I normally do a pretty good job of scouting out the reviews and picking a place to stay; however, I feel like I didn’t do very well this time. I was looking for something close to the Marine park and this place met those requirements.
Cute cabin, quick to respond through Booking, great beach access and good snorkeling, close to many restaurants along the road. A couple chairs to sit on and a nice bench was part of the interior. The sunsets are beautiful but make sure you bring bug lotion. Nice signs to warn you that the coconuts might fall on your head.
Thankfully the room had a fan to move the air at night. Small bottles of water and soft drinks in frudge to purchase. There is a nice grocery store just past the yummy Napoli Caffee where you can get drinks and snacks.
The owner is very nice and the staff is very pleasant.
While the unit was OK, the mattress was just a 3” well used foam pad on a wooden bed platform (two twin foam pads). No hot water (but it is tolerably cool), toilet seat was not secured to the toilet (but it was chained), no shampoos and just one little bar of soap for the sink and shower. No hair dryer for those of you that need one daily.
Bath towels should have been replaced about a year ago and no hand towels (unless requested multiple times) or wash cloths. The pillows are some type of lumpy foam chunks - but at least it wasn’t flat as a pancake (throw pillows look like they have never been cleaned). When we needed to they were never around, so ask before about 5pm if you need something.
Yes, they sweep the leaves but maintenance is lacking. Walkways are overcrowded by plants and they are very slick when it rains - be cautious. Internet is abysmal (best at the “Park your broom” sign). No fresh water shower to knock off the sand after you snorkel.
We were there 5 nights (booked for 6 but the weather caused a delay) and our room was never serviced. We had a clothesline with us so we were able to hang the towels every day to dry. Would have been nice to at least had the unit swept once and a towel refresh and the rubbish bin on the front porch emptied (this would reduce their ant issue).
We had coffee a couple times in the morning but went next door to República to eat-breakfast and dinner (fantastic food) - and they have free 5g wifi. We only saw a couple of people eating breakfast here and never saw anyone having dinner.
If your budget is tight, then this place would be fine. This is about a 2 star hotel - not a resort.
Note: we did speak with the owner as we were leaving to share our concerns. She claimed we should have had fresh towels each day and refresh is by request. Supposedly they also keep a stack of fresh towels at the kitchen area. We never saw them but they could have been there.

Beautiful; clean; and peaceful—filled with seaside harmony.
Could use simple “WiFi boosters” for certain bungalows; however, was great WiFi near main office. (Boosters—a simple fix)

The landscape was absolutely beautiful very well kept resort and the sunsets are beautiful. The Rooms are huge like a studio apartment and what can I say about the staff that hasn’t already been said. The owner of this property definitely knows a good staff they are absolutely the best I’ve ever seen at any resort. They were so friendly and attentive to you I would give them a 20 if I could. It’s only a walk to good restaurants and stores I can say I’ve had more peace and this place then anywhere in the Philippines we’ll definitely definitely be back to see the staff !!!! Thanks staff you made our 4 days a blast

It is a magical place, we felt like home there. The garden is amazing and we had the best sunset view.
The room was simple, big and clean. Breakfast was nice. Also the location is great.
But the best part are the staff, they went beyond our expectations, always happy and did everything that they could for our stay, specially Jess and Celeste.
We would definitely recommend the hotel and come back.
The only thing that needs some repair is the water pressure in the shower.

The people working at the resort are super nice and went above and beyond if there was anything we needed. Location is right by the sea. Would recommend!
Note that there is no aircon (fan worked fine) and the power outlets are US so we had to buy adapter at a store nearby.

The area was beautiful and the room much bigger than expected. The people who work there were so friendly and helpful!
The room is basic, but that is what you should expect for this price.

Extremely nice staff, friendly, helpful, smiling, singing 😃. Property well taken care of, clean, peaceful and like paradise. Close to many shops, restaurants and a few steps from own beautiful sea.
No hot water (but didn’t really miss it) and modest menu, but many restaurants around

Great location right on the sea with steps going into the sea. In a beautiful setting with lots of plants, trees and outdoor seating areas. Also walking distance to our favourite beach, Tubod. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The lovely natural setting also mean there were a few geckos in the room.

A few super cute bungalows in a lush green garden, right in front of a beautiful cliff. They made a nice place with seats and swings where you can hang out and watch the perfect sunset. The bungalows have big rooms and a nice big patio. And the best about the stay is the very warm welcome we got. Thanks girls, we really enjoyed our stay!
P.S. There were some negative reviews recently and I think they are unjust. I saw people complaining of ants, we haven't seen any. And gecko's neither, but also, who would mind a gecko in their room? They eat the mosquitos! They're nice.
Nothing.

No taxidriver could find the place. 30x asked for nothing. The given adress was only Isla Mystic Beach Resort....circumferential road.
A scandal!

Such a beautiful resort. Lovely view and beautiful outdoor space! The staff are so wonderful. The rooms are big and clean. Great place to catch the sunset!
Beware though, if you love your sleep, the birds are loud from 0500-0600. You can watch them in the bartlett tree, it's magical.

We had an awesome stay in that resort. Staff super friendly and helpfull, very good location with bars and restaurants easy to reach. The garden with the ocean view was amazing, and you just have to go down the cliff to snorkel.
Our best stay in the Philippins !
Close to the road so can be a little bit noisy, but not a big drama.

Garden on the cliff - outdoor area and location
room was smelly and very worn down, walls were dirty - everything seemed like it needed to be renovated

The location of the property is perfect, I personally loved it. The little houses are set on a cliff and you have the most amazing outdoor experience: beautiful sea view and amazing vegetation. Tables and chairs are set so you can enjoy the outdoors, you have subbed and swings, and it’s just perfect. It’s so peaceful, it feels like a little secluded paradise.
The staff is super sweet and nice, as all Filipinos are.
The indoor experience ruins the outdoor experience and that’s why we left. The room itself is very very old. It’s full of cracks, little holes, and just totally rundown. This allow insects and other animals - like little lizards - to come inside the room, they enter through the cracks.
Giant ants come from everywhere including under the door, we had to kill dozens of them every night. There’s no hot water, there’s no air conditioning (just an old fan), sheets are old, towels are old (and very small)… it’s really a shame, because some things can fixed with very little money.
An electric water heater is very cheap, and used by all accommodations throughout the Philippines. Cracks and holes are easily fixed, and anybody can do it, you open YouTube and there’s millions of tutorials, it is really an easy job. Painting the insides also doesn’t require a professional.
It seems that the people in charge just don’t feel like putting in the work themselves.
It’s a lovely place, it has so much potential, I’m really sad that it wasn’t a better experience.

+Can snorkle right from the property as steps give access (best 1 or 2 hours either side of high tide). You can start seeing fish within the first 50-100m, and the reef is only about 150m out. This is next to the incredible Tubod Marine Sanctuary, and following the reef east allows you to observe many fish, HUGE and varied corals and even sea turtles. Incredible to have on your doorstep!
+Although not right on the water, there were lovely sea views through jungled landscaping of the grounds. There were lots of great common outdoors seating spots to watch the sea and sunset from.
+Room was good for the price: had a cold shower, flushing toilet and screens on windows. There is no ceiling fan, but they provides a table top fan. This had good power, but was fairly loud and slightly disruptive of a good night's sleep at times (another guest found the same).
+Within minutes by scooter to San Juan and lots of eating options. They will easily help you arrange a scooter brought to the property (350 pesos/day or 450 pesos/day to upgrade to 125cc bike).
+As they aren't currently serving much food, they allowed access to their outdoor kitchen to make some breakfast.
-Having thicker curtains to block more light (from other cottages and the early sunrise) and for privacy. The curtains were sheer and pretty much see through. While the glass slats were frosted and the accommodation wasn't busy, this gives a lack of privacy in my opinion. The door is glass, and had a thicker curtain you could pull over, but you'd always have to move the curtain to open the door (door opened inwards). Better curtains are an easy fix.
-The path to our cottage was sand, while other paths were cobgrete or rock. This made it almost impossible to not drag sand into the room, making for a gritty experience. Paving the front, or having a broom in the room would help (they did lend us one). You can ask for the room to be cleaned, but pretty much every time you go in and out, more sand comes in.
-The staff were friendly and helpful when asked, but we're not always around. While this is understandable as there were only two staff at the desk and the place wasn't super busy, the inconsistency of being able to ask something, especially water, was frustrating (there were free water refills, but it was in the office). Having drinking water accessible for guests to access at all times (as in every other place we've been in the Philippines) and having some hours posted or a number to call or WhatsApp would be very useful.
-Hooks to hang things and side tables with a small lamp are always appreciated by travellers

Breakfast was always a delightful experience. The atmosphere of the resort reflects a sense of peace and tranquility .surrounded by trees and greenery .A gentle breeze flowing in from the ocean and a view of sheer delight Loved coming home after a day of cruising .Felt always taken care of by my hostess and delightful staff. Was being part of a big family
I did take care of cleaning my room . Maybe someone cleaning my bathroom from time to time would have been good .Probably my mistake for not requesting it .I m sure they would have done it

The resort was located in a very nice place. In front of the sea, with nice views of the sunset & in the middle of the nature, but also near to the main activity center. We want to specially mention the owner of the hotel. Arlene and the other staff are super nice and kind. They tried to make us feel comfortable at all time, and they prepared us super delicious vegetarian breakfast. We recommend this place 100%. And if we return to Siquijor we will come back for sure!! :)
