Pool and gym are quite nice and appreciated
Staff is more focused on groups than other guests
Pool staff feels like in a kinder garden, playing between themself and yelling around most of the time, making the experience stressful and not confortable.
All in all the hotel is dedicated to pilgrims groups and being the one an only family in between more than a 100 pilgrims was unexpected and « interesting » to be nice…

Ambience, service and proximity to site
Pool opening hours

Breakfast was basic, but quite sufficient.
I love the history and archaeology that are such a part of the hotel's atmosphere.
All the staff are polite, helpful, and considerate.
A shaving mirror in the bathroom would have been nice.
I really can't think of anything else that I didn't like!

The Beach is not ready to swimming

The site is amazing... on the Sea of Galilee, adjacent to the archeological site of Magdala (home of Mary Magdalene). Amazing breakfast and dinner buffets are outstanding. Gardens, pool, spiritual center for prayer of any denomination, celebrating women of the bible, new testament and modern day.

bathroom without door - it's weird(. Unfortunately there is no furniture on the balcony.

Breakfast was fantastic. Staff was very helpful and courteous.
More towels. Wish the hot tub was open.

great facilities, including the antique museum, the lake shore etc. good looking room and great breakfast.
the beds in our room squeaked, but I assume it depends on the room, and it didn’t affect our overall great experience 😊

the room was lovely
the food in the restaurant was horrible!!! cafeteria style steamed and absolutely no taste!!!

The altenative room we got was very comfortable, big and with nice view.
The service at the desk and by the night shift manager was top quality
Quiet and peaceful
The nearby church is really breathtaking
Modern design surrouded with archaeological sites
The original room we ordered (Double bed room) was not very clean and poorly managed.
All double bed rooms are facing the parking lot - zero privacy, with motel-like atmosphere.
Dinner was really basic with poor amout of choices - does not match the expectations and price range.
The beach is not maintained - no seating and no lifeguard services.

excellent location , near to Old City and near to Jewish Market. Good israeli breakfast.
despite being a non - smoking hotel, cigarette smoke kept coming into the room ( 5th Floor) via the Aircon. we turned the Aircon off, which helped partially, but the room still smelt of cigarettes. we complained to the reception, who said they would look into it, but 7am next day, more cigarette smoke came into the room via the Air vents .
The rooms are old fashioned with carpets.

perfect for adults, so-so for kids (small pool and no beach). Great views and public areas, very good food.

Hotel: The hotel looks quite new and the design of the lobby and the rooms is quite nice. Well cared for lawn in front of the rooms facing the inner yard.
Rooms: Big, clean rooms with enough space to store everything. Good working AC that does not directly blow on your head (something I hate).
Hotel: On magdala.org the hotel is described as: „ Allowing pilgrims to spend a relaxing and comfortable time on this Holy Site to meditate, pray, relax and enjoy the beauty of the Galilee over a few days was always envisioned as a way to help guests find renewal, reconciliation and have an encounter with one´s faith.“
Due to this description we expected a quiet and relaxing atmosphere at the hotel and we expected it to cater to christian pilgrims since the site was blessed by pope Benedict.
Boy, were we wrong. There was one small pilgrim group staying there, the rest were extended families with dozens of children taking no respect to their fellow guests nor the environment. Loud talking outside the rooms till late, children constantly screaming and running around on the hallways outside other guests rooms from early morning to almost midnight, constant screaming and loud music from the pool, guests just leaving their trash on the communal tables outside so nobody else could sit there in the morning. If this place is meant to be for prayer and relaxing it probably should be adults only. Otherwise, the hotel should just be honest and describe itself as a family friendly hotel so that guests who look for peace and quiet are not mislead in staying there.
Food: Breakfast was ok, although the egg dishes weren‘t of good quality. Dinner was a disaster. The food tasted worse than in our canteen at work and this for 160 NIS pP. Dinner room is sterile, cold and really loud with all the families there. Do yourself a favor and go eat elsewhere.
The beach: Somewhere on booking or the hotel homepage it says there is an undisclosed beach right at the hotel but no life guard. Undisclosed beach to me means you can safely access the water. However, there is no beach. There is a stretch of shore behind barriers that say „Danger, no swimming“. It‘s full of garbage.
