This was a great option for my large family of ages ranging from 1 to 70. Everyone could go up to the apartment as often as they needed from the beach and switch over to the pool when needed. The apartment was well stocked with linens and kitchen things. The view of sunrise was beautiful. Only down sides were the water pressure in the showers wasn’t great and made washing a lot of hair pretty difficult and the beds were comfortable but a little wonky in shape. Finally, Kure Beach itself just needs a little knowledge of where the tide reaches and when so you don’t get your things wet. The beach gets to be pretty small during high tide so maybe a better time to be at the pool then if you have a lot of people or little ones hoping to play safely. The property managers were very responsive.

Everything was as described. Any questions we had prior to or during our stay were quickly answered. In fact, the communication was top notch. If I could give the communication 6 stars I would. Instructions were great, checking in with us while we were there was appreciated. We felt welcomed and comfortable.
Beach access point very close. Quick walk to Rec Center. Longer walk to pier but nice way to start the morning. Shoreline here is all sand, some units in the higher number buildings have rocky ledges. Outdoor pool steps away, indoor pool at rec center. Everything in working order. Carolina Beach very short drive away for more restaurants and things to do. Wilmington just past that with anything else you could need

The place needs a BIG over haul in cleaning corners in bath rooms and be updated! Garbage can in kitchen was never cleaned. The HOA needs to replace ALL decks and stairs. Carpet on steps was filthy, most of the outlets did not work. This is the first time my family has visited this area. Will Not come back. We have gone to Emerald Isle, and Topsail since 1987. Thought we would try something new. I might as well thrown my money in the ocean.
4.0 / 5.0
The location is fantastic, and the ocean views are incredible. Very short walk to the beach access point. As one gets closer to the southern end of Kure Beach, beach erosion has resulted in almost no beachfront area in front of the properties. The ocean, at high tide, is almost at their doorstep. At this location, there is plenty of beach left at high tide.
The internet bandwidth is much lower than I'm used to (about 80 Mbps download and 8 Mbps upload on WiFi at the rental versus about 350 Mbps for both down and upload on WiFi where I live). Fast forwarding or backing up a previously recorded Olympic event was a 50/50 proposition. Some websites just took too long to load and the effort was abandoned.
The mattress in the master bedroom has permanent indentations from prior use. The room layout is great, and the management company was forward leaning in maintaining contact with us. All the appliances worked, and the water pressure allowed for simultaneous showers.
There is enough ground level parking beneath the rental unit to accommodate 2-3 cars. The Yakima Skybox we had mounted to the roof of our 4Runner made our vehicle too tall to fit inside the garage, so we parked just outside the garage space. There is plenty of space in the parking lot for maneuvering and backing.
Everything considered, I highly recommend this property.

This property was a great place for our family of 7! The bunk beds were perfect for the kids. The deck was great to enjoy coffee in the morning and watch the sunrise. The location of the condo was perfect for the beach and pool! It was amazing just being a few steps away!

Very roomy townhouse directly on the beach. Property also offers 2 swimming pools and a hot tub. Relaxing..

We chose this property for its location and space and it did not disappoint! Short walk to the coquina (mossy) rocks. 3 bedrooms with the master being huge! 3 bathrooms so no sharing showers. Had a wonderful time!!! Tons of fun activities within a short drive!!!
4.0 / 5.0
Great location. The unit was nice but could use some things fixed up and you only had 1 towel and washcloth for each person which I have never seen in properties I have stayed in. Overall, it was a good stay.
5.0 / 5.0
Stayed with my two sons and their families (total 9 people). The view is fantastic and access to beach and pool is great. There were beach toys and chairs. Loved the table on the porch for meals and ocean view. Kitchen was a bit of a challenge for a family that has lots of cooks but we made it work. Wish we could have stayed longer!
5.0 / 5.0
You couldnt get any closer to the beach if you tried. This place was in a great area. It was very quiet and not a ton of traffic but close enough to all the fun that you dont mind coming and going. The condition of the home was fine. Its one of those places you want to rent when you have the kids and dont want to worry about small scratches or dirty fingers. For a girls only trip we would have enjoyed it being a little newer with more updates but it was still a great place overall and the price was right!

The town house was in a great location near lots of fun things for families to do. The view was beautiful and the management company was very nice and responsive. We had 6 people in the house and it was plenty of room for all.

My family and I had an great time. The location was amazing and you can’t beat being right on the beach. iTrip was accommodating and quick to answer any questions I had. I would absolutely stay here again.

We greatly enjoyed our time at Dune Our Thing. The location cannot be topped. Being within sight and earshot of the beach was such a delight. Waking up with only the beach and water between us and the ocean sunrise was really amazing. Perhaps it was the time of year we visited but we were especially pleased with how much space we had on the beach just outside the condo (and peace and quiet within it), and we were five minutes from the Kure Beach pier to the north, and Fort Fisher, Fort Fisher Recreation Area, and the NC Aquarium to the south. We were pleased also that the place was so kid-friendly for our toddlers. We would recommend Dune Our Thing to other travelers!
4.0 / 5.0
The location to the beach and cleanliness of the property was great! While on the beach, we loved being able to quickly run back up if we had to grab something or go use the bathroom. The beaches were beautiful and not too crowded for summer. The views from the master bedroom and off the main floor were great!
The master bed was not great at all and we had to sleep in the guest room the second night so our backs weren’t killing us the next day, which was kind of a bummer because now we couldn’t hear the ocean as we slept and woke up. The master bath needs a bit of attention such as the non working fan, glued mirror on cardboard & a working hairdryer.
It would also help to have the high top tables/chairs on the decks for an unobstructed view of the shore while relaxing on the patios.
We definitely enjoyed ourselves and would have liked to stay longer, however some of the items mentioned above were a bit of a bummer.
5.0 / 5.0
The place was very nice and quiet, easy to get a spot on the beach, easy to get to shops and everything was nice.
4.0 / 5.0
We had a great time. It was the perfect location and so peaceful!
3.0 / 5.0
Great location on the beach. Very thankful for indoor pool.
Here are a few updates needed The whole building needs painting and outside steps need refinishing. When pulling ino garage there was alot of debris, should have taken a leaf blower to clean out.
When walking into front door down the hallway saw the cabinets were missing a drawer and the cabinet tops were cracking near the stove. The facut in the sink wobbles when i used. the oven filled with smoke because something was burning in the bottom of the oven was notclea. The kitchen ceiling was black around the ac vents, the light was cracked and looked like it was not very sturdy.
The blue sofa needs to be updated due to when sitting on it the cushions offer no support. It is like sitting on the metal in the sofa bed.
All mattresses need to have mattress pads. When sleeping in a matress covered in plastic with only a sheet it is very hot. The queen mattress in both of the upstairs and downstairs are sinking in the middle. My daughter had to sleep with her 2 yr old son on the lower bunk to get any sleep. The king mattress is sinkng on both sides where you sleep. The exhaust fan in the master bathroom runs but very little.
I know you guys want to keep sand out of unit but all the signs are over kill.
White towels, we all used our own because i was afraid if one stain was on them i wound be charged.
Unit definitely needs a rug at front door. Our whole family almost fell on the floor when coming in.

The unit was great. Lots of room. Had everything we needed.

Instead of buying Christmas presents for the family this year we decided we would just rent a place for a week and all hang out together. After some searching we decided on Dune Our Thing. It looked good in the ad but you never know until you get there. It turned out it just perfect for our family. My wife and I took the master suite. We listened to the waves at night and watched the sun rise over the ocean in the morning. Everyone else was pleased with their own rooms and bathrooms as well. The kitchen was very well stocked and met all our needs.
The table accommodated us all for dinner and board games. It was a treat to walk out the door and onto the beach in a couple of minutes. We seemed isolated with the beach essentially to ourselves yet were just a couple of miles to stores, restaurants and the aquarium. We all had a wonderful time for about what we would have all spent on presents. Presents are often forgotten but this week at the beach with our family will be remembered forever.
5.0 / 5.0
We enjoyed the condo and its amazing view of the beach. Right on the sand. The condo had everything we needed for our long weekend trip. Just a short walk to the rec center. It’s not far from local eateries, but we drove every time. We enjoyed Ocean View for breakfast and brunch.
We would stay here again.

The owners were wonderful, the property was clean. I loved this condo. The 2nd floor balcony view is the best I have ever had on Kure/ Carolina Beach. Love the layout, and the bed and bath arrangements. Perfect area of the island. Low traffic, awesome beach access. I hope to stay at this same condo again.
5.0 / 5.0
This place was great for our family vacation to Kure Beach. You couldn't be closer to the beach, and there was plenty of room for 5 people. My son was so impressed that he had his very own bathroom!
The downstairs bedroom does take in quite a bit of light from the street. Consistent with other reviews, we had to put up towels to get it somewhat dark for sleeping. This would be a very easy fix with blackout curtains.
The owners were excellent communicators before and during the trip - I asked if the pots and pans had been replaced after reading several reviews, and they had been. This made packing and planning for meals easier!
5.0 / 5.0
This townhome was perfect for my group of 7. Any issues we had itrip team addressed it right away. The coffee pot was broken they sent someone to replace it. I love the fact that the company is very responsive to concerns. I Would recommend this place to others. Sits right on the beach. Perfect views!
3.0 / 5.0
First, I was told that when you leave a review with itrip that it will automatically transfer to Vrbo. I have not found that to be true. We stayed at this property for 2 weeks at the end of June in 2023. The location is perfect, and the ocean view is incredible. We were mostly satisfied with the condo other than the condition of the kitchen. The pans are so warped that they don’t even sit leave on the eye stove, and you get chunks of metal in whatever you are cooking (not joking). While the pictures help make the kitchen look quaint, the reality is that the pots and pans are old, worn out, and not really in a condition to be used. There is also very little storage for any food. We will not plan to eat in as much on our next visit. I think we would stay here again. Our biggest “complaint” was the condition of the kitchen. Everything else was great. The beach access is among the best we have been to at Kure!
Main reason for the rating is the kitchen. Great for families who eat our a lot (as we usually do), but we were trying to cut back with us staying 2 weeks.
4.0 / 5.0
All the people we dealt with were very very nice. The property was in a great location could use some general maintenance
5.0 / 5.0
Great location accross the road from Fort Fisher. Beautiful views from living area and materbedroom.. each bedroom has a bathroom.. convenient outside showers to washoff sand and salt
5.0 / 5.0
We absolutely loved our stay; I chose this location because my daughter wants beach trips and my son likes history and nature. We visited the aquarium and did the Carolina Beach State Park flytrap trail (very cool to see the flytraps). Very short drive to restaurants, the pier, and the Ferris wheel. Highly recommend Kate’s Pancakes and Fork and Cork for eating out.
The townhome was very comfortable and having 3 bathrooms was a luxury with two teens. I found the bed and shower to be fine (I read previous reviews that made me concerned but had no issue). Somehow we could hear the ocean but did not once hear the neighbors or any street traffic. My only recommendations would be to have better cooking pans and more dish clothes for those of us who cook most of the trip (you can instacart grocery deliver from Food Lion or Publix). Also, my son suggested black out curtains for the downstairs bedroom due to the street light.
We will definitely be back and highly recommend.

This is an amazing location when it comes to NC Beaches. Much more private and personal here than at a beach like Mrytle. Itrip was an amazing hostess. Very informative, responses were quick. If we needed they could provide they came through & they did everything to help make it memorable. The cellular signal was iffy in general on the coast so if your dependent on wifi maybe not your speed. To me it was a needed getaway for me and the kids though so it wasn't a big deal for us. The master bedroom needs a new mattress. It's a little worn but not in a uncomfortable way. Other than that this place is fabulous. There is so much to do in the area too. They were helpful on suggestions. We will be back!

Staying at Dune Our Thing in Kure Beach, NC, was good for my family and me. First, communication with the rental company was excellent, even when we had a minor issue operating the blinds. The house was clean upon arrival and stocked with the basics, as noted in the email sent to us before arrival. The house was the perfect size for my guests and me to have ample space when we needed it and space to commune together. The two balconies looking directly onto the beach were a hit for everyone. The house was also comfortable, with the exception of the mattresses in the bedroom on the first floor and the master bedroom; they definitely need to be replaced. The location of the beach house allows for quick access to the beach, nearby dining spots, and grocery stores. Although we did not experience the fitness center, we did enjoy the community pool and the nearby aquarium. In addition to replacing the mattresses, my other suggestion would be for the rental company to explain how to operate the blinds to let those unfamiliar and familiar with pull-down/cordless blinds know that it's OK to give them a stronger pull than expected.
4.0 / 5.0
The master bedroom was beautiful however the bed was so uncomfortable with a huge dips (it’s 2 mattresses next to each other to make a king size) in the center of each mattress that we couldn’t even sleep in that bed we had to sleep in the bedroom downstairs instead and in the morning to our dismay there wasn’t even a mattress pad on the mattress. Yes there is a full kitchen, but the skillet is basically unusable unless you don’t care about getting chipped pieces of nonstick from the skillet in your food. And we had to wash all the dishes when we got there, all the glasses were dirty. Also with the bed, I looked at older photos of the location and it’s pretty obvious this is the same mattress it’s gotta be at least 20 or 30 years old!
Those are the bad things. The good things are: the location is the best, you basically have your own private beach section,
We’d go back but Only if the mattresses were replaced. They really were that bad! The room with the bunk beds upstairs has a queen it it was also severely sunken.

This was the perfect rental for 3 families including kids. It was very clean with all kitchen stuff that we were needed. Very beautiful view of ocean. Its a short walk to the beach. iTrip provided many recommendations for local spots. Everything was perfect. I have no complaints except wifi was not available in couple of bedrooms otherwise best condo for summer vacation. We will definitely be back to stay here again!
5.0 / 5.0
The house was perfect for us except the beach was under construction when we were at the property which made going to the beach and enjoying the lovely deck harder. I would suggest bringing blackout curtains. They were doing beach building all night and the lights and noise we had to purchase black out curtains but even just for sleeping in bringing curtains would be advised. This should not be an issue for future renters and the beach should be even better now, if that was not happening the condo was a wonderful location and would be perfect.

We enjoyed ‘Dune Our Thing’ ! The location was great, convenient & the ocean front views were wonderful! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked for all we needed & plenty of seating.
The only repairs suggested are the sliding
Door handle and the toilet paper holder in the first floor bathroom needs to be secured.
We enjoyed our stay, making great memories & we enjoyed the pool also! We always enjoy Kure Beach & the local restaurants are hard to beat!!
Thank you!!!
