Everything you need and could want. The home was welcoming and warm with so many special touches. Our stay was extra special since there wasn’t a thing we lacked. Plenty of space - indoors and out, great location (1/2 mile walk to the beach and a lighthouse!), so close to Portland proper, as well as close to the Portland headlight. It was a perfect getaway. Looking forward to another stay here!

This is probably our 6th dog friendly rental so far and by far the cleanest. The layout was perfect for us. There's a main floor bedroom in the back with access to the backyard and ensuite bathroom perfect for the older couple with a dog. The area can be closed off with a pocket door. Upstairs are two bedrooms and two bathrooms with washer and dryer. There's nice play area and lots of toys, very comfortable for a family of four with two small children. The layout gave both families extra space so we didnt feel cramped. Location is close to the beach. Kitchen is well appointed and the dishwasher worked well. We really enjoyed our stay over Christmas.

Very clean, cozy property. Location is very close to beach and other Maine points of interest like Spring point lighthouse and local bakeries. Know that the house is older and quirky, which is fine for young, nimble people but may be an issue for those who are mobility impaired (steps going down into one of the upstairs bedrooms and up into attached bath.) my mom, with a walker did fine with the first floor bedroom and bath which were level. Overall, very nice and we would stay there again.

There was nothing we needed in the house that wasn't provided and there was plenty of room for me and 2 friends. Good location to access downtown Portland, and Willard Beach was an easy walk a couple of blocks away.

Excellent large property that was very well suited for a family. Each room had its own bathroom which was fantastic. We ate some meals in and the kitchen was very well appointed and easy to use. Local area is fantastic, highly recommend Willard Scoops for ice cream. Scratch bakery is an absolute must for the bagels. We were visiting family in Portland and had rented a car, there was a spot for parking. Portland is within easy reach. All communication with Diana was prompt, we didn't communicate much as there were no problems! Excellent property, highly recommend.

Magical Maine.
This vacation home was in the perfect location to discover Maine.
There were five of us staying at this property and there was plenty of room and privacy for all of us.
All the bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable and clean.
The outdoor table in the garden made for a memorable place to eat a meal in the evening.
The house is located a couple of blocks from Willard beach. I would strongly recommend watching the sunrise from this beach.
It was a little cold at that time of the morning but the sunrise was unbelievable.
Plenty to do and see in this part of the world.
We will definitely be coming back.
Our host Diana was very quick to reply to questions I had and also made some great recommendations for our stay.

We had to leave our winter vacation a little early, but we would love to return to this home in the summer months! We found the house extremely comfortable and functional as a family with a young child and a baby, and there even would have been space for a set of grandparents to join us. While not explicitly baby-proofed, the space was definitely safe for our three-year-old to explore, although if you have a *very* hands-on little one you might need to move a few small decorative items out of the way.
Everything was clean and well cared for, and all the kitchen appliances worked great. The thermostat seemed underpowered or slow at first, but by the end of our stay everything was fine, so maybe it had just been off right before we arrived. We really appreciated the collection of children's books and toys, as well as the little high chair that were left for us to use. The flexibility of a crib as well as a pack-n-play onsite was great, too. Another nice feature was the number of bathrooms, which gave everyone a lot of privacy and allowed flexibility while managing baths and bedtimes for the kids. It seems like the owners have put a lot of thought into everything!
The only thing that would have been nice would be to have would be some darker/heavier curtains in the bedrooms to keep out light in the morning, but I know that isn't everyone's taste. If you have super-light-sensitive little ones, you might want to bring something to help black out the windows for naptimes. Even with that very minor thing, we were really happy with the house and wish we could have stayed longer!

Diana was a great host and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage has all the amenities of home and is well cared for. The close proximity to the beach was awesome as was breakfast at the local bakery. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Adorable place, convenient location
There was plenty of room and we enjoyed our stay. The backyard and garden were amazing. My only complaint was a bad odor that seemed like leftover baby smells. It seemed clean though so I’m not sure why.

Comfortable and homey in South Portland
We really enjoyed our stay close to family and Willard Beach. The home had a well-equipped kitchen with lots of room to play indoors in winter weather (what we had) and lots of outdoor space for warmer weather. It was great also to have a clear instruction manual, lots of bathrooms and books/toys for little ones.

Great three day stay
It is a wonderful house with great New England character.
The beds were comfy and there is plenty of room to spread out.
The three full bathrooms were a huge plus when it came time for my group to get ready for the wedding we were attending.
It was nice to be able to park all three cars off of the street.

Quick Trip
This was a great house for a multigenerational family and I loved the room with the crib for my 1 year old. We also enjoyed the toys available to keep my child entertained. The location was great for travelling into Portland, going to the beach and seeing the lighthouses. It was a great home base for our short visit!

Nice Stay
We enjoyed our stay. The place was clean. The outdoor space was great, and there was a fire pit that we really enjoyed. It was close to the marina which was good for us as we spent quite a bit of time over there and out on the water. There was one issue - when we first arrived the wifi didnt work for the first 3 days, which was an inconvenience since i needed to get some work done, but they did what they could to try and make it up to us.

We spent Thanksgiving week here and were delighted by the kitchen! They have everything we needed, and more! The home was very clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable and the linens high quality. It was a pleasure to stay in such a lovely home. Bonus points for location being close to Willard beach and Scratch Bakery!

Great Autumn stay
We had a great time at this house for a long weekend stay in October. The house comfortably fit our group of 4 adults, 1 infant and a dog. Great location- easy access to downtown Portland and walkable to a dog-friendly beach, Spring Point Lighthouse and several great breakfast and lunch options. We stayed through a nor'easter that knocked power out for a night and the hosts were incredibly accommodating and hospitable through it all. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Stop in Maine
The kitchen was well stocked with everything necessary to prepare and serve meals. The bathrooms had an ample supply of towels and the full sized washer and dryer were a nice addition for the five of us after we had spent the previous week on the road. The fire pit was enjoyed on a few cool evenings. Having a half bath easily accessible on the first floor was a plus. Overall our stay was quite enjoyable and the location of the house was good, close to groceries, restaurants, downtown Portland. Realizing that the owners live in an adjoining in-law suite you should expect to smell the aroma of food preparation from their kitchen. Communications with the owner prior to our arrival were excellent, very prompt reply’s to inquiries.

Wonderful family weekend
We celebrated my dad’s birthday and parent’s wedding anniversary as a family in October. It was a perfect fall weekend, and this home close to Willard Beach made the weekend even better. We had plenty of space, the home was super clean, and the location was perfect.

Family reunion
The property was everything it was advertised to be and more. All the bedrooms, each with separate bathrooms were more than adequate in size with warm inviting decor, comfortable beds and plenty of linens and towels. The dining and living rooms were spacious and the large kitchen extremely well stocked with every tool imaginable. The openess of the downstairs provided a perfect gathering place. The backyard was comfortable and we enjoyed a nice fire in the firepit while playing cards our last day. It was sunny and we needed a down day, the perfect spot!
The location was ideal for everything we wanted to do and see and the owners were close by to answer any questions.
Well worth every penny!
