Location was great !!
The other tenants that were there were very friendly and helpful. Definitely will go back!!

Almost perfect
-Not quite on the beach as photos suggest
-Lacking basic kitchen supplies; cutlery, better toaster, cutting boards, etc. Stuff that is there is an after thought from a second hand store.
-1 roll of toilet paper for a week?
-Don’t plan on grilling; inadequate
-Very quiet and clean
-Shower works well
-Walking distance to several bar/restaurants.
-People are super friendly.
-Very nice beach.
-If we came back we would definitely want to rent one of the larger nicer units. This one is kind of an add on afterthought
-We enjoyed our week. Thank you.

The property was lovely- very private, beautiful landscaping, right on the ocean a few steps through a short path. We had the smallest cabin which was fine for the week we were there- 4 other larger cabins are available. If we were to stay longer we would rent a more roomy one- but we had everything we needed-

We were moved to a larger apartment at no extra cost.
Very relaxing, peaceful vacation.Beautiful beaches, surrounding area and friendly locals.Only negative was the town of Freeport for shopping,it seems not to have recovered from the hurricane a few years ago.
Owner of the complex is a lovely, lively sociable lady, who is eager to ensure your comfort and overall wellbeing.
Port Lucaya,10 minute drive away is a great area for shopping boat trips and eating out.
Would recommend this for people looking for a chill out ,relaxing escape from hustle and bustle, with lots of sunshine and beautiful beaches.

Quaint, cozy cottage
My husband and I spent 2 weeks in the Sea Shell with our friends next door in the Topaz. It was our first time to the Bahamas and much different then what we expected. The island is more quiet and untouched then the bustle of many tourist places. We found this very refreshing. Gladys, the owner, has a knack for creating a relaxing and intimate atmosphere. While the studio met all of our needs, it was nice to have friends next door with a bigger space to visit and cook dinners together. Steps to a white sand beach and blue/green water. Found the Bahamian people friendly. Hope to go again.

A perfect little getaway
If you like falling asleep and waking up with the sounds of waves, if you like your own space and peace and quiet, greenery, fresh coconuts, and long beach walks, this is the perfect place for you.
Everything has been so smooth: booking my holiday, communicating with the owner, finding my way around the property enjoying my brief vacation.
I could easily picture myself living there and I already miss my little living quarters.
Highly recommended.

Looking for tranquility and beauty? Look no further!
I booked SeaShell Cottage for a month, looking for a place to relax, unwind, and generally recharge. I was not disappointed. The cottage, in a small gated community of a handful of other cottages, was steps from the beautiful beach and ocean. It was well-equipped and clean, and as described in the ad. No disappointments. Gladys was welcoming, and couldn't do enough to make my stay better in every way. The property is close to nightlife and entertainment, yet remote enough to give one a sense of peace and tranquility. I will be returning at some point to unwind again. Absolutely loved my stay.

Very nice property, well maintained, clean and best of all right on the beach!
We stayed at the Diamonds by the Sea in the one bedroom Seashell Studio the first week of Feb 2018. It its a one bedroom, with bath and screened in kitchen area. There is a great patio area for eating meals when the weather is nice, which it was during our entire stay. It is equipped with all the essentials for cooking and meal preparation.
The wi-fi was certainly appreciated since I had to keep in touch with my business. The patio area is nicely separated from the other properties so there is a private space on the patio for meals, reading and afternoon cocktails. All our other neighbours were friendly and sociable.
Gladys is an excellent host, as she would try to make the rounds of all the vacationers to see how everyone was doing, if we needed anything, or just to provide some advice on great places to eat. This was appreciated when we were determining our night out dinner experiences.
The Sandbar Beach and restaurant and bar just several hundred metres to the west of the Diamonds was great as was Cappuccinos. Great Italian food. The Sabor, located at the Pelican Bay Resort at the north end of the Lucayan Market is also excellent.
We'll be back, an excellent property and very relaxing without the horde of people and partiers.
I recommend that vacationers bring a full supply of personal toiletries and soaps.
You should consider a car as this locations is outside Freeport approximately 5 km. so if you intend to get around the island and grocery shop, a car is almost essential. We understand that Gladys will pick you up from the airport.

Quaint “hotel room” without the crowds.
We rented another property down the beach from this one room cottage and used this as a place to sleep. It served us very well and is nicely appointed, located in a gated community next door to the Wyndham hotel.
The bed and bathroom are quaint and comfortable. It has a small patio which is great for having a morning coffee before heading out to explore the beach and local surroundings. It has a kitchenette on the screened in porch (which we didn’t use as we met up with others when we wanted to eat).
This cottage is the size of a standard hotel room but with the addition of the kitchenette and covered patio). It would be great for a young person/couple on a budget who want to spend more time out and about on the beach or exploring the local adventures. Would be great for a single artist or retiree looking for a quiet spot. All in all, it was as advertised and nicely priced. We do recommend renting a car to get out and explore all the island has to offer and use this as a place to rest your head at night and coffee-up in the morning.

Awesome!!!
What a great cottage! We had the best time. Loved that the beach is only 100 feet or less away from the door. Cottage was very clean and perfect for a couple. The kitchenette was fully stocked with cooking pots, pans, utensils, everything you needed to cook. We had breakfast every morning outside on the patio. We cooked on the outside gas grill some nights for dinner.
The grounds were perfectly maintained by Jules. We loved that we had our own beach area with adirondack chairs, table and umbrella. We walked every morning on the beach. Shelling was great to the East, past the cove and jetty. I did some snorkeling right off the beach, there is some coral and fish to look at. We rented a car, which I recommend Brad’s car rental, and drove around the island. Driving on the left was a new experience. Make sure a download Google maps for offline navigation with your phone GPS. We visited Lucayan National Park, Gold Rock Beach, Pelican Point to the east, Paradise Cove to the west. At Pelican Point was beautiful, we hung out on the beach and setup our hammocks in the trees next to the beach. Snorkeling was great at Paradise Cove. The Sand Bar is right down the beach and we ate dinner there twice, it was great. We also ate at Pier One and East in town. What a great view and the food was perfect. The restaurant has shark feedings 3 times a night, which was amazing to see. We also ate at Agave, which was awesome and 3 times at Island Yogurt both at Port Lucaya Market Place.

Simplicity at it's Best
We just got back from a week stat at the sea shell cottage. The weather was amazing. That is not to say that every day was sunny and perfect, but clouds, some wind and even a brief rain shower do not take away from this amazing place. When you go to a place like this you need very few things to enjoy your self. The small cottage offered everything we needed. Besides the beach the patio was our favorite place. Sure you don't have a view direct from your patio but you have a nice secluded feeling. The small kitchen on the enclosed porch had everything we needed to cook our own meals or save left overs from dinners out. The bedroom and bathroom was great for our stay. The beach was great. I did some snorkeling and was able to find larger sections of coral where there were colorful fish around it. We went to both the East and West end of the Island and found Pelican point on the EAST end. This was marvelous and very secluded. I think we saw 3 people all day on the beach. We went each day to Lucaya for shopping and everything from a breakfast to dinner. There is a great bar call Sand Bar just to the west of the place right on the beach that has great food and drinks. I have only 1 minor complaint. We liked sitting out side for hours on the patio and although the seats were comfortable I wish they had some of the padded seats that some of the other units had. Otherwise we Loved this place. The owner and staff there are very help full very accommodating. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Outstanding and Relaxing
The property was clean and comfortable. The people were exceptionally friendly. This was totally relaxing and just what I was looking form. Hubby & I had a grand time and are returning next year with an update to the Key Lime property. Everything was so well taken care of, the listing was accurate and we received exceptional customer service. The beach is impeccable and we walked down to the two little beach bars during our stay (great there, too). I would highly recommend this!

it was a true luxury vacation!
This villa was located within a 10-15-minute drive of Freeport airport. Quiet relaxing and picturesque place.
We really enjoyed great breakfast time at the private beach every morning, had a beer and gazed at the stars above against the brighter background of the Milky Way every night.
Good size for a couple. It pleasant clean environment. Everything we needed were available.
You just need a rental car. Then you can stay here as a local person.
The Diamonds staff - Shirley or Jules provided us great hospitality and we appreciate to them.
The Diamonds owner - Gladys took good care of us. She gave us prompt and sincere responses.
If you wish true luxury vacation in Great Bahama Island, we would recommend here!!

sun and surf
This property is great for a couple who would like to get away from it all. It really suits those people who would like to swim, snorkel, walked the endless miles of deserted beach and enjoy the sun and warmth.
The cottage is very quaint and rustic. It is clean and for the most part maintained. A few things need a bit of up dating but it is cozy. You would need a car to get groceries or sight see. The caretaker is very accommodating and helpful and it is pleasant to get together with the other cottage tenants to share island tips. The beach bars that are within walking distance are fun to visit for lunch or drinks near the beach. Lucaya National Park is worth a visit. The beach is sparkling turquoise. Paradise Cove has a great snorkel reef. Be sure to go at high tide and you can rent Rx lenses.
It would be a great idea to be able to borrow a bike to cycle into Port Lucaya as just around as the island is flat and easy to ride especially if you did not have a car and you were happy not to go far from home.
We had a great time and would recommend it to couples who want something different. The bigger cottages would be great for a family gathering or a group of friends.

Simple, sweet, picturesque with nearby beach
My husband and I spent 5 nights in the Sea Shell which is newly renovated with all the amenities you need...You do need to rent a car to get around. However, there are a few restaurants walk distance if you don't mind taking long walks on the beach to get to them by foot...It's a wonderful place to get away just for the peace and quiet if that is what you choose. There is Bahama Bay Restaurant about a 20 - 25 min walk left of our beach gate. Good food, good service, decent price. From the right of our gate there is Margarita's Bar a few yards...they have great burgers and drinks...price is up there a bit. Or with a car rental you can do a little shopping at a local grocery store and purchase a few things for the kitchen. It's a tiny fridge so don't get too much. You may want a cooler (which Gladys may offer) to hold some things. Watch out for ants. We did have a problem with ants but they were mostly outside where the kitchen is. (The kitchenette has a small fridge and sink. A shelf under the window looking into our room and a shelf over the sink which holds a small toaster oven and a coffee maker-which we brought inside-she doesn't offer coffee fixings-you'd have to buy all of it-cream & sugar). It comes with kitchenware including dish towels. The kitchenette is like it's out on a porch but has a small wall with a window to protect it. It's enough to be protected from rain or wind.
Inside there are tiled floors which felt somewhat gritty so I would ask for a drop rug (which I wanted to suggest to Gladys, the owner). It has a fan over the bed and we did see an air conditioner but never needed. It could use cafe curtains instead of regular curtains otherwise you felt you needed to keep them closed for privacy if you stayed in long enough.
We were offered a grill but had to "borrow" our neighbors if they weren't using it because our grill did not work. Gladys left the next day so we didn't see her the entire stay. We met her-she is very nice.
If you want to head to Port Lucaya Market you will definitely need a car! We rented from Millie's...they were great (recommended by another B & B that we stayed at). FYI...you will be driving on the opposite side of the road if you are from the US and most likely the steering wheel will be on the opposite side as well...it's not bad ;))
Diamonds By the Sea was a really nice place to stay and IF we were to visit Freeport, Grand Bahamas again this is where we would stay but probably in one of the other cottages

Great vacation rental, wonderful vacation
In March 2010, my husband and I returned from a wonderful 10 day stay at the Sea Shell Studio.
The studio is a very clean, bright and cheery space with a small sitting area and a breakfast nook. We love to cook and the kitchen was small but well stocked with dishes, blender, coffee pot, fridge, microwave and hot plate. We also had use of a gas BBQ. If you do not like to cook, you are a15 minute drive from the Port Lucayan Marketplace which has quite the night life and a great selection of restaurants and bars.
The studio is surrounded by beautiful flowering plants and shrubs which provide privacy. And the best is that you are a two minute walk to a beautiful, sandy beach with a glorious view of the sea. Lounge chairs and umbrellas are also provided.
Gladys, the owner was a wonderful hostess providing us with great insider information about places to eat and local events and activities. We would highly recommend this vacation rental and look foward to returning.
