About this cabin rental
You know, I came to this area for over twenty years before I finally purchased and retired here. I spent twelve years travelling in the Music business and have traveled all over the world. There are very few places in the world like Ridgway. I am amazed at the continuing outdoor activity that never seems to stop. It just transitions from winter activities, skiing, cross country ski, ice climbing, snowmobiles, snow boarding and on and on. Then we transition in to Spring and all that goes with it, from Mountain Climbing, Hiking, Jeep Trails to die for, Fishing, Boating, Motorcycling and on and on. The beauty that surrounds this little community is surreal. When I purchased this perfectly located property it had This beautiful log home rental with spectacular views of the Cimarron and the San Juan Mountains. The cabin is now a fully furnished mountain retreat with everything you will need for a comfortable, affordable stay. Private road with lots of wildlife. Beautiful old Cottonwood trees with an old tire swing. A creek runs through the pasture keeping the grass lush and green. Enjoy the panoramic mountain views. Far enough away from civilization, yet walking distance to town! Located on a farm with lots of wildlife. Only 26 miles from the nearest airport. 2 miles to the famous Ouray Hot springs. 9 miles to Ouray, an easy drive to the Ice Climbing Park off of Camp Bird Mine Rd. and Imogene Pass, renowned for Jeeping and 4x4s. 35 Miles from the Ski Lifts in Telluride. If you think you like staying in Telluride, then you should try this very special Gem in Ridgway. You will be surprised at how open things feel in this Valley. The town is full of incredible restaurants and close to all of the restaurants in Ouray. Join us at the Mountain View Cabin for your next stay in the area.

My friends and I came back after staying here last year. Mark and his wife are wonderful hosts and completely available and engaging. He clearly spends a lot of time and effort on not only maintaining but improving this property. Since last year, he added a beautiful fire pit with wonderful furniture and a great patio for outdoor dining.
My only hesitation in leaving this review is I want it to be available for us again next year!

We will be back!! Myself and 3 friends stayed here for one night during a cross country motorcycle trip. It’s the first place we’ve stayed that was hard to leave :) We would have loved to stay another few days just to take in more of the surrounding sites. I just can’t say enough about how wonderful it was. We plan to make it an annual visit.

This place has become a must on our anniversary! Our second time staying here to celebrate 17 years of being married and we could not have been more pleased. Mark and Sai take excellent care of this property and there have been several new additions since our last visit. They added a wonderful outdoor eating space-fully equipped with a grill and outdoor seating! If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful Colorado getaway then look no further! We cant wait to return.

This is a beautiful warm cabin.It was close to town and paths but great to lookout at the wild life and mountains as I read near the flame of the wood pellet stove. The hosts were friendly and helpful.They live next store but the cabin is private. There's a wonderful patio with grill to enjoy in warmer weather. A last minute find that I will return to.

This cabin was just magical. When we arrived Mark, the host, had the fireplace on, and it felt very warm and cozy. The window provided an amazing view of the mountains. The beds were so comfortable, it felt like home. Mark would check up on us to make sure if we needed anything. Always on top of everything to provide a pleasant stay for us.
We had the chance to chat with Mark a couple of times, and we had great conversations. He made us feel at home.
My family and I felt very welcome during our stay. We look forward to coming back to Colorado and staying here again.

If you like Ridgway and cabins, this is the place. We have been visiting Ridgeway for over 30 years and the cabin is truly the best located. We had never stayed in a log cabin before and found it very well built and comfortable. Mark the manager was terrific from the moment we arrived. Cabin was well appointed in all respects. Would recommend this cabin for family or small group. We will definitely be back!

We wish we could give an extra star! We wish we had arranged to stay longer! This is a beautiful, clean log house with a wall of windows from top floor to bottom floor. Comfortable beds! The view was phenomenal. We saw so much wildlife right around the house from every window we looked out, including white-tailed bucks doing sparring practice. Dark sky at night for star-gazing, meteor-watching. Easy drives to spectacular places like Telluride, Ouray, Black Canyon. The house is on its own huge property but it's a short, easy drive to get to town to go shopping, etc. The hosts are so nice. On-the-spot communication when you need them, non-intrusive if you don't.

We cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was here. The host was responsive and the home was so beautiful. This is a great place to stay for all seasons. We stayed in August where we went jeeping and did day trips to Silverton and Ouray. And we did plenty of porch sitting.

My wife and two friends booked Mark and Sai’s place for our weeklong trip to the San Juan region to hike and ride Jeep trails. Hands down, this is perhaps the best (of many) rentals I’ve ever experienced.
The property is amazing. It’s the perfect balance of private mountain views, yet so close to both Ridgway and Ouray. The log cabin, the barn, the cows, it’s all incredible.
Mark and Sai live onsite in the house next door - they are so friendly and hospitable. They care for the cabin rental like it’s their own. Top appliances, mattresses, and amenities - all first class.
I would book this again a thousand times over. I can’t wait to return!

I stayed with a couple of friends for a few days of hiking and canyoneering. The log cabin is beautiful and very well-appointed. A lot of small thoughtful things like hooking up the Keurig directly to water so it doesn't have to be refilled. The kitchen was great and my friend who likes to cook really enjoyed it. The rest of the cabin was equally nice and we particularly liked staying out on the patio, having drinks and enjoying the view of the valley and mountains. Mark (who lives on the property) is a wonderful, gracious host and we enjoyed getting to know him. Can't wait to go back.

We had a great stay at the cabin just outside of Ridgeway. Great country feel and minutes to town. Great roomy Cabin. Excellent hosts. Checkin process very smooth. The location with killer views of the big mountain and laid back feel of Ridgeway was perfect for our family. We have an 8 month old and the host even had a crib set up and ready for us!! Would love to come back and stay again.

We made a last minute booking for our anniversary/birthday weekend and we are so happy we did! If a vacation rental could encapsulate all that is CO, this is it. The fresh air, natural hot springs and wild animals all around us. The picture perfect views of the mountains are absolutely breathtaking, the rustic beauty of the cabin and surrounding landscape are priceless and the hospitality of the owners will leave you feeling like you came to visit a family member. (The ones you actually like)
Everything you need is here and they take great care to ensure that you are comfortable. We had a bottle of “adult grape juice” waiting for us upon arrival to celebrate our special occasion (Mahalo guys). The cabin was extra clean and fully stocked with toiletries, a commercial keurig, pot/pans, linens, pamphlets for local activities and even menus for the nearby restaurants! This place does NOT disappoint. We can’t wait to return.

We loved our stay! The log cabin feel is wonderful, and goes right along with the beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains reaching over 14,000 feet! The home is very well appointed and the beds are extremely comfortable. Being close to the little town of Ridgeway is nice, yet you still get the feel of being in the country. And a bonus that Ouray, CO is only 10 minutes away, “the Switzerland of America”! The host Mark was great and available if anything is needed. We’ll most certainly be going back! Hospitality. Views. Comfort. Quiet.
The owner is so nice and we sat on the back porch just chatting for nearly half an hour my first evening there. He offered to take me to breakfast the next morning, and even let me feed his horse a couple of carrots just to be nice. Very warm and welcoming experience. The place is beautiful and comfortable as well. The view will bring tears to your eyes. What a lovely place to share with travelers. Thank you so much Mark and Sai!

5 stars all the way! Beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept on. Hot showers with great shower head. Kitchen well equipped. Super Keurig set up with direct reverse osmosis filtration. Beautiful stone fireplace. Views wonderful. Close to restaurants in Ridgway. Get a tour of the amazing barn. Deer and Turkey came to visit. Highly recommend. Host Mark wonderful.

This beautiful log cabin was perfect in every way. Super clean, very well furnished including a great kitchen, filtered water and fabulous coffee maker. Attention to detail was obvious, care was taken to make our stay comfortable. This is a perfect location to explore the amazing beauty of this area of Colorado. Surprised in a good way
After traveling to several different destinations in Colorado for sight seeing and Side by side riding, this was our last stop for a few nights before heading home. All the other properties we rented were greatly lacking in cleanliness and amenities. This place was fabulous!!! Cleaner than any place we had stayed. All the amenities you could want, comfortable beds… AND owners who live nearby and are fully vested in their rental property to make it clean and ready for each renter. Thank you Mark and Sai for the wonderful experience of staying in such a beautiful cabin with equally beautiful views.

Dream get away.
Coffee on the front porch every morning the view is amazing. Ouray is less than ten minutes away. Fantastic hiking and 4x4 riding there. Ended up Loving Ridway dinner and walks in Ridway has that high country home town vibe.
Mark the property manager knocked himself out made us feel like we should just move on in. You need nothing the kitchen is well stocked with all that's needed for a comfortable stay.
Certainly a premier host.
We will be back.
The area is UTV friendly on the county roads lots of trails and the San Juan's are a 15 minute haul to snagging areas. There are several on the 550 aka the million dollar hwy.

Incredible, relaxing place to stay
Terrific Stat. Mark met us on arrival and already had the fireplace prepped in case we wanted to make smores for the kids. He showed us around the place, how everything worked, and checked in with us intermittently. Easily one of the most wonderful hosts I've had. The place itself is lovely - renovated log cabin with very, very cozy beds and a great view of the mountains. We sat out on the deck each night and looked at the stars - so amazing it there away from city lights. We spent our days exploring ouray and ridgway, hiking some trails as well as driving up last dollar pass and to elk meadows. Just a wonderful place. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Spacious and Quiet Home
We enjoyed our stay in Ridgway very much, especially sitting on the front porch watching the prairie dogs play nearby. It is near both Telluride and Ouray which we enjoyed visiting. The owner came over and oriented us to the house and firepit/BBQ area. Only drawback was the rough gravel road in, since we had a brand new car without a lot of ground clearance.

We loved our stay! The log cabin was perfect for our stay in Ridgeway. It was a great home base for travel into Telluride and Ouray too. The beds were super comfy and our group loved relaxing on the porch each day to admire the beautiful view. Mark was a terrific host - flexible, helpful, kind and easy to contact. Thank you!

Ridgway Rarity
Our stay in Ridgway was peaceful. The log cabin was rustic with a few modern touches. It was very quiet, and there were two different herds of deer that frequent the front yard, as well as a group of wild turkeys. The view off the front porch was breathtaking with Ouray to the left and Mt. Sneffels in the front. The house was within walking distance to downtown Ridgway to hit a restaurant (with hit or miss hours of operation in November) or the awesome ice cream shop. Unfortunately, the internet went down while we were there and had no capability to make a phone call, look up hiking trails, etc. Overall, the time we spent at the log cabin was restful and rejuvenating.

Pretty Much Perfect
I would like to say it was terrible so everyone else stays away from it, haha. But, it was so wonderful. My friends were so impressed with it snd complimented my pick several times. The cabin is so wonderful and cozy. The views were spectacular and it was close to town while seeming private. The perfect distance between Ouray and Telluride . Apparently the oven isnt for use, so make sure you note that . It’s not very clear at all on the listing, but a note was in the folder of welcome stuff . Mule deer were with us all the time, and turkeys. It was wonderful . Lovely places to eat in the quaint town . Thank you Sandy and Kirk .
