Why Le Marche?
Travellers who want the best of central Italy are heading for Le Marche, the third region, alongside Tuscany and Umbria, that makes up central Italy.
The region lies on the eastern side of central Italy, between the Adriatic Sea and the high Apennine mountains and much of it remains unspoilt by the ravages of mass tourism.
Many visitors who come to Le Marche are looking for a taste of the "real" Italy - you won't be disappointed.
Enjoy the deeply traditional food – blessed with bounty from the mountains, farmland and sea, Le Marche produces a varied, seasonal cuisine and truly distinctive wines.
Whether you want to admire masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture, trek across wild uncharted mountains or hunt out the best of the catch in a Mediterranean fishing port, Le Marche has enough to keep you busy for years.
Many tourists visit Le Marche for its natural beauty.
The Frasassi caves are some of the most spectacular limestone caves you are every likely to visit.
Most of Italy's Adriatic coastline is stubbornly flat. Monte Conero, just south of Ancona, is a rare exception - a high limestone mountain that plunges into the sea and guards a handful of delightful little bathing resorts.
Of the many seaside resorts, the prettiest is Sirolo on the Conero peninsula.
Welcome in Le Marche! Have a nice holiday!

Sehr netter telefonischer Kontakt.

We were with 3 families (6 parents and 8 children between 2 and 8 years) and we had a wonderful time. It is a beautiful house in a very nice, quit area. If you are looking for that, this is the spot.
The house is very well equipped and clean as well. It is large enough for a group of 14 persons, the owner and the people in Italy are very friendly as well. Beautiful pool as well.

We were a party of 3 families, 13 in total, staying for a week in August. The villa is superb, very spacious, quite remote and with no close neighbours. It was clean and well maintained. The weather was lovely and we really appreciated the choice of places to sit and eat during the day, in the sun, in the shade and by the pool. We all enjoyed making pizzas and cooking various meals in the pizza oven. The children spent most of the time in the pool, but the older ones also appreciated the choice of DVDs and games, while the younger ones had fun in the whirlpool bath. It was hot at night but there were fans in each of the rooms. Close by there are many places to visit including stunning caves in Frassasi which should not be missed.
We would really recommend this property and hope to return again ourselves in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Sasso in June (18 - 26 ). The views are fantastic and much better than what the photos can reveal, the pool is really as big as it looks. We had fantastic weather during the stay and enjoyed many walks around the area, particularly in the mornings before it got too warm. The house as such is in very good shape and nicely furnished, we liked the rustic style. The pizza oven is something you just have to try, we used it twice during the stay. Many of us enjoyed playing tennis in a nearby (15 kms) village named Moie. We were 11 adults and 5 teenagers and had plenty of space. You need a car for sure

We stayed at Villa Sasso for 10 glorious days from May 21st to May 31st, 2011. This rustic location is perfect for a peaceful getaway from reality to spend quality time with friends and family! You have to see the views in person to understand how understated all the pictures are....the weather was fabulous and we enjoyed most of our meals outside on the terrace. Although you definitely need a car, there are many local attractions to enjoy.
Would highly recommend Villa Sasso to friends and families!

I just spent two weeks in this wonderful location with 17 wonderful friends and family – 12 adults and 6 children under 10. The villa was extremely spacious, comfortable and private...far prettier than the website pictures would suggest...the views were magnificent all around.
We enjoyed lots of running, swimming, cycling and hiking. We had a fabulous meal prepared by Costanza and Gloria; a superb cooking demonstration by Moreno and Chiara and a guided wine tour of three wineries. We enjoyed attending a local “Sagra” where we tasted some Marchigiane specialities and learned a few the favourite dance steps.
There is much to see and do ... the beaches on the Adriatic were quite pleasant...here too we had some fabulous meals....the fish is fantastic.
Le Marche is not as touristy as other areas in Italy; however its people are gracious and welcoming – its landscapes take your breath away.
Un grosso ciao

We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Sasso - 3 generations, 4 families, children spanning from early 20s to under 10s - there was something for everyone. The generous accommodation absorbed us all very comfortably, and the outdoor terraces, pool, and garden gave plenty of scope for everyone to pursue their own thing when they wanted to. Badminton, table tennis, and an excellent collection of DVDs meant that there was always an alternative to the ever-popular pool.
Local chef's cooking was superb, and it was very luxurious to have it brought to our house and served, without us having to think about driving back home afterwards.
Plenty to do locally, although a car essential. Numerous hilltop villages to explore, great paper museum at Fabriano (more exciting than it sounds...) and live bands performing outside in neighbouring towns in the evenings.
Would highly recommend a holiday at Villa Sasso. Everything was clean and welcoming and with a local lady on hand to answer any queries or deal with any unforeseen circumstances (one of our party broke a tooth!), we felt extremely well looked after.
A fabulous holiday to remember. We just wish it had been for longer than a week!

We were a group of eight adults and Villa Sasso was perfect for us. The house is spacious and well-appointed. The views across to the hills are breathtaking. We dutifully went on excursions to nearby towns and villages, to the stunning caves at Frasassi, but nothing matched the splendour of Villa Sasso. There was really nothing better than wandering through the orchard there, or lounging by the pool, or having dinner on the terrace with the sun going down over the valley behind us. I can't recommend it highly enough.

We stayed at villa Sasso for a week from the end of July in 2008. We went a group of good friends all with young children. There were a total of 4 families consisting of 8 adults and 9 children with the ages from under 1 to 7.
All of the information provided by the owner prior to making the booking was great - answered all the questions we had and went out of their way to sort out any extras or requests we had such as extra high chairs, travel cots and providing some catering on site. So with this information and the photos and details of the property we went ahead and booked.
We had an excellent week and everyone loved it. The Villa was in an idyllic rural setting with views over the valley and surrounded by countryside with a great pool and very good size and quality accommodation. Although in a rural setting, it was still only 30 minutes or so from Ancoda airport, and nearby shops for supplies or restaurants were only 10 minutes or so by car, and the nearest beach was about 45 minutes away.
The accommodation itself suited us very well. The villa was in really good condition and clean. It had lots of nice old character features such as big oak beams in the bedrooms but with modern decoration and with good quality fittings and facilities throughout. The large kitchen area was particularly good for cooking, eating and entertaining and opening out to the great outside space on either side for doing the same.
The pool was a bit hit with the children. It was a good size and had steps down into the shallow end at one end of the pool which was particularly useful for the youngest kids. It also was a great place to sunbathe and take in the views...
The other big hit was the outdoor traditional pizza oven. We brought pizza dough from a local pizzeria and then all the children made pizzas and the adults tried not to burn them too much!
The owner and local lady who looks after the property also arranged for some local cooks to cook a couple of meals in the villa whilst we were there. I would really recommend this - really nice to have a locally prepared meal in the villa for the adults once the children were all soundly asleep! We went for a 'regional supper' which was a great mix of traditional food and another night we went for a mix of pasta dishes. Both were very good
So all in all, I’d highly recommend Villa Sasso. We found the environment, the accommodation and the area all great, and would very much consider coming back again

Wine, pizza...and a porcupine!
We visited Villa Sasso at the end of August. The house was great – so comfortable for all of us – the kitchen especially so well kitted out – and pizza oven a huge hit with the boys. And the views across the valley as we relaxed on the terrace and round the pool, sipping the local Verdicchio – wonderful! G & S were also so helpful and full of info on what to do and where to go. We loved that porcupine who bustled down the lane at dusk and the fruits in the orchard for the children to pick. Altogether a lovely stay, our best yet!
Many thanks – we’ll be back! Gill and family
