You're gonna love your Kona Reef Beachfront getaway. Imagine the big smile on your face when you walk through the door of this freshly renovated, top-floor, jewel of a condo... a place you get to call your Kailua-Kona "home" away from home.
What's not to love? You can enjoy the "local-style" ambience and convenience of the in-town walk-to-everything location, while being in an oceanfront complex with a great ocean view. The public beach right next door is super convenient for swimming, snorkeling and surfing. From sunbathers to yoga classes, to picnics and people-watching, the view from your top-floor lanai provides a different beach scene every day.
You'll be charmed by the beachy, eclectic, tropical decor -- a blend of retro "Hawaiiana" with a touch of understated whimsy. Enjoy the top-quality finishes, selected to convey a simple warmth as well as durability. Split-system Air Conditioning installed Dec. 2020 keeps both living room and bedroom cool. The expanded kitchen features bamboo cabinets, white "cloud-like" quartz countertop, art glass backsplash, and shell mosaic pendant lighting. The bathroom was inspired by the colors of sand and sea, and has a custom walk-in shower that features a rain head, bamboo glass panel and handy corner seat. Your top-floor lanai is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing breakfast, or watch the waves and beach activities. The condo comes equipped with back-pack style beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach towels and more for your convenience.

o Elevator access from parking garage to the patio level. (You have to walk several paces from the elevator, then up 8 stairs to the condo level. If you require "no stairs", unfortunately, my condo is not a good choice for you).
But as much as you will enjoy the amenities of the condo, (... did I mention the super-comfy, firm memory-foam, gel-top king-size mattress?...) you didn't come all the way to Kona to stay indoors! There is so much to do and see. You'll want to spend some of your time chillin' at the oceanfront swimming pool. We have one of the nicest pool/recreation areas in town--with plenty of lounge chairs, whirlpool spa, barbecues and shady pavilion.
Kona Reef has one of the most convenient locations on the Kona Coast, and is just a short walk to shopping, restaurants, bars and entertainment.
It is a 5 to 10 minute walk to:

About the Air Conditioning:
2-unit split system installed December 2020 for your creature comfort! There is a wall unit in the living room and another one in the bedroom. Super quiet! There are also ceiling fans and standing fans if you prefer to experience the ambient temperatures. It's all about what you're used to. ALSO: Due to the high cost of electricity in Hawaii, when you leave the apartment for extended periods of time, turning off the AC is greatly appreciated.

This place was as good as if not better than advertised. Pictures are accurate, everything we needed was provided, cooking utensils, cookware as well as items in the bathroom. Communication was very easy. The entire complex was clean with two covered garages and an open parking lot. The biggest thing for me when looking for a place on the Hawaiian islands is the AC. This place has two split AC's, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. I can't stress how important AC is to me. Because of the high prices of electricity it is requested not to run the AC while not in the condo. I was skeptical about doing that but honored the request. We turned off the AC and spent the entire day on the Hilo side of the island, from about 9am until 7pm and when we returned it was still cold inside. From that moment on I had no problem turning the AC off while we were out exploring the island. We walked from the condo to shop and eat on Ali'i Drive which can save you a lot of money because parking is very expensive. Our view on the lanai was fantastic. We were always in the shade regardless of the time of day. I noticed other places on Ali'i Dr that faced the west had direct sunlight into their places which can be hot and also explained why I hardly saw anyone enjoying their lanai during the day. That was not the case at this place. Always comfortable on the lanai. Btw, the sunset was beautiful from the grounds. When we return to the Big Island this will be the first place we look for.

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay during our recent trip to Kona! A clean and cool condo, a semi-firm yet really comfortable bed, and easy parking in a great (and walkable!) location means we will hopefully stay here again! Downtown Kona is only a 15ish minute walk or less than $10 Uber/lyft ride away and you can get anywhere on the island in under two hours, which made for some great day trips! The host was always super responsive to any questions and we had everything we needed and more (including beach towels, a dishwasher, and beach chairs!). Add me as another very happy client who can’t wait to come back and stay again!

Excellent condo, walking distance from town, with a beautiful ocean view. There is a very good surf spot immediately in front of the condo complex.
The condo, and particularly the kitchen, was very well stocked and all equipment worked, The host even provided a bottle of champagne in recognition of our anniversary trip.
We would definitely stay here again when visiting the Big Island.

Super easy booking & check-in process. Marni reached out ti see if we needed anything and provided some great tips on where to get some fresh poke! The condo was very clean and fully stocked. Furniture was comfortable and so was the bed! Nice location with a sandy beach right beside the condo and a great pool/ BBQ area that we enjoyed almost every day. There was a bit of road noise from Alii Drive from time to time but it wasn’t a major issue and was only noticed when sitting out on the lanai.
Would highly recommend this condo and we look forward to our next visit.

Being right on the shore with the waves lapping in the near background. Tropical breezes. Accommodating hosts are very responsive to any requests. 5-star in every way for a fairly priced Hawai'ian getaway!

Very nice Condo with a lot of attention to detail. Well stocked with everything you need. View is amazing. A lot of noise off the road behind the condo, but didn’t take away from the unit.

Clean, Cute, sufficient supplies for kitchen, bath, bedding, Laundry, beach Gear. Nice View. Nice Lanai. Nice Location just at the end of the strip. Good Cooling with A/c & Fans. The common areas with the pool, jacuzzi, Grills, & cabana is nice to have.

The unit is modern, comfortable and has everything you need for a great vacation. It overlooks a small sandy beach and the sound of the surf can be heard day and night. We both enjoyed our stay there.

We spent a wonderful two weeks. The owner has not missed any details in her guidebook. The location is within walking distance to shopping and restaurants so you don't worry about finding a parking place. The condo is well stocked with anything you would need for a day at the beach. Morning coffee on the lanai watching the surf roll in is a great way to start your day. The two air'-conditioning units worked very well. You can not go wrong staying here.

We stayed at Kona Reef during the Ironman World Championships and absolutely loved this condo! It was clean, comfortable and in the absolute PERFECT location. We walked to town many times per day and my husband loved spending his time on the lanai watching the surfers. We would absolutely stay here again! Thank you, thank you for your hospitality!!

The condo was decorated as casual coastal which was perfect for us. There were many thoughtful items included such as boogie boards and a folding drying rack we could hang our swimsuits on, sunscreen, and sunburn gel. The washer and dryer were invaluable as we packed light and used the beach towels often! The community pool area was family friendly and the ocean front lawn was nice to watch the sunset from.

Wonderful facility and very convenient to all places in Kona. Very comfortable and clean with updated kitchen and bathroom. The owner supplied everything needed for the week.

We really enjoyed our stay in this unit. The location is great with just a short walk to downtown Kona, and an easy drive to beaches and snorkeling sites south of Kona. The kitchen is well stocked with spices and oils and things like plastic wrap, utensils, pots/pans, etc which made it easy to cook on a few of the evenings during our stay. Also, the unit had beach chairs, beach towels, a cooler, beach umbrella, snorkel gear, etc which was great to have when going to hang out at the beach. The lanai overlooks the small beach and ocean just to the south. Also nice that they bedroom had a separate AC unit rather than just a single unit in the main living area. It feels like the unit was recently renovated as the counters, bathroom, and plumbing fixtures seemed updated. Overall a great unit and we would definitely stay here again.

Here is what I loved: OH MY GOSH! there was everything. I totally overpacked. There was shampoo/ conditioner/laundry soap/ beach towels, shoes, hat, beach chairs, along with a most homey, comfortable home to stay in. Loved the location; right on a beach (we saw turtles in the water), close enough to walk to town, yet quiet area. Great communication from Marni. I would come back!!

Marni's unit doesn't miss a beat. Beautiful unit true to photos. All guest needs covered including all the beach gear, multi USB ports on both nightstands, fully stocked kitchen including Tupperware, paper products. A full Brita pitcher waiting in fridge! Some appliances and all switches labeled too.
We've stayed at Kona Reef a few times. We were excited to see air conditioning was added to both the living room and bedroom. But you know what? We didn't need it! Ceiling fans, lanai screen and fan worked perfectly! Most comfortable stay.
Informative guest book, too, about unit and area restaurant updates.

Marni’s place is wonderful.
She was easy to communicate with. The condo is in a great location right on the beach and at the south end of the historic village. The lodging was clean, comfortable and attractive. Everything there you need: dishes, cups and glasses, kitchen ware, large coffee pot, large fridge, towels, comfortable bed, nice furniture, nice TV. Wifi was excellent. Comfortable lanai perfect for morning coffee or winding down at night. Fins, snorkels, ice chest, beach towels. She has thought of everything. Perfect headquarters to explore and enjoy the Big Island.
Next time we come, we will stay here.

Everything as advertised! Great location in Kona. Many restaurants within a 5 minute walk. We had a great time exploring the island all day and spending the evenings watching the sunset from the open air seating at many of the restaurants.
Would love to come back and stay here again!

We were visiting Kona for the first time. The condo was very nice and comfortable. Fully equipped with everything you could need. Beautiful view of the ocean. Marni was easy to communicate with and answered questions quickly. The condo was on the south end of the main street along the beach. Far enough not to hear all the bar music at night but plenty close to walk to it if we wanted. Road noise can get a little loud but wasn’t too bothersome. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.

We loved staying here. The view of the ocean and sound of the waves was fantastic. As a bonus, we overlooked Honl Park where every day there was yoga, people playing in the surf, boogie boarders, kids having fun and colorful people of all sorts. Marni was wonderful. The few minor glitches we encountered, she attended to immediately. Thank you!

The location is fantastic! Close enough to walk but far enough that you don’t feel like you’re in the thick of the town and tourists.
Head out to the pool to watch the sunset and hear some residents blow conch shells.
The place itself is super comfortable for two people and Marni is an awesome host!

We had a great stay, it was a perfect little place for my wife & I to celebrate her 50th birthday. Beach right off the balcony & a close walk to waterfront dining & shopping. Had a great time & the host even left us some chocolate covered macadamia nuts & coffee for staying. Very sweet! The only complaint we had is that we couldn’t stay longer. Excellent condo right on the ocean. Short walk to town. Marni thought of everything you might need to make your stay feel like home. Personalized condo feels like a beach house. Comfy bed, living space. Lots of towels and bedding and a washer and dryer. Kitchen well equipped for cooking. with oil, spices, foil, Saran, baggies etc. Beach chairs, umbrella, coolers, boogie boards and snorkel equipment make going to the beach for the day a breeze. Beautiful outdoor spaces with your lani and large pool and bbq area to enjoy. Would love to go back. I could spend the winter in this condo.
