This house was absolutely beautiful! Amazing ocean view!! Close to downtown and grocery! Most wonderful part was the kitchen was so stocked, I was able to prepare a full Thanksgiving dinner! Convection Roast feature on the double oven with 5 cooktop burners! Wow, just Wow! There was only one negative....upon receiving paperwork to firm in reservation, there is some language about "being watched" that was concerning. It made me a bit nervous about the reservation and I was unable to cancel. We did see our "observers on the first and second day of our stay as they "parked" right in front of the house on the beach. Maybe be a bit more discrete....:-). After that, we never saw anyone. I understand, people need to take care of their homes. It was just a bit intrusive and the paperwork is "scary". For future guests, pay not mind to the paperwork and book it. It was Almost Heaven. It was fabulous!! I would go back!!

The house was nice and location was great. It was my family, all adults. The MAJOR issue was with the neighbor and her mother. We were insulted and verbally attacked within minutes of arrival about a speaker on the deck. I was in such shock and couldn’t believe it. My young adult children heard derogatory comments when they would come and go from the beach. The older neighbor would stand and stare into the glass door from her window. I was berated the day we were leaving. We are a quite family that went to the beach to enjoy the week with out grown kids. We were constantly watched, it was truly strange and disappointing to endure this type “Karen” behavior while trying to vacation. I will not stay again.

Incredible!
So many wonderful things to say about this beach house! The views were the best we've ever seen both inside the house and on the deck (which is nice and private).. you feel like you're on the sand. The house itself was super cute and had everything you'd need to make yourself at home. Very convenient location with quick and easy access to downtown St. Augustine. Great surf fishing as well right out the back door. Highly recommend and can't wait to visit again!

Outstanding rental property!!!
We had the most wonderful week at this home. We spent Thanksgiving week and the kitchen had everything we needed. Perfect Beach Getaway with the family, and girl’s weekend trip. Plenty of room for everyone, loft area was a great place for my son to have his own space, and the deck overlooking the beach was our favorite place to be. We spent a lot of time on the beach because you are truly right on the beach. Loved being so close to Publix and down town St Augustine. The house is cleaned per CDC standards for Covid19, which gave us piece of mind. The view is spectacular. The owners were kind and responsive to any questions we asked. Everything you need was already there. The house was amazing! And can't wait to come back!

Much needed R&R time
We were only steps away from the beautiful and almost private beach and the first cup of coffee in the morning was always shared with the sun rise - even on a rainy day because the view from inside the home was as spectacular as the view from the deck.
Our time spent here was truly a slice of heaven.
The owners were communicative and helpful before and during our stay. The worst part of the week was having to say good bye. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Great beach house, right on the ocean. House has three bedroom, one on main floor. Highly decorated, would be nervous to have kids stay there. Perfect for 4-6 adults or couple with older children (both non master bedrooms have two twin beds). Given location in A1A, house has ample parking and easy in and out. Thanks for a great stay!

It’s all about the location
We stayed for 8 nights at almost heaven and the reason you stay here is all about the location. Right on the beach. The weather had the beach a bit wild some days, but we still swam every day.
I liked being away from the population center and enjoying some privacy. We slept with the doors open listening to the waves every night.
The property itself is fine. Would be good for a family as there’s plenty of space and nothing’s of a quality that you would need to worry about the kids wrecking stuff.
The beach gear was handy as was the laundry facilities.
But it’s the location which is the draw card.

Fantastic 4th at Almost Heaven
Almost Heaven was everything we expected and more! Rosemary supplied beach towels and chairs, a fully equipped kitchen and fresh clean linens on every bed! A deck for sunrises and a deck for sunsets with a private walkway to a gorgeous beach! Top this with great WiFi connections, super AC, and a grill for dinners -we never left Almost Heaven except to go to the grocery store 1/2 mile away! We can’t wait to come back!

Awesome beachfront house. You can literally just bring your bathing suit. House has everything you need. From beach stuff to cooking it has it all. Nice deck for enjoying the spectacular views. Great beach that was all ours for the majority of our stay. Samantha was very helpful from booking to checkout. All the attractions of St Augustine are just 5 minutes away. If a quiet week away from it all with lots to do just a short drive away, this is definitely the place.

Incredible beach house
This house is easily the best rental property my family has ever stayed in. It is even more beautiful than the photos show. Just before our arrival, one of the 4 TV's failed. The owner immediately replaced it. I believe that when the property is not rented the owner lives in it. It shows in the way it is maintained. We loved our stay!!

We enjoyed our stay. The house was very big. We ended up with 6 adults and 2 kids for a few days and there was plenty of room for all of us and we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. The view was amazing. The beach was so nice and very few people on the beach.

Almost Heaven Lived Up To It’s Name
My Husband and I are frequent travelers to the Vilano Beach/St. Augustine area as I have to come 2 sometimes 3 times a year for Mayo Clinic visits. Almost Heaven indeed lived up to it’s name. There were just the 2 of us and the house was comfortable, clean and had everything you would ever want in a rental. You really do just take your toothbrush. We have stayed in a whole lot of houses and none of them furnished paper products which this one did. We bought our own, but this was highly unusual and a nice surprise. The property is located close enough to St. Augustine we went out to eat almost every night, but the pizza delivery guy was close enough that they delivered. Upgraded appliances, 2 coffee pots, toasters, really a dream kitchen. The house and our time in it was one of the best experiences we have had in our travels to that area. We have already talked about staying in it whenever available on our next trip. Talk about going the extra mile, Rosemary and Samantha were just a text away and were so very accommodating. Only thing we needed though was how to turn the television on which was answered promptly. I did not watch television at all, I just relaxed and enjoyed the sun and the views and sounds of the surf. We have already recommended this property to our friends as we have nothing but positive things to say. Also there was every king of chair, umbrella, etc. you could want for a day on the beach. You will never regret renting Almost Heaven as it surely is. Thank you for a lovely experience and the icing on the cake was I got good results. Hope to see Almost Heaven again in the new year.

Great Location!
Although the kitchen has been remodeled, the rest of the house is quite aged. There were bugs and the house had a mildew smell. Several things did not work, such as the front doorknob, and a blind in the living room.

We have vacationed in St. Augustine for the past 7 years and have been looking for the perfect beach house to accommodate our family. After corresponding with the owners, viewing the photos, and reading the reviews, we decided to give "Almost Heaven" a try. In the numerous beach houses and top-rated condos we have booked, this house is by far the BEST. This home far exceeds the listings description. The layout worked perfectly for our family. The master bedroom was huge and allowed my husband and I plenty of room to put our baby girl in a pack-n-play to sleep in there with us. The bed was super comfortable, walk-in closet big, and the bathroom pristine. Having the two downstairs bedrooms was ideal as well. Unlike other homes, these two rooms were sparkling clean, airy, no mildew smells, had ceiling fans, and nice flat screens. Both rooms having two twin beds gave us many options - we decided to put our 3 year old in one room with another family member and in the other room, my mom. The owner thought of every thing - even though there are carpeted, long stairs going to the ground level, there is a mounted gate at the top to prevent any accidents with little ones. And if for some reason, the sleeping arrangements had not worked, the loft off of the living room provided a back up. The entire place was clean, the kitchen was gorgeous and completely updated with every thing we needed to cook at home. It is obvious that the owners love this home and take very good care of it. I had a problem with a blender not working, emailed the owner, and she was quick to respond. She had a back-up blender in the garage - perfect! The garage was a bonus and was stocked with a grill, beach toys, beach equipment, and even more in the storage cabinet on the back porch. We LOVED the deck! It has a picnic table (YAY!), lounge chairs, and built-in seating facing the ocean. We also enjoyed the patio underneath the deck on the ground level. Very breezy and a great place to read. The "garden" area was nice and the private shower to rinse off the sand was appreciated. The short boardwalk was in great condition. When the ocean was near the shore, it was just a couple of feet from the end of the boardwalk! (Thankful for the sitting area and gates at the end.) The beach is very private, no cars, and I found that I prefer the natural beach rather than the beaches south of the city. The view from the house is AMAZING. We HIGHLY recommend this home and plan to return EVERY YEAR!

The house its self, is very comfortable and has everything you will need need. Its is very spacious, bright and clean. There was hardly anyone on the beach, so it was like having your own private beach.

Almost Heaven is the right name for this home!
When we walked into this home it was as though we were touring a home in a Homes and Garden magazine. The beach themed decor throughout the home was beautiful. Every room was spacious and done up differently. As you walked into the living room and the master bedroom ,the views of the ocean were breathtaking.
When they told us to just bring our clothes and food and have fun, they were not kidding. The house had everything you needed. The kitchen was a chefs dream stocked with pans, dishes, and utensils that you would need to prepare meals with. There were enough linens and towels for our family to use.
At night, we would BBQ on the grill they provided and eat out above on the large deck. You are so close to St Augustine to go eat out but no one wanted to leave the house. They even had a shower outside to wash off after a long day at the beach.
Porpoises were seen everyday from the beach and the sun rises in the early morning were awesome.
This vacation was the best yet because of this spectacular home. We had no worries and had everything we needed for our family to enjoy our special time together.

Extremely pleased
This was our first house rental and it was great! The owners were quick to answer any and all questions we had, and we had a few with this being our first rental. The house was exactly as pictured, and was stocked with everything we needed. We only brought clothes and food. We were there during Memorial Day weekend, which we thought would be busy, but ended up with minimal beach goers around. The rest of the week was very private.
We can't comment on St. Augustine's shopping and tours, as we spent all of our time on the beach. (The waves were awesome)
I would definitely rent this place again. It was very clean and lots of great features.

We frequent the Vilano Beach area on our vacations and this beach house was exactly as described. It is close to the Publix and many local restaurants. It is also a short drive to the heart of downtown St. Augustine.
Many of the reviews were exactly as described. There are many vacation rentals to choose from in this area, however this rental fit our needs. Although there were only two of us, there was room for larger families. Overall we really enjoyed our stay!!
We will be looking forward to returning again in the Fall and renting once again.

Although our family loves St. Augustine, we were a little concerned going there during the spring break - we anticipated big crowds, busy streets, and very populated beaches. This is why Almost Heaven in Vilano Beach was a pleasant surprise. The house is located 5 min drive (20 min walk) from the center of St. Augustine right on a Coastal Hwy, nevertheless it has a feeling of being in a remote and private area. What you see on the pictures is exactly what you get: very open area filed with air and light, great layout, and absolutely amazing view from the windows. The house indeed is located right on the beach and has a private access to it from the deck. The ocean is so close (but on a very safe distance :) that my daughter was stunned when she looked out of the window next morning after arrival (we arrived a previous night in a dark).
There was 5 of us staying in this house, but it could easily accommodate 8 people without being crowded. It was clean, cozy, and equipped with everything that a family or a group of adults and kids need. The kitchen was very well stocked for cooking a very elaborate meal (we even made pies and soufflés). Bedrooms had plenty of storage, bathrooms were sparkling clean without any mold, plumbing problems, laundry room had very good washer and dryer, and there were so many TV sets (with a good choice of programs) in the house that each of us could watch different programs at the same time if we wanted... W didn't - there were plenty of other things to do because beaches, walking trails, Old Town of St Augustine with all its museums shops and restaurants were right there. Also, there is AC in the house so Florida heat would not be a bother even in the summer! The house literally had everything - charcoal grill, beach umbrellas, boogie boards... you name it. If I really have to name something that I didn't like it would be over-decoration with shells... but this , of course, is a matter of one's taste!
The biggest feature for me was the sound of the ocean - that was all we heard aside from the seagull's and wind. You cannot really hear the traffic from the road.
We had a great stay - I would definitely recommend this place to others.

This house is BEACH FRONT! Great deck and it's own walkway. Layout of the home is efficient: 2 split bedrooms on the ground floor with a full bath and laundry room between and then a large and airy master with en suite bath and sliders out to the deck on the main floor. Then a pullout sofa in the large and airy loft. Location is 1/2 mile to the bridge over to San Marco making it much closer to the historic district than St. Augustine Beach. We also loved the Cuban restaurant, Tropicana, in Vilano Beach (great coffee too) and Beaches overlooking the inlet and Vilano Bridge for their Beacharita's. Walking the bridge is great exercise and we were rewarded with scenic views of the intracoastal. Just bring your toothbrush and some $$ for shopping! We wish we owned this slice of beach heave and could even drop in on the weekends. We live in Jax and will save up to stay here again.

This house's location is perfect for a relaxing, yet close enough to attractions. When we arrived we were surprised with the size of the rooms and the great view of the ocean. The house was immaculate and comfortable. Everything that a family needs, the kitchen equipped with a lot appliances made our stay an no brainer. The deck was wonderful for the meals. You never get tired of the ocean, every day is different. Rosemary and Samantha were great to talk to and they give us some pointers about their favorite dining places. St Augustine is a great place to relax and also to explore a big piece of history. The locals are friendly . We wanted a house spacious and comfortable and we got it. This is one of the best spring break we had in a long time. We will not hesitate to come back. The Alligator Farm added something new this year, so check it out.
