About this house rental
Originally built in 1873, with an extensive remodel and addition completed in early 2000's, this property is located just a short walk from Georgetown's historic town center and all the beauty the old mining town has to offer. Ideal location for those looking for a relaxing getaway in an historic town, while offering a central location between Colorado's many jaw-dropping locales. Find yourself midway between Denver and Vail, with Red Rocks and Breckenridge in between. Or, locally, just a stone's throw from Loveland Ski Area, Guanella Pass and the famous Georgetown Loop Railroad. Year round, Georgetown is an ideal location to exploit all of what Colorado has to offer.
Property amenities: Master Suite with jetted tub, double headed shower, gas fireplace and a romantic deck for two with views of the continental divide. A Bunkhouse room dedicated to kids, containing bean bags , video games and bunk beds for three. "Yellow Room" with Queen bed and sitting area. "Purple Room" with a queen bed and "widows walk" private balcony perfectly suited for couple's who enjoy watching the sunrise over the mountains.
Main floor features a Victorian parlor with fireplace, living room, dining room (with access to BBQ deck), powder room and an updated gourmet kitchen perfect for families who love to cook.

The home was delightful, as described, well stocked kitchen supplies, nice niches to gather in.

We found the house to be easy to access, clean, and in a great location for walking through town. The beds were a bit on the hard side for all three couples, and the pillows were extremely flat. But other than that we were comfortable and had a good stay. We’d recommend getting groceries before coming to town because there really isn’t much in Georgetown, however the coffee shop, restaurants and bars were all great. We didn’t cook at the house because we couldn’t find groceries but the kitchen setup seemed good.

My adult family of 5 with three adult children in their 20's were very satisfied with this VRBO. It was spacious, close to many ski resorts and the owner was very responsive to any questions we had. Unfortunately, many of the shops in Georgetown close after the New Year but we did enjoy strolling the downtown area on our day off from the slopes. I would not recommend walking to downtown in winter due to steep incline from VRBO to downtown plus chilly temps once the sun goes down. Would recommend this VRBO & rebook it without hesitation. The “purple house” has become our go-to home in beautiful Georgetown. Always warmly decorated for the holidays it welcomes us to our Holiday Market stay each year. Without exception every store and restaurant owner and town employee was gracious and thankful for our business and visit to town. It was a cold, windy weekend but hearts and spirits were warm and giving. Our family LOVES this town and will be sure to return for our 19th year next year making sure to stay in this beautiful Victorian home. Thank you for the lovely memories.

I needed a place to reconnect with my soul, as corny as that sounds, and this was just the place. In fact, I booked an extra couple of days on to my stay here because of this house and the tranquility. I’m wish I didn’t have to leave. I’ll be back for sure.

We had a good time in a nice partially renovated home. The creak of the wood floors , open windows and train horn in the distant paired well with the modern renovations supporting some normal routines.

Perfect Getaway
I can’t begin to describe how welcoming this home was upon our arrival. It was a cold, snowy, WINDY late afternoon but the outside Christmas lights were on to welcome us. Upon entering the house, no, upon entering the home the lights were on inside also as warm tree lights and decorations graced each room. We could not have been more delighted.
This is our third stay at “the purple house” and it will not be our last. We settled in and waited for more family members to arrive. It was a wonderful weekend, and we could not have enjoyed ourselves more. The only thing we needed was more time so we have decided to book a longer stay next time.
Thank you for a clean, well-maintained, and MOST enjoyable weekend Karen. We will be back. ❤️

Multi-generation family fun
This is our second stay at this property and it's perfect for our multi-generation family. Plenty of space and great kitchen for family meals. We love Georgetown. Lot's of fun things to do and restaurants. Could make this an annual get away. Love it.

Purple Reign- updated historical home
We stayed at Morrison house for 10 days at the beginning of August. The house was very clean, comfortable, and well equipped. We loved the master bathroom, especially the super shower. Karen was super-responsive to questions, everything went very smoothly. The Georgetown location was lovely, we explored the immediate area, trails going up to and at Guanella Pass, rode the Georgetown loop railroad, etc. We also made it up to Rocky Mtn Nat’l park (about 1-1/2 hour drive) and Buena Vista to do some 4 wheeling. Georgetown was 10-15 degrees cooler than down in Golden/Lakewood, great getaway.

Property and location
The house had plenty of room. We have lots of family in Georgetown (4 generations of Anderson’s) since 1870. We had a family group of about 20 for dinner and everyone was very impressed with the house. It’s an easy walk to the downtown district.

Beautiful Mountain Retreat
Part of me wants to keep this wonderful home a secret all to ourselves; the other part of me knows Karen’s efforts need to be shared with everyone.
This home meets all of our needs. Grandparents, parents, children and infants are all accommodated in this beautiful home. A lovely, morning mountain hike was nearby that all of us could enjoy. A two minute walk for shopping in the afternoon awaited us later in the day.
My five-year old grandson LOVES the purple house and looks forward now to our yearly visit.
Thank you so much Karen for being so understanding and flexible with us during COVID and snowstorms. You are awesome.

Cute and Perfect
We usually do a holiday kickoff at the Gaylord every year but with COVID we wanted to still do a trip without but without being around people. This house was so cute and in a great location. It had everything we needed and then some. We will for sure be staying there again!

The stay that COVID prevented
Shout out to Karen for her understanding in my family's situation. We had reserved the house for a weekend stay with a few of my siblings. Unfortunately, four of us received positive test results for COVID *the night before* our scheduled stay. We requested to cancel at the last minute, and Karen made it possible for us. A great week in Colorado!
Location was great--just a couple of blocks from the main street of Georgetown--shops and restaurants; although because of Covid we cooked in most meals--kitchen was absolutely fabulous . . . any type of dish or utensil you needed to cook with was there. Really a home away from home! Totally enjoyed our stay! I had a couple of questions for the owner, and she answered them immediately! Entire place was immaculately clean!

Absolutely amazing!
This was such an awesome house! It definitely had the feel of the 1870's but had all the amenities, beyond what you would expect, in a current home. Very good vibes. The bed in the master was so so comfortable and the master bathroom was amazing. The 4 star rating on cleanliness was only because there was pet hair on the sectional in the living room. Everything else was near perfect. Thank you for sharing this awesome home with us.

Beautiful, peaceful, historic
We had a perfect stay at this gorgeous Victorian. This home was restored lovingly with historic pictures and touches. Yet was completely modern. My husband (who is a dedicated cook) said this was probably the most well appointed kitchen at any VRBO. It had everything he could need. The living areas were comfortable with a bit TV, the bedrooms were also comfortable and the master bath gorgeous. Just a quick walk to historic Georgetown. We would enjoy staying here again!
