Although the property has amazing views, right on the water, the cottage has not been updated for some time.
Windows and doors did not open and close properly, windows and sills were very dirty. Outside lighting, some bulbs were burnt out and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were either not working or not installed properly. The water from the faucet is not drinkable and this was not disclosed until we arrived. Our host was very gracious and brought us a jug of town water. Despite all of this we enjoyed exploring this region of coastal Maine.

The house is located right on the ocean and has a deck with fantastic views of islands, boats and wildlife. It is spacious, well equipped, and comfortable with a responsible gracious host.. Because we are oil painters it was perfect for us.

Wonderful.....The only problems we had were that the weather turned cold and the heater doesn't work very well....Also it is not possible to completely turn off the shower from dripping.
This property has the best view of any I have experienced as a place to stay in my lifetime!

The vista from this cottage is drop dead beautiful. Islands, open ocean, wildlife (seals, ospreys, even a shark!) can be seen from the huge windows and the deck. The light changes constantly, and when the mist comes in over the water the surroundings are even more magical. The location is private, and a terrific base for kayaking, walking, jogging, and biking. Deb was responsive to our questions. This was a terrific week and we were sorry to leave.

Although we had several mornings of intense fog, it burned off by afternoon. The view was spectacular and very peaceful. It was definitely off the beaten path and took at least 30 minutes to reach downtown. Darimascotta was the closest town and it was lovely. We walked around and found a cute deli/cafe that served lunch outside.
Deb was wonderful and responsive to our requests. :) She cares about the renter's experience.

South of the quaint South Bristol barrier, this cottage is at the end of the island with 180 degree views of water, small islands and lobster boats checking traps. Deck with small table for dining and outdoor areas in sun and shade. Bring plenty of drinking water with you because you'll want to spend days at the cottage and any significant food shopping is back up in Damariscotta. You'll see many lobster boats and many pleasure boats as they navigate the waters around the small "Thread of Life" island string.

The pictures of the back, sun room do not do this property justice! Staying here was worthwhile just for the wonderful view. But we also had peace and quiet, were not far from shops and restaurants, and the hosts were very responsive. We had a wonderful time on our first trip to Maine. This cottage is perfect if you are looking for somewhere with peace, quiet, plenty of nature. Thank you!

Been renting here for a few years in September. The front room with all glass on three sides makes for magnificent views of lobster-men plying their trade and seals relaxing. We've had porpoise swimming by on more than one occasion. A great place to kick back, relax and enjoy the view.

We go here for two weeks each summer, and you won't find a lovelier spot on the coast of Maine for a better price. The photographs don't do the view justice. The large front room is glass on three sides and has comfortable furniture; we eat all our meals there. It is sunny and warm, with screen doors on either side to let in the breeze. All manner of boats and birds go by, and seals are a frequent siting. There's a small deck too if you want to sit outdoors. The house is well stocked with books and games for rainy days and the area has lots of fun places to explore just a short drive away. The community is small, with narrow roads so the traffic is minimal and slow; great for walking. There is no dishwasher or washing machine, but that doesn't bother us. If you are looking for an upscale community and a house with lots of amenities, look somewhere else, but if you want to relax and feed your soul, there's no better spot.
