We had a great time at this very nice house. We had high expectations, which the house exceeded. The house and furnishings were excellent. Even fresh flowers in every room. The lawn, beach, dock and lake were also excellent. And we enjoyed walking in the nature preserve just across the street.

My husband and I plus 3 other couples vacation every year somewhere in Michigan at a different place every year. We chose this cottage as it had the required 4 bedrooms (plus an extra) and right on a lake. It was a beautiful cottage and we had a wonderful time. The kitchen was completely stocked with everything we needed. We had many corn hole tournaments, went kayaking and fishing, and many card games in the evening. Our favorite place was on the extended deck with chairs and tables. We may come back to this cottage sometime!

This is our second year vacationing on Burt Lake, but first year in this house on the west side of lake. The house was perfect for us - grandma and grandpa on one side of house and parents and grandkids in the 4 bedrooms on the other side. Beautiful home with all the amenities we could possibly want. Two fire pits, one on the beach and one next to house, that we really enjoyed. We rented a pontoon for two days and had a blast tubing, hitting the sandbar, and taking great cruises around the lake. Will definitely book again!!!!!

Our family loved this vacation home. It was perfect for a family of 4 plus grandparents. The lake was beautiful. And the location near Petosky, Indian River, and Mackinac was very convient.

What a wonderful trip we had! The house was as advertised, very clean and with amazing views! The location on the lake could not be beaten, as we were always sheltered from the wind, which made the spot right out front the smoothest place on the lake for tubing and swimming.
Would rent again for sure!

Perfect for family of 10
Great cottage and property. My family made lasting memories throughout our week stay. The cookies and flowers were a nice touch upon arrival. Check-in was simple. Scott and Cynthia were very responsive. My feedback (still 5 star review across the board) would be to add a fire pit on the side of the house. The beach fire pit couldn’t be used due to high water level. Great job to the owners.

Great family home!
This home was nearly perfect for our group of 6 adults and 4 children. It has a very open and large common area (living room, dining area, sunroom and kitchen). The bedrooms are on the smaller side, but absolutely fine. The lake and dock were great and the kids were in the water all of the time; we had a perfect weather week! I think my only "wish" would be for a larger outdoor deck.

Great getaway
Wonderful cottage in a great location. Easy access to explore area sites. Cottage was beautiful with lots of room for our group of 9. Never felt crowded, with everyone having enough space to spread out. Hosts were quick to respond to any questions we had. A great memory-making vacation for all!

Great Vacation House
We have been renting different houses for 5 years and this has been the best! Beautifully decorated, fresh flowers throughout the house and fresh baked cookies for our arrival. Plenty of rooms and beds for our family of 6 adults. 3 bathrooms/3 rooms with queens is hard to find. Everything you need in the kitchen. End of the Dock is spacious for gatherings and to look at the stars. Fire pit on the beach was used most nights. Close to a lot of the places we love to go in Northern Michigan: Mackinac Island, Harbor Springs and Petosky. Owners were great and responded quickly to any questions.

awesome house great location
House was great for our family of 8 and still had room for a few more. big enough to have our space when needed but small enough to be cozy when wanted that as well. location is everything and this house was in a secluded area of burt lake to give that up north cottage feel but still close enough to stores, restaurants and area attractions to make it very functional for a vacation spot. homeowners were available and just a phone call away to make sure your experience was wonderful. thanks for helping to make our family vacation great! I would recommend this house to all that want to stay on the inland waterway.

This was a great place to stay. The owners left so many things to help us! Including cookies and fresh cut flowers. Loved our time at this house and would definitely rent this home again!

Great Location & Beach
House was as advertised. Kitchen, bathrooms, & bedrooms all met our expectations. Beach, dock, & lake were all beautiful and great for swimming & boating. Had 4 kids between the ages of 4-8 and they loved swimming in the shallow clear lake. Owner's were easily accessible and very helpful, I would definitely recommend renting this property

Lakefront Burt Lake property
Lovely lakefront property on beautiful Burt Lake--comfortable and well equipped cottage with plenty of room for our family to settle in and enjoy the week. We traveled with 4 adults and 5 kids (ages 8, 10, 10, 13, and 16), and thoroughly enjoyed our week in this lovely cottage. We had plenty of room to spread out, and plenty of areas to enjoy time to together. The lake was gorgeous, and easily accessible. The kids enjoyed kayaking, the canoe, floating, and swimming. We rented a paddle board and pontoon boat to round out the week. The home was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The location is great--it's quiet and remote enough to be away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and Mackinaw City to have things to do if desired. The quaint little villages of Alanson and Pellston are also close by. A great way to relax and enjoy the treasures of Northern Michigan.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Indian Point on Burt Lake.
Property was well maintained and we felt very welcomed. Our group particularly enjoyed the screened in porch and the hammock. No issues with any of the aspects of the home. Two very minor comments, the door closure needs to be replaced on the front screen door and the stove would register an error every five minutes or so and we would have to turn it back on. Neither of these caused us concern.
We appreciated the mooring bouy. We rented a pontoon for a few days and it was very secure when tied off to the bouy.
Thanks for wi-fi connection.
We appreciated the detailed instructions provided by the owners.
Overall our group loved the property and had a wonderful time.

A great family vacation location.
We have been renting lake houses for our family vacations for the last 12 years and this property, by far, was the best. We found this to be a private and peaceful location on a beautiful lake, perfect for swimming and all water sports.
We arrived to find the owners had left fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and all the ingredients needed to make S'mors. A very nice touch I have not encountered before. The house was well stocked with everything we could possibly need. Everything worked well including the air conditioning, the internet and all of the appliances. The interior of the house was clean, there was ample seating for meals, and the beds were comfortable. There was an abundance of information provided regarding restaurants and retail in the area. My dealings with the owners found them to be pleasant, helpful and professional.
I highly recommend this property.

Just a wonderful relaxing setting.
Getting away for a week to a place like this was so welcoming. The kitchen was large enough to have more than one cook. And the kitchen was very well equipped with almost anything one would need. there was no lack of dishes and glasses The dishwasher had a lot of build-up around the soap dispenser. We soaked and chipped away the build-up so the dishwasher could clean properly. There were numerous notes placed around for do's and don'ts plus 6 pages of instructions all members had to read.
There were a few complaints on the hardness of the beds. One bathroom off, what I would call the master, was tiny.
The nights were so quiet and everyone said they slept well.
The outdoors were fantastic. The dock and surrounding areas got plenty of use. We sat around the fire pit several evenings and watched the sunset. This was Pure Michigan.
Everyone left after a week and said it was one of the best vacations yet.
One really nice touch was a batch of yummy cookies waiting for us and fresh flowers all around the house.

Eight Agree, Once Is Enough
Burt Lake is a beautiful lake but next time we will be looking for another house. The owners clearly take pride in their decorating but the house smelled very musty and some of the windows did not open and close properly. We could not use the dresser drawers as they smelled of mildew and the shower curtain needed laundering to remove thigh high orange mold. They boasted a gourmet kitchen which was missing basic necessities like a basting brush for grilling. The living room furniture was pretty, but very uncomfortable...which might have been on purpose as we were greeted with house rules posted everywhere including don't eat anywhere but at the table and don't sleep on the sofas. In spite of being respectful renters, we felt followed by the proverbial wagging finger all week long. Oh yeah, forgot to mention the noise from construction on the next lot over and the run away toilet. On the positive, we enjoyed the hammock, kayaks and canoe, the beach area for fires, and the yard was large enough to set up our badminton set. The large size kitchen and table seating eight was perfect. The pie was also nice, but did not make up for the shortcomings we encountered.

Beautiful, secluded, relaxing vacation home
At the risk of sharing this "secret" called Burt Lake, I had to share our positive review of this home. Our group of 10 arrived to a welcome gift in the kitchen - cookies and pie - and all the wood stacked for a bonfire on the beach. What nice touches.
The home - inside and out - is just as pictured. One nice surprise, the common areas are wide open - the kitchen, living room, dining room and sunroom all flow together. The kitchen and bathrooms are updated and much nicer than a rental house needs to be. The bedrooms are small and comfortable. Two of the bedrooms are master suites, which is perfect for two families traveling together.
This home itself is in the perfect location. It is on a quiet dirt road, set back far from the road and close to the water. You hardly notice the neighboring houses due to the gorgeous, mature trees and each house has such a huge lot. The lake frontage is sandy, shallow and not weedy. The homeowners just added a mooring buoy so we were able to tie up our pontoon boat and fish every day. If you bring or rent a boat, the community boat launch is a very quick two-mile drive away.
Burt Lake is amazing! It is a huge lake with clear water, a sandy / shallow bottom, and hardly any boat traffic even when it is busy. During our visit we learned just how desirable the west side of the lake is - where this beautiful home sits. The water was as calm as glass for 6 of our 7 days. The breezes cool the house in the afternoons and evenings (of course there is air conditioning, but we didn't turn it on during our stay in August). Although it would be easy to travel to other northern Michigan cities from this house, we appreciated how secluded and relaxed it was. We ventured out to Petoskey (25-30 minutes) for ice cream at the Bob-In Again, Pirates Cove putt-putt golf and last-minute groceries.
The owners were easy to work with during booking and very helpful when we forgot multiple items at checkout. Overall, we highly recommend the home and we can't wait to return!

PERFECT FAMILY VACATION SPOT
This clean and well-maintained cottage was perfect for our family of 10--kids and grandkids on one end and grandparents on the other! Comfy beds, well-stocked kitchen, large washer and dryer, big dining room table, extra refrigerator in the garage, free Wi-Fi, the canoe and kayaks and the rope hammock were all things we enjoyed. The cottage is set on a quiet road and we made use of the 4 bikes in the garage to explore the woods behind us. We also loved the large seating area at the end of the dock and spent many happy hours sunbathing, reading, fishing and snacking there. The steps leading down from this area shown in the photos are no longer there, but this was not a problem. Firepit on the beach was great for making s'mores in the evening. The screened porch was a delightful surprise and our favorite gathering spot for coffee in the morning. The water is quite hard and not good for drinking, but the owners supplied extra water and jugs to be filled at the free artesian well in Alanson. Scott and Cynthia were very helpful with suggestions and answers to questions we had. They made us feel very welcome with fresh flowers in every room and a cherry pie on the kitchen counter when we arrived. We had a great week and would highly recommend this beautiful home to everyone.
