Great place to stay for a few days. Considerate staff and comprehensive facilities.

The staff is nice and considerate. We arrived late, it was not office hours, but received both handwritten message and online message in my booking account. They gave us clear instructions on where to park, how to get into our room etc. The view from our room is nice, although we spent most of our time in Mt. Cook, it is a plus. We enjoyed the morning coffee and view before driving to Mt. Cook. They have many facilities that make our stay there very convenient, including all kitchen facilities, fridge, microwave oven, and even toaster. What most impressed us is they even have washing machine and drying rack in the room, saving your money and time for laundry. The location is good, near to the supermarket and restaurants. They assign a parking lot to each room, so there is no need to worry about the parking.

Nothing much to complain about. The only thing is that due to the wooden structure, there is noise of floor cracking when walking around in the room, but we were not bothered by this too much.

Great location, but dated.

Location was great, able to walk to restaurant's, shops etc. Brand new kitchen was very nice.

Bathroom was dated and had mold around the bottom of the shower. Could hear the people upstairs walking around at night as the floor was squeaky.

The person at the front desk was nice but not very knowledgeable; the information was misleading. The room looked Clean but was not really, the garbage bins had garbage from past guests. The towels had a bad smell; wondering if they really washed them or perhaps were put out wet. No cream or tissues either.

Wi-Fi is hopeless, no fresh milk, unwelcoming staff - wouldn’t stay there again!

Location - walkable to town Centre

Old, not overly clean (skirting boards, washing up brush etc ) The hotel didn’t message us (messaged the day we checked out with check-in information) so had to call when we arrived. Waited for manager who then was a bit shirty. He then apologized when he realized he hadn’t messaged us) but not very welcoming. Wi-Fi was terrible! Surely in this day and age it’s a minimum requirement- hard as overseas with no cellular and 2 teenage daughters! No fresh milk like every other motel we’ve stayed at, and no herbal teas. Disappointing!

I'll stay at this motel again-

Location was great. 5 min walk to the shops. Spacious room (I chose theupstairs room), Had someone welcoming us on our arrival. Plenty of parking space. I travelled on a 'moderate budget: This place fitted that. Had a lovely welcome from the proprietor.

Decor was dated? That said I was looking for accommodation within my budget

Location and rooms were great! The room heating was the biggest disappointment

Room was bone cold when we got there, the unit is heated only by two electric portable heaters that really struggled to warm the unit and not up to the job really. The complimentary tea/coffee/sugars tray hadn’t been restocked since last guest it appears

Spacious, quiet, modern unit with a fully equipped kitchenette

We stayed upstairs in the adjoining 3-unit building - it was spacious, warm & the kitchenette was fully equipped with everything you would need for an extended stay. The colonial motel is only 200m or so from the main shop/eatery area of the town. The staff were very welcoming & arranged for us to access the lounge area of a nearby related motel while we waited for our afternoon intercity bus. Good value & would definitely stay here when we return.
