A: Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate early check-ins -- as it will not allow our housekeeper enough time to fully prepare the home for you.

Q: WHAT TYPE OF WEATHER SHOULD I EXPECT ON MY TRIP?
A: PLEASE COME ADEQUATELY PREPARED!!! Be sure to check the local forecast for weather conditions. In the fall & winter months expect fog, rain, sleet and snow. Roads can be very icy, and the owners cannot be responsible for weather or driving conditions.
Q: DO I NEED TIRE CHAINS ON MY VEHICLE?
A: During the SNOW season it is wise to carry snow chains. CHP requires possession of chains/cables when traveling mountain roads in icy conditions. Chains can be purchased at the base of the mountain near Highland Avenue & Hwy 330 at the Super Walmart.
*Be sure to get the right size for your tires.
Q: WILL I HAVE TO SHOVEL SNOW?
A: YES! Our neighborhood road is plowed by the county - but our driveway, steps, and deck are not. *Guests are responsible for removing snow should it snow during their stay.
**
In snowy conditions, CHAINS MAY BE REQUIRED for access up the mountain and for driving on mountain roads. Be sure to check weather and road conditions by contacting CalTrans, the National Weather Service, etc.
* We do not extend refunds due to weather conditions, road closures, driver's abilities or vehicle limitations.
* Mountain weather requires shoveling snow. Guests will be responsible for shoveling steps, the deck, a place to park and shoveling a path to and from the cabin.
* Snow shovels are located on the cabin deck -- shoe/boot chains are highly recommended when conditions are snowy and icy.
** BE SURE TO COME ADEQUATELY PREPARED**
Q: IS THE PROPERTY ISOLATED?
A: The Property is located in a mountain community and is surrounded by neighboring cabins. The community itself is surrounded by forest.
** To reduce risk of wildfire during severe weather conditions, Southern California Edison reserves the right to temporarily cut electrical service to its customers, and we have no control over that. Our guests understand that there will be no refunds for power outages or internet/Wi-Fi interruptions and that they'll happily accept the unlikely inconvenience for the sake of preserving our forests!
**NOISE DISTURBANCES - Please be respectful of all neighbors. Noise travels easily in the mountains & we ask that our guests be respectful of the full-time residents that live nearby. Your reservation is for a quiet, relaxing & enjoyable stay!
**MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY - Please specify the correct number of guests when requesting/booking a reservation. This cabin is strictly for the specified number of guests on the reservation booking and maximum occupancy is strictly enforced.
Q: CAN I INVITE MORE PEOPLE THAN THE MAXIMUM ALLOWED LISTED?
A: Maximum occupancy does not only refer to the number a home can sleep, this is also the number of people allowed in the home at any given time. It is determined by the licensing authority based on the number of exits in the home and fire safety codes.
**San Bernardino County has codes that are strictly enforced. Be sure to abide by the maximum occupancy number for the home at ALL times.
**IF YOU DO NOT ABIDE BY THESE CODE ENFORCEMENT POLICIES:
- Your reservation will be immediately cancelled.

Charming house
This is a charming house with 4 bunks in one bedroom and a Queen bed in the other bedroom. It fit our family perfectly!
Easy to find, kitchen had everything one needs, clean space; close to many snow attractions, quiet area, good communication with the host, heater works great, adventure passes are helpful make sure to get them before you head out since parking along the roads requires the pass.
Wine and chocolate was a lovely touch!

PERFECTION!!!
PERFECTION!!! The bad: We never knew Patricia & David's Alpenglow Cabin existed. The good: We stayed at Patricia & David's Alpenglow Cabin!!! And we LOVED it!!! We have been renting cabins in the Arrowhead and Big Bear areas for decades, as far back as the early 60's when our parents took us up there. Some rentals have been in the higher-end price range, and although most were beautiful, they were massive with little seating areas, and they never felt comfortable, ever. And, we've always wondered where that cleaning fee goes, probably hidden underneath all the dust balls and unchanged sheets. As for Patricia & David's cabin... It's not 5 out of 5, it's 100 out of 100! One of the smaller cabins we've stayed at for our family of 4, but we chose it on one picture alone, that single image of the living room with the generous seating area (and comfortable we might add, heck, the whole place was comfortable!!!). You do not have to go through a management company to get the keys, you simply receive the code and you're in. And once you're in, have to say... out of the 100+ cabins we've rented over the years, Alpenglow was without doubt, THE most welcoming cabin, short of the owners being there. No BS. You're greeted by two wine glasses, a bottle of wine, hot cocoa sitting neatly inside 2 mugs, and an assortment of chocolates. Then as you stroll through the kitchen, you walk by another basket that says enjoy, filled with tea, more hot cocoa, and microwave popcorn. And the place is SERIOUSLY clean! The mountain of towels in the hallway are thicker than most good hotels. The fact that they supply a trashcan behind the cabin for you to use, saving you a trip to a dumpster like most other rentals is crazy appreciated. Heater actually heats cabin evenly and doesn't scorch just one room like most cabins. The front deck has a great seating area, lit with strings of lights, and we'd hang out there after our mountain bike rides at Snow Valley. Our boys were stoked just to hang out, that says a lot. And if you choose to watch TV, it's already set up and logged into Netflix, Disney +, whatever you want. WiFi worked great. They even have Adventure Passes for you to borrow. Communication was super fast, friendly, and personal. The effort Patricia & David go through to make sure their guests are welcome is alive and well, and it's called Alpenglow. We've had some great experiences through VRBO, this one was FANTASTIC!!! THANKS!!!

Excellent retreat
We had an excellent 3 night stay at this lovely and cozy Alpenglow cottage. David and Patricia were very accommodating and available for any issues and questions we may have. Great location, excellent suggestions, and lovely bottle of wine to welcome us. Will definitely be back!!

Great family mountain getaway!
This cabin is so cute, clean, beautifully decorated, and well appointed with furniture and kitchen supplies, making it really functional and comfortable. My kids (2 and 4) loved the room with 2 bunk beds and the gated deck. The deck is so peaceful with pretty tree views, and string lights give it a great ambiance in the evening. Wonderful communication with the very welcoming hosts, who give such helpful suggestions about the area, not to mention adventure passes for free access to local hikes! All in all, a cozy and lovely spot for a young family of 4 to enjoy the mountains, thank you!

Great cozy cottage
We wanted a quick getaway to the mountains and this was perfect. My kids loves the bunk beds and playing in the yard. A quick walk to Antler Inn to pick up dinner, or quick drive to Blue Jay for groceries and more restaurants.

Clean and Cozy!
We spent 3 nights at the cabin with our family of 5. When we arrived we were so happy to open the door to a clean, well decorated cabin! The lights were left on for us, too! Our kids loved playing catch on the long driveway and loved the bunk room (stocked with kids books!) The kitchen is stocked with cook/bakeware and everything worked great. The hosts were quick with responses and provided a list of fun outings. We enjoyed using their trail passes around Lake Arrowhead. We look forward to another visit in the future!

Fantastic stay!
This cabin was perfect for our family getaway! The owners of this property are so meticulous! Very clean and tidy! The kitchen was perfectly stocked and had everything we needed and then some! My kids loved the bunk beds. We had a great time exploring the lake and going on a hike and it was so nice to be able to come back and relax on the very large deck outside. I would recommend this property and the owners over and over again. The owners are so responsive and provided us with tons of details about the house and the area.

Great find!
We were looking for a place where a few of our church group leaders could stay for labor day weekend, as the group camp was overbooked. Patricia & David bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed! And at a great rate too! Just what we were looking for.

Perfect and simply amazing
Personally I do a lot of camping traveling and have stayed in multiple different types of cabins that set fun filled expectations and list tons of amenities that don't live up to the hype. Patricia and David's cabin is the exception and was truely amazing. Their hospitality was beyond excellent, the cabin was clean, homey, spacious, and very private. The cabin exceeded all expectations and will definitely be on my list of places to return to. Thank you guys for an amazing experience.

Beautiful
My husband and I enjoyed our honeymoon here! It was beautiful inside and out. Convenient to everything around us. They were able to accommodate us into checking in a bit earlier and it all worked out great! The list of things to do that they provided was very helpful since we’re not from the area, we basically did all of it on there. It was a nice touch that they left us sparkling wine to celebrate. Would recommend to anyone!

The Perfect Place
This home was so much more than we expected. The pictures are great, but they do not do it justice. The owners have taken the time to decorate it so beautifully, but it is not over bearing. It is quaint and quiet. I loved being able to open the windows to let fresh air in-you can so easily smell the pine!
The home was perfect for our children. They especially loved the bunkbeds. There was nothing that I was concerned about my toddler breaking which was a huge relief-I did not want to have to chase her every second to make sure she was not damaging something.
The location is close enough to shopping and dining locations and we spent a day in the city viewing museums. We also took a quick day trip to Long Beach so the kids could play a little by the ocean.
The best thing for me was having an option to cook for my family. We were on a budget and we did not want to eat out every night so that was a life saver! We had all the dishes and utensils we needed and did not have a need for anything.
You will love this home, whether that be for just yourself or a family!
