About this apartment rental
On top of one of the world's most beautiful bays lies a peak called Col de Villefranche. It overlooks the old village of Villefranche-sur-Mer and the surrounding harbors and beaches and is home to beautiful villas and low-rise condominiums. An elegant 5-storey highrise sits on top surrounded by olive groves and orange gardens hiding its lovely swimming pool.
The apartment is located in the center of the building, on the first floor up and has its own separate entrance. A parking space is located just below. The entire apartment looks out over the gardens onto the bay and the harbor light of St. Jean-Cap-Ferrat. The full size terrace serves for many purposes, including dining and entertaining and, of course, sun bathing and picture taking.
Large rooms are elegantly and efficiently furnished and include a Queen size bedroom with ensuite renovated bathroom; a huge living room in which the chesterfields can serve as single beds for the occasional overnight guests, a sitting area, a dining area and telephone cove. A newly renovated fully equipped kitchen, a hall entrance, a renovated bathroom, and a separate washroom complete this perfect apartment.
The apartment is in short walking distance from the renowned International French language school of Villefranche-sur-Mer and therefore an ideal place to combine vacation and studies. It is also perfectly located for access to some of the most dramatic golf courses in France: the Monte-Carlo Golf Club on the Montagel, 1100m ontop of the Principality of Monaco, is just 10 minutes away; the Nice Golf and Country Club boasts an executive size 18-holes, just 30 minutes away over the speed way and many full size golf courses lie within an hours drive.
The center of the Col-de-Villefranche offers a large variety of convenience stores, a bakery, a restaurant and the post office. Public transportation is cheap and frequent taking the traveler in just a few minutes down to the village and beaches, west to Nice in about 10 minutes and east to Èze-Village, Monaco and Menton.

Wonderful apartment overlooking the Mediterranean. Beautiful balcony, perfect location. Quiet, peaceful space with well stocked kitchen.

The apartment was sunny, large and comfortable with a roomy balcony and exquisite view of the sea from every room. Its well equipped kitchen with laundry machine was very practical for my extended stay. Additionally, the private garden with pool provided a quiet place to relax outside in the sunshine. I look forward to another visit!

Another great holiday!
It was our second year at Larry's apartment in Villefranche sur mer, and it was just as perfect as we remembered. Apartment is great and the views from the balcony are unbeatable. Our family of four love the area, and will definitely return. Thank you!

Absolut empfehlenswert !

We have just returned from a fabulous holiday in France. The entire trip was wonderful but the highlight was our stay in Ville-Franche at this lovely apartment. The view is simply amazing and can't really be captured in photos. While we loved Ville-Franche and enjoyed the accessibility to so many great spots our favourite part of every day was our time spent on the balcony. Coffee and fresh pastries from the boulangerie up the road on the balcony every morning; wine and relaxation every evening after our fabulous day trips to other beaches and towns in the area.
This apartment is spacious and has a great layout with every room having sliding doors to the balcony. It is well equipped with everything you might need.
The pool is fantastic and very well maintained as is the entire property.
The owner was exceptionally helpful and easy to book with. He shared great and useful information about the apartment, Ville-Franche and the entire Cote d'Azur area.
Our family of 4 can't wait to return one day.

Our perfect family get-away
Larrys apartment in ´Le California´ has been our perfect vacation base for two years in a row now. The first stay in the Summer of 2016 was just amazing for my family with four young boys my wife and I. We have never before repeated a vacation because we want to explore new spot and seek new adventures. Still we chose to return back to back to Villefrance-sur-Mer and Nice. We did not regret! As a base for a very active family we once again found a perfect balance of tranquillity on the balcony and the many fun hours by the pool and in the many small villages around Nice and Cote'd'Azur. We did snorkling in the ocean and I was free diving with Chango Diving school. Just brilliant. We highly recommend the location and this apartment with the most superb view to the village and sea. We are big fans and will most likely return sometime in the future.
Deposit has been returned quickly after both stays.

A Fantastic Place to Stay in Villefranche-sur-Mer
My wife and I stayed in this apartment for a week in June, 2017. The view of the bay and Cap Ferret were incredible. The apartment was very well furnished, had lots of information on local restaurants and places to visit and we really liked the well equipped kitchen and modern bathroom. The pool was a welcome relief after a warm day. The apartment was even more impressive than the pictures and description depicted it. It was very clean and well maintained. The owner was in contact with us during our stay and provided great customer service. During our stay we did several walks down to the old town section and the Citadel, visited several nearby restaurants, walked along the waterfront and enjoyed the local beaches. The town is well served with train and bus service to local towns and attractions. We took the bus to St. Jean and hiked around Cap Ferrat with great views of the Mediterranean Sea and back to Villefranche. We also took a bus to Eze-le Village which is an ancient town built on the cliff-side with outstanding views of the sea and surrounding ports. The Jardins d'Eze were also well worth a visit with again fantastic views.
We would definitely recommend this apartment for your place to stay while visiting the French Riviera.

This Apartment is exactly as beautiful a location as the pictures indicate. Actually the pictures can not capture the real beauty off the view you get from the 30 feet balcony. Both the daytime and especially the evening view is just amazing. We travelled as a family 2 adults and 4 boys between 3-11 years old. The Apartment was sufficient in size and most of our time at the apartment we spent outside on the balcony or at the pool area. The pool was nice and clean with enough room for both kids and adults and for relaxing in the sun. Our overall experience of the apartment and pool exeded our expectations. The place was clean and well maintained. The Owner Larry has provided a top level service before during and after our stay. Well beyond our expectations. During our stay we went on numerous trips to the sea to other towns and naturally to Nice which is very close by. There are too many lovely places to mention but Larry has a full book of good places to go. That is a good guideline if you need inspiration. The little pizza restaurant on the top of hill across the Casino supermarket is worth a vist for a cosy evening dinner It is close to the road but very nice local food.
This is a apartment that I would like to revisit and a place I would recommend to my friends and relatives. Only small notion is of course that when you live at a place with and elevated view you will have to climb some steps if you walk to and from the village. But it is only a 15 min walk to the sea still and the view outweigh by far the small walk. All in all one of our best vacation apartments and we have see quite a few.

My friend and I recently returned home following our third stay in the apartment. We spent the month of June in the apartment and found it no less wonderful than it was on our previous two visits. The apartment is modern, very well furnished and enjoys a spectacular view from both inside the apartment and from the balcony. There are many places of significant interest to visit in the area and are easily accessible by bus or train. There are any number of helpful guide book in the apartment to help you plan your days. There is so much do and so many places to visit in the area that there is not enough space here to discuss them. For art lovers, however, one place not to be missed is the Fernand Leger National Museum in Biot, which is the train stop before Antibes. Biot is a most interesting village and the Leger Museum is world class. The building itself is a work of art. One of the highlights of each day for my friend and me was arriving back at the lovely apartment and enjoying a glass of wine on the balcony reviewing the day's activities while enjoying the magnificant view. When you open the door of this lovely modern apartment perched on the hillside overlooking Villefranche sur Mer, the view of the turquoise and sapphire blue of the Mediterranean Sea through the wall of windows, will take your breath away! The initial glimpse will transport you to a peaceful, relaxed, serene vacation state-of-mind that one only experiences in the South of France. This newly renovated, light and airy apartment has simple European style and all the comforts of home. Upon arrival, my family and I immediately took refuge on the huge balcony with a cool bottle of rose and sumptuous French bread, cheese, and olives. The well equipped kitchen allowed us to
prepare many home cooked meals made with France's finest and freshest ingredients found at the local outdoor markets, bakeries, and butchers. When we didn't want to cook, we had no trouble finding an outstanding bistro, restaurant, creperie, or gourmet take-out in the area.
Villefranche has a large pebble beach, and the surrounding communities have sandy and rocky beaches. Each beach is easily accessible by foot, car, or bus and all are within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and other attractions. Renting a boat is easy even for those who don't consider themselves seafaring aficionados. For the more experienced mariner, there are speedboats, sailboats, and scull rentals. If scuba diving is your pleasure, there are plenty of diving expeditions .
For sightseeing, there is the beautiful city of Nice, the port of Antibes, and the enchanting medieval village of Eze. For those interested in gambling there are the casinos at Beaulieu or Monte Carlo. One can never be bored in this beautiful setting on the Cote d’Azur.
But whatever you choose, whether swimming, sailing, walking, or sightseeing, it is always wonderful to return to this peaceful, beautiful apartment and relax on the balcony.
From breathtaking sunrises to the pink sunsets, the view from from this apartment never fails to please. For us, the full moon was an added treat as it bathed the entire inlet, filled with yachts, cruise ships, and small boats, with a soft pale purple haze. We all passed such a fabulous vacation that we found it incredibly difficult to leave.

This is a wonderful apartment overlooking Villefranche. The views from the spacious deck are superb. It is very relaxing and comfortable. There is a lovely swimming pool in front of the apartments which we swam in every day. The facilities in the apartment are excellent and the bedroom was spacious and well laid out. For people attending the Institut Francais it is an ideal location-just a 5 minute walk down to the school. Also it is just a short walk up to shops and buses for Nice, Eze and many other wonderful locations. We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to stay near beautiful Villefranche-sur-Mer.

Best apartment possible
Review #7689253 "Heaven in Villefranche's California apartment "
We have been to Villefranche 13 times since 1995, each time for a month but never in such a nice, extremely well appointed and stocked apartment. No picture can capture the real view from the 30 foot balcony or from the windows of each room. Since it is located near the medium Cornice it is high above the town with an 180 degree view. The place had everything you could want from bedding to towels. The kitchen was even stocked with all the herbs and spices, even coffee and tea and all the cleaning stuff you could imagine. (you replace it if you use it up) We were even received by a friend of the owner (Greta) with Champaign and Foie-gras "and the key". I am sure this was very special and not part of the rental but we became instant friends and benefitted from Greta's local knowledge. However the living room has plenty of local guide books and a handmade book for best restaurants made by those guests which came before us. The apartment is centrally
located, it takes about 15 minutes to get to the market in Nice and less than half an hour to Monaco.
Reviewers before us said that you could stay here without a car, but I do recommend a small car since there are dozens of ancient villages a few miles inland which will give you a more comprehensive impression of this beautiful country. All of these little towns have fabulous restaurants and great prices. Every day we visited some enchanting place in driving distance. We fully intend to return for maybe a longer stay. The apartment owner answered all our questions before we left from Canada and the whole trip went without a hitch. By the way we never closed the iron curtain and lived always with the window open placing a broomstick in the rails so the doors could not be opened further at night. The apartment is very light and airy. Parking is tight and the roads are narrow. I rented a Mercedes but recommend a smaller car for the Cote D'Azure. Mostly because Greta kept making fun of my much to large car.

Peaceful and relaxing home from home
Our family of four adults - two daughters in their 20s and my husband and I (early fifties) have just returned from a week staying in this beautiful appartment. The view is as beautiful as described and we were delighted with the patio doors which are a feature of all the rooms even the kitchen. although only April, we breakfasted on the sunny balcony every morning enjoying the view of the cruise ships in the bay. The appartment block is quiet and well maintained by the helpful but not intrusive concierge.
The swimming pool is an extra boon and while we didn't use it much (water still cool in April- )I don't doubt that it would be a significant asset in the hot summer.
The walk down to the picturesque little town of Villefranche and its pretty harbour takes approximately 10 minutes, although the walk is quite steep in places. We managed it easily and appreciated the exercise! The walk back uphill is rather strenuous but again there are bus options - namely a number 80 from the beach which makes several stops along the way.
The appartment itself is beautiful, with every comfort and convenience. We especially enjoyed the modern kitchen and bathroom.
We certainly would hope to return again soon.

Beautiful and like home from home
We stayed for two weeks August 2013 and the apartment lived up to the previous reviews that we had read. The view is beautiful and a wonderful sight to wake up to everyday and due to it running the full length of the apartment is the same from living area, bedroom and kitchen. The balcony is a great size so eating there is a must!! The kitchen has everything you could need so feels home from home and makes eating in so easy. Although to get to the port and sea you need to walk either down a bendy road of almost 400 steps - do not let this put you off as I believe hills are a part of visiting Villefranche. A short walls up the hill takes you to a great supermarket, bakery and bar with restaurant. The pool is so peaceful but a lovely place to relax although there are no loungers so be prepared to sit or lie on your towel. The neighbours were all helpful and welcoming. All in all Villefranche is a great base for travelling around the Côte d'Azur and this apartment We are sure would be hard to beat. Larry the owner was helpful to me from time of booking, during our stay and after. There was no problem in returning the deposit or any transaction. As for the transport in villefranche we used the buses and trains and they are both easy. Taxi tend to be expensive. Hope this helps you and I would recommend to anyone. By the way we are a family with a teenage daughter.

Two years ago my friend and I spent two weeks in the apartment and found it to be exceptional. It was modern, well furnished, clean, and well located. It was, however, the fantastic view of the sea that made it extraordinary. This past year we spent the month of September in the apartment. When we arrived we found a newely renovated kitchen and bath, both of which were very well done. Every visit to France before the September visit we had rented a car. We did not do so in September because we found during our first stay that a car was unnecessary. We were able to go to the places in the region we wanted to go by public transportation, which was convenient and reasonably priced. Each morning we had breakfast on the balcony and most evenings had dinner there and watched the beautiful sunset. I cannot say enough about the marvelous view form the apartment. We found the apartment perfectly safe, slept with the sliding door slightly open with a bar perventing it from being opend farther. The apartment is well furnished, especially the kitchen which is a pleasure to use. The owner is very personable and helpful in every way. He called twice during our stay to make certain everything was going well and to determine if we needed help with anything. One finds it difficult to leave such agreeable surroundings. H.C.E.

Perfect apartment for a family vacation!
We are a family of 5, and this was our first visit to the area. The apartment was perfect for us. It has a fantastic view, exactly as in the pictures. The apartment itself is well maintained and well equipped with newly renovated kitchen and bathroom. With the good weather and the beautiful view we were barely inside, but enjoyed the lovely terrace.
Since there were three beds in the living room, and the terrace was so lovely it was no problem to stay a family of 5 for two weeks. The pool was great. Quiet and nice, and perfect for the kids.
The location is also very good. It is a quiet area, but still only a short walk to bakery, restaurants etc, It is also a short walk down to the village.
We would highly recommend the place to other families, and we will for sure rent it again next time.

Wonderful apartment with breathtaking view
We stayed here between July26 and August 17 and we had a wonderful vacation.
As soon as we (me, my husband, and our 4,5 old year old son) arrived to this wonderful place I couldn't believe how amazing the view from the apartment is; that put me right in the vacation mood. We loved the apartment, a very welcoming space with everything we needed. I usually bring many extra things for cooking, and extra towels, it was not needed. Larry had arranged everything and gave great directions that makes us feel right at home.
We have been traveling to this area for the last 6 years but never had such a nice and quiet location before. We loved the swimming pool, it made it so easy for us to entertain our son. The neighbors were very nice and welcoming too. Everyone is quiet and respectful and the whole apartment complex is taken care of beautifully. It's a nice, green and very clean area. All and all it exceeded my expectations. I loved it and for sure we will stay there in the future again and thank you Larry for the wonderful service arranged for your guests.

Feast for the Eyes
This is an excellent rental property -
The photos are exactly as the apartment appears. The bathrooms ae clean and modern and the toilet -sink and separate shower - sink bathroom arrangement is very well designed.
The kitchen is very well stocked with all utensils. The fact that all three rooms open onto the terrace lent to the feelig of added spaciousness. The dishwasher and clothes washer were excellent - the pool was immaculate - the water crystal clear and not cold.
The owner was very accomodating - reasonable and honest.
What more can one ask for?

A Wonderful Holiday
The minute you walk into this delightful apartment in Villefranche you are amazed at the fabulous view and the gorgeous surroundings. The furnishings are perfect and the kitchen has absolutely everything one would need to survive. We felt at home right away. The concierge and other folks in the building were welcoming and extremely helpful. Being mindful of security is important. The apartment is a few minutes from a grocery store, important to find on the first day, and right across the street from the store is a bakery, butcher and even a bistro if you are too tired to cook. It is also important to suss out the bus transportation both at the mid corniche and the bas (lower). These buses are terrific, cover the whole area, and only cost one Euro. There is a bus, #80, that goes up the hill from the town to the mid corniche shops (important to know as the hill is steep.) The town of Villefranche has amazing restaurants on the water and the people in the town itself are delightful, kind and ready to assist. The newsagent called a taxi for us, and the beautician did a great hair cut with very limited instructions. Easy travel was accomplished all the way to Italy (by train) and to Nice and beyond. The holiday was wonderful and memorable and time permitting we plan on returning one day.

Peaceful getaway...
I have just returned from a wonderful nine day trip to Villefranche. My
“home” for this period was an apartment in La California area, located up a
winding road to midway up the mountain. The bedroom, living/dining area and
kitchen all opened up onto a balcony overlooking the harbor and the
Mediterranean. The view was amazing from soft sunrises to peaceful,
colorful sunsets. You can look down on a cruise ship now and then as it
enters the harbor for a night or two. The apartment was fully equipped with
washer, dryer, microwave, dishwasher, stove, refrigerator/freezer. The
bookshelf was filled with reading material for all. The apartment is clean,
bright and very conducive to relaxation - located in a quiet, peaceful
neighborhood, in which I always felt secure.
I found many interesting places to visit with close proximity to the
apartment - Eze, in the heart of Cote d’Azur between Nice and Monaco (an
eagle’s nest village built in the 7th century BC), Fragonard perfume factory
& store, shopping in Nice, nightlife in Monaco, Menton which borders Italy,
Antibes, to name a few. Restaurants, cafes, beaches, outdoor markets
abound in all directions.
Anyone looking for a restful time, with an opportunity to experience
the wonderful life of the French Riviera, should not hesitate to take
advantage of this lovely apartment.
