This worked out perfectly for our group.

Meh
The house was in a good neighborhood and location was fantastic. The house itself wasn’t overly clean considering the price of the cleaning fee. It smelled very musty. The main TV would not connect to wifi so we had to hotspot off our phones to watch football. Overall it was fine, but not outstanding by any means.

Bait and Switch
We never got to see what this property was like. The morning of our stay we were notified that it was double-booked for the first night of our stay. The property owner had an apartment that was available that would sleep four. We stayed in the apartment for our two night stay. Not as nice as having a house but it worked. The owner said he would adjust the charge for our stay. Repeated attempts via text and phone call have been ignored. Since this is a prepaid arrangement, we paid for an entire house and stayed in a two-bedroom apartment. Not inclined to use VRBO in the future.

Great Location
Communication was great with owner, check in/out very easy and wonderful location near everything. The house was great for us but if you have older persons in your group this might not be a good choice. No railings on the stairs and they are a little steep but for us it was great. Would stay again with family

Great location in Sioux Falls
Well located, well equipped, efficient check in. Kitchen has everything a group would need. Comfortable beds, abundant linens. AC excellent and kept us comfortable at 85 and 90%humidity-a feat in such an old house. Decor is dark and a bit dingy.
Others have mentioned the safety issue of no railings-this is a REAL hazard and there is a stairwell drop off into the basement at the side entrance. Enough risk that our group of older women did not use that entrance.
Never used TV-too busy. Wifi never worked despite contacting owners and changing passwords. Ultimately not important to our group but if you NEED wifi definitely assure in advance that you'll have it.
We would return to this property. It would be perfect for a family reunion with large, fenced back yard, nice patio and short walk to lovely McKennan Park.

Pictures posted on web-site were lovely, but nothing like the property inside or out...
First impression...house on the outside appeared nice enough, however the landscaping was in need of work...lots of weeds, etc. We called when we arrived as instructed, but were not able to get in touch with the owner. We tried at least four times in a 45 minute period. Luckily there was a man working there in basement office who told us the owner thought we were not coming until the next day August 2nd although all of our paperwork said August 1st. So then he started trying to call the owner also and was fainlly able to get in touch with him and ask him to call us.
Inside: Very small and COZY. There definitely would not have been room for more than the six that we had. You could not reach any of the levels of the home without going up or down at least five steps including going coing into the home from the outside. One bathroom was in the basement (granted a nice bath, but it was in the basement and you had to go down at least six steps. The laundry was also there and it was coin operated (our first experience with having someone charge for laundry)
The other bath and all the bedrooms were on a second floor with two flights of stairs neither of which had a guard rail to hold onto to go up and down and then the third floor space was also up another flight of stairs. We are an older couple who had planned to have our family stay with us which included an 8, 6 and 18 month old. There was no way I was going to try and go up and down those stairs without a guard rail (to go to bed and TO THE BATHROOM) AND I certainly didn't want my grandchildren to have to do that to go to bed or to go some place to play. We refused the property. Oh yes, this was after over an hour of not being able to speak to the owner...he finally called back and couldn't understand why we wouldn't want to stay there .after all it did show a picture of the steps to the upstairs without a guard rail and we should have just assumed that since it was an older home there was no bathroom on the main floor.
We did not receive any kind of refund or even an offer of one from him so I must say
if you are older and have any kind of problem walking or climbing or have smaller children this is DEFINITELY NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. Plus the pictures are very deceiving concerning the main floor kitchen/living area...it is pretty small..There are much better options in Sioux Falls and the owner may actually be available when you drive in after being in the car for 14 hours

We originally booked this home for a party of 13 and were assured it had adequate space - were not told it would be extremely cramped. Thankfully, four in our party ended up not staying with us - there is by no means enough proper bedding for a larger party and we still felt cramped with our smaller group (the kids slept upstairs in a converted attic, which would not warm up well and I have serious doubts was properly permitted). The nickel-and-diming was a nice bonus, too. Watch for the pointless surcharge of $25/person per night above a certain number (didn’t seem the house expanded to accommodate us, so not sure what we paid for), the - wait for it - coin-operated laundry machines and keep eyes on your security deposit. We were charged an inordinate amount for some grease marks or something on - wait for it again - Fieldcrest sheets. After several attempts at follow-up with the owner (including asking to just call that even because the water heater was turned to low - cold showers on Thanksgiving morning for everyone!), he went silent after repeated follow-ups. If there was a Ritz in Sioux Falls, would recommend staying there for the same amount. But.....save some (by some, I mean tons of) money and find a great hotel. Sure, you’ll miss out on the gorgeous early 1990’s decor here, but enjoy the pool (it’ll probably be warmer than our first showers), free breakfast and the cash you’ll save. Extra star for the history of the home. And willow tree. Who doesn’t love willow trees?

Historical charm with updated conveniences in a fantastic location.
Staying in Sioux Falls? Stop looking and stay here!
This historic home is loaded with charm but has been beautifully updated making it extremely comfortable. Our recent stay was enjoyed by 4 adults and 3 kids and we all had plenty of space for our belongings and very comfortable sleeping. The kids loved the converted attic and claimed that space as their own. We loved BBQ'ing in the backyard too! The location is central to everything you want to do in Sioux Falls. We really enjoyed the short walk to gorgeous McKennan park. The owners are wonderful to work with, very friendly, accommodating, and responsive. Loved it!

Beautiful home in historic downtown area!
This home was beautiful, clean and located in a very nice area. Very convenient location to downtown Sioux Falls. We had 7 of us staying and we all slept and stayed comfortably. The upstairs loft was very nice to have as it has two twin beds and a futon. This home met our every need and we will definitely stay here again if we return to Sioux Falls. Owner very friendly and easy to work with as well.
