Cama muito confortável, ambiente comum silencioso, calmo e tranquilo, atendimento muito amigável e atencioso.

A recepção foi atenciosa. Lugar limpo, cama e travesseiro confortáveis, bom chuveiro. Tinha várias sugestões do que fazer em Houston, vários jogos para passar o tempo. Enfim, ficaria novamente e recomendo.
Poderia ter maior ventilação no quarto.

Very comfortable beds. The bathroom was in the dorm room. Security gates, door codes and cameras
The room was hot compared to common areas, making it difficult to sleep

Didn't like the location, drove there from Louisiana to a doctor appt.Once I got there I couldn't get in the gate wouldn't open, so I called to cancel my room, but could not take to anyone there, had to call back to reservation and still didn't get my refund back.
The location

Wanderstay is a great place to meet fellow travelers. It is quite easy to find others who are interested to explore Houston.
There should be paper towels in the kitchen. Or, assign 2 dish cloths to each traveler and offer replacements when needed.

the bed’s size
found the staff pretty rude and the location far from everything, like just next to the freeway and 10 minutes walk to have a bus. I would say just the way to come to the hostel is scary and have the gate in the front just gave the atmosphere of the area

Really friendly staff, clean, and in general a cozy place
It's a bit far from everything so tedious to get around and the neighbourhood seems a bit sketchy after dark

One of the few affordable and very clean hostels in the states.

clean and calm and easy check in even when arriving late. wide beds!
When arriving at night it seems like it is a bit weird/dodgy location, but it turns out most of Houston looks like this area. once inside it feels safe

Close by Greyhound, Clean, Hot Shower, Well-Furnished, Fast WiFi
Ridiculously difficult check-in process that’s overly reliant on tech. I was unable to upload my documents through the web browser, so I had to download the Google Drive app, upload my documents there, and then load them through the web browser.
If I did not have this brainstorm, and if my phone battery had died on me, I could have possibly ended up locked out for the night and wasting my money.
It also wasn’t apparent to me in the dark that there was a doorbell, and that I could have completed the check-in process inside. As far as I was aware, I wasn’t allowed inside without the check-in code.
I was absolutely freezing outside in cold weather for almost a half hour, and holding in the need to go to the bathroom.
Besides that part, the place was extremely nice, and I enjoyed it. But for a “youth hostel”, I ended up paying over $50, so expect to be paying for the price of a motel here.

The bed was a good size. Things were clean. Front desk staff was helpful and inviting. Nice to have a kitchen space.
The hostel is near the highway so I did hear the cars and motorcycles that moved on the highway which I wish was more quiet but I was tired enough to sleep. The air was kind of dry in the room so I kind of wish there was better air flow since I kept having to get up to drink water cause I kept getting a inch in my throat.

Friendly staff, check in after 9pm.
Comfortable bed.
Luggage storage was $7 (you have to rent a lock for $7 or buy it for $12). I think this is a bit expensive. For this money I might be able to take my suitcase to a luggage storage in Downtown.

not clean (both blankets and towels), room not comfortable and cold. communication have been terribile and i have never seen anyone at the desk. you need to fill a form to get a code to enter…would be nice and Smart if everyone would have the connection, but surprise ..it is not like this!

The location is great!
The neighbourhood is terrible, make sure you get gated parking for your stay, 2 cars had been broken into while we stayed there. Also the pillowcases were dirty.

The kitchen had everything you would want, and as a brit its always great when there is a kettle. The beds were double (even the bunk beds) which was nice, and there was plenty of communal space, and plenty of large clean bathrooms. Staff were happy to store luggage for me on checkout day so i could explore some more before departing too.
The bed was fine, but felt a bit wobbly climbing to top bunk - could it maybe be bolted to wall? and privacy curtains are always appreciated.
The downside with hostels can be the other residents (they can also be the highlight!), and some way to monitor this out of hours so the staff can deal would be good, as there was a difficult tenant. This is easier for the large 24hr manned ones, and understandably much harder for a small independent one.
