About this house rental
Tastefully styled to reflect the nautical inspiration of the area with crisp white and sailor blue walls, vintage Cornish artwork, anchor and stripe soft furnishings. A cosy sitting room is perfect to relax in after a day on the water. Lead through to the separate kitchen with circular dining table all set for family meals and holiday living. Three beautiful bedrooms over two higher floors continue the nautical theme with sumptuous beds and white linens complemented by striped floor rugs and cushions. This coastal cottage is of a high standard and well equipped for your stay.
The kitchen door leads out to a characterful private courtyard garden with wooden dining table and chairs, lovely Fowey River views enable you to check for fair winds and calm seas! This private al fresco space really does capture the morning sun so breakfast in the garden is on the cards. The Hideout really is a fabulous coastal retreat suitable for families and couples alike. It is located on Lostwithiel Street in the heart of Fowey so everything really is on your holiday doorstep. Unlike many of the streets in Fowey, Lostwithiel Street does allow vehicular access so you can conveniently pull up right outside the property to unload. Fowey is nestled between Looe and Mevagissey on the south Cornish coast, an designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its natural harbour making it a mecca for talented yachtsmen. This once sleepy town is now alive with bustle from the boutique shops, chic cafes, exhibiting galleries, restaurants and fine dining hotels. Take a gentle stroll along the Esplanade or don your walking boots for the popular Hall walk bringing you neatly back to a local pub. This delightful Cornish harbour town really does offer something for everyone to enjoy all year round. The Hideout is a real gem be it family, friends or couples looking to immerse themselves in traditional Cornish life.

We have had a great time. The apartment left nothing to be desired and was centrally located. The landlords were very helpful and approachable at any time.

With great views. Having stayed in lots of properties around Fowey great location and clean. Frustrating to not have salt/pepper/cooking oil/enough hand soap. These sort of things are expected with rentals

Excellent location, clean and charming, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, generous quantity of linens and towels, beautiful views and charming bells. Very helpful contact person.

The Hideaway is exceptionally well cared for, with outstanding cleanliness especially for a holiday let that takes pets. The house is a superb location for enjoying all Fowey has to offer. Despite no parking outside, loading worked well and parking is a 5 minute walk away at Hanson Road. We are a couple who like plenty of space so wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to couples with furry friends and would 100% stay again.

Very cute property, comfortable, tastefully decorated & well equipped as described in close proximity to Fowey centre & beautiful surroundings. Lovely little courtyard garden with wonderful view. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

A very old and nicely situated cottage. It must have been a long season as there were a few niggly maintenance issues that needed attending to. For instance the front door was stuck solid and took a hefty shoulder to get it open . The lock on the back door didnt work either. I fixed by a purchase of wd40 and silicon spray. If I'd brought my tools I could have fixed it permanently. Cleanliness was just ok, quite a few cob webs.
Cottage is situated on a steep hill and vehicle access is very difficult with no parking close by.

Beautiful cottage, spotlessly clean. Welcome package including fresh coffee. Perfect location and wonderful views. We all enjoyed every minute of our stay and will be looking to book again in a couple of years. Thank you to the owners.

The Hideout is a great location for exploring Fowey, Polruan and the surrounding coastline. The house (although in need of a lick of paint) is well presented and provided everything we needed.

Been visiting Fowey for 15 years. Perfect location for us as a family (2 adults & 2 children aged 9 & 12)

Lovely house
Great stay at the Hideout, ticked all the boxes for us, lovely location for the town, parking easy with the JustPark app and the main car pack at top of the hill, decent trek uphill from house to car park but not a problem. Fowey town is lovely, lots of nice restaurants, great chippie, and Rubys for ice cream, Carylon beach great, £5 for parking then 80 steps to beach, bar/cafe/beach shop and hire place for all water based activities.

Fowey town cottage
Located on a steep hill but only 1 min walk to the useful supermarket and bakery, this is a very pretty well appointed town cottage. Parking is a strenuous walk uphill to a public car park and about £40 for the week.
Delightful master bedroom with stunning view of the church tower and harbour beyond.
You do get used to the seagulls and clock chimes throughout the night.
Well equipped kitchen and outdoor space with table and chairs.
We loved our week.

Lovely Cottage
Cottage had everything you would need for a holiday in gorgeous Fowey. Top bedroom has amazing views, is very comfortable & spacious. I would definitely book this cottage again.
There is a fairly steep climb from the town to the cottage & even more of a steep incline from the cottage to the car park. Because of this, would not recommend to someone with mobility problems, However, for myself it was great & helped walk off some of those cream teas.

Second Stay at Hideout

Great stay in Fowey
Perfect property for a break in Fowey which must be one of the best locations in Cornwall.

lovely property, lovely location
Great space, really well stocked, great location. The space is great for 3 adults, but might be a little tight for 5 adults.
Information supplied was really helpful before the trip, and the team were really responsive when talking to them.
Whilst you can pull up outside the property to unload, if you have a big car then people can't get past you, so just be aware you'll cause a queue. Most people seemed really patient but we did have a grumpy person too

Hideout treat
Throughly enjoyed our break away and opportunity to catch up with old friends. Found the property clean and very cheerful. However the top floor was I found a bit cold at night and adjusting the thermostat didn’t on the landing opposite a warm bathroom didn’t help. Despite this I would stay again and recommend it to others, many thanks!

Lovely comfortable property - a little impracticable in places
The stairs up to the top floor were a little bit of a challenge - especially seeing as the sole toilet is on the middle floor of the 3 story property. Was a slight challenge with a couple mobility issues. Very minor detail as everything else was great.

We had a wonderful time! The cottage is very central and is super comfy - thoroughly recommend.

our week break
The property sits in a great position just uphill from the harbour .But be prepared to an uphill walk from harbour to main car park. Also some great places to eat in town

lovely house, nice garden
really nice house with 2 good sized double rooms and a single. there is no parking outside the door, but you can pull in to load and offload which is very handy. Bring earplugs for the seagulls and the church bells!

Fantastic stay at The Hideout.
We had an amazing week during the heat wave! The Hideout is welcoming and perfect for a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. Communication with the host was very good. It is perfectly positioned to walk to Fowey where all the restaurants and bars are. We had lots of coastal walks, straight from the doorstep. Visits to the Lost gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project. Parking was really close and you could pay for the whole week on the app. Just wished that we could have stayed longer!

Fun in Fowey
Had a lovely stay in Fowey, which is beautiful, especially when the sun shines. House is a short walk down into town, steep walk back but good exercise! House very comfortable, well furnished and cosy, comfortable bed and nice bedding. Bathroom small with roll top bath and modern shower. Lovely top bedroom and views great. Church bells not a bother. Some fantastic restaurants and lots to do.
Communication with host very good.
Parking- on arrival you need to park up, leave
Cases and then leave the street to park up. 1 car park quite far up from the house, up some steps and an incline to get to. Downloaded the app so left the car and paid from home. There is another car park by the Ferry crossing to Boddinnick. Same price and relatively on the flat.
All in all a lovely week .

Lovely little town house
My partner and I stayed for a week in this townhouse. Its very close to Fowey port which has some nice pubs and restaurants.
Thr house contained everything you need when away from home.
The main car park is up a very steep hill which helped me to get some good walking in too.
I would recommend this property to stay in Fowey.

Great house, top bedroom was very nice with the balcony overlooking the estuary.
Good location for town centre without being right in the middle. Courtyard garden was usefull as well. Double glazing did a good job of keeping the morning seagulls quiet as well.

Week in the Hideout Fowey
Have just returned after a week in Fowey staying at the Hideout. Great location, well equipped and nicely decorated house with everything you need. There were one or two minor niggles, but the owner sorted them out very quickly as soon as we told her, so excellent service. If you want to stay in the centre of Fowey this is a very good option.

Family Stay in Fowey
The property was very clean but much smaller than appeared in the photos. The sitting room was very bland and more like a doctor's waiting room - no curtains, no rug and quite dark.
