It seems like everyone has said all the wonderful things about this place already. I can only echo what the others have said and hope to stay again when I have more time.

Stayed for a lottle over a week for a family reunion and honeymoon. We brought our pups and they loved it as did we. The creek and barn across the street are yours to roam as well, they loved to take a drink and a cool walk in the creek. Outside patio with a corral for the pup was a extra bonus we couldnt do without. Sit and listen to the creek under a giant tree while ur furry friend enjoys it without constraint. The inside had everything you could need i mean EVERYTHING, the host was beyond accommodating- early check in and a later check out! We will be back for sure! Thanks Tom

The farmhouse is so charming, originally just a 2 room house.
We spent almost our whole trip on the back porch under that big 200 year old oak tree, its huge!
Tom the owner was amazing.
Thanks for a great stay.

We had a great stay with our dogs for a month while we were waiting to get into our house we bought. We and the pups enjoyed the large deck and creek and barn, there is also a fenced area for the pups to do their business. there is everything you need there for a comfortable stay. it's quiet and relaxing. There is jack rabbit trails within 3 miles that have mountain biking and walking, which we took our dogs frequently. The owner was very nice and great communication. We would go back if we didn't just buy a house.

We had a wonderful stay at the farmhouse with our dogs. The home was cozy & just what we were looking for. The land was beautiful, we enjoyed walking around by the creek and taking in the surrounding mountain scenery. The fenced in area was perfect for the pups. The farmhouse is in a quiet neighborhood, not far from great hiking spots and also not far from grocery. The hosts were very kind, accommodating & very quick with responses. Check-in & out was a breeze. We would love to stay here again, definitely recommend. Thank yall for a lovely stay! :-)

The most equipped rental we have ever gotten. The dog corral was a great addition. And the long running brook on the property was a great area to relax. Tom the host was wonderful and very easy to work with. He always answered in a very quick manner.

Everything was clean inside. Well equipped in the kitchen with dish ware and cookware. Even has a great dishwasher. Ceilings are low so if you are 6’2”or taller, May not feel comfortable but otherwise just loved the place. Hope to be back.

This was an amazing experience. The house was very clean and well maintained, and the property was beautiful. There’s a barn, creek, and the deck and porch are a great place to listen to the water flowing down the creek while the birds sing around you. Our dogs loved the property. The host was beyond perfect with being considerate and responsive. We loved this place and hope to return.

I can’t say enough about how great this property is! Peaceful…relaxing…well equipped for all our home away from home needs. They thought of all the little extras for sure. Our pup loved the creek and the doggie corral. We definitely plan to stay here again when we are back in the area. Thanks so much for all the hospitality….great owners that go above and beyond!

This was our 2nd stay at Tom’s place, we love it there! The location is great, easy to find and access (no curvy steep mountain roads), the house is an old farmhouse that’s been nicely renovated, has beautiful views and sounds of the creek from the rocking chair front porch or the huge back deck, comfortable beds, kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook, cozy fireplace, fenced area for the dogs which is awesome. Take a walk across the street by the old barn and creek that’s also part of the property. Overall just a great place to stay to enjoy Western NC and N GA.

We fell in love with The Farmhouse and everything about the place. It was completely furnished. It was modernized on the inside with all the conveniences of today's world but allowing for the feeling and appearance of a 100 year old cabin. We loved the hard wood floors and unique table and bathroom counter and sink. I so enjoyed coffee each day and the large mugs even though the mornings were too cold to sit on the porch to drink it. Our dogs enjoyed the freedom of the pen, and we enjoyed not having to take them out so often. It was a perfect place to spend for my husband seminar and my vacation. He worked and I enjoyed my time relaxing and chilling comfortably. Thank you Tom for a wonderful place full of all that is needed to be comfortable.

My husband and I and our fur baby took this week to relax and recharge. The most enjoyable trip we've had. We spent so much time enjoying the fireplace and just relaxing. No agenda but plenty of things to do if wanted. We enjoyed good eats nearby and quaint antique shops.

Just what my family needed for Fall Break! The property was so beautiful and the owners could not have been kinder. The only time our young teen girls picked up their phones was just before bed each night. They were too busy exploring the creek, telling ghost stories, and having acorn wars. We spent hours on the deck enjoying the beautiful scenery and crisp Fall air. Add all of this to the gorgeous NC views and it made for a vacation that we will never forget.

Our family spent an extended weekend at the cottage and it far exceeded our expectations. The house is conveniently located to the lake, shopping, and not far from town. It felt like home from the minute we walked through the door and the back deck is where we spend most of our time. It is large, has plenty of seating, is connected to the doggie run, and is shaded by a humbling large oak. The communication (both prior to check-in and following check-out) with Tom was easy, detailed, and very personable. We will definitely book here for future trips to this area!

Pleasant getaway with our dogs
The two of us and our dogs had a wonderful stay at Shooting Creek. The house is equipped with almost anything you could possibly need except food and personal items. Our dogs had a wonderful time, as well! The fenced dog area was perfect for our needs. We were able to let them in and out of the house to take care of doggie business without needing to take them out on a leash. That was a vacation for us! The owners ask that renters bring extra blankets to cover the furniture if bringing dogs, which was fine with us, and even provided additional sheets in case we forgot our own. There is a town close by with an Ingles grocery store, as well as several other stores and restaurants. Tom even provides an Ingles discount card number for people who may not have or want one of their own. Once we initiated our reservation, our host, Tom, was very communicative and helpful. We highly recommend this farmhouse to anyone seeking a pet-friendly location.

Farm house
Quaint Farm house that is easy to get to. Porch and deck to sit on and listen to Creek across the street. Very quiet area.
House was built in late 1800’s so floors are a little uneven. May not be good for anyone with walking disability.
Had a wonderful time in . Thanks Tom!

Tom is indeed a Super Host
The farmhouse had charm and character. I was fortunate enough to be there when we got a little snow—and that only increased the ambience. Despite really cold weather, the farmhouse was warm and snuggly.
I have to mention Tom though. His level of caring and communication was outstanding. I was concerned with getting there and checked in before the snowstorm hit. He did everything in his power to make sure I got there safely and in time to beat the weather. Thank you Tom for not only sharing your beautiful farmhouse, but for being a kind and gracious host.

We felt at home as soon as we walked in
The farmhouse is beautiful, and has a real homelike feel. We loved sitting on the deck under the big oak tree and looking out at the barn and beautiful fall colored mountain. The loft in the barn is a magical place with chandeliers, bench swings, and interesting artifacts. Our host Tom was great and went above and beyond. We look forward to visiting the farmhouse again.

Home Away From Home
Beautifully situated in a lovely location, this charming farmhouse was so well-appointed, it truly was not necessary to bring anything except personal items. Many thoughtful touches abounded to make The Farmhouse a cozy and comfortable “home away from home..” I have recommended this Vrbo to friends and family and we plan to return each August. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Beyond our expectations
We were looking for a place to stay between closing on our home in FL & buying in NC. After a 12 hr ride we arrived to the most comfortable beds & everything we needed including bowls for our dog to make our stay as comfortable as possible . The fenced in deck & doggie area were perfect for our sr dog.
We found the location to be peaceful, relaxing & convenient to everything.

A great getaway for the whole family!
Our entire family had a wonderful getaway as Tom and Beverly were great hosts and their place offered something for every member of our family! We enjoyed drinks and relaxing on the porch and in the barn (yes, the top of the bard has been converted into a cool and unique area to enjoy) with our golden retriever. Our boys (10 & 12) were free to roam the property and spent most of their time playing in the creek catching small fish and crawdads. The road does cut through the property. It isn't busy, but you'll need to keep an eye on younger kids who aren't old enough to cross on their own. Tom was quick to reply and sort out a couple of things we needed and made our stay more pleasant. We also ventured out for a couple of hikes and to locations for our oldest boy to do a little trout and bass fishing. It is a wonderful place for our family in a great location that we would love to visit again.

Quaint Farmhouse
Tom's farmhouse was adorable and he thought of everything! I stayed with a friend and my dog for a long weekend to escape the city. We had an issue with wifi connection when we first arrived, but Tom's communication throughout and in general was amazing! I will say that the house is situated very close to the road, so dog owners who have escape artists beware! We had a great time :)
