About this house rental
Come enjoy our mountain retreat! This secluded 3000-square-foot craftsman home sits on 5.5 wooded acres set far off of a quiet road in Marbletown. There are three large bedrooms with queen beds (all brand new top-of-the-line memory foam) and a media room with a door that has a queen pull out couch.
The entire home has beautiful wide plank wood floors made with wood from the property. The large open kitchen is well-appointed with a Wolf range, Sub-zero fridge, and Bosch dishwasher with Brazilian granite counters. The connected family room has a wood burning fireplace with custom mason work and a reclaimed wood mantle. The dining area, which is open to the kitchen and family room has a rustic farm table that seats up to 8. A mahogany counter connected to the kitchen has 4 bar seats, great for a casual meal. The media room off of the dining area has a barn door with stained glass detail and houses a 55 inch smart TV. The home has zoned central air and heat to keep you comfortable no matter the weather outside. One of the best features of this house is that it has ample large windows, offering unobstructed views of the pristine property.
The master suite is very large and even has its own private balcony and walk-in closet. The attached master bathroom has a clawfoot bathtub and a marble stand alone shower with both a rain shower head and detachable shower head. The two other bedrooms have large closets and are more than big enough to accommodate rollaway beds, should you need them. The 2nd bathroom upstairs has a large jacuzzi soaking tub and shower. None of the bedroom walls are shared, so that everyone has complete privacy.
The entire interior was repainted in February 2022 and all of the furniture and decor is brand new, including the linens. The first floor has all original artwork by one artist, a beautiful and thoughtful collection. All of the design was chosen with function and aesthetic in mind, as my family and I love to spend time at this house. The furniture is mostly from Anthropologie (including a velvet sectional), West Elm, and Crate and Barrel. Many items are also handmade from Etsy, including the farm table (coming from a family farm in Nebraska) and a large wool rug from Morocco.
The outside offers a partial wrap around porch with Adirondack chairs on one side and a flagstone patio in back with a pergola and comfy outdoor furniture. During the warmer months, the pergola is covered with beautiful red honeysuckle. There is an outdoor fire pit for making s'mores and a new weber propane grill. There is also a large grass area behind the house perfect for playing games in the summer or sledding in the winter. The property is thoughtfully landscaped with a small frog pond that has lily pads and water plants (and, of course, frogs!). There is also a large flower bed with a variety of plants that attract butterflies, caterpillars and birds. Above the house is a wildflower field. Beyond this landscaped area is another 2.5 acres of raw wooded land that offers complete privacy.
There is a garage for car parking and also a porte cochere (car port attached to the house) which makes loading and unloading convenient. The property has a long driveway with room for two parking spots in front of the detached garage and the porte cochere accomodates one vehicle. There is enough space for more vehicles in the driveway, should you need it.
Nearby attractions are plenty and include the Mohonk Mountain House and Nature Preserve, the Minnewaska State Park Preserve, and Sundown Wild Forest. The nearby town of Rosendale has a newly renovated public pool (where you can reserve a swimming lane), tennis courts (we have two rackets and many balls for your use), and baseball fields. Accord has a speedway (4 miles from the house) which is a dirt racetrack that holds racing events during the summer. It is really fun and really dirty! There are several public golf courses, including Roundout Golf Course (6 miles from the house), wineries, and museums. Even though the property is secluded and serene, the location offers a plethora of activities and restaurants.
Whether you are looking for a space for a small group event or just a nice place to enjoy with friends and family, this home and land offer a relaxing retreat. Come and enjoy the home my family and I love so dearly.

Very peaceful
We had a wonderful long weekend with family. The house and property were beautiful and peaceful and especially quiet at night. It was still close enough for daytrips for sightseeing and shopping.

Absolutely Magical
If you believe a house can transport a person to a magical place where worries melt away, animals sing without human interruptions, and time seems to stand still in the stars...then you will love this place. The pictures don't express how lovely and serene this location is nor do they show the beauty of the inside to the full extent. It is the perfect distance away from civilization yet close enough to pop out to a store for a forgotten item. We could not have enjoyed our stay more! Thank you!

Summer Family Get-Together
Wonderful house--great open plan on the first floor with windows all around looking out to the large lawns and woods beyond. Very comfortable and spotless.
We cooked almost all our meals so we really appreciated not only the ample supply of cooking equipment, but a good sized larder of basics that were so helpful to have around.
Owner responded to all queries or issues truly instantly. Couldn't have been more helpful.
Location is great for easy to challenging hikes outdoors. Easy hikes on the new Rail Trail on the north side of the Ashoken Resevoir and incredible trails in Minewaska State Park.
We would love to return!

Beautiful and relaxing getaway
My friends and I had an amazing five-day stay at Kate's beautiful house. She was super communicative in the time leading up to our trip, and provided tons of useful information as well as thoughtful tips on things to do in the area.
The house itself is spacious and well-appointed. We fit seven adults without a problem and had a wonderful time cooking in the amazing kitchen, grilling outside, and enjoying the fantastic view from the patio. Would definitely recommend a stay here if you need a relaxing retreat!

Beautiful and Breathtaking - A Breath of Fresh Air
What a beautiful and thoughtful property, complete with everything you could possibly desire while spending a weekend away in the woods. I spent my 40th birthday here with a small group of my closest friends and we never once found ourself yearning for more to do. The silence, the serenity were blissful. Loved the fire pit, the private forest, the decor, the attention to detail (absolutely loooooved your plates, especially the queen cockatoo). I would definitely recommend this property to any group or family looking to take a step back from the busy hustle and bustle of life.

Unbelievable Scenic Getaway!
This house is absolutely stunning. Everything you could ever want for a fall escape from the city. The interior features stunning design; both cozy and modern. The location couldn't be more scenic, almost like something out of a movie. It was the perfect setting for a fall birthday, and I can't recommend this property enough! Kate was a gracious and accommodating host, and answered all my questions fully and promptly! Thank you again for letting us stay in your beautiful home. It couldn't have been a better experience!

Wow!
We absolutely loved staying in this home! It was incredibly comfortable, well-equipped, and BEAUTIFUL. It had everything we needed for a long weekend with friends, between the firepit, the perfect kitchen, and the comfortable bedrooms. There was everything we needed right there. We would love to come and stay again!

Beautiful home in a beautiful location!
We stayed at this beautiful home for 5 days over Labor Day and had a great time! The house was incredibly clean and stocked with everything you could need. The furnishings were gorgeous, the mattresses very comfortable and the kitchen fully stocked. The back patio was where we spend much of our time, although it was too hot to use the fire pit unfortunately! But we grilled and watched the little frogs much to my son's delight! The nearby towns were pretty--especially liked New Paltz. The owners were super helpful throughout the whole process and provided a booklet of things to do and nearby stores. All in all a great experience in a luxury house! We didn't want to leave!

Simply Smashing
I’m not sure how this property manages to pull off spectacular, homey, spacious, cozy, elegant and family-friendly all at once, but it does and our family could not be happier. My husband loved the big TV, squishy leather couch, WiFi, patio and seclusion. My 9 yo loved the big comfy beds, hunting for frogs, bugs and mushrooms, bird watching, and making s’mores. The 4 yo loved the slip and slide, the rain shower, running on the porch and skidding on the wide plank floors. I loved the clawfoot tub, the gorgeous kitchen, the wildflowers, the sound of crickets, and the quirky farmhouse-meets-midcentury decor. The house was immaculate, the linen closet a thing of beauty. The owners haven’t missed a single detail, right down to the extra blankets and well-stocked pantry. The property was so lovely we could easily have stayed there the entire time, but we also managed to hike in Minnewaska State Park, buy books and ice cream in New Paltz, get a private tour of the Den toy museum in Marbletown, stroll partway across the Hudson walkway, and get a giant bag of costume jewelry for $10 at the flea market in High Falls. But our favorite part was always coming back to the house at the end of the day, to feel peaceful and pampered. We feel so lucky to have found this little oasis, and hope to return soon!
