The Rockland home was spotless and we were welcomed with a note and flowers from the host and hostess. The refrigerator was stocked with drinks that the we had requested. The host was available to answer any questions and provided us with information about restaurants and places to visit. The house is located within walking distance to the harbor and town. I highly recomend a vist to Rockland and this welcoming home.

The house is immaculate. Grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. Easy walking distance to downtown, harbour and all amenities.
There are stairs, which we are used to, but I mention it as some may have mobility issues. The house is 19th century, and it’s bones reflect this. It has been updated with modern touches, without destroying its essential character.

Although the location of this home was ideal to downtown, wharf, and restaurants, it’s in a very busy street which is noticeable when in the home. We tried to sleep with the windows open but the traffic was too loud so we had to resort to putting on the AC which was not ideal. The large trees that shield the front of the house also don’t allow light in the front of the house causing it to be dark and uninviting.
I think the owners should be upfront in the description of the home.
With that said, the home was comfortable and the few requests that we had during our stay were responded to quickly.
Great places to bike and walk to restaurants, downtown, wharf and museums.

We had a great time walking to local establishments and the short drive to major attractions.
Thank you!

A Special Retreat in Rockland
We enjoyed staying in this home - updated and decorated lovely, fairly close to downtown Rockland, and a great place to stage our adventures in the area. Extremely clean and thoughtfully stocked - it's a great getaway with a beautiful deck for some chilling out time. The owners were very responsive to our needs. While they weren't an issue for us, the stairs to the second floor are steep and could be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. Also, while we were there, the Wifi signal was next to nothing, so if you truly need a strong signal for work purposes (I know, you're supposed to be on vacation) - make sure you won't be disappointed with this. Otherwise, it's a special little home and a wonderful place to enjoy all that Rockland has to offer. Thanks, Jimmy & Xiao!

Multi generational vacation
We had a lovely family vacation at this property. The house had everything we needed for days when we wanted to stay put….downtown was an easy 15 minute walk and lots to explore when we preferred to go out… a short drive to two state parks and only an hour to Boothbay to play at the Coastal Botanical Gardens. Although James and Xiao were easy to contact by text…Little contact was needed …Jimmy answered questions quickly…like any where right now we needed to be flexible with restaurants…we planned ahead …ate early…ordered take out in advance…and if the crowds were too large or staff overwhelmed we just ate in

Definitely a home away from home. A most comfortable home that is spacious, clean, beautiful and in a convenient location. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Little gem of a home
Really enjoyed our stay here. Started with a nice touch of wine and beer in the chiller. Plenty of room for couple with children and grandparents, large deck area for extra space. Place was immaculate with some great Maine art touches. Stairs a little tight, but as you would expect from an 1800's house. Ideal for exploring Rockland via the coastal path, a 20 minute walk to town. Would thoroughly recommend this property.

Lovely Rockland Home
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautifully restored historical Rockland home. The home is well appointed with modern conveniences. It’s centrally located in midcoast Maine which made it easy to take day trips to nearby seaside towns.

5 star experience. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a rental in Midcoast Maine.
I grew up in the neighboring town and visit a few times every year so I know the area quite well. I chose this place because I had a couple of friends joining me in my annual summer visit back home. The location and accommodations were perfect. The house (with deck and fireplace) was quiet and relaxing for the evenings we stayed in and for the nights we wanted to go out we were only a short walk from everything you'd ever need or want — Primo's, Jess's Fish Market, Southend Grocery, meat market, a restaurant on the peer, public landing with water access, and a number of dining establishments and museums in downtown Rockland.
The hosts, James and Xiao, were friendly and readily available with any questions we had. The place felt much more like a home than a rental. It was very well furnished. and very comfortable. 5 stars and would highly recommend.

Stay in Rockland
Home was immaculate, very clean and felt just like home. Plenty of extra touches, i.e. fresh flowers, fruit basket, and bottles of wine. Deck was great with clean grill and pads for furniture. Owners live close by and were quickly available for any questions or concerns. I would definitely stay here again!!!

Lovely home about a mile from downtown Rockland. Owners have done an excellent job on furnishing their home with all you might need...including bottled water and assorted drinks, etc.
We loved our stay here.

The house was top notch
This was a beautiful house, with clean and comfortable accommodations. The home owners were very generous and provided all the amenities and more. We even got a Lobster night on the house, what a pleasant surprise. The owners responded to our questions quickly. They were very gracious and it was evident they took pride in their home.
The house is located on Rt 1, but there was quick access just off the main road and we were able to walk and bike to town without any trouble, along the Rockland Harbor Trail. The views were lovely, right along the harbor. On Thursday we stumbled upon the Farmers Market, with live music and plenty of home grown veggies/food. We ate at the Rockland Cafe, Home Kitchen Cafe and the Brass Compass, which were all close by and all with good food and service. The Farnsworth Museum is definitely with a visit.
We highly recommend this property and would definitely rent it again in the future.

Great central location if you are looking to explore and be on the go!
Clean, Cheerful and Charming.
We have rented in the area for many years and been disappointed (advertise one thing and when you arrive you get another) - but not here.
A well-stocked, large, airy, light-filled, modern, S/S, Eat in Kitchen (complete with rocking chair) with all you need to prepare and enjoy simple to more creative meals (I know I am a chef from NYC).
Great Wi-Fi if you want to check in or watch movies. TV's in each room.
Comfortable beds complete with big pillows, warm blankets, big bathroom towels and attractive bedside lighting and areas to plug in.
Seaside sounds and smells of salt air of nearby Rockland Harbor greet you.
Comfy couches with throw pillows to stretch out on, indoor and outdoor areas for relaxing (we loved their deck with multiple seating areas to relax and enjoy one another company, preparing meals on the grill with a screen / door access to the kitchen (it's all about the details), whether cooking locally caught fish or co-op lobsters (ask the owner), making and enjoying s’mores, enjoying a glass of wine with friends and family.
Try a soak in their claw foot tub Jack-n-Jill bathroom or enjoy their new modern walk-in shower, with stackable washer and dryer (which is great for a couple or family – like ours with children).
There is a seaside park nearby, walk to town, great areas to walk or run, sit and watch boats, rent a kayak or do paddle boarding, talk to locals or just chill.
This is dog friendly home with a great yard. I walked every day to the park nearby, finding benches to sit and watch boats. Lots of local activity for an amateur photographer like myself to appreciate and enjoy and share later.
We look forward to coming again.
To sum up our attentive owners, were generous, flexible and easy going making us feel welcome. They live nearby and are available should you need anything

Rockland Retreat
I traveled with 4 other people to the property in Rockland. The home is totally remodeled. Three bedrooms made the stay perfect for us. The dishwasher and washing machine came in very handy. Wine by the gas fire pit on the deck was a real treat each night. The property is close enough to walk to town and there is a convenience store right up the street. Although we ate out a lot, being able to cook breakfast home was great. There is also a meat market right up the street. We bought steaks and cooked them on the provided gas grill. All in all a wonderful stay. I would definitely rebook if we found ourselves back in Rockland.

Charming Maine Home
Charming Maine Home
The house has been recently renovated and you can immediately tell it was a labor of love, The first thing I noticed was the gorgeous exposed beams in the front room. The hard wood floors were stunning! The owner also uncovered some cool artifacts from the original owner.
The downstairs bathroom is enormous!! and the upstairs one is a good sized as well, and has a beautiful floor with a claw footed tub!
There are so many charming characteristics of this home, you will have to stay to fully absorb them all!
The owners were incredibly hospitable. We travel a good bit and they were by far the most gracious. The second or third day they were here, they surprised us with lobster !!! And then a day or so later the owners came by with the gift of the homemade Chinese dumpling!!
There was also water, a ton of fruit and klondike bars in the fridge when we arrived! Additionally they also gifted us with wine for the week!
The property was extremely well-maintained and the customer service exceeded my expectations!
I would absolutely would recommend this to a relative and friend.
We enjoyed the area around us with short trips the breakwater, Owls Head light house and beach, McLoons down in Port Clyde and Marshall Light house. There is also a huge field down a stones throw over on Gamage lane, where you can run and play with family and watch sunsets.
Thanks again for all the hospitality!
