This was our second visit and this time we booked the gate lodge for a special Birthday celebration and it was so comfortable and very well equipped. Would highly recommended. Thankyou to all the wonderful staff both at reception and in the dining area .

Everything was perfect. The room was spacious, modern, spotless and comfortable, the food was delicious including the afternoon tea, the spa experience was truly relaxing. Most of all the staff are all so friendly, personable and could not do enough for us. A perfect location with beautiful walks and scenery. Can't wait to return soon.

The price

We paid £330 for one night far to dear.

Breakfast was lovely, (especially the pancakes!), & lots of choice.
Thoroughly enjoyed evening meal in Bistro.
The surrounding countryside was impressive.
If all hot food had been cooked on order rather than by buffet it would have been preferable.
Though I understand it was good to have a set time for families to use the spa, the early morning period would have been the better time for us, before getting into the rest of the day. As a result, we didn’t get to use the spa which was disappointing.

Everything about this place was absolutely outstanding. Could not recommend a better place for anyone to get away and have the most decorated relaxing stay possible.
Absolutely nothing.

Beautiful spacious well appointed room. Staff were young but friendly and enthusiastic and manager in the dining room was great, very helpful. Breakfast service also great. I would return.
Evening meal (tasting menu) was good but overpriced. Lunch in bar was good but staff quite disorganised and wait times longer than necessary.

absolutely everything
I would prefer if checkout was 12 instead of 11

Lovely bright clean rooms. Spa was great, not overcrowded! Bar staff was really friendly and informative about the hotel.
Courtroom lodges can just be a bit noisy as people are walking past.
Two bottles of soda water provided in room, no water.
