About this house rental

Our newest home River House is now available (STR permit #2016056024). We are experienced Homeaway/VRBO owners and hosts . If you have a large group, you can also rent our home right next door at the Cumberland Cottage. (Homeaway.com property #3957610).
We use VRBO homes when we travel, so we understand first hand what is expected, and what is needed at vacation rentals. We know just what you’re looking for, and we bend over backwards to deliver it!

The River House is tucked away on a quiet waterfront street that is steeped in history, with several famous old school Opry Stars living nearby. It's private and safe here. There is very little car traffic so it's great for walking around or riding bikes. We see deer, geese and turkey regularly. It's a special neighborhood with friendly folks. Yet, it’s just minutes from the famous Gaylord Opryland Hotel, Opry Mills Mall and THE GRAND OLE OPRY. Within 4 miles there are over 2 dozen Restaurants & Nashville’s biggest Water Park. Downtown is only 15 minutes away, much closer than 95% of the waterfront homes in the greater Nashville Area. Two great golf courses are within 4 miles, uber and lyft are very familiar with the area, and traditional taxi service is not a problem.
Once you get here, you may not feel the need to leave. If you like to cook, you’ll find a well equipped kitchen, with all the pots, pans, and all small appliances of home. Outside on the deck there’s a gas grill ready for serious Bar-B-Q action.

Fresh, crispy linens are provided on each bed. White cotton towels are also provided.
Each morning you’ll enjoy your breakfast and complimentary coffee in the sun-filled dining room, or take a walk down the quiet lane and listen to the birds and the river.
During the day, Use the River House as your base of operations for exploring Nashville, or hang out in the POOL (open May 1 - October 15) and/or Hot tub! In the evening… enjoy the peace and quiet on two full-length front porches. When it’s time to turn in three of the bedrooms sports a king bed, the fourth bedroom features two queen beds. And, If you have a party of twelve, two deluxe inflatable twin mattresses are also available.

Other amenities include Washer & Dryer, Multiple HD TVs with Cable, Blu-Ray players, board games, and High-speed WiFi. All you need to bring is your clothes and your food. We provide coffee and some kitchen amenities. We go the extra mile for our guests and also provide eco-friendly bath soap, shampoo, and conditioner. When you arrive, we can provide a greeter to help you settle into the property, or just leave you the door code prior to your stay. Just let us know what you need and we'll do our best to make it happen.

There were family that drove from Florida and Buffalo New York, we were celebrating six birthdays out of the 11 people, two of them being 21st birthday celebrations. The house was spacious and comfortable and we enjoyed the pool. It was just far enough away from downtown, but still close enough to go down there and have a little fun

Our stay included 12 family members ranging from 6mons-Adults. Each family had their own living quarters in this spacious home. Lovely neighborhood location, close to shopping/food/attractions. Everything was included from a baby gate, to a stroller, to additional blow up mattresses, beach towels, etc. Made our stay seamless. Minor suggestions for repairs: upstairs toilet ran non-stop during our stay. Upstairs bedroom had exterior lock broken off door/bungee cord fastened together. No dish towels during stay. (One downside was listed as “River View” was a far stretch. Listing indicated a view of the river was observed from the home. Incorrect; while river is near the property, it is across the street and hidden by dense, overgrown foliage). (Another downfall was the overwhelming smell of cat urine in the basement, as there were multiple feral cats living in the foundation of the home. Very odd situation where the home owner had to send over the cleaning crew to try to catch them, during our stay). (Lastly, outdoor garbage cans had a horrible smell, even after dumping them. Stored on the driveway near the pool area. The smell would permeate the exterior of the home, making swimming/hot tub unbearable at times.)

The property was nice, very good location. The house could be better equipped in the kitchen. Silverware was very poor and the can opener did not work. The family really enjoyed our stay.

Everyone had a king size bed (3). The private pool was only about 2 1/2 feet deep, which was perfect for our little ones. We used it almost every day.

The house was in a great location. The floor plan worked well for us. Bedrooms and bathrooms were nice. Hot tub was great. The kitchen was ok but needed some TLC, like a better coffee pot (it leaked), and a garbage disposal would be nice. A new air filter is needed too. Overall a nice stay and we would definitely recommend it!

Quick family vacation for Christmas and this house was perfect! Plenty of sleeping space and bathrooms and convenient to Opry Mills, the Grand Ole Opry, and the Gaylord. The host provided timely communication and our stay was great!

We had decided to have an Adult-only weekend in Nashville and rented this house. There were 5 families represented that enjoyed this stay and the local to-do's. The property is well-maintained and had the amenities noted in the listing from a fully stocked kitchen with spices and all cookware to toilet paper and towels. The Master bedroom/bathroom on the 1st floor was a dream! Everyone enjoyed a little seclusion after the nights out in downtown Nashville. The host was super responsive and accommodating from start to finish. We would recommend this property.

We all loved staying at this beautiful home. It was in a peaceful, safe & quiet neighborhood and 20 minutes for us to the wedding we attended. Communication was stellar! Whenever I had a question I received the reply answering my question in minutes. The owner was very kind & gracious. The beds were super comfy and each room had its own bathroom. The master bath is gorgeous. The porches were a dream to sit out on at night. We felt spoiled! Thank you for a great stay & we will definitely be back!

The property was great. Location close to downtown, very well stocked with paper products and cleaning supplies. Very well kept. Although too cold to swim enjoyed the hot tub. Would recommend this property. Lots of room for family time and also good sized bedrooms for privacy. Had fun with the board games. Lovely kitchen had all we needed

Great house with ample space to gather OR get a little time alone. Clean, well-appointed and loved the quiet, beautiful setting with pool, multiple decks and a hot tub! Easy getting to downtown and peaceful when you were down with downtown. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend!

The property was amazing - very clean- well stocked with lots of supplies - even extras, plenty of linens. Bedrooms were perfect for our family and bathrooms immaculate. Had to contact the host John a couple of times with questions and he was so quick to get back to us and helpful. Close enough to Broadway to be able to take Ubers etc...but away from the noise and hustle. One of our best stays thru VRBO yet. Cannot wait to go back!!!

I loved the location. Most mornings there were deer across the road. It seemed secluded but was close to the Opry Land Hotel, the mall, and dining. The house was wonderful. The kitchen had anything you needed for cooking, plus coffee, spices, etc. The kids enjoyed the pool and pool toys were available. The main floor is up a flight of stairs, but it is what it is. We were in contact with our host a couple times before we arrived, and they were professional and accommodating. We were a little disappointed that HBO was advertised but we couldn't figure out how to watch it. We also arrived at 4PM (the agreed upon check-in time) and the cleaning crew was still working.

We had a wonderful time. The house is in a very nice and secluded area, but still very close to downtown Nashville and local attractions. We went multiple times downtown to shop, eat, and see the city. We also rented a pontoon boat at a local marina for the day. House is very clean, spacious, and well maintained. The pool was a hit with the children. We have vacationed in multiple larger houses, and this house was by far the most "guest friendly" and well stocked. It was nice to go to the grocery store and not have to buy all the incidentals you need like toilet paper, spices, coffee filters, and much more. Host is very responsive if you have questions or need to contact him. I highly recommend the home -- you won't be disappointed!

Our group came out for an event and stayed at this property. It was really convenient to the Gaylord Resort where our event was being held. The house was spacious and had enough space for our party of 8. The pool / hot tub was a nice bonus. The kitchen was well stocked with plates/utensils etc. We had a great time!

everything felt like we were at home but yet on vacation. Everything was clean , easy check- in process , tons of space , air up mattress were provided . The house was spacious, clean, and comfortable for our family visit. The location was in a quiet neighborhood and only a short drive to downtown Nashville. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again if traveling to Nashville. The host was attentive to our needs and very easy to contact. I would recommend this property to family and friends. We definitely enjoyed our time here!

This property met all our needs. Perfect size bedrooms, bathroom a plenty and all the amenities to make our stay great. Pool and hot tub got plenty of use. John was able to accommodate an early check in which helped us out!! . Would come back again!

We took a family vacation with some friends to Nashville. We stayed at John’s riverside VRBO and really enjoyed our time there. We found the VRBO to be very clean and as advertised. Our only issue was that we were not able to check in for almost 2 hours beyond our check-in time as the cleaning lady was running late. We would recommend this VRBO.

This was a great place to stay without being far from all the things to do in Nashville. Beautiful dead end street which felt safe. It’s not exactly river view as the trees block that view, but the front porch is great for sitting on and the house had everything we needed.

Nice quiet residential location for a short multigenerational family vacation to Nashville that is not far from the Grand Ole Opry/Opry Mills and typically allowed us to get downtown within ~20 mins. John was very helpful and quick to reply to any questions.
