Fantastic cottage fully renovated to the highest standard. Lots of space and privacy with all rooms having separate bathrooms.
The kitchen/lounge space with access to the two gardens is immaculate and it is where we spent most of the time.
Fully enclosed garden and driveway where our dogs ran freely with no dangers.
The owners were available on whatsapp and assisted with all our requests.
Perfect location if you want to access Canterbury. The centre is literally 2 min. away. However the property was so beautiful that we spent most of the time in the cottage.

Perfect family trip
This gorgeous townhouse is the perfect place for a family stay near the city centre. The home is very spacious, made for gathering in the beautiful new kitchen extension and lovely private courtyard. There is a ton of space to spread out amongst the 3 spacious levels, and the cosy lounge areas with fireplaces are ideal for relaxing with a book on cool, rainy days. The location is a short walk to Waitrose or into the city centre, and the included parking spaces are an added convenience when looking to drive to some of the nearby attractions like Dover, Margate, and Broadstairs. The owner provided plenty of information to help make the stay as easy and comfortable as possible. We absolutely loved our stay at this property, and definitely plan to stay again on our next trip to Canterbury!

The photos of this property simply do not do it justice. The finish and design of this house is quite remarkable. Our family of mixed ages all came together in the evening in the large kitchen and eating area which is found through a glass way that leads from the main house. However the main house however has 2 separate sitting rooms and 3 bedrooms all of which are quite separate and allow privacy. The house benefits from being in an extremely quiet location but many bars and restaurants are all within walking distance. A perfect stay for us this year.

Absolutely stunning house, highly recommend but the photos don’t do it justice,
This house is incredible and we had a wonderful 8 night stay at Whitweek. The Manager Derek was there to greet us as we pulled into the private gated drive alongside the house and he showed us how everything worked. He’d also been kind enough to email me some info a fortnight earlier after I asked for some restaurants to celebrate our wedding anniversary on the 1st night of our stay so I could pre-book a table.
The house comprises 3 old cottages knocked into one with a large modern kitchen, utility, bathroom and dining area extension added on. Some houses on the street go back to the 17th century so lots of character mixed in with the contemporary extension with its huge bifold doors onto an enclosed paved & planted courtyard. Next door is Phoebes Cafe & an adjoining gate means cooked breakfasts, hot drinks etc can be delivered. The owner brought us a delicious homemade cake to celebrate our anniversary which was a lovely touch.
Next door to Phoebes is a pub called the The Two Sawyers which has a small beer garden, smart interiors & excellent food so you don’t need to go far for nice meals. I should add there was no noise from these establishments either.
On the ground floor there’s a spacious hallway, downstairs bathroom, 2 lounges and a snug with a small TV. These are set in the old cottages so lots of lovely quirky features. There’s a fully glassed walkway to the kitchen extension which has a large table, every mod con, including microwave & freezer and an amazing TV. We spent some of our evenings here watching tv and planning the next days outing.
On the 1st floor there’s a large landing, a spacious single bedroom, a huge main bedroom with wardrobe area & large modern ensuite with a fab shower. It had a very comfY Super King bed too. You go through a study type room to a wooden spiral staircase to an enormous converted loft bedroom with 2 single beds, lots of storage & it’s own very large ensuite.
I read some criticism of these stairs but there’s a wall on each side and a handrail on the other so it’s very safe as long as you watch your step. My 2 teens had no issues with the stairs and loved sleeping up there but probably not for the elderly or very small children. The room is so stunning that it makes it all worthwhile.
The position is also an ideal base as only a 10 min walk to the centre of Canterbury & 20mins drive to the Coast.
We heartily recommend this house & only advice is to update the photos to show its true merit.

A beautiful conversion to give a spacious and luxurious home for your holiday. Being able to park two cars is a real bonus. It is in a perfect location for accessing the city centre and then trips out to the Kent villages and coast. There are local supermarkets just a two minute walk away so easy to pick up any last minute bits needed. Greeted with a freshly baked cake and someone nearly to help with any queries that you may have means that you are assured of a positive welcome and stay.

Five adults very much enjoyed staying in this cottage. It is comfortable, with three discreet bedrooms and living and dining areas. It has a bonus garden room (and a garden) and parking, which we did not have to use. Owner provided appropriate appliances and supplies.

Wonderful house in great location
We had a great family holiday (3 generations) we loved the house , the conservatory and secret garden and to be able to park the car and just walk into town is such a bonus.
Derek was very helpful with our one query and made us most welcome - we had a nice meal in the Two Sawyers and enjoyed exploring Canterbury. Hopefully be back again another time. Many thanks .

A Gem close to city center
This wonderful property became my home for 2 1/2 months this summer. It was the perfect place!
The location to Canterbury was perfect, just a short walk and you are in the city center. It is also easy to get to any of the wonderful coastal towns in Kent. You can also easily catch the train from Canterbury West and be in London in under an hour. Although no car needed, there is LARGE private parking secured by a gate. Next door is a tea room and sandwich shop and next to that is a pub that serves lunch and dinner. There is a grocery store literally right behind the property.
The bedrooms are large and accommodating. This home would be good for large families or groups of friends looking for a nice get away. I will say the stairs that go from the office to the loft are dangerous. They are steep, and the treads are small and adult sized feet don’t fit on them unless you go up sideways. They are also covered by carpet that is worn and slippery. The only railing for support is a rope on the wall. I would not plan on older members of your party to use the upstairs bedroom, it is too precarious. My son fell down them and we both slipped on them several times.
The kitchen, although very small and dated, had everything you needed to make a family meal at home from scratch. There is no freezer, as all the reviews have noted, and this would have been a welcomed item this summer in the record breaking heat. There is ample seating in the dining room and also in the conservatory for eating in. There are 2 1/2 bathrooms, but only the main hall bathroom has a shower. The master en suite has a tub, but no shower sprayer. The closet space in the bedrooms is beyond anything you could wish for! There is a LARGE, but terribly overgrown south facing garden. This makes a great place for the birds to nest and your car will get extremely messy as well as the table and chairs on the paved patio area. The owners allow pets and this is a wonder garden to allow them to roam and play. There is a washer and dryer on site which was great for long staying tenants.
I can not say enough nice and wonderful things about the owners, Eric and Shelia. They were so helpful and accommodating during my stay. They replied to my emails in a timely fashion and when problems occurred they were taken care of immediately. Although the owners are not based locally, the lovely couple next door, Derrick and his wife, are available and willing to help. Highly recommended!❤️❤️

The house was perfect for our few nights in Canterbury, visiting the University and friends. We thought it was very comfortable, and the garden was lovely and very safe for our Jack Russell. A toaster in the kitchen would have been handy and for a longer stay a freezer would probably benefit people.
The children loved their rooms, especially the attic. A heater may be useful up there in the colder months. The children also commented that headboards on the beds would have been useful. We did point out to Dennis before we left that the rope on the attic stairs was coming away from the wall.
The welcome we had was lovely and we felt very much at home with our goody basket which was very much appreciated. We are honoured to have been your first guests and it was lovely to meet you Sheila. Many thanks for your hospitality.
