About this house rental
This well-furnished and bright family Bach has great views across the lake with a spacious lounge area, four bedrooms and two outdoor dining areas. Great for a large family or two smaller ones this property is just minutes away from a quiet, sheltered spot on the lake or a short (6km) drive into Taupo town centre.
This is a great family sized home, ideal for two families and conveniently located in Acacia Bay. The house sits at the rear of a large section, perfect for backyard cricket or parking the cars, *boats and jet skis. This unique u shaped home is situated on one level and includes an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. There is an outdoor lake-facing balcony to enjoy the stunning views, as well as a sheltered patio located in between the rooms.
The kitchen has all the usual mod cons and there is a large family dining table and ample couches for everyone to watch the TV next to the gas fire. The bedrooms allow for the adults to have their own end of the house, with a bunk room for the kids to enjoy at the other end. Complete with a spacious family bathroom close to the bedrooms and an additional bathroom just off the kitchen.
The home has Three bedrooms offering various bedding configurations and two bathrooms.

The boat ramp is just a short drive away and there is a local dairy, restaurant and cafe back along Acacia Bay Road. Just along Marpara road, a short drive (or walk and earn that coffee!) to the renown L'Art Cafe and Gallery, a unique cafe and gallery that is set in a magical garden, complete with an outside mosaic living room.

This home has a steep driveway which may not be suitable for large boats.
There is no Wi-Fi or BBQ available.
The room with the 2 king single beds is a walk-through room between the living area and other bedrooms. The home is elevated and has steep external stairs for access which may not be suitable for everyone.
This is a classic Kiwi Bach as we know and love, it is a simple and affordable shared home with no frills, made for families to enjoy and make lasting memories of Great Lake Taupō. For this reason, there may be a level of personal belongings.
NOTE: Under Kiwi Bach tradition you are expected to: Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels) or use our hire service. If you wish to add the linen hire of $15 per person, please select this option when booking or let us know in the comments section.

All bookings are accepted on the basis that you have read, understand, and agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions and House Rules.
All bookings will be required to complete a check in form prior to arrival (excluding identity verified, Airbnb accounts) which will need to include a copy of your ID and the details of all guests intending to stay at the property. Failure to complete this form will result in the booking being cancelled.
Our office hours are 9.00am. – 5.00pm. (Monday - Friday). Closed public holidays. Messages and emails are not monitored outside of these hours, a duty manager is available outside of these hours for emergencies during your stay.
Guest Responsibilities:
If we are notified of parties or illegal activity you will be evicted and are liable for any damages to the property. We have a strict no party policy (large groups, hens, stags etc.) and do not allow functions or large gatherings.
The holiday home is not to be used as a function venue, events or activity that involve a larger number of people than stated on the maximum occupancy.
The guest named on the booking is responsible for the property for the duration of the stay and must take all reasonable care of the house. Respect for neighbours regarding noise and cars must be considered, we reserve the right to terminate the contract without refund if we receive complaints.
All guests are your responsibility so please take care and parental supervision is required for all children at all times, especially around stairs, balconies, water and fires. It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with any potential hazards and hazardous areas/situations.
All homes are privately owned, please treat them with respect and if an incident/damage happens, report it ASAP so it can be repaired or replaced. For damages be aware that your credit card will be charged for the repair or replacement plus a 10% handling fee.
All properties must be left reasonably clean and tidy, ensuring all furniture and appliances are returned to where they were on arrival. You will have paid a compulsory cleaning fee which covers a general service clean. If the property requires extra cleaning, you could be charged an additional $40.00 per hour for this.
If you use a BBQ it must be left clean, if not a $40.00 fee will be charged for cleaning.
ALL rubbish must be removed from throughout the property on your departure; failure to do this will result in a minimum charge of $40.00 for labour and council disposal fees. You may leave up to ONE bag of rubbish as part of the clean fee, specific property instructions will be at the home for you.
Ensure you only use the linen you have hired or brought with you on the beds, and refrain from sleeping between the mattress protector and duvet.
All holiday homes are strictly non-smoking. Smoking and vaping is permitted outside but please ensure you remove all butts and do not smoke near open doors or windows. If you do smoke inside there will be a charge of $150.00 to remove the odour.
We kindly ask that you do not cook food items that leave a strong and unpleasant odour in the home. If there is excessive cooking odour left upon your departure you will be charged $150 for professional odour removal.
Any properties that provide kayaks, bicycles, spa pools and/or swimming pools are to be used at your own risk. Taupo Realty Services accepts no responsibility for any injury or loss to any Guest or their belongings.
The property must be left secure and safe upon your departure. Please check all windows, doors and appliances including heaters, electric blankets, elements, and sockets before you leave the property.
Cancellations:
Please refer to the booking websites policies on cancellations.
All cancellations must be in writing/emailed, no phone cancellations accepted.
If you need to cancel a booking, please let us know as soon as possible so we may offer the property to others.
Any other amendments may incur an admin charge and are subject to availability, minimum stays and new tariffs for time booked.
No shows, early departures and cancellations received within 2 weeks of scheduled arrival will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
If, due to circumstances beyond our control, the property becomes unavailable or unfit for use, we will notify you as soon as possible and refund your money in full. The Property Owners retain the right to cancel bookings if necessary. In such cases, we will make every effort to offer you alternative accommodation, though we cannot guarantee availability or pricing.
If due to extenuating circumstances you need to cancel your booking because a New Zealand Government issued travel restriction is in place or your group are seriously ill and unable to travel you need to contact us via email as soon as possible, you can put your reservation on hold. All rebooked reservations are subject to availability, minimum stays and new tariffs for time booked.

Looked a bit run down from outside but comfy, warm & spacious inside. Had everything we needed, thank you. I did leave a jacket behind on bedroom door, guess it's gone now!

Quiet location with lovely lake views, and 10 mins to central city, with local shops only 1-2 mins drive away, wonderful spot.
House is set up well with a large lounge and dining area and fantastic deck, so great for socialising.

The bach was perfect for the five of us. There was plenty of space and although it was an older place it was homely and very comfortable. The view was great although we were out most of the time so didn't get a chance to enjoy the house and location more.
Having a lock box on site would have been helpful as we had to plan our travels to get to the Z station by 9.30pm. Also a more prominent number at the front would have helped locate the house better in the dark night. The hedge at the front needs a little trim as it was brushing the car. Altogether we loved the place and Thank you.

Great place to stay. Close to boat ramps and lake. Lovely lookout to lake while having a coffee on the deck. Wifi would be a bonus.

Very relaxed place to stay for all age groups. The bach worked well for all of us, nice and clean and everything you need was there. A great area also, lovely walks down by lake and easy boat ramp not far away. Fantastic communication to us all the way from Harcourts. Thank you.

Wonderful bach in Acacia Bay
We had such a lovely stay at this place - plenty of space for everyone, and a real homely feel.
The owners have also done a good job of mitigating the infamous Acacia Bay bug life, installing zapper lights to take care of them.
