. Seeing her response to another review, it was an ongoing problem, claiming to another earlier renter that it had been fixed. No one wants to use an unsecured Wifi. The ice maker quit the second day there and we were told we could buy ice in town. I understand things can happen, but some communication about fixing the issues or just letting us know that maybe that couldn't get a repair person immediately. Communication would have been helpful.

Wonderful cottage for our family and close to everything.
Our family had a magical time in Long Lake. The cabin is close to everything and had everything we needed. Our only regret is that we didn't book a longer stay!

Nice
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It has a spacious living, kitchen, dinning area nicely decorated. It was perfect for our needs. It was our first visit to the Adirondacks, highlights were Coney Mt, Buttermilk falls and a pontoon boat on the lake.

Family-sized cabin great for ADK adventure
My family went for a long weekend to the Adirondacks to start the Hamilton County Fire Tower challenge. Pine Bear Cottage was a great place -- a hop, skip, and jump to most of the fire towers. The cottage had everything we needed to prepare our meals and have fun together when we were not hiking. The recently-remodeled cottage was clean - no scary and dirty rooms or corners that one might imagine in older cabins. Two bedrooms, plus sleeping in the common room, worked out for my family. The kids fight and kick after 30 minutes of "settling down" in the same bed, but we try anyway, every time we go away... So we ended up using the second bedroom as a "staging" area for one child to fall asleep while we (parents) spent quiet time in the common room. Then at parent bedtime, we relocated that child to the sleeping area in the common room and it worked out quite well.
We are a "mountain and woods" family, not a "beach/water" family, so the sight of Long Lake down the hill made for a nice view, but we were in the trees (not at the water) and that made is happy.

Adirondack charm
This is a large well appointed rustic cottage. Plenty of room, easily accessible, large porch with view of the lake. Large TV lots of reading material especially about the lake and the history of the area. The host lives nearby on the property and is gracious and helpful.

Tidy and clean spot in a great location
Hosts are lovely, on site, and available. We loved the fire pit, the spaciousness of the cabin, the warmth of the propane heater which kept the whole cabin warm. It was a lovely get away at this time of pandemic.
In addition, the lakes and trails of the whole region are the main attraction. Adirondacks never disappoint!
