About this villa rental
CIN: IT046005C2IBZ5JIG3. Villa Maria Giulia, beautifully restored, is a luxury, charming Tuscan gem of the 19th century, comely decorated with antiques and frescos and elegantly furnished with all modern comforts. The house accommodates 11 persons self catering with its 5 double and 1 single bedrooms – 5 on the 1st and 1 on the ground floor. The 4 double bedrooms on the 1st floor have air conditioning as the other two have fans. It has a traditional living-kitchen with access to a terrace with BBQ and a communicating dining room. A large additional living/dining room with terrace grants relaxing moments as well as the large garden surrounding the whole house with scented shrubs, roses, century-old palm trees and the swimming pool (8m. x 4m. depth 1.20 - 1.50m). In the pool area a relaxing room with sofas and tea maker and the nearby terrace in shadow grants a great time.

Having stayed at the villa in 2017 we were keen to return as the grandchildren were now old enough to use the pool without supervison. The Villa was just as we remembered it but now with Air Conditioning in the bedrooms which was a boon in the 30 deg heat during that week
Roberta and Alfredo were very welcoming - pleased to see us again and helped with all our requests and our bad Italian. The Villa is great with plenty of space for the 10 of us and the short walk into the town finds restaurants cafes and gelaterias a-plenty. There is a large supermarket just around the corner and with Pisa Lucca just a short drive away this is such a convenient location for a superb holiday in Tuscany. We would highly recommend it

An incredible home with loads of room both inside and out. The pictures here do not do it justice. 5 full size bedrooms and one single. 3 great size bathroom/shower room. A large kitchen with dining room and four big balconies. We used both the outside grill and pizza oven. Plenty of wood bought locally and the oven worked perfectly. The pool area was perfect, decent sized pool and lots of space around it. The fixings in the house were period and we needed to adapt a little with plugs but it only added to the charm. Ac in 5 bedrooms but fans available in the other rooms. A washing machine which helped a great deal. We were 5 minutes walk from the centre of Camaiore and a wide selection of great eating places. Two supermarkets for everyone you need and easy access to main roads. Sonia was excellent as our property manager. I could not recommend highly enough.

My husband and I rented this house to celebrate our 35th anniversary with our adult children. We loved the small town location but were also able to take day trips to Portofino, Cinque Terre, and Pisa (thanks to the nearby train station). The house is a great size with a well appointed kitchen, air conditioning, comfy beds and a big pool. We recommend two things: hiring the chef that the host recommends for cooking lessons; and dinner at Cafe Centrale downtown (try the steak).

Amazing property with lots of room for a big group. There were nine of us, including two young children, and it worked really well. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space, with large garden and pool area, plus barbecue. The bedrooms are also generous, and there is plenty of room inside, including two dining rooms and several bathrooms. The views are stunning, with the Apuan Alps behind the property.
It’s a short walk into Camaiore town centre, with several restaurants, cafes and shops. Supermarket is also within walking distance or a short drive.
The booking and check-in process was really easy, and the hosts made us feel very welcome. All our questions were answered quickly, and they were very flexible to our requirements.
Would definitely stay here again.

Our family had the best time ever at our stay in the authentic Italian villa with beautiful surroundings placed centrally in the village of Camaiore. Camaiore is a nice village with several restaurants, coffee shops and bars. It is close to go the the supermarket and the local stores. We chose to cook our dinners and enjoyed the evenings eating and drinking at the porch. With three children aged 1 yr, 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 yrs old we spent some time in the house and at the playgrounds. It is easy to take the bus and train or go by car to visit Lucca, Cinque Terre or the coast.
When we arrived to the villa we were warmly welcomed by Roberta and Alfredo and we felt instantly at home.
Would highly recommend!

The warm welcome we received from Roberta and Alfredo set the tone for our stay. The villa is a very authentic Italian villa, don’t expect mod-cons, just enjoy the ambience and traditional environment it offers. From the sun-filled days by the pool to the BBQ evenings on the terrace we had a wonderful time, ages ranged from 3-70s, we were just the two of us part of the time and 11 at the fullest, everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. Camaiore was a lovely town, and we visited many of the gorgeous villages locally. Would recommend to anyone.

Clean and well located. Communication good in advance. Pool a good size. Traditional Italian styled villa. Pizza oven too big and needed a lot of fuel to get to heat and no provided pizza peel (minor thing in the scheme of things)
Recommended.

We loved our stay …. Location was perfect … a homely comfortable authentic Italian house - I would 100% recommend this property. We love being near to the mountains but only 15 mins from the beach … perfect for our family
Few issues - at the last minute linen and towels could not be included but eventually they were provided but we had to pay additional costs for laundering them at €10 per person … also tried to charge for electricity when this wasn’t indicated when we booked …
This issues were resolved but very stressful at the time.

Beautiful quiet little city in the mountains with great food and shopping within walking distance of the villa; close to Lucca and to other sites! The villa was a well kept spacious reasonably priced home for a week for 5 women- each had our own large bedroom with 3 bathrooms to share. Beautiful deck to enjoy in the sun as well as the rain!

We really enjoyed out Stay. The Villa is great, has a Nice garden and many cozy spots to relax (Veranda, terrace, Lounge …)
Next to the House is a regional street which is busy in the Rush Hours. But on the other Hand that means that the Villa is central an you easily can reach supermarkets, restaurants ans more.
We really enjoyed the stay. The Hosts ans our Agent were super friendly and Easy to communicate with.

The house is beautiful and offers lots of room. With 11 adults and a baby, (our whole family was here), we never felt crammed. Between the 3 terraces, the pool side, the living room, we had lots of options. We also were lucky and even at this late time, we enjoyed the pool every day and the ping-pong table. The house was very clean and nicely decorated. Everyone also enjoyed being able to walk to get a coffee, bread, a meal or discover Candalla falls. Also, we loved being by car 10 minutes from the beach and 15 minutes from beautiful mountain villages that had many trails for hiking. Lastly, the owners were very nice and accommodating. It was perfect for us!

We loved our stay in this Camaoire villa. There were 8 of us (4 adults and 4 teens) and the villa was spacious and relaxing. Because of the villa's excellent location, we could do some great hiking, fun day trips to Cinque Terre, Florence, Pisa, Lucca, and the beach, along with walking into the cute village of Camaoire for groceries, gelato and dinners.

Aug 2021: 3 generation holiday
Even prettier than the photos, this holiday rental is everything you see in the description and more!
Booking and check-in was very easy.
The villa has large sized bedrooms, and is generally extremely spacious.
The garden is well kept, gated and secured.
The pool is an ideal size with enough chairs and sunloungers.
The views from every angle are stunning and the only regret was not be able to stay longer.
Camaiore village is a lovely authentic Italien village with very few tourists. Streets are bustling every evening. Local fruit and vegetables were delicious and very cheap!
15 minutes drive to the sea and very close to Pisa, Lucca, and Florence.
If you are looking to get away from it all and relax with friends and family this place is ideal.
Light sleepers be warned: Clock towers ring all day and night - personally I loved it.

The agency as well as the properly owners are amazing hosts. The house is spacious, extremely clean, and although they kept the original furniture and decoration of the house, it is very well-preserved. We felt in love with the region and will definitely go back!

I stayed at the villa with my family for a month right after the country opened again from the lockdown (at one point we were 11 guests, including 4 children).
The villa is spacious and the garden with the pool is very nice (there are stairs to walk in and my children loved it). The view from the villa is stunning, with the Apuane and their little towns.
The owners are very nice and helpful.
The furniture of the villa is very basic but stylish in a way and functional with aircon in all rooms and a pretty good wi-fi connection (we managed to work on zoom from pretty much anywhere on the villa and outside). Beds are probably the only thing that would need an upgrade.
The villa is walking distance from the town of Camaiore, but there is very little to do there, so a car is a must to get Pietrasanta and the coast (Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio are pretty much at the same distance).

The whole holiday from booking to making transport plans and eating on the first evening was a very good experience. Sonia provided details for airport transfer as we didn't want to hire a car and in fact provided the transport with her son for a very reasonable cost and included us stopping off at a supermarket for essential and heavy items. At the property we were met by the owners who showed us round the lovely house and explained how things worked. As a welcome gift they provided us with a selection of food and drink which was absolutely wonderful.
The house is airy and spacious with plenty of space to eat, read or simply relax if you want to be away from the lovely clean swimming pool where the younger members of our party spent lots of their time. The view in all directions of mountains was breathtaking.
A short walk into town had the choice of lots of places to eat and shops and supermarkets for anything else we needed. Our favourite place to eat was Tutto Pasta but lots of lovely other pizzerias were great value to be followed by gelato from Meri Poppins.
We took trips to Lucca and Candalla Falls which are both worth visiting.
In summary a lovely house in a great location.

What a wonderful week we had in Camaiore. The villa fully deseves its five star rating. The children spent a lot of the time in the pool which was an ideal size for them. The bedrooms were spacious and the fans came in very useful.
The fact the villa was in the village meant that shopping and eating out was an easy and pleasureably experience.
A family holiday to remember thanks to Villa Maria Giulia . Thankyou

I can't say enough positive remarks about our stay at this villa. There was plenty of room for 13 for us. Its a short walk to Camiore where the shopping and restaurants are so good. We had a great time cooking for ourselves some nights, as the fresh fruits and vegetables are abundant . The kitchen and outside table were perfect for our cooking class. The kids loved the pool, especially after a long day in Florence. The location makes day trip traveling pretty easy, although sometimes some of us elected to stay at the villa and enjoy the local walks and sights. We were quite comfortable.I'm sure there's many small charming towns in Italy, but I have to think Camiore is one of the best.

This delightful villa was the perfect place for our 3 generational family summer holiday. Chosen for its accommodation, pool and location close to Pisa and Lucca this period villa with its stunning mountain backdrop on the edge of the town of Camaiore lived up to all our expectations. Greeted by the owners on arrival, our limited Italian and English jointly allowed us to understand the intricacies of the Italian rubbish recycling system, electrics, alarms,Wi-fi, pool and electric gates with "Phone Sonia" as the default when something unexpected needed to be explained! The accommodation is perfectly arranged, south facing with 3 different outside terraces which caught the sun or shade depending on the time of day and the pool was in the sun continuously. A small building to the side of the villa contains a quiet retreat with seating, coffee and comfortable sofas for those looking to escape the main house for a hour or so. In through the main door and to your right is the larger living room with TV,satellite and DVD sofa chairs and table and doors out the East terrace - this was the children's den and retreat from the heat in the middle of the day. Also on the East side was our ground floor double bedroom - stunning mountain views out of the window and able to watch the sun rise from our bed. On the left of the hall is the smaller dining room which links into the kitchen. A double door leads out to the front terrace with 2 seats which proved a great vantage point to watch the antics in the pool. The well equipped kitchen had everything needed for our stay and a very large American style fridge freezer was put to good use. Leading off the kitchen through double doors was the West terrace with a large table, seating and built in barbecue where many happy evenings were spent after the kids went to bed! (The handy bottle bank is just the other side of the road) At the back of the house was our WC shower room and a utility room. Up the marble stairs and on the half landing was the single bedroom, ideal for the smallest family member and then upstairs were 4 large doubles - 1 with access to the 1st floor terrace. 2 bathrooms - 1 with bath completed the accommodation. Everything was well maintained and where appropriate in a period style. A short 5 min walk into Camaiore with its many bars and restaurants was ideal and a 20 min drive to Pisa or Lucca catered for all tastes. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Roberta, Alfredo and family provide a very warm welcome, even doing some shopping for us as we were arriving late in the evening. Villa Maria Giulia is immaculate, extremely roomy and comfortable with bags of Tuscan style and character. The pool and grounds are also very pleasant and make for a very enjoyable stay. If you are looking for a large Tuscan villa with beautiful scenery located in a quiet village (except for the church bells!) then look no further as you have just found it. Many thanks to Roberta, Alfredo and Sonia for your kindness and understanding and thank you for a wonderful family holiday.
