About this house rental
Welcome to Sea Glass Retreat! We would love to share our home-away-from-home with you! Being that this is our second home, we take pride in well-maintaining the home, and respecting our neighbors. For this reason, we must stress that this is not a "party house", and therefore you must be 30+ to rent our home. In turn, I feel I should also add that while families are welcome, due to glass top tables, the pool, dock and canal, as well as our location being a street (not a cul-de-sac), our home is not suited for children under the age of 13. Security for our home and our renters is a top priority, so we have live security cameras that monitor only the outside perimeter of the home without , in any way, infringing on renter privacy inside the house or the pool area.
If you submit your rental request today, before you know it, you will be relaxing by the pool in the large screened-in lanai overlooking the canal. Dolphins, manatee, stingray, sharks, beautiful water birds and other wildlife have been known to frequent our canals. You can also fish directly from our dock. We are located in the heart of beautiful Punta Gorda Isles, minutes from downtown Punta Gorda and Fisherman's Village (with it's charter boats, quaint shops, open-air restaurants and bars). Two bicycles are provided for you to take a peaceful ride down to the wharf or explore beautiful, historic downtown Punta Gorda.
Directly across the street from our home is the Punta Gorda Nature Park with it's quiet walking path on a 1/2 mile loop. Educational signs allow you to spot and identify various plants, birds, insects and more!
In our 2300 sq foot home, you will enjoy vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan that has large zero-edge glass sliders allowing for fantastic indoor/outdoor living between the lanai and main areas of the home. The lanai has an outside, air-conditioned 1/2 Bathroom, pool (4ft to 5 1/2ft deep, so NO diving allowed) with beautiful LED lights at night (can possibly be heated for additional charge during winter months), extended patio area for sunning, a covered dining area and an outdoor shower spray to rinse off after swimming or a day on the water. It's the perfect spot to relax with a cocktail, read a book, or simply enjoy time with family and friends.
A paver walkway has been installed leading from the lanai to the 30ft wide cement dock area. Feel free to grab a fishing pole and tackle box from the garage and fish from the dock. (See pictures).
The Master Suite includes access to the lanai, king bed, TV, walk in closet, and master bath with garden tub, door-less glass walk-in shower, double sinks, sit down vanity area and private water closet. On the opposite side of the house are the additional 2 bedrooms with large closets, TV's with Roku's and a queen size bed in each room. Next to the guest bedrooms you will find the 2nd full bathroom with double sinks and walk in shower. Need additional sleeping space? A queen air mattress as well as a twin air mattress and linens are provided in totes for your use.
The spacious kitchen is fully equipped for all your needs! From dishes to bake ware, wine and margarita glasses, to everyday glassware, tea kettle, and kitchen utensils... we have it all! Appliances include Ninja blender, food processor, toaster, air fryer, waffle maker, coffee makers (Keurig as well as 12 cup coffee maker), crock pots, hand mixer, double oven, microwave, dishwasher and garbage disposal. You will find a separate laundry room next to the kitchen with a full size washer and dryer.
The 2 car garage provides one indoor parking spot and an area to grill. Two ceiling fans were also added in the garage for your comfort.
The Rental includes use of fishing polls/tackle, beach chairs/umbrella, cooler, bikes, DVDs, primarily adult board games, books, puzzles, light exercise equipment (stability ball, aerobic step, resistance bands), Secure WiFi, cable TV in main living room, (also, the Blue Ray player, Roku's and Smart TV's offer a multitude of additional viewing material, games, as well as the ability to sign into your own accounts if you subscribe to Hulu, Amazon Prime, Netflix, etc), BBQ grill, and washer/dryer. Utilities are included up to $325/month*
IMPORTANT POOL NOTE #1: pool heating may exceed the utility allowance in winter months and costs over those stated will be the renters responsibility and can be deducted from deposit at end of stay).
IMPORTANT POOL NOTE #2: During winter months, if air temp is lower than 70 during the day and 50 at night, the pool will NOT heat to desired temps, so pool heating in that case will not be possible.
IMPORTANT POOL NOTE #3: The raised spa area is NOT a hot tub. It does not heat separately and is the same temp as the pool. It serves as an additional small pool seating area.
No pets and no smoking. 2 week minimum stay. Discounted rate given on booked stays of 28 days or more.

This property has everything you need for an extended stay. Just bring your personal items and you are set.
The kitchen is the best stocked that we have experienced in all of the properties that we have stayed at.
The house was clean upon arrival and the communication with Rich and Laura was above our expectations,
The beds and pillows are comfortable.
The lanai was very inviting and comfortable and was one of our favorite places at the house.
We are planning to return in the future.

If you are looking for a vacation home that has EVERYTHING, look no further. We truly enjoyed our month in Punta Gorda and would absolutely love to visit again. We swam, fished, golfed, walked, ate at fun restaurants, visited every local beach, and watched plenty of football on the best football watching couch in Punta Gorda. The accommodations were an A PLUS. Thanks for everything.

A plus is a nature park across the street that has great trails for walking along with all the other beautiful parks in Punta Gorda. Bikes are provided and beach chairs. The hosts are wonderful and easy to communicate with. Punta Gorda also has many great restaurants and overall it’s a lovely community with plenty to offer. We’ve stayed in various VRBO’s which were great, but Sea Glass Retreat is outstanding and surpassed our expectations. We truly felt at home.

Fantastic Home!
We thoroughly enjoyed our month at Sea Glass Retreat. The home is beautiful! Great furnishings and lovely décor. The view was spectacular and the location is perfect. Laura and Rich responded immediately to a minor problem with Infinity. We’ve already booked a month for next year.

Stayed in this wonderful home over the holidays. From start to finish we were very pleased with our stay. The home was just as pictured, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the house was very clean. Laura and Rich were very easy to communicate with and the check in process was seamless. Unfortunately For Us Our Stay Was Far Too Short!
Sea Glass Retreat is a definite WOW! Rich & Laura, the owners, have thoughtfully provided everything you will ever need for your stay. The quality of all the furnishings, the dishes, appliances, cutlery, cookware, linens and towels etc. is just *first class*. Just add grocery shopping and a car to get around and your stay will be complete. The lanai area with the pool and water feature is a quiet relaxing oasis. Rich and Laura are very attentive and reply to any questions in a timely and helpful manner. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak we were very unfortunately summoned to return to Canada. Our 6 week vacation came to an abrupt end after only 12 days. Very sad for us. We would recommend this property to anyone without reservation. It is just fantastic and makes for a wonderful holiday. We have rented many other properties in Florida but none as outstanding as this one. Hope you enjoy your holiday at Sea Glass Retreat.

What else can I say??
We spent a month in this wonderful house. I really can't think of much that previous reviewers haven't said. The home is lovely; it was clean and well furnished. We especially enjoyed the comfy sofa, loveseat, and rocker (all with recliners), as well as great mattresses. Loved spending time on the lanai. Plenty of towels and linens; lots of cookware and utensils. Mostly updated appliances; large closets with many hangers. In every way a comfortable, welcoming place. Impressive as the house was, just as impressive was communication with the owners! Laura and Rich were fantastic to work with from the time we booked to responding to questions while we were there to following up when we left - just outstanding! The location was very convenient to all that we needed - groceries, Walgreens, golf courses, restaurants, etc. Lots of bikers and walkers in the neighborhood, including us. It was a most enjoyable month in Sea Glass Retreat and Punta Gorda - we highly recommend it!

Beautiful home in a great neighborhood with wonderful owners!
Every detail is provided for the comfort of guests in this beautifully decorated, spacious and oh-so comfortable home! The owners have though of everything to help guests enjoy their stay, from bikes to ride in the park across the street or to downtown PG, to fishing poles for the canal, to games, movies & cards for entertainment, and plentiful supplies and towels and even aerobeds provided for extra guests. We enjoyed the beautiful selections for home decor and artwork as well during our stay. The owners were so nice and very responsive answering our questions even before our stay, and followed up with us to make sure we had what we needed. We did not use the pool since temps were a little cold for most of our stay, but we did enjoy sitting poolside for breakfast or lunch listening to the peaceful sound of the pool fountain. A stay at this luxurious home is definitely recommended!

We have stayed in many VRBO and ABB homes and condos. This was the best! The home is spacious and beautifully decorated. It is stocked with everything you need. Everything is labeled and laid out perfectly. We would absolutely stay here again!

Everything You Could Ask For
Most impressive was the amount of room. Great kitchen, great livingroom, great bedrooms, great bathrooms.... Lots of room, but not too much room.
Plenty of room in the bathroom for all of the personal items without digging into the travel kit every time you want something. Lots of towels and wash clothes.
I like to unpack; lots of dressers and closet space for hanging items.
I don't do the cooking, but there were no complaints from the kitchen. Plenty of utensils, plates silverware, glasses, etc. We even cooked a meal in a crock pot for some friends nearby that were going through a busy time. Watched the fish jump in the canal as we ate dinner on the lanai.
As the cook was also on vacation we had a difficult time picking from the 5 star restaurants. Plenty of places on or near the water too.
Only got to the beach once this time, but a great day. As with the restaurants, hard to decide what beach to visit.
Perfect weather to shut off the A/C and open all the glass doors to the pool and patio. Can't do that at my house.
Busy day? Enjoy the wonderful shower or jetted tub. Got a chance to use the fishing poles and bikes. Dunkin Donuts is a short ride up the street.
The only regrets were: vacation too short, leaving the beautiful weather and that wonderful house.

I would highly recommend this home for a quiet, comfortable vacation. Beautiful and comfortable home, great location. Clean, well maintained and a beautiful view of the canal and nice pool. Owners were very easy to work with and responded quickly to any questions or concerns.

This Property is fantastic, comfortable, relaxing my friends and I highly recommend it
The home is located near shopping, bars, excellent restaurants and fishing. The home is very relaxing we opened up the sliding glass windows let in the fresh air and enjoyed the heated pool (pay extra to heat the pool it is totally worth it.). We grilled, created cocktails and enjoyed our friendship. The house has everything you need for 3 couples to vacation together. There are several excellent local restaurants for dinner and several locations to sip cocktails and enjoy the sunset.

We could not have asked for a more beautiful place to stay. Laura and Richard sure know how to cover all the bases when it comes to accommodations. They are also very prompt in communicating back and forth. Thank you for sharing this paradise with us. We would have loved to come back the same time next year but alas someone beat us to it.

Richard and Laura made our stay about as perfect as it could be. Everything was as advertised and a bit more with the wine and chocolates, which was a nice surprise.
