Wonderful location and large home with a big pool. Some rooms had an odor that we couldn't remove with opening the windows. Fortunately there were plenty of rooms so we didn't need to use the rooms with the odor.
The check in process was easy and the property was in a great location that was very quiet.
Overall we enjoyed our time.

Over the last 30 years we’ve stayed at Quinta Mimosa many times. It’s a little dated now but that just adds to its charm. The peaceful surroundings and fabulous views are a recipe for instant relaxation. Swimming, reading and barbecuing with the beach and restaurants a ten minute walk away - perfect

The villa is amazing.
We were 8 of us (kids aged 1,3,12,15) Very spacious villa with an amazing outdoor space. The grounds and location are big enough that although you’re in the middle of luz you feel you are away from everything.
All facilities we needed for the younger kids.
10min walk down to the beach which our 3year old did with ease.
The pool was heated to a lovely temperature.
The only thing the villa would benefit from is air conditioning throughout the summer months. Most of the week the temperatures were fine with the fans , but when the temperatures increased it was a little uncomfortable at night… would 100% go back and hope to on the near future.
***100% recommend***

The villa is very spacious with a large open plan living area, a couple of outdoor eating areas, a games room and four large double bedrooms (all ensuite).
The beach and supermarket are only a 10-15 minute gentle walk away, though we ended up spending most of our time in the pool which is surrounded by a lovely private garden and tall trees giving total privacy.
The only minor gripe was that some aspects of the property are starting to feel a little less well maintained.

Quinta da Mimosa is a beautiful, large property that lacks nothing by way of amenities. It may be getting a little tired but generally it is a perfect spot for a family or large group.
We had some difficulty checking in as the code was sent weeks before and being non-Europeans we had no internet access to retrieve it from our emails. (Our bad for not retreving it earlier). The owner was super quick to help us out, however.
Please note if you plan to use the oven, there is a learning curve.
Finally, we would highly recommend Quinta da Mimosa as it is a quiet, restful property in a vibrant area. Thank you to Ruth, Sylvia, Jinny and Natasha.

We stayed with 7 people (5 adults and 2 children) at Ruth's place for a week the beginning of May. The villa is located on a hill and provides a great view over the sea. The four bedrooms are spacious, each room has its own bathroom with toilet. The swimming pool is (green-)heated to a comfortable 30 degrees Centigrade, the children could play all day in it. There is a choice of seating locations to enjoy your meals: a sheltered balcony for breakfast, near the swimming pool for dinner and next to the BBQ for.. the BBQ! Based on the pictures in the living room it seems that the owners are also staying here which provides an authentic feel to the place. There is plenty of everything: a large BBQ, a large kitchen with a stove, two large refrigerators, plenty of cutlery, plates, cups, glasses etc. There are two supermarkets nearby and the Intermarché Hypermaket and the Fish Market in the Mercado Municipal in Lagos (a 10 minute drive) provide one-stop shopping for everything else. Luz is a nice village with a great beach (but note that the sea is quite chilly in May) and lots of restaurants and bars to enjoy. Visiting the beaches at the Atlantic Ocean (a 30 minute drive) to enjoy the swell for swimming or surfing is highly recommended!

Staying at Ruth’s home was a truly wonderful experience. Comfortable, clean, safe and convenient. The town of Luz was so welcoming and easy and fun. Good restaurants galore. We hope to return soon!

A stunning property with fabulous outlook, pool and beautiful gardens. Ideal for a family stay as spacious with abundant areas to have some piece and quiet if you wanted some. Would highly recommend and would love to return

Wow! We were amazed at the size of the villa, gardens and pool.
The gardens are well kept and tranquil,. The pool is a great size with plenty of space for sun loungers. The villa seems never ending and the games room provided much entertainment.
The villa is in a peaceful area with fantastic views but only 10-15 minutes walk to everything Praia da Luz has to offer. We had a fabulous holiday thank you and would definitely return.

This Villa far exceeded our expectations. Uninterrupted views to the sea, heated pool, spacious en-suite bedrooms and easy walking distance to all that Luz has to offer

We had such a lovely stay at Quinta Mimosa having been lucky enough to get a visit in during May half term. The villa is really spacious and well laid out, with everything you need (even proper knives in the kitchen which is so rare in a holiday let!). The heated pool was a really good size, and the children spent hours in it, and exploring the lovely garden.
The villa is in a really convenient location - 5 minutes walk to the supermarket and 15 minutes to the beach (although we ended up driving the latter as it’s quite an uphill walk for tired children at the end of the day).
The beach at Praia da Luz is beautiful and sandy, with great rock pools, and a number of good enough restaurants. We also had some lovely days at Praia Dona Ana in Lagos, less than 15 minutes drive away, which is the gorgeous one you see in loads of the Portugal tourism posters.
There was a very helpful information pack in the villa which included loads of restaurant recommendations. We particularly enjoyed Chico Ze and Casinha do Petisco.
All in all we had an absolutely amazing time, and would thoroughly recommend the villa.

The photos on the website don't do this place justice! It's huge with an amazing view and equally amazing grounds. We stayed for 10 days with another family ( 4 children in total aged from 10-14) and all had a fantastic time. The villa is within easy walking distance of the beach, shops and restaurants. We spent most of our time in and around the pool. The villa is really spacious and clean and has everything you could need. Praia Da Luz is a small friendly resort with a lovely beach (the sea was rather cold though!) It is easy to get a bus to nearby Lagos. We loved our 10 days at Quinta Mimosa and really hope to return.

We've just had the most gorgeous 2 weeks. My two young children adored the villa during the hottest part of the day and the pool when it was cooler. Silva was a great help around the villa, keeping it spotless and also helped with some local knowledge and recommendations.
We were all extremely sad to leave after our amazing time.

Photos online do not do the villa justice, it is alot larger than it appears. Some less used areas could do with a better clean, ie games room. Views were amazing, outside space was perfect. Villa has everything you could need including a great selection of books, cards & games. Excellent location, would definitely stay again and recommend.

Astounding choice for a family holiday, the pictures do not do justice to the size and cleanliness of this villa, it really is wonderful.
We represented four generations and everyone loved the experience. The heated pool is brilliant and we used it daily often choosing to stay "at home" as opposed to venturing out.
All the rooms are self contained with personal bathroom and shower, the kitchen is fully equipped and there are numerous eating areas.
We are certainly considering a return to Portugal in the future and Quinta Mimosa will be our choice of accommodation , luxurious home from home.

Another wonderfully restful week in Quinta Mimosa. Everything, from the beautiful view to the warm pool and pretty gardens, is designed to have you relaxing from the moment you arrive. The villa is well equipped and comfortable. We enjoyed several great barbecue suppers watching the sun go down over the sea. A glorious week of weather too. We’ve been visiting for the last 25 years and still love it. Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise.

Well, what can I say. Just returned after 2 glorious weeks at Qunta Mimosa. Didn’t know what to expect after reading some of the reviews but we decided to make our own judgments. Yes, it is a tad tired in places, but does not retract from how lovely and spacious it is. In fact we all kept getting lost at times. So many lovely areas to sit and chill we were spoilt for choice. There were 6 adults and 2 small children with plenty of room. The pool was a life saver as we had 30 degrees every day. The views from the terraces were amazing. We found the management team very helpful, even buying a new remote for the tv and tuning it in. Silvia worked very hard, even though we kept the place as tidy as we could. None of us wanted to go home and would loved to have stayed for another 2 weeks. We definitely return and would recommend the villa to any of our friends and family.Only one bugbear was the road.....could do with repairing! The best restaurant by far was Boatys, went there twice, good food, atmosphere and service. Can we come again please Ruth?

The villa is spacious & homely, the gardens beautiful, the heated pool & sea views a bonus. We can’t wait to visit again!
