Perfect size house. Beds are small but comfy. Would be better if there was at least 1 queen or king. Very clean and relaxing.

Really cute place. Probably a bit older, but pretty representative of other properties in the vicinity and well maintained overall. We stayed here for the Thanksgiving holiday and got our immediate family together. Since we were doing a full traditional Thanksgiving feast for 5 adults we used the kitchen more than most guests probably do. We brought a lot of our own accoutrements (which was necessary) but the kitchen was pretty well stocked. Certainly not enough for what WE had planned, but equally certainly more than well enough for the average visitor. Not a lot of supermarket options in the area, so if you're planning on cooking a lot in house, a trip to Alamogordo (or bringing food from home) is probably your best bet. We did both since we drove in from Dallas.
Communication is always a major plus, whether in the business environment, in interpersonal relationships or in a vacation rental. The owners were very communicative and responsive to minor issues and questions. It snowed a significant amount during our stay and the owners offered to come clear out the drive and walkways and put salt down for us, which we gladly accepted the offer, even though we had all wheel drive. The owner had just bought a new tractor. I think he was having fun playing with it in the snow-LOL. It's a cute, homey place with 3 BR (one up 2 down) and 1.5 baths. Another shower would have been ideal but we made do. The place was well maintained and VERY pet friendly (which we needed with our crew) and the owners were just really easy to deal with and genuinely good people. The place is a bit older as mentioned earlier so it has a few little quirks but most homes do, so once you figure out the minutiae its pretty smooth. For example, the silverware drawer drops a bit when opening, which was a bit unnerving at first, but it never fell off the glides. You just have to be mindful of it. My wife and I are in our 50's with grown children. Our youngest and his wife live in Alamogordo, so we'll be visiting as often as scheduling allows. If this place is available we'd stay again for sure! That's the bottom line with any stay I think whether it's a conventional hotel or vacation rental.

This house is a residence and has everything one needs for a pleasant 4 day stay. The kitchen is very well equipped, the beds are comfortable and there are various places to sit outdoors. My reason for not giving the place 4 stars is the terrible communication Evolve provides. They did send me the address but on the day of our arrival I was as attempting to find out the code to enter. Waiting for information for 40 minutes is unacceptable. Keith the local manager iin Cloudcroft was extremely personable and helpful. VRBO should deal directly with local people not huge rental firms that rent all over the country. I had the same experience in Chicago in July.

Great home that we used as a getaway from the heat. Great location where the ladies could easily get into town and the men could hit the dirt bike trails. House contained everything we needed and more.

Good location for summer stay in Cloudcroft
This property worked well for our family of six (kids ages 1 to 11). There was plenty of space and hot water. A pack’n’play fit in the upstairs bedroom with room to spare. The starter supplies (paper towels, dish and hand soap, etc.) were appreciated. The neighborhood is quiet, and the location is great. We were a short drive to the Osha and Trestle Trailheads. We enjoyed meals at Brother in Law BBQ and Cloudcroft Brewing Company. The house is also just a short walk from a small playground. We would stay here again.

Cute place in a great location
My family and I stayed in this great little house for a week. It was clean, and comfortable, and was nice and close to town. The house was well appointed, and had pretty much everything we needed. Really the only issues we had is that there was no cutting board (we ended up using a plastic Tupperware lid for a cutting board), and the bathtub drained way too slowly. By the end of a shower there was a good inch and a half to two inches of water at the bottom of the tub. Not a huge deal, but the drain should be cleaned out. Also, the hot water gets SCALDING hot. Too hot to be safe. The hot water heater should probably be adjusted.
Other than those minor issues, we absolutely loved this place. We would highly recommend, and can’t wait to be back.

Cloudcroft Getaway
If you are looking for a cute place close to town with great kitchen amenities this is it. Upstairs bed and twin beds are a little lumpy but other bed downstairs is fine. Great heating and cooling system and wonderful views of trees. All the towels and linens were new and fresh and house was clean. Great BBQ grill. Would stay here again, although it was tad pricey.

Great getaway before the SHTF
We were able to stay in this lovely little mountain home for a spring break trip before the Coronavirus shut everything down. There wasn't much snow the 2nd week of March, but just enough for the kids and dog to enjoy. Ski Cloudcroft closed the day we arrived, but we ended up making the drive up to Ski Apache for a day of skiing. We had a little touble loggin into the wifi, but the propery manager had us sorted quickly. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Super cute and clean
Very cute and comfortable property. No frills but all you need for a wonderful getaway. The property was in a great location - quiet and just out of town and a quick drive to anything we needed. A few frustrations - no dishwasher detergent (they requested us start dishwasher when we were leaving) or wifi password. We had to text the property manager who responded with the password 4 hours later. Also, be aware that they have NOTHING in stock. Be prepared to bring coffee filters, cooking spray, laundry detergent and basically everything you will possibly need.

Weekend away
The cabin is well maintained and very clean. This was our second time staying in the cabin. Access was easy even though there was snow in the area. The roads were clear with the exception of a few spots of ice. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next visit.

It was perfect!
It was a great place after every day of skiing! Our teenage boys had a place of their own! My family mentioned to me more than once, how much better it was than a hotel!

Had a small problem getting into the cabin . But the property manger came right over and help us out . Cabin is very cozy and only a 12 mile drive from silver lake for fishing . We got use the fire place which was great .( bring fire starter ) or get a newspaper from local restaurants . It was so quite at the cabin and exactly what we where hoping for . Cabin had cable and Wifi , so our teenage kids where able to stay connected . Can’t wait to come back .

Wonderful 2 night stay
Pros: The house was clean and comfortable and in a beautiful area amongst the trees. We were a party of 3 ladies that spent two nights and enjoyed the peaceful, quiet cabin. The home contained everything we needed. We didn't light a fire but did cook on the gas grill one night and it worked beautifully. The wifi worked well too. Our stay in Cloudcroft was pleasant and relaxing. Con: The manager of the cabin should know that the kitchen faucet needs to be repaired. It squirts water all over - probably a minor fix. Also a dirty, stained washcloth was left on the hand towel bar in the bathroom. They could probably use some new wash cloths. The icemaker was turned off but rather than trying to make it work we just bought a bag of ice. The ice "bucket" was dirty and should be cleaned. It's not necessary but a deck or cards or board game would be nice.
We will definitely stay in the cabin again should we make a trip to Cloudcroft! It would be ideal for a family or a small group of friends.

Nice Cabin, but expensive for what you get
The Cabin is a nice setup, and easy to get to. It has everything you need for the most part but upon opening the cupboards and closets, you can tell the place has not had a deep clean in a long time. There are handprints and dirt up and down the stair walls which gives it a bit of a grimy feel. If the company were to take the time to actually clean good, I would give 4 stars. I took another star off because when booking, you have to pay a cleaning fee, but then when you check in, they give you instructions for cleaning the place so that THEY don't really have to do much, and they say they will charge you more money if you don't take out the trash, do dishes, towels etc. Part of going on vacation should be not having to worry about those things. For $200 a night, I expect better!
