We really enjoyed our stay at this property. We enjoyed the kayaking, exploring the oyster bed during low tide, and the incredible view. Jay is very thoughtful with everything provided at the rental. We also appreciated the handwritten welcome card and snacks.

Jay though of everything. A very well stocked home away from home. To wake up with that view from the master is breathtaking. Thanks for the great stay.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could! Perfect place to unplug, view beautiful scenery and watch the wildlife!
Upon walking in I found a lovely welcome note and fresh cut flowers on the table! What a great way to kick off our stay!
We really needed a place to unwind and unplug after a very busy 5 months of work, graduation and college planning. And I don't think we could have found a better spot to stay!
The home has everything that you need, just like if you were in your own home. The upstairs bedroom is huge and waking up to that view was amazing!
We spent a lot of time sitting outside by the fire pit. A little too windy to enjoy the kayaks but there were plenty to choose from.
Low and high tide brought out so many animals, I was thankful there were binoculars! Sitting one night I thought I was watching otters in the bay area to the left. Nope, they were a little family of 5 harbor seals! So interesting to watch them dive and feed. They even came around to the front of the property to check us out! Sitting one morning I noticed some large birds across the bay to the left. I thought crows. Nope, they were eagle fledglings with Mom and Dad nearby! We watched them both morning and night. We also watched the seagulls at low tide - they would find a clam, fly up high, and drop it onto the rocky shore to crack it open! We were greeted by a deer the first night outside the kitchen window too!
Conveniently located to ONP, grocery and restaurants!

We were beyond pleased with our stay. Jay was super helpful and responsive, and his home is amazing. We were able to ride Go-Karts at Ridge Motorsports, hike at Olympic National Park (with a stop at Lake Cushman!), ride the railcars at Vance Creek Railriders, and enjoy the kayaks on the property. We had a deer and her baby visit us while we sat at the fire pit, saw seals, a bald eagle and enjoyed a stunning view. I would stay here again without a doubt!!

The property owner was very considerate and made sure we got into the property during our check-in window.
The property is well maintained and absolutely beautiful. Our son (2 years) really loved walking around outside and seeing all the shells on the ground.
Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

Jay was awesome to communicate and work with. The property and views are spectacular. You will not regret staying here. It’s worth every penny. He provides a ton of amenities like kayaks, movies, and additional supplies as needed.
Pick this place if you can, you won’t regret it.

Last year, we had one of the best family vacations ever at Jay's place. It"s beautiful, comfortable and well appointed, and location can’t be beat. We had an incredible time exploring area, flora and fauna.
Our nine-year-old said that all he wanted to do this summer was go back to the Hood Canal and that we MUST stay at the same place. We did! And we had another amazing time this year.
Thanks, Jay!

We had a wonderful stay at this really nice and clean home right on the banks of Hood Canal. We had everything we needed and we’re impressed by the cleanliness. Communication with the owner Jay was quick and easy. It’s quiet and we had a relaxing stay. Highly recommended!

Jay is an attentive, communicative host. You will NOT find a Hood Canal/Hoodsport home with a better bedroom view! Every morning I woke up to the sunrise over the canal right from the loft. This home is ideal for a romantic getaway for two- just because the master is the loft bedroom & I could communicate clearly with my family downstairs in the kitchen from my bed in the master. That said- we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. We kayaked , cooked, grilled, swam in the canal & at Lake Cushman, napped and played yatzee. I highly recommend Jake’s Hide-a-way Fishing Lodge!

Very relaxing. Perfect weather the entire time. Hurricane ridge awesome. Ruby beach and Victoria, B.C very scenic and worth getting up early to catch the ferry. Fortunate to enjoy your beautiful state.

We had high hopes for our stay at this property and we were NOT disappointed! The view from the house and on the patios is stunning! The weather was ideal for our stay, but if it hadn't been, we would still have been able to enjoy the setting. We took advantage of the well appointed kitchen and patio barbecue to eat in and took a few excursions to nearby scenes, but mostly enjoyed a relaxing time on the property with my 90-year-old mother.
There was a little glitch with the access code when we arrived, but Jay had it corrected before I had a chance to contact him. Later in our stay, we accidentally locked ourselves out and Jay was able to help us immediately. Thank you Jay!
I can recommend this property without hesitation and will definitely consider booking it again for a relaxing get-away.

Hoods Port is a lovely spot. Easy access from Seattle. Nearby hiking trails and water sports. A couple delightful restaurants. Don’t miss the Oyster Bank. We enjoyed kayaking and just sitting on the patio soaking up the view. The accommodation is perfect for four people. Very open and light. Bring eye shades if you are a late sleeper. There is a Keurig and drip coffee maker but no coffee grinder as listed. Jay is a thoughtful host and provided many of the little things that make for an enjoyable stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Clean, comfortable and the most amazing location. We came to tour the Olympic Peninsula and had plans for every day but decided to spend a couple or days right here because it was so relaxing and beautiful. I highly recommend this place. Jay is an excellent host.

We loved this waterfront cabin located by Hood Canal. When we first entered the cabin we were welcomed with fresh flowers, a note fro the owner, and a lovely fire burning in a beautiful stone fireplace. The cabin was spotless, has a well appointed kitchen with any tool you’ll ever need, and the large loft bedroom with King bed provides a stunning view of Hood Canal. The views downstairs are equally as gorgeous and invite you to enjoy a large yard and the use of a wide variety of water toys. Five stars.

Everything about this little home was well thought out and perfect. Warm and cozy. Very clean and kept up. Comfy beds! Great views, as it’s situated perfectly on the Canal. Off the highway, so it’s also quiet. Plenty of activities to entertain you. Highly recommend.

What a terrific spot on Hood Canal! Peaceful and quiet, with a fantastic view. Jay’s home was super clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed inside and out, including the kayaks, which we enjoyed. We had a great visit and will be back!

Jay is a true SuperHost! He was easy to get in touch with and went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience. The house is amazing and well thought out. There are kayaks and boats to use on the waterfront and he even stocked wood and everything needed for a fire in the waterfront fire pit. The big king bed is super comfortable and seeing the sunrise through the big windows was a treat. Also, he left some treats that we absolutely used while hiking -- and fresh flowers on the table. We enjoy seeing a new place every year, but this is a place I would return to! Don't forget to look for the starfish from the kayaks at low tide!

We’ll be back
First getaway in 4 years for just my wife and I. This place was perfect! The house is beautiful, the views even more beautiful. Nice kitchen with everything you need. Off of 101 enough that while inside you didn’t hear any street noise. Comfortable bed. Only complaint is we didn’t see any whales, but we found a friendly seal who played with us while we kayaked.

Lovely setting
The property was as described. The view is gorgeous and the property was very clean. The kitchen was well stocked and we
Enjoyed eating outside on the patio. We’re a group of seniors so the stairs proved a little challenging. But we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Hood Canal Getaway
This was our first Vrbo and we weren’t sure what to expect, but we loved the location and how it matched exactly to the listing. Easy use of kitchen as all the necessary items were available for use. We loved the area and the closeness to hiking trails and the use of the kayaks.

Incredible
My wife and I came out from CO for a week away. Our priority was finding a place with great views. This place did not disappoint and exceeded our expectation! It was amazing waking up every morning and looking out onto the Hood canal. Beautiful home (amazing shower!), great amenities, great vibe! We took the kayaks out on the water. Saw several seals during our stay. Jay is an excellent host! Thank you, Jay! I can't recommend this place enough and we hope to be back soon!

Amazing family get-away
We had the most amazing time at this lovely property on the Hood Canal. We arrived after dark, and Jay helped ensure we were able to get into the house quickly. There were fresh flowers and snacks on the table when we arrived. Such a nice touch after a long drive from Seattle. The house was spotless, and organized, and we felt like home immediately. I am notorious for packing everything I anticipate I'll need to cook meals/snacks, but I could have left my boxes at home. The house is well equipped with everything you need. The view is amazing, the beach was fun to explore, and the location was perfect for hiking and beach walking both north and south of Hoodsport. We will definitely be back to catch the hiking trails and kayaking we just didn't get to. Enjoy your stay!

This house was fantastic for our smaller family - great view, very clean, very well appointed kitchen and amenities! We lacked for nothing and felt so comfortable here. The owner is very responsive as other reviewers mention. We’ve already decided to rent this home again on our next trip!

We had a great week staying here! The views were awesome, even on rainy foggy days! Great location and the house was so nice and warm. Had a wonderful welcome note from the owner when we arrived with snacks! Great touch! We definitely are trying to come back this summer with our son.

Beautiful vacation rental on Hood Canal.
We totally enjoyed our 3-day stay. The house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need,. There were even snacks for us on our arrival. The setting takes advantage of a lovely view out over the water. There is close access to Lake Cushman and hiking trails. The owner was very responsive to a couple questions we had. We would like to stay there again on our next visit to the area.

The property view and fall colors nearby were beautiful. The rainy weather was disappointing, but not unusual this time of year. The trip was still great.

Great!
Lovely property located just north of Hoodsport. Check-in was a breeze and the house had everything we needed for a weekend away with friends. We took the kayaks out every day, had a campfire every night, and met the nice cat that lives next door. We'll be back!

Awesome quiet and comfortable get away - fully equiped
We have stayed in a lot of rentals and this was certainly amoung the best from multiple standpoints. The location and view are awesome. The owner provided everything we could possibly want for cooking eating, sleeping, etc. There is a nice grill on the deck. There are plenty of oysters in the water at the property. The owner was very friendly, accomodating and responsive. The coffee maker had an issue while we were there and within 30 minutes he was at the door with a replacment and some coffee to boot. They have a broad selection of spices and some nice snacks and some starter food. There was even ice cream in the freezer for us. Love the place. We would not hesitate to stay again and would highly recommend the place. Awesome stay.

Fantastic property.
Great location- hiking trails in Olympic national park and close enough to hoodsport for dinners. Great views- sunrise over the water, early morning kayaking and watching the waves as the sun goes down on the patio. It was beautiful waking up in the loft and seeing the orange blaze of the sun as it comes up.

Perfect spot for a small family
