About this house rental
This ground floor "bottom" unit dream house built with growing families in mind. Very comfortable queen sized beds and bunk beds This 3 bedroom luxury home sleeps 8 comfortably. Includes Wireless Internet access, flat screen TV, Cable Programming. The “lower” beach level home is a 1200 sq. ft. 3-bedroom with 2-bathrooms with occupancy limit of 8 and offers exclusive use of the beach deck. Sunset Beach sits within a green belt of non-metered overnight public.
Sunset Beach is the most northern portion of Huntington Beach and is a wonderful one-mile long “small town”, with year around events, it is close to many Southern California attractions - but nestled away on a beautiful un-crowded white sandy beach. Its name gives away our secret of breath taking sunsets and views of Catalina Island from these dream homes. Each home is approximately 6 miles from the Huntington Beach pier and just over 1 mile from the Seal Beach pier.
Sunset Beach is a beautiful, cozy beachfront community. It is located just northwest of Huntington Beach (Surf City) in Orange County, California. The two best features of Sunset beach is the fact that it is one of the widest beaches in southern California and the Green Belt that runs parallel to the beach from the northern edge of town to the southern edge of town. The Sunset Beach Green belt is great for walking, exercising or just sitting and enjoying the amazing ocean view. Since the beach is so wide and there are no beach vendors or buildings the sunset looks amazing. Sunset Beach is truly one of California’s gems. Typical local entertainment includes romantic beach walks, swimming, surfing, surf-fishing, bicycle riding, sunbathing, reading, relaxing, great restaurants, and just about any other fun activity that one can dream up.
Sunset Beach sits within a green belt of non-metered overnight public parking. There is typically parking all around the home at all times of the year. You can see aerial view of parking by mapping address 16525 S Pacific Ave. Sunset Beach, CA.
The building consists of two individual units which rent separately. The “lower” beach level home is a 1200 sq. ft. 3-bedroom with 2-bathrooms with occupancy limit of 8 and offers exclusive use of the beach deck. The “upper” home consists of upper floors 2 & 3, occupancy limit of 12 with 5-bedrooms, 4.5-bathrooms at 3800 sq. ft. and a 3rd floor deck with outdoor fireplace. The garage is attached to the “upper” home and is for the exclusive use of the “upper” home. Upper home can be found at https://www.vrbo.com/254059ha. Each home has entrances on opposite sides of the building, each home has their own paths to the beach, and their own outdoor showers. The homes do not share any amenities.

Best part of every day was opening the glass sliders and letting in the ocean breeze. Patio is fabulous, steps to the ocean. Wonderful vacation spot. Hope to stay here again next year.
in a great home and neighborhood.

Great property, with a deck right on the sand. Perfect location!

What a great surprise! The house looked beautiful in the pictures but to see it in person is a whole different perspective. Just beautiful, and roomy and inviting. This home has all the amenities I wanted, there was nothing I needed while I was there that wasn't furnished. I'll definitely be staying again, but next time it will be for a longer period of time.

overall great stay. only issue was the patio door not opening easy.

Right. On. The. Sand. Exactly what we needed: roll out of bed, grab a cup of coffee on the way out the door to the deck and the sand. Walking distance to local bars, brewery, Starbucks, restaurants.

Our visit was to celebrate our 55th high school reunion from a high school in Long Beach. Great location, as every thing we did was just 20 mins away from the beach! Access is easy with traffic lights to cross Hwy 1. My only disappointment was that the big sliding door in the living room was not functioning properly. Only half of it opened, and that part has a damaged track. It took two men to both open and close it, and it was very hard to secure....This needs to be fixed before I'm using the last star in my review.!

Place was clean and nice but a lot of things did not work, The outdoor grill did not work, The umbrellas for the table outside was broken, vacuum did not work the dishwasher was broken. I would stay there again but they really need to fix the amenities.

Walking out the patio directly onto the beach was amazing. Unfortunately we got bad luck with the weather as the wind was so strong the sand blowing was hard to be outside. We got one good morning and took full advantage of it! The patio doors are a bit hard to operate. Would not take much to fix though...tighten some screws and add some WD-40. Rooms are much smaller than expected and master bathroom needs some updating. The best thing I would suggest adding is to provide some coffee for guests staying short stays.

It's a wonderful location but the property needs some maintenance. The view of the ocean is blocked by the preperations for winter storms (man made sand dune?). The hot water heater had to be repeatedly power cycled to have hot water. The sliding glass doors are in need of maintenance/repair - we couldn't open them. The place was clean and accommodations worked for us. I requested some compensation for the things that missed the mark but never got a reply. If not for the issues with hot water and the sliding glass doors, I would recommend and stay here again. Just trying to be fair and honest.

Property was nice in a good location. We loved being right on the beach and only a short drive to many of the things we wanted to go to.

Great location to areas we were interested in and enjoyed walking the beach

Awesome place, loved the area… loved the views….The house was great, had everything we needed. Lots of places to walk to for sights and food. I would love to come back again and stay even longer. My two boys who are 9 and 7, absolutely loved it. They played out in the sand every day. Only complaint, big sliding door needs to be lubed up. A younger person or older person would not be able to open it. Other than that, place was perfect. A++++++++ 10 out of 10

We took my dad here to celebrate his 95th birthday. The location couldn’t be better. Just open the door and the beach is right there! Sunset Beach is truly a hidden gem. Easy parking, markets and restaurants close by. My only issue was the loud footsteps from the upstairs unit late at night or early morning. Other than that it was bliss!!

Loved our stay here. We had the best experience! We want to book again

My husband and I stayed with our 3 children. Unfortunately, the guests upstairs (two different groups) made our lives a bit miserable. The first group used the deck on our level (which they were not supposed to) and compromised our experience. The property owner was fabulous in dealing with them, but it was still a bummer. A second group came in and although they respected the boundaries, they were incredibly loud. Just know that the walls and ceiling are thin, and if you have a rowdy group upstairs you will not get much sleep. The location can't be beat....it is a walk right out to the beach. In the future, we will probably rent an entire house so we don't have to share or be affected by other renters.

This is our 5th time staying at this property and it’s gone way downhill since our visit last year. The first issue was the cleanliness of the house. When we arrived it smelled clean, but there were several areas on the floor that were sticky, there were random long, dark hairs in the refrigerator, the bathrooms, the master shower and on a couple walls. The kitchen counters and appliances felt grimy. I had to buy Clorox wipes to go over everything. There were huge stains covering the fabric seats of the barstools that appeared old. The duvet cover in the master smelled musty. The hand soaps in the kitchen and bathrooms were originally white but had been topped off with an orange gel soap and the result was a weird clear color and the consistency was like water and did not lather. We also had to buy hand soap for our stay. I understand hand soap might sound petty, but for the price of this house it’s really not.
The worst part of our stay were the mice. We found one in the couch on our first night and had to trap it ourselves to get it outside. I left a message for the property manager that night that went unanswered and not acknowledged. He must have called a pest control company because someone showed up the next day and set traps. It didn’t do much good because we saw another mouse on the second night. An apology, or at least a response, from the manager would have been appreciated. I don’t know if the cleanliness of the house played a part into the mice or not.
I feel bad for leaving a bad review but felt like potential renters should know. Maybe the property manager will invest in a deep clean of the house and a cleaning of the furniture.

While we were quite happy with the location on the beach, we were not happy with the fact that the A/C did not work the entire time we were there which, because of the heat wave during our stay, it was very difficult to get to sleep. In fact, a new A/C unit was being installed the day we left. The rooms were much smaller than depicted on the site and parking was very difficult. (It was Labor Day, so I guess we had to expect the parking problem)
We also had guests above us who, on the first night, had 6 kids running around until 1 am. The manager was very responsive to our complaint about the noise and the upstairs guests were very apologetic the next day.
The manager stated that he would try to get us a discount because of the lack of A/C, but we have yet to hear back from him.

It was a great fit for my family’s stay.
Very clean and everything we needed. Small patch of sand off the deck that was great for my little 1and 3 year old. I would recommend.

For our last beach trip we rented the top part of this home and wish we would of had the whole house so this time we reserved it all and it was amazing. We loved having the patio on the sand. The property was clean and well taken care of. We would definitely come back again.

Location, Value , Convenience
We showed up a couple of hours early and left our shoes on the deck while we went down to the water. The housekeeper noticed us upon finishing her work and suggested we call manager to see if he would let us in early
He said yes , the house was spotless and smelled clean like bleach! The renters up stairs were noticeable but not inconvenient.
I thought the parking might be a problem but even on Saturday we found a spot close by. The kitchen was well stocked with pots pans and utensils.
We can’t wait to return
This is one of the more affordable rentals on this beach for what you get. Body boards would have been the icing on the cake but we’ll just bring them next time!

Great place to stay, close to Disneyland.
Friendly neighbor hood and close to shopping. Great view of the ocean.

Sunset Beach
Property was great and priced fair. View is spectacular. Only recommendation would be to get better mattress or bunk beds. I would suggest 2 guest sleep in the 2 beds and maybe use pullout couch. Besides that it's a beautiful place to stay.

Get Away from the AZ Heat
Everything is how I remembered 10 years ago. The one downside was the neighbor to left (facing the beach) as the first night, he came to his balcony and yelled at my nephew that we were supposed to be inside by 10 PM. We were talking enjoying the lights from Rolling Palisades and a joke was made. I guess I laughed to loud. I don't recall seeing this outlined in the contract or in noise ordinances for this area. Otherwise, It was a great get away!

Several things wrong but location was fabulous
Annoying things:
Constantly dripping tub in master
Super slow shower drain in master such that after a 10 min you’re standing in a foot of water.
No instructions for the most ridiculously complicated thermostat ever invented.
Not enough trash cans for the two units that use the house.
No sound insulation between floors such that we were awoken numerous times at night and early morning by the second floor occupants.
Nice things:
Great beach right out the back door.
Walking distance to restaurants and grocery.

Make sure you have your allergy meds!
The place was very roomy. My family of six fit nicely. (Eight might be a pushing it) It had some nice features and would have loved to sit outside and use the patio but the weather did not permit. Check in was easy (although very late in the day) and there was plenty of parking. What we didn’t like was it wasn’t clean. It smelled clean because of the amount of glade plug-ins, but it wasn’t. There was thick thick dust on the furniture, ceiling fans, walls and fake plants. The carpets weren’t vacuumed and the inside all of the kitchen cupboards had a gritty film. We all had to spend time dusting and cleaning and airing the place out because it bothered our allergies. I emailed the manager, or maybe owner, about the condition of the condo; along with pictures) but received no response. He did show up a few days later in response to an issue with the second floor renters and when I showed him the filth he had no reaction or solution. I had to pay extra for “ Covid cleaning” not sure what that entailed. I would not go back to this beach. The town was nice and had everything you would need but the beach itself was disgusting. It was laden with garbage and debris. ( including a mannequin head!) It was not worth the price I paid. I could have stayed at a five star hotel with maid service. Next time I will.

Location is unbeatable
You can’t beat the location.

Great summer in fall
I loved the photogenic sunsets and ocean views. It was quiet but close to a lovely walk in quaint downtown Seal Beach. My daughter loved the easy drive to Disneyland and Longbeach movie theater. Kitchen had everything but a lot of the nonstick pots and pans could use ‘refreshing’ as could the table and chairs. But funky furniture aside it was a great place to stay and we all loved it.

Loved this property. It’s perfectly situated right on the sand. The only thing is that the neighbors upstairs were too loud. Other then that it’s perfect.

Beautiful location.
The beds were awesome. The stove needs work as it’s hard to cook a whole meal. Some burners are out. We loved the whole week. The only thing it’s missing is hooks for wet suits and towels even bath towels. NO hooks in the house or on the patio.

Splendid summer getaway
My family thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beachfront property for the week where we spent most of our time at the house. Wonderful layout, we enjoyed using the deck as our hub while the kids played on the beach. Everything was in ship shape order and we look forward to coming back again in the future.

Beautiful sunsets
Owner was very responsive to my inquiries. Great location on the beach, with restaurants and other services within walking distance. It was great to be able to bring our dog she enjoyed it too! The only surprise was the dunes the city builds up that acts as a seawall during the winter months. so your view of the ocean is obscured but we were blessed with wonderful weather so spent most of our time on the beach anyway. Great place to celebrate Christmas with the family!

Wonderful beach vacation
We have been coming here for years. Can’t beat the directly on the beach location. Walk off the deck and right on the sand. Kids love playing on the beach, we love the view. Comfortable accommodations. See you soon!
