Overall the stay was nice, but due to short notice of the booking, when we arrived the house was not fully cleaned. While exploring the property it was quickly cleaned and we had no issues with the cleanliness from then forward.
My fiancee and I did feel itchy from the bed in the cottage. We're not sure what it was but it was unpleasant. The property owners Amanda and Marcus were very kind and helpful with a few things here and there. Marcie was very informative and apologetic toward the miscommunication and uncleanliness of the property when we arrived. Overall the location is very nice. Though the pictures deceived us, we thought the cottage was right along the river and you could wake up and lookout onto the river.
Overall a good location and a beautiful little town just a short drive away.

We rented this house last minute for a quick weekend getaway. We had a blast with the tree house. Kids absolutely loved it. It is beautiful, well designed and a very special place.
The main house was also fantastic. Great layout. Good amount of supplies.
It is a nice location. The property Management company was outstanding. Excellent communication and wonderful to work with.
We will definitely come back to this house.

Loved the treehouse! The property was gorgeous and we saw lots of deer on our morning walks. I really enjoyed having coffee on front porch swing. The towns of Cle Elum and Roslyn are adorable with plenty of shopping and restaurants to choose from. The river was too high to really enjoy, but Cle Elum Lake is a short drive away. We will definitely be back to this property in the future!

Excellent getaway.
Property is nestled on 40 acres, remote and private yet still close to town. Day one got off to a rocky start as the AC was not working and it just happened to be 100+ that weekend. The owners were very friendly and accommodating responding quickly to provide us with a portable AC and fans. Although still hot it was manageable. Owners were accessible and knowledgeable about activities in the area and best places to eat and were always willing to answer any questions we had.. Both the tree house and main cottage are up to date with modern amenities, did miss not having an oven though. There is no AC in the treehouse and one restroom in the main cottage, luckily we brought a portable AC unit of our own. My nephews loved the treehouse! With how high it is off the ground it does get a nice breeze with the windows open at night. The river was close but moving too fast to really enjoy. There are a plenty of areas to explore and plenty of wildlife to be seen. Property is near train tracks and when a train comes through you can definitely feel and hear it. Luckily train traffic was very minimal. Overall it was a wonderful stay and would definitely stay again.

The cottage & treehouse
Our family loved the cottage and treehouse stay for the weekend. We walked down to the river, explored the property, made forts, visited Speeyli beach, went to Suncadia and ran the trails, played on the playgrounds, etc. The property was located close to fun adventures in the area. The kids really loved the treehouse. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

The cabin was comfortable and well equipped for our stay. We had fun exploring the property and walking with the dogs and a cup of coffee each morning. The owners are kind and generous people and they gave us great recommendations. The treehouse is cozy and sweet. Highly recommend.

I planned a surprise getaway for my husband's birthday with a small group of friends. Our goal was to have a place to hang out, play board games, and be a short drive to the mountains for some nordic skiing and snow shoeing. Being dog-friendly was a huge bonus for us - our husky LOVES the snow and we always feel bad leaving her behind on ski trips. There's a small fenced area right outside so we could let the dogs out and not worry about them running out to the railroad tracks, road, or river. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate with us too well and the snow wasn't great, but having a cozy place to hang out, make food, and the large property to explore made up for it! The place was far enough from town to feel like you were secluded but close enough to run to the store if needed. The only downside was not having an oven, but we knew that going in and made do with the toaster oven that was provided. Most common kitchen utensils were provided so we were well supplied. For sleeping arrangements we had one couple in the treehouse, one couple in the bedroom, and one couple that only stayed one night on the trundle bed/couch (it's basically two twin beds that are offset in height). Everyone said they slept well! The hosts were in the main house across the parking area, so we felt that if we had any issues we could have easily gotten ahold of them, but they gave us our privacy for our entire trip, so it didn't feel awkward at all. Would definitely stay here again any time of year as it's in great proximity to sno-parks, hiking trails, and the river! Thanks for the great weekend!

Great stay! The tree house was definitely a bonus, for us and the kids. Great property with the Yakima river just a short walk away. If you're a meal planner like myself, then plan accordingly....no oven.

We had a bit of a rocky start as the AC was broken, and with a 3 month old and 3 year old, it was hot. The property owner was fantastic in doing his best to comfort us with fans, offering their other place, and calling in an AC repairman. When the repairman noted it couldn't be fixed, both owners were very sincere and offered for us to stay at the main house. It was very generous of them and we really enjoyed our stay there, in comfort. The treehouse was a huge hit with my 3 y/o, and my young niece and nephew that came to visit. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay especially with how nice the owners were. We hope to stay there again in the future. Thank you

Labor Day Weekend
The location was very convenient for both the Ellensburg Rodeo and the High Country Logging Show in Roslyn. The tree house is awesome! In high winds it does shift and make some knocking sounds, I think a little grease on the rails will solve that. The river was high, no ones fault, but the paths on the property to the river were very over grown, so we were not able to enjoy the water here on this trip. We improvized and went to Teanaway Creek down the road off Hwy10. Only little things we weren't 100% happy with, first was the trundle bed, make it the last option for a good nights sleep. The description says that there is wifi, but it's important to note that it's very slow, there is TV, but we couldnt get that to work in either the main cabin or tree house, there is an Xbox, but it's not for games, it's meant to be used as a DVD player, which also didnt work. All in all, we were off adventuring or out and about, these were not as important details, it just would have made nights a bit more relaxing before bed to flip on a show. Thank you for the experience, the tree house is very unique feature and fun!

You thought of everything
We were in Cle Elum for a wedding a few miles away and booked this property so that my mother in law and preschooler could come along and leave early when the little one turned into a pumpkin at 8 pm. This was such a great place. The cabin has heating and air conditioning (so important in August!), snacks, a bottle of wine to welcome us, a well-stocked kitchen, towels and robes, and even detergent for laundry emergencies. We were very comfortable. The train went by a number of times in the night but everyone slept well. Thanks for making this such a great place!

Great little getaway.
Fun little cottage with something not offered everywhere. The treehouse was way cool. Didn't sleep in it but it's something cool to tell friends about. The property was great. Everything was clean and quiet. Nice peaceful stay. I stayed Friday before my wedding and was married Saturday. It was a great place to relax before and after the big day.

Beautiful! But quite noisy
This is my first time actually writing a not so positive review from any of my stays through the VRBO website. I typically have excellent experiences from start to end but this one was a little bit disappointing. Let me just say the property is absolutely gorgeous and The Treehouse idea was so fun and new! Our group of four was excited to stay there as there was a bed in the main house, a trundle, and a treehouse bed.
The two of us that decided to stay in the treehouse bed were in for a real crazy night. It's typically pretty windy on that side of the mountains, so we didn't expect there to be an issue with the wind but indeed there was! The Treehouse knocking and banging and branches hitting the roof and the side of the house was so incredibly loud that my partner and I would actually start giggling next to each other as we were both trying to sleep but the noise was so loud! There also was a train that came through twice in the night and although it's quite a Distance on the edge of the property, it was a little bit noisy and the people that slept inside the house heard it as well. No big deal as that's just quaint, but the Treehouse noise was what really got to us. We had gone to bed in the tree house around 11 p.m., exhausted from a fun day in the area, and finally left the tree house at 3 in the morning after zero sleep. I went and slept on the small trundle bed inside the house and my partner drove home as we were due to check out anyway the following morning.
Although I would love to recommend this stay I was disappointed when I relayed the information to the owners and they offered approximately a $100 credit on our stay as a "gesture of goodwill". If there had been notations in the description that the Treehouse was expected to be noisy due to the typical winds that are in that area, then the fault would be my own for not reading it. But indeed there was nothing of the sort and a restful weekend away became quite the unrestful event.
Hope this helps people make a decision or at least be more aware of the property. We only rented the small house and the tree house, not the entire property.

It was a very cute place. It was a lot bigger than I was expecting, it fit us 4 adults comfortably. Also would like to add that the owners were very nice and very friendly to talk to.

Great secluded dog friendly property!
This little house was in the perfect area, just close enough to town but still in the woods. We had a great time even on a rainy day with the well stocked game shelf. The fenced dog run in the back made it very easy manage 2 pups while still being able to enjoy some quiet time. The tree house that's being finished right next to the cottage looks like it will be a very cool way to enjoy this property on the next visit with another couple. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to visit Cle Elum!

Wonderful visit at The Cottage in Cle Elum
We made our reservation at The Cottage based on it's proximity to the river and Salmon La Sac and our promise to our grandson that we would camp for a night before the summer was over. When I asked about pitching a tent on their property, Amanda could not have been more welcoming to the idea. But it was after we arrived that we realized just what an incredibly site this was and what amazing hosts were Amanda and Marcus. It turned out that the replacement pole for our tent required a bit of adapting to fit to the tent and Marcus and his friend willingly stepped in and said, "We can do this." And they did. Their raising of our tent went above and beyond for any host!
And the cabin? It was absolutely beautifully appointed and furnished. Fortunately, we convinced our grandson to sleep there the second night! It has everything you would want for a wonderful respite. It has recently been remodeled with all sorts of gracious and comforting touches. We loved having both an outdoor fire pit as well as the gas stove indoors. I personally loved the fixtures in the bathroom including the "river rock" feel of the shower floor and the soaps and lotions from England!
This site is in easy access to a myriad of amazing spots to visit, hike and enjoy. We were fortunate to be able to enjoy the Roslyn Sunday market which was a true delight.
We spent hours down by the river, which was flowing very rapidly at the time, with our books and beverages. It is a truly restorative site.
And we were introduce to the next addition to this already beautiful site: a tree house!
When we return, which we most certainly do, we will be able to sleep up in a tree house and really satisfy the dreams of all of us!!
Thank you Amanda and Marcus!

A great cabin
We had a great stay, the cabin provides all the comforts needed for a nice getaway. Having such a nice cabin that is dog friendly is a real plus. The new Treehouse was not completed during our stay but looks to be an amazing addition. Our hosts were outstanding and were extremely helpful in providing information of the surrounding area.

The cabin was fabulous. If you are looking for quiet get-a-way this is the spot.
The property owners went out of their way to ensure that I arrived safely and did not have any questions. I will definitely be returning and enjoying another long weekend!

Perfection
This cottage boasts a beautiful serene landscape and an easy commute to The Gorge. It was a perfect “in-between” from Seattle and we had no idea that we would love it so much. It was much more than just an “in-between” stop once we realized how fortunate we were to discover this place. Marcus and Amanda were amazing hosts. Out of luck they made the house available to us a day early when we had a scheduling snafu occur and had room for us to add an additional day at the end of our trip once we fell in love with the area. They were very accommodating in a situation where I would typically freeze and not know what to do, so I was very appreciative of them working with us on a whim. Marcus and Amanda are not kidding when they say they can answer any questions – they also have a great amount of awesome suggestions like the meat market, bakery and this amazing jumping spot near Cle Elum. (I left some parking passes in the notebook if you stay there). Try the jerky that Marcus suggests, my boyfriend has not stopped raving about it since we returned and gladly shares some with his friends “showing off” this new find.
The cottage was lovely and just as described. The sheets were super soft and the living room is open with all the kitchen you need. The cottage has the cutest front porch accompanied by a porch swing and rails with string lights. There is a café table past the porch for a little nibble outside and perfect view of the main house. There were plenty movies available if we wanted to stay inside (comfy couch and trundle bed in living room) and trails to walk around the property that lead to the river. Maps were provided as well for trails in the surrounding area. The land alone is something to see, we regretted not bringing our packable hammocks. We saw a bald eagle and two deer drinking from the river just feet from the house. The bathroom is brand new, or is in brand new condition in my opinion. All other appliances were in working order and I assumed were new as well.
I could not imagine a better place to stay on my first visit to the West Coast and strongly encourage this location for the perfection in amenities, the kind hearted owners and the tremendous line of communication that the owners keep with you. Our vacation could have gone a different way without their help! We will definitely be back!

Comfy Cottage with all the Comforts
Great stay at the Cottage on the Yakima River for my wife and 2 daughters, ages 4 and 5. We had enough room and found the accommodations comfortable and clean. The location of this property makes access to Cle Elum, Suncadia, Rosyln, and Ellensburg super easy all while the Yakima river only steps from the front porch. The owners are friendly and accommodating. My daughters were bummed about returning home and said they will miss the Cottage and especially the bench swing on the porch.
