About this house rental
This beautiful modern 3000 sq ft Eco-Friendly home is nestled in the woods in a private setting with gorgeous, peaceful views. Located in the highly sought after Galena Territory, this getaway is under 1 mile from the Owner’s Clubhouse. This gives you full access to indoor/outdoor pools, indoor basketball court, fitness center, tennis courts, kid’s room, arcade, pool, ping pong and much more.
In the summer you and your guests can relax on the screened in porch with a Weber gas grill or enjoy a cool summer night in the brand new hot tub (2019). In winter, enjoy several outdoor activities including cross country or downhill skiing at nearby Chestnut Mountain, or simply cozy up to the gas fireplace in the home.
The home is located close to 4 professionally designed championship golf courses, 38 miles of hiking trails, Lake Galena, the Marina, the Owner's Club, General Store and Woodstone Restaurant.
Also located close by the Shenandoah Riding Center, Chestnut Mountain Ski Resort, and downtown Galena with many shopping and dining experiences.
This home has 5 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and can sleep 10-12 (there is a full size bed with twin trundle and a pull out sleeping pad in one of the bedrooms). The Master Bedroom is located on the main floor complete with a large bathroom including a gorgeous tiled shower and corner bath tub with private picture windows.
The downstairs floor offers 2 bedrooms, laundry room and game room. One bedroom zen themed, offers a king bed with private bathroom, whirlpool tub and rain shower head. The other bedroom offers a queen bed and a private bathroom with shower. The game room has a bar, 60” smart TV and an old school arcade with over 600 games in an original Asteroids cabinet.
The upstairs floor offers 2 bedrooms sharing a large bathroom with skylights and a huge tiled rain shower. The beach themed king bedroom has large windows and beautiful views of the private woods. The 2nd bedroom includes a full bed with a twin size trundle underneath. There is also a chair that folds out to a twin size sleeping pad. There is a 50” Smart TV along with an Xbox 1 and games making this the perfect hangout for kids!
The main floor offers a newly remodeled kitchen with custom cabinets and the kitchen island offers seating for 5. The kitchen opens up into a living/dining room area with vaulted ceilings, and skylights, reclining leather couches, 50” smart TV, a large fireplace and dining area with seating for 8 (more with additional leaf). Just outside the kitchen is the 3 Seasons porch with covered sitting area, a wraparound deck with a Weber grill and hot tub in a very private wooded setting.
This home is fully remodeled and eco-friendly. All bedding and towels are made from 100% organic cotton. All mattresses and pillows are made from earth-friendly materials. All cleaning supplies, laundry detergent and soaps are all natural, plant based and non-toxic. We only stock earth-friendly toilet paper, paper towels and napkins. Light bulbs are LED energy saving. All appliances and entry doors are energy star rated. The furnace, air conditioning unit and hot water heaters are all high efficiency models. The hot tub is the highest efficiency model you can purchase (We know there is nothing earth-friendly about a hot tub but we did our best here). All toilets and shower heads are water saving models. We have a 7 Step Reverse Osmosis Water Filter w/ Added Minerals so you can enjoy top quality water during your stay and avoid plastic water bottles.
This home is ideal for family/friend gatherings and has a terrific set-up with privacy for everyone having 5 bedrooms on 3 separate floors.

Rolling Hills of Galena
9 adults and 2 grade schoolers stayed in lovely Galena Territory for a mid Summer get away. We had a wonderful getaway from the flatlands of the typical Illinois geography to the rolling hills of Galena and all the territory had to offer. Plenty of space in the house and in the front yard for nighttime fires, family style dinners and even a meal or 2 in the historic Galena commercial district. The property offers access to a pool that's a perfect spot for the kids to break the Summer heat and still laze around for the adults that don't want to be splashed. Curtis communicated early and often along the way, checking in upon our arrival and sharing clear instructions on how to best enjoy our stay in his home. We would look to come back to this home for future group trips.

Great house
We have stayed at many vrbo properties and this by far was one of the cleanest. Curtis was easy to communicate with and had left clear instructions about expectations with the property. The home is located close to Galena, and is beautifully nestled towards the back of the property surrounded by beautiful trees. We would highly recommend the property for large groups. Even having 10 occupants, the house is built well enough so that when the bedroom doors are closed, noise from the main living area is blocked out...a really important detail if you're traveling with children who go to bed earlier than the rest of the group!

Amazing property
We rented the house for a week for a much needed pandemic getaway. The house is at the end of a quiet cul de sac. We had a great time hiking, watching movies, making s’mores and relaxing. Curtis was a great host. Thank you.

Long weekend getaway
The house definitely exceeded our expectations - the pictures don't quite do it justice. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. It was clean, modern, fun, roomy, comfortable and perfectly sufficient to ensure my family had a great time. The amenities that we enjoyed the most include the location, scenery, privacy, hot tub, game room, comfortable living room and high end bathrooms. It was a decadent / luxurious experience for sure and the owner was very helpful and accommodating. Will stay there again and again in our visits to this scenic paradise!!!

Fantastic
We stayed over Labor Day weekend at the house and loved it! There was plenty of room and sleeping space for 6 adults and 6 kids. There is a lot of room outside whether on the screened in porch or the outdoor porches. The house is in the heart of the Galena Territory and a short drive to the clubhouse and its pools. Plenty of fun inside the house as well with a foosball game and a full size arcade machine loaded with over 600 games from back in the day.
Curtis was an excellent and responsive owner who was available the entire time. A great weekend and our whole family would recommend this house.

Lovely woodland property for a family gathering!
This property is great for a multi-family retreat with kids. Plenty of privacy with on suite bathrooms, and the lower level arcade game was a HUGE hit. Open kitchen/dining/loving room were perfect for large but informal family meals, and we even enjoyed the hot tub! It's close enough to the owners club to be a long walk for bigger kids but we had little ones with us so we drove. Kids and kids-at-heart all enjoyed the owners club pool. We had a few questions and the owners were very responsive! Would stay here again for a family or group gathering, any season.

The perfect stay
Had my bachelorette party hosted here and it was amazing! The pictures don’t do it justice. Beautiful property as well as inside the house. Very cozy and homey feeling.
Slept 12 of us.
Only minor issue was finding the garbage place was kind of inconvenient. The address on the directions given had a different street number... so when we typed it in it brought us to someone’s house. We figured it out though!!
All in all amazing stay and very happened I found this place. Owner is extremely nice and checked in with us to make sure all was well

Fun weekend with friends
Our group of 11 had a great stay at this home. We had excellent communication with the homeowners and enjoyed a thoughtful welcome basket upon our arrival, complete with info about the home and a few snacks to enjoy during our stay.
A couple details that would make this property even better: bath mats for stepping onto after a shower, side table lamps for nighttime reading, and a few extra tools in the kitchen (tongs).
Otherwise, we enjoyed the layout of this home and the Galena Territiries amenities.

Beautiful spacious home is perfect for family gathering or couples getaway!
This very inviting home had loads of room, plenty of privacy and was very family friendly when I vacationed here recently with my children and grandkids. We loved the hot tub, grill and fire pit at night and really appreciated the convenience of being so close to town to shop during the days! The Owners Clubhouse is very nice, it has indoor & outdoor pools and multiple activities for the kids plus it’s less than a mile away from the house. The house itself has so much living space with a screened-in porch, game room, large yard and two outdoor decks in addition to the 5 bedrooms. With the kids we ate in for breakfast and the kitchen is set up nicely & well equipped. Also worth mentioning that the laundry facilities are fabulous, so nice to go home from vacation with clean clothes for a change! I would highly recommend this property, my family loved their stay and is already checking their calendars about dates for next summer! Thanks for the memories!

Family get away weekend
A perfect house to enjoy time with our kids and grandkids. Plenty of room in the house for the ten of us. We took advantage of the hot tub, grill and pools. House is close to downtown Galena where we spent time enjoying the shops and wine festival.

Great place for a group!
Beautiful place. The beds and linens was incredibly comfortable. House was perfect for a group hangout, plenty of space to make meals and relax. The hot tub was awesome.
Two minor things to mention for others who are looking to stay here:
There is really only bed space for 10 people comfortably. We ended up having a friend able to join last minute which put us at 11 people and he had to sleep on a pad on the floor, not very comfortable.
Other thing to note is that you have to take the trash and recycling to a place over a mile away. If you don’t take it there and leave any garbage in the house there is a fee of $50. Sort of a pain, especially since there is a cleaning fee in the original cost.
These were really not an issue in our enjoyment of the house, just want others to be aware in case they are looking to stay with a larger group. We all would stay here again and would recommend for others.

You won't want to miss this wonderful house in an area full of fun activities and nature!!
Booking Woodland Estates was one of the best things we have done. Our couples’ group likes to go on vacations together and look around for places where the whole group can enjoy time together. There is also enough variety of things to do that smaller groups can explore their interests. This place fit the bill perfectly. Each of the five couples felt that they had comfortable bedrooms with luxurious bathrooms, and the shared areas were open and spacious.
The passes to the Owners’ Club were used frequently by those who liked to swim and workout. Our friends who enjoy pickle ball were excited that courts were available. The pool and ping pong tables were also a lot of fun.
Dining opportunities were plentiful with the Woodstone Restaurant close by and ample choices in Galena, just a short trip away. Preparing meals as a group is a favorite activity of ours and the setup in the kitchen/dining area was ideal for a large group. The kitchen was well stocked with new appliances and kitchen tools and the counter space made preparation easy. The views from inside along with the patio and 3 season room were breathtaking with the thick woods and wildlife. Sitting in the hot tub and enjoying the scenery was also a highlight.
The surrounding area provided a wide variety of activities that our group enjoyed. The marina was used by the couple who brought their boat. We made good use of the elaborate trail system in the Galena Territories and in some of the surrounding wildlife areas.
We were also impressed with the care that was put into making the home comfortable and eco-friendly. Everything in the house was in excellent condition and tastefully decorated. No one wanted to leave at the end of the stay because the setting and home were so serene and we all felt refreshed.

We all loved this beautiful up to date home. Everyone had a private bedroom with their own bathroom. We stayed with 3 other couples so this was perfect! House was fully stocked (which I wasn’t expecting) and Curtis was very accommodating and helpful! I highly recommend this rental home.

We had a fantastic family friendly gathering here!
The house was perfect! Clean and well stocked. We love the large, open hangout space and kitchen with a screened in porch off the kitchen. Everyone was comfortable in their own rooms with bathrooms and we hung out on the deck and in the yard a lot. Curtis is above and beyond accommodating and friendly. He as available to answer and questions. We easily utilized the Captains Club facilities. We will be back!
