It was clean and well prepared
It was by the side of the road and even though it said sound proof it was not. However the owner offered us another room which was a little less noisy

East check-in, quality location and rooms. Warm welcome from the owner and what I assumed were her 2 children.
I also had 2 dogs with me which were no trouble at all for the owner.

fascinating historic building and location .
original tiled floor and clever use of railway fittings . easy access to both beach and old town . lovely roof terrace !
fabulous breakfast on the railway platform , very cool ! fresh orange juice , fab coffe , tostadas !! 🙏🏻
there was nothing we didn’t like . as it is next to a railway , some people may not like it !Also , the bar and kitchen close at 4 pm so ,be mindful about that !!

There was one young lady which was great. She was the housekeeper when we arrived and the waiter next day for breakfast. She was great.
No staff on premises. Only on call. Room was too tiny. AC didn’t work properly. Room was extremely small.

I liked everything about the property. The building has more than 100 years old but it is fully renovated and has lots of old details. Alex gave us a tour explaining us the full history. The room is very comfortable and you well insulated as you cannot hear noise from outside.
The breakfast is the best, fresh made and bake you have a lot of choices.
It is on a perfect location as you can walk to the city center in 5min and the beach just across the road.
NOTHING.

Excellent location, beautiful room with very comfortable bed. Breakfast was freshly made and delicious
Staff couldn’t do enough to help
No facilities in the room to make tea or coffee and the restaurant closes at 4pm so no drinks available
The fridge was very noisy !

The place is nicely renovated.
The first night there was no air conditioning, the fridge wasn’t working and we had nobody attending until 11.30 at night. The problems were not solved until the following afternoon. We were told that breakfast starts at 8 am but it still wasn’t open at 8.15am and we had to leave.

We only had one night, it was a good location for the sea front & the old town, although a steep walk to the old town but we knew that. It was unusual in the fact that it was next to the tramline but not noisy & the breakfast was on the platform a first for us.
Is was very basic but we knew that. A small fridge next to the bed that was noisy so I just unplugged it.

great location, characterful property, delicious breakfast, free parking very close to property
room a little small and limited storage. Also, light stayed on in hallway which kept bedroom lit up through the night

I liked EVERYTHING. It is a beautifully restored hotel, with the floor tile preserved. Very beautiful. You feel apart of history. Alex, who manages
the hotel is very personable. I was traveling solo and I felt well taken care of, like family.
The rooms are nicely decorated. Alex and his wife and the entire staff are very professional, friendly and full of good suggestions. I highly recommend the Breakfast and Lunch. Muy Fantastico. The art work is by local artists and students. I was not there on a Friday evening, but they have models who pose for students and guests to paint. sound fun to me. The location is close to the beach and central Plaza.
I liked everything

Friendly welcome and comfortable room.
Excellent breakfast the following day.
It wasn't a problem for us but the road was outside the room so may not be to everyone's liking because of cars that started going by quite early.

The hotel is an lovely little boutique hotel which is actually on the Altea Tram station. We arrived and left by train, so bang on.
the owner Alex is lovely and friendly and is on hand to help out.
the hotel has lots of new art everywhere as it has links with the locally uni.
the rooms were modern and clean with a great bathroom
the breakfast was great which was had on the cantina adjacent
the only downside was road noise as its on the main road

The location was great. You could have come by train and been within your hotel room within a couple of minutes. The one member of staff was helpful, trying to get the TV working bilingually.
They are trying to run a hotel with one shift member most of the time. At breakfast this was a disaster. There was one member of staff running the cafeteria, which doubles as the railway station bar. If a rail passenger arrived, they would get served first. Each day often it took about an hour to an hour and a half between ordering breakfast and receiving it. This ate into our site-seeing plans every day we were there. Come on, there are thousands of unemployed in Spain, employ some of them.

A delightful converted heritage building providing a comfortable & unique stay in an ideal location to enjoy the best of Altea.
Alex is the charming host providing local information & recommendations of places to visit.
Breakfast, served in the Cantina on the station platform and prepared by Alex, uses good quality ingredients which are well cooked & beautifully presented.
I would recommend anyone visiting Altea to consider a stay at Gran H 1920.
