About this cabin rental
This is an authentic "Adirondack Camp". While we do have room to sleep 12 guests, it is not a large cabin. This camp works best for multi-age families. The Living Room/Dining area is a combined cozy room with a fireplace and a woodstove. (The woodstove is the camps ONLY heat source. Woodstove firewood is provided.) Our guests' favorite room is the lakeside screened-in porch which offers additional dining area and a place to view the lake and the dock from the shelter of the porch.
There is a Bedroom on 1st floor that has a Queen bed and an X-long Twin bunk bed. The second floor has 2 quaint bedrooms with Queen size beds in each. It also has a Dorm style room with 1 Queen size bed, one X-long Twin bunk bed and four Twin beds. We also have a pack n play crib available. WE ASK GUESTS TO BRING THEIR OWN SHEETS AND TOWELS, we have blankets and quilts available to use.
There is 1 full size bathroom with tub/shower, and 1 half bathroom on the first floor, and a half bathroom upstairs.
The kitchen is fully furnished with electric stove, microwave, Mr. Coffee 12-cup coffeemaker, coffee grinder, slow cooker, stainless steel pots and pans, an electric griddle, casserole dishes, serving dishes and platters, and cooking utensils. There are two refrigerators! :)
We will supply 4 rolls of toilet paper and 4 rolls of paper towels. There are spices in the cupboard you can use.
There is a Weber gas grill for grilling food outside.
There is a fire pit next to the lake for campfires. We supply a wheelbarrow full of firewood for the campfire, but there is also wood available to buy down the road near the DEC campsite, and also in the village.
The dock is large and has many Adirondack chairs for you to use. There is a swimming raft.
We have an aluminum canoe, a fiberglass guideboat, and a double kayak available for guests to use.

They have the best set up to enjoy the perfect vacation. It was close enough to do a Mount Arab hike And multiple waterfall hikes. You’re close enough to Tupper, Saranac and Lake Placid to visit daily. I would 100% recommend this to anyone. Thank you again Becky and Bill.

We are a group of 6 women who have been exploring different parts of the Adirondacks. We are from the south-central area. This is our 13th year!
Staying at this camp has to be one of our best experiences! The camp was comfortable and homey. Just enough space for all of us. The porch was perfect for these ultra-hot days. We were cool and refreshed.
Bill and Becky were the perfect hosts! Friendly, helpful and accompdating. They gave us information on Cranberry Lake and helped us to get to remote places we wouldn't have known about.
We loved this place and didn't want to leave!

The cabin and property were ideal for my group of hikers. We were day hiking the Cranberry Lake 50 Challenge. We were able to get a boat to shuttle us to/from the trailheads and completed the trail. We were so fortunate to have excellent fall weather and the foliage was stunning. Our morning boat shuttle was like a dream - the lake was like glass and the mirror image of the beautiful foliage was gorgeous. After a long day of hiking, we would relax on the dock while listening to some tunes. We were able to have potluck dinners; there was plenty of room to cook and enjoy our meal. Bill and Becky are excellent hosts and were so kind, generous and welcoming. They made our week on Cranberry Lake perfect!

This vacation house is perfect for a relaxing and fun filled vacation. The facility is very clean and located within a few feet of the lake. The dock is wide and allows for swimmers to utilize the dock for diving and sunbathing while at the same time plenty of room to sit on the numerous Adirondack chairs. We have vacationed at this place several years and we will be back. The front porch is ideal for eating, playing games and just simple sitting and enjoying the beautiful view.

Our entire family tries to take a summer vacation every year in the Adirondacks. This year was our first visit to Sunset Haven on Cranberry Lake. The cabin was clean and very cozy. Plenty of space for our family of 8! Kitchen had every pot / pan and utensils one could need. A huge plus was having TWO refrigerators! Our favorite spot to gather was the enclosed porch. The view every evening was amazing and the sunsets memorable. Our hosts Bill and Becky were wonderful! Very accessible and accommodating. Would highly recommend this very special cabin on the lake. Our thanks to Bill and Becky.

My husband and I just returned to California after visiting family and friends on the east coast for 2 weeks. The highlight of our trip was our stay at this cabin. It was so cozy and comfortable we hated to leave. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds comfortable. It was so beautiful and peaceful we decided we must come back with our family. Then we read the guest book and the sweet drawings children have contributed over the years. This place IS really special—you can just feel the love and wonderful memories it has provided so many families. Thank you to the owners for creating such a special place.. Highly recommend!

This camp is exactly what we hoped it would be: rustic, cozy, roomy, located perfectly. We had less than great weather, but had no trouble entertaining ourselves. The kitchen is very well equipped and the sleeping arrangements flexible enough to accommodate anybody. We really appreciated the stacks of firewood for inside and campfires. Highly recommended!

A lovely lakeside camp
We had a wonderful experience at Bill and Becky’s cabin. Bill and Becky are great hosts and check in was very smooth. My family and I enjoyed stunning views of the lake, swimming and fishing off the dock and hiking in the area. The cabin was well appointed with everything we needed including cookware, firewood, and best of all- a canoe, kayak and guide boat!! This place is exactly as advertised and we can’t wait to return!!!

Relaxing getaway!
We truly enjoyed our time at Sunset Haven! With 10 adults and 2 children, it still felt very spacious. Bill and Becky's home is very clean, warm and welcoming, with all of the comforts of home. We loved the screened in porch with the beautiful view out over the lake and sitting on the spacious dock was a perfect way to start off (and end) our day. Bill and Becky were very kind and gracious, and we look forward to returning again.

Outstanding location, clean and well supplied
Check-in was simple. Photos accurately describe the property. Plenty of space. Comfortable and clean. Loved the fireplace on a chilly evening, and the availability of a canoe and guideboat. Lovingly decorated; beautiful flowers outside and greens inside. Guidance provided on activities. Communication was always good. Bill and Becky were gracious and friendly hosts, and they never intruded. Conveniently available next door in case of need (we had none). Absolutely beautiful location. We enjoyed mornings looking out on the water and evenings watching the sunset. We also enjoyed the moon and stars. Wonderful time!

Cabin on the Lake!
Wonderful cabin for family! We had 6 adults and 2 busy grandkids. Our favorites were the screen in porch, large dock, room to dock our two boats, fire in fire place on two chilly days and the fire pit that was just off of the water's edge. Will we return? You betcha!!

Exactly as advertised. Exactly perfect camp!
What a gem! Bill and Becky were an absolute pleasure to work with. Easy rental. Easy check in. Plenty of information ahead of time. The camp was exactly as advertised. Although it was just our small family (myself, spouse, adult daughter), it was fine. It is set up to be able to support a large family with dorm style beds upstairs and two refrigerators, but it did not feel overwhelming with just 3 of us. The neighborhood is sleepy and super quiet. The only interaction we had was coming home from ice cream in Tupper Lake (you MUST go to Skyline IceCream at least once for their blackberry twist cone!!!), one of the elderly neighbors was standing in the middle of the road at dusk. We weren’t sure what to expect. His little rescue teacup dog had gotten out and we stopped in the middle of the road with our lights (that is how sleepy the neighborhood is) and tromped through the woods to catch his slippery little dog and gave him a ride home. The kitchen was well stocked and the screened in porch is such a huge bonus that provides so much usable (bug free) space! It is large and we ate most of our meals overlooking the lake. We brought our own boat and appreciated the dock for easy access. I was so grateful it had more than one bathroom (the simple things)! It was pretty chilly while we were there and we appreciated the fireplace and wood stove to be able to warm up after a day of fishing or hiking (and Bill’s Boy Scout magic of Kerosene in a spray bottle by the stove). None of us personally braved the water, but there is a nice entry from the shore into the water (which would be a huge bonus with kids) so you don’t have to jump from the dock. We loved Bill’s recommendations for hiking (he is a certified guide) and did not steer us wrong. I think the thing that I valued most was the perfect blend of it being a well-loved (and well maintained) camp, and felt like home without feeling like you were in someone else’s house! According to Bill, the camp was built by his father in the 1940’s and there is a lot of history and love, and it shows! It was very clean and well-loved. And again, Bill and Becky were just an absolute pleasure with every interaction. The sunsets cannot be beaten. We even got to see moose in the woods! The loons and families of geese and ducks swam by routinely and brought us such joy. We would recommend this rental without hesitation and cannot wait to return!

Perfect!
Bill and Becky's property is beautiful. Right on Cranberry Lake, with a wealth of lake, canoeing, and hiking options nearby. Perfect sunsets, and Bill and Becky have thought of everything: firepit, fireplace, wood stove, screened-in porch, etc. They are also kind and super informative about the area. We were just two (perfect couple's getaway), but if I had kids I would bring them here in a second, too. Couldn't recommend more!!

Cozy cabin in good location
Spent a week in the fall. Bill and Becky were very friendly hosts. Well placed location for visiting the area. Very cozy cabin and did enjoy the use of the wood stove in the cold fall evenings. The lake view and outdoor sitting is outstanding.

A perfect week at the lake!
My husband and I had the wonderful pleasure to spend a week at this lovely home. The lake was amazing, the leaves were beautiful and we had the amazing gift of sunshine most of our stay! Such a surprise for the last week of September. Bill and Rebecca were wonderful hosts and even had a fire going in the wood stove the day of our arrival. It was a chilly first few days, but still so gorgeous. The hiking, the lake and the area waterfalls and exploration made it such a great time in nature. This was our first visit to Cranberry Lake and we will most certainly return next year.
