Located on quiet Baynard Park Road, across from the Heritage PGA 13th and 14th holes.
Great location for those that enjoy nature and watching a lovely variety of birds that often visit our lawn.
This is a beautifully renovated and comfortably furnished, 3000 plus square foot home. The Italian tiled Great Room has a wall of glass with a clear view over the large lawn, down to the lagoon & egret island. It enables anyone in the kitchen area to be part of the group. The Weber gas grill is located just outside on the patio, close to the kitchen. The dining area inside seats 8, plus 4 bar stools around the counter. On the patio, there are two dining areas. The four generously sized bedrooms, are located to offer privacy for each, and each enjoy their own bathroom.
This home is designed to provide comfortable and easy vacation living with the several delightful outdoor sitting areas, two are fenced with gates. Sit on the terrace overlooking a lagoon and Egret Island, where in spring and early summer nesting egrets cover this island. Swim or relax around the private courtyard pool. Two bedrooms open into this area and there is a special area for doggy convenience. The entryway courtyard with small garden has table & chairs for quiet times and shade.
The Master Bedroom has 12 feet of French doors leading into the courtyard pool area. A second bedroom also opens up into this area.
Great Room consists of:
An open kitchen area, with granite countertops and counter seating for 4.
Dining room table seats 8.
Living area has extremely comfortable, oversize reclining sectional and armchair rocker recliner grouping surrounding the large flat screen TV with Blue Ray DVD.
Wifi.
Games table for cards, backgammon or chess.
4 bedrooms, each with flat screen TVs and DVDs, All are Blue Ray, & each bedroom has their own sitting area outside of their glass doors.
3 king sized beds,
1 full bed, 1 twin bed and a twin sized sofa bed with comfortable foam mattress.
3 bedrooms have bathrooms with showers en suite.
4th bedroom has bathroom immediately across the hall with tub/shower.
2 bedrooms overlook the lagoon, the other two have direct access to the pool.
Pool can be heated in spring and fall, a half bathroom is adjacent to pool area with a supply of towels for pool use. There are an abundance of chaise lounges and poolside chairs to relax in & soak up the sun, when not swimming. For doggy guests the enclosed courtyard offers them safety and freedom making it very convenient for their owners and allowing them to share time together.
Laundry room includes front load washer, top load washer and two dryers.
Weber gas barbecue grill outside of kitchen overlooking the lagoon, two outside dining tables.
While we are pet friendly, dogs only, there is no limit to size, however dogs must be one year or older. We do charge a pet fee of $225.00 for each dog, limit of 2 dogs unless by special agreement with us, the owners.
Our guests satisfaction is of upmost importance to us.
We manage our homes personally, working directly with our guests to ensure their stay in our home is a comfortable and enjoyable one. We are available to them twenty for hours a day.
Regarding our other THREE HOMES listed on HomeAway. Their VRBO numbers are 239212, 7263910 and 3523347 these are all on Live Oak Road.
For those who like to bike ride, we have arrangements with Riding Tigers Bike Rentals to obtain discounted pricing on bike rentals for our guests. Simply call them and ask for the discount. They offer free delivery and pickup also.
Their number will be shown on our Welcome Letter we send to our guests.
We do require our Lease Agreement, found on the rental booking page, to be completed and returned to us. In turn we furnish each renter with a copy. We send informative Welcome Letters and closer to arrival a descriptive letter regarding the house, and our pet policy while your furry companion is visiting with you. Also a Sea Pines Community Letter.

We had an absolute wonderful time! The property is so clean and cozy! The communication with the Owner was top notch from the beginning. A family member had an injury while we were on vacation and Carol went out of her way to help. I HIGHLY recommend this property! We will definitely be back!

A wonderful location and great layout of rooms with privacy for all. Loved all the bathrooms. Pool was perfect for late afternoon kid activity after a day at the beach while parents alternated showering and meal prep. Bonus was the Rookery which we all enjoyed viewing every night. We would definitely rent again.

Our family has been vacationing on Hilton Head Island for more than 35 consecutive years. We especially like staying in Sea Pines Plantation. Over all the years we have never stayed in a home that was a better fit for our family. Simply stated it was a world class experience. Looking forward to our next stay.

We had a very nice time staying at this property😊 it was very clean, spacious, and a beautiful location. We had a little problem with the air conditioning when we arrived, but we just called Carol, and she took care of the problem as soon as she could…especially with it being over the weekend! It was repaired by Monday afternoon with a new part! Everyone had such a great time in the fenced in pool area☺️Our grandchildren had a blast❣️Thank you so much🏖️

The Rookery was a wonderful family vacation location. This was an exceptional property. Lots of bright rooms to spread out in and plenty of seating inside and out. If you come to Hilton Head in the summer, a pool is a must. The grandkids and adults enjoyed the pool just as much as the beach! The weather was hot, but picture perfect. The views facing the lagoon were fabulous and it was so peaceful and quiet (except for the calls from the egrets, hawks, wood storks etc 😄). I’m an avid birder and enjoyed seeing all the bird families.
We enjoyed bicycling to the beach which was about 10 minutes away and along the many bike paths. We barely left Sea Pines….uncrowded beaches, fun pony rides for the grandkids, immaculate neighborhoods, golf clubs etc.
We would love to return to the Rookery!

The home was well-stocked and clean with plenty of room for everyone. The neighborhood was quiet with very little traffic. We rented bikes to make the one mile trip to the beach and to enjoy all the bike paths in Sea Pines. The pool was the perfect size and was enjoyed by our whole group. We enjoyed watching the birds flying around behind the house. Would stay here again should we return to HHI.

We had 7 people stay in the house over Christmas. It was a great house to make holiday meals with the open floor plan. We had our dog with us, and it was a great area of Sea Pines to go on walks. Would definitely stay here again. The owners were excellent to work with and very responsive with all communications.

Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed everything was very clean bedrooms were really nice and we had a nice day loved watching the fish jump in the water behind us and the wildlife so dear and birds and even the alligator made in the appearance right before we left

The house is very relaxing. The view for bird watching was excellent. Lots of egrets, ospreys, and herons to view at the lagoon. Quick trip to the beach. Pool was excellent.

Family vacation to Hilton Head
This was our 2nd trip to Hilton Head, but first at this property.
Carol Shultis was very easy to work with. She kept in touch with us throughout the entire process. The house was very nice and clean. My wife and I enjoyed bird watching and biking, while our 3 teens spent many hours at the pool. We rented bikes Palmetto Bikes at a discount provided by Carol. Great decision. We made daily trips to the beach (~1 mile) and Harbour town (~1.5 miles) by bike. We also enjoyed watching the sunset from the golf course. If we decide to vacation at HHI again, this property will be at the top of our list again.

Great quiet Sea Pines location
Our family had an amazing stay at The Rookery. The property was exactly as advertised, with the added bonus of a quiet neighborhood and low traffic street. We were able to easily ride our bikes to Harbourtown, the beach club and the Shops at Sea Pines. It is a large home and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The pool on property was a great feature and the home had all the essentials we needed. We definitely would recommend this property for your next family vacation. Carol is a great host and checked in with us throughout our visit. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Family Thanksgiving
We enjoyed this very clean, spacious, and well equipped home for the Thanksgiving Holiday. We had 8 adults and never felt cramped. The king sized beds were comfortable, all rooms very spacious and very clean. Two washers, two dryers and two refrigerators were a welcome surprise. The kitchen was well stocked with a large crock pot, casseroles, a variety of mixing bowls, spices and plenty of plates, flatware and glasses. Parking more than 3-4 vehicles required some juggling but was doable. We did not pay to heat the pool but it would be necessary to use it in November. We would definitely stay here again.

The Rookery met all our family's needs and then some! I could tell by my first interaction with Carol that things were going to be great. The house was just as pictured - although it was way more spacious than we imagined! It was plenty of space for our family of 4 - we didn't use two of the bedrooms, but I think there is easily room for 8 to 10 adults/kids. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of pots, pans, plates, and tons of flatware. I cooked most of our meals and found things just where I'd put them in my own house. We paid for pool heat and it really made a difference. The weather was so beautiful, we spent our days at the beach and pool both. The house is a short bike ride to the beach through the shaded path. We rode all over Sea Pines and even to Coligny shopping center with our girls - they had a blast. Rent bikes!
We also brought our pup and he was right at home. Carol is so organized and thoughtful. It really was one of our very best family vacations yet!

Quiet neighborhood
The home was spacious and allowed for time together on the wrap around couch or also privacy when needed. The pool was clean and maintained. With all of the activity in the neighborhood it was still quiet and relaxing while at the property. The view of the water and birds coming and going in the back yard were tranquil. There were bike trails that led you all through the neighborhood. Restaurants and groceries were just at the entrance to the neighborhood. This was a peaceful getaway for the family that we all enjoyed.

We really enjoyed our stay, the property was clean and comfortable. Plenty of room and the pool was very nice, enjoyed the view out back and the fishing.

Carol was a joy to work with. We had a couple of questions and she answered promptly. It was a nice space for our girls’ trip. The pool is a plus. There was enough room that we were able to be together when we wanted and still have alone time. The only complaint is the week went too fast.

Beautiful location in sea pines. Very well equipped kitchen. Lots of space inside and out. Plenty of wildlife on view. Easily supported a family of nine and a dog. Nice pool enjoyed by all. Good communication with the owner. Very clean. Recommended!

It was nice to sit out on the lagoon side and then change it up sitting by the pool. Carol is excellent to work with. She is incredibly organized. We would love to stay there again.
