About this bed and breakfast
This 2 bedroom, 1 bath unit (1000 sqft) has a private backyard, and includes one parking spot in a garage. Other than the garage ,which is shared with on other unit, there are no other shared areas since you can conveniently enter the rental directly from the garage. Please note, some noise can be heard. from upstairs, If sensitive to noise, this could be an issue.
We are cleaning all surfaces with EPA-registered household disinfectants.
Large vehicals over 17 feet long will not fit into garage, and free street parking would have to be used. Typically spots can be found within a 1.5 blocks. Standard size SUVs will fit.

This property is located west of Coast Hwy, and thus an easy 8 minute walk to the beach, or a 4 minute walk to the many different restaurants and shops in the area . Located in the quiet neighborhood of South Oceanside, you will be just over 1 mile away from the Village of Carlsbad to the south and the busy Oceanside pier area just north. Each bedroom leads to a private backyard with a sitting area, gas weber grill and dining table.
Built by a local builder in 2010 for himself to live in, it has many upgrades such as 10 foot ceilings, custom solid wood doors, and a beautifully tiled bathroom. In your dedicated garage parking spot, you will have 2 beach bikes (additional bikes available upon request), 4 beach chairs, beach umbrella, boogie boards, and even beach toys for the kids. I can provide a smaller bike for a child and a pack-in-play/booster seat, if you let me know in advance.
TVs in all rooms with standard cable channels including DVR recording capability. High speed wireless WIFI is also provided.
Located less than a 1 mile from two main highways (Hwy 5 and Hwy 78) , it is easy to visit family and friends anywhere in the area.
Legoland Amusement Park (10 miles), shopping malls (5 miles), biking, sport fishing, and golfing. Sea World (40 miles), the San Diego Zoo (45 miles), the San Diego Wild Animal Park (35 miles), and numerous other San Diego spots are a short drive or train ride away. Disneyland (60 miles) and Knott's Berry Farm (66 miles) are popular destinations to the north.

We had a great time in South O. We loved the high ceilings, the enclosed patio, the garage access, the beach equipment, the hummingbirds, butterflies and ocean breezes! Warren was an attentive and kind host.

We had a wonderful visit in June. The property was located in a great area of Oceanside within walking distance to tons of things to do and great places to eat and drink. The house was very clean. Warren was a great host and easy to communicate with. We’d love to come back.

This VRBO was great for our week vacation. Very clean and stocked. It even has a garage with bikes, beach chairs and boards. It was so nice having a garage so we didn't have to try to find parking! Great location! So many places to walk to. We will be back!

Very convenient location to some great local restaurants and coffee shops. Also, it’s a very short walk to the shore and to Bucc’s coffee and Buccaneer Park.
The bedrooms are comfortable and each has its own door to the private backyard. The garage access is a plus.
This is a great “home away from home”. We will definitely consider this property if we are in the area again.
The host was very responsive and accommodating.

My mom and I spend a week away from the family every year for the past 20 years . First time in Oceanside and loved our place. Warren you were great . We really didn't need you . Everything we needed and more was there.

My husband and I stayed here after our wedding, and it was the best location for a low-key, relaxing beach vacation. We walked everywhere we needed to go, and we got the beach time we were looking for. There were so many restaurants and cafes nearby. Warren was very proactive and responsive in regards to communication. Excellent host!

Nice property in South Oceanside. All the beach chairs and toys you need. Very attentive owner. Nice rain shower in bath. Cute little park in walking distance for our dog to get some exercise in the mornings and grab a breakfast burrito or taco. at Buccaneer Park Cafe before you start your day.

Warren was communicative and responsive as host, and clearly maintains his well equipped property to a high standard. Location is only a few minutes walk from a couple small beaches and park. Easy highway access a few minutes inland. The small private patio was very nice. Our small dog was a welcome as we were. Would definitely stay again.

Clean, comfortable and great location to the beach and great restaurants. My friend and I stayed here for the Carlsbad Half Marathon, and the accommodations were perfect! Although it rained most of the time, there was never a shortage of things to do.

This is a very clean and quiet property that is close to the beach. The unit is very well equipped with most everything you will need.

A perfect spot for a mini getaway. Close to beaches, larger sandy beach is a bit farther, shopping and restaurants. The unit was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. The use of bikes, beach chairs, umbrella and use of beach towels was an added bonus. Thank you.

Very nice place in a great location! There are two small, beautifully rocky beaches just a short walk away. Larger, sandy beaches are a bit further. It is a short walk to Vigilante Coffee, South O Brewing Company, The Privateer Coal Fire Pizza, Best Pizza & Brew, and Primo Market. We enjoyed them all! Leave your car in the garage and relax!

We were here for the Oceanside 70.3 race and location wise it was close enough to everything we could ride the bikes down there without any issues and do what we needed to. The check in process was also super easy and no issues at all getting to and inside the guest house. Appliances and other conveniences were great and did what we needed, also the washer / dryer are upgrades from what was in the listing images, so that was a plus and great to use.
The property was pretty clean, but after looking at everything it appears as though they just went through with a swifter and cleaned the top surfaces of everything. The pictures in the listing must have been taken right after a deep clean of the place because:
1) The walls had scuffs on it and dirt on the window sills / some of the blinds.
2) Outside patio had webs on the underside of some of the chairs, had to brush some of the dirt off as well. Bbq didn't look as clean as the posted image.
3) On top of almost all the pictures there was a layer of dust as well as some white hair. Don't know if was dog or cat.
4) Shower looks like it could use a fresh caulk strip as the previous is wearing away and didn't look good.
5) On the beach towel I used, there was white hair on it as well which made drying off an interesting experience.
Outside of the above we enjoyed our stay and would most likely book again.

Lovely Happy Place to Winter
This property is a well planned and maintained home away-from-home. Warren was especially helpful when during our two month stay we had a question or some minor issue (bulb out in a nightlight). The house is so central to everything we wanted to do that we walked everywhere. Builders grade finishes and well proportioned rooms made it a very comfortable place to stay. Very orderly, too.! Easy Living Unit ground level tiled floors
The master bed was very comfortable and the location great. Garage parking very handy. We were close walk to beach and Carlsbad. Nights we slept very good because it is a very quiet location, commuter train whistles not an issue and no freight trains here Oceanside has many sites and loved the nice sunny patio with access off both bedrooms. Warren provides us with everything we requested. Relaxing time enjoyed the large screen TV’s with local, cable stations plus Netflix and Prime thru the Roku TV. We stayed in February 2020.
