About this apartment rental
Either you got a couple of days, a week or more with your family or friends this is an excellent choice, because its central location, the romantic atmosphere of an ancient building (1640), the high standards of provided services and the owner's 24/7 availability just in case.
There are few places in Rome that offer the zest, charm and charisma of Sant'Eustachio neighborhood. Via Monterone is a quite narrow street which is located in the lively epicentre of the capital, with packed-out cafes and restaurants never too far away, noteworthy for their diversity as well as their quality. Of course much of the typical atmosphere is down to the remarkably strong presence of boutiques, local shops together with well know International brands, making it a truly distinctive part of Rome, quite in the middle of the ancient Rome, at a walking distance from Pantheon, Coliseum, Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, Campo dei Fiori, Vatican Museum and many more sites.
Palazzo Nari is a 17th century historical and prestigious building, your easy way to get acquainted with Rome, living as an Italian. This is a fully renovated, 172 square meters (1,850 ft²), self catered, spacious and luxurious apartment, elegantly furnished, on the 3rd floor with lift, parquet floors, coffered ceilings, and everything you need to enjoy your stay. Ideal for families and groups.
Beds configuration is pretty flexible as the apartment offers 4 bedrooms: 1 quadruple, 1 triple, 1 double and 1 small single one bedroom for sleeping 10 people maximum. An extra 11th folding bed can be added upon request for a kid only, upon request 1 week before your check in since its transportation needs to be arranged.
In detail the apartment bedrooms include:
- master bedroom with its ensuite bathroom: one California size double bed (180x215cm) plus one or two single beds (80x200cm); as an alternative one California size double bed (180x215cm) plus a standard double bed (160x200cm).
- 2nd double bedroom: one double (180x200cm) or two single beds (90x200cm);
- 3rd tiny single bedroom with its ensuite bathroom: one single bed (90x200cm);
- 4th triple bedroom: one double bed (180x200cm) with or without a third single bed (80x200cm); as an alternative three single beds. Exceptionally we can add a forth bed here but it is recommended for kids only, because the walking space would result limited.
At your convenience, a few days before arrival, you will be welcome to communicate your beds' setting preference.
The four bedrooms are served by 3 bathrooms, which include 3 showers and 1 tub bath. Hot water is available in quantity and strong pressure, since a double system fed by a gas heater and 3 independent electric boilers is in place, to make sure that you never run out of hot water. A state of the art softening and filtering system reduces the high concentration of calcium carbonate in the water avoiding the risk of dandruff of your hair and skin irritation after a shower and sparkling clean dishes and spot-free glasses from the dishwasher and better washing of your clothes from the washing machines.
The living room offers a flat screen smart TV with Int'l cable channels and bluetooth music loud speaker and radio. The dining room may seat up to 10 people. The live in kitchen has high end appliances, such as an induction plate with four zones for your safe cooking, ice maker, Nespresso machine, coffee maker toaster, electric kettle, blender, etc.. The laundry includes a dishwasher, 2 washing machines and a dryer.
All Rooms have closets, air conditioning (from May to October) and fans, Wi-Fi is available throughout.
Three fire extinguishers, five smoke and one gas detectors are available in the apartment, the latter controlling a solenoid valve and automatically closing gas supply in case of need. A first aid kit is also available, plus plasters and antiseptic in one of the bathrooms drawer.
One or two babies under 2 are welcome! Baby cribs are available on request, together with a complete baby set, including plastic cutlery, cups, plates and bowels, sippy cup, 2 highchairs with safety belts and trays, baby bathtub and toys, baby potty chair and toilet seat, children stool, games and DVDs, safety corner bumpers, electric safety plugs and a big soft Goofy! The baby kit is available for kids upon request.
The owner is available for check in and out, while well trained housekeepers clean and sanitize the apartment before your arrival and maintenance specialists make sure that everything is perfectly running.
Bed linens and 3 towels per person are provided. Extra towels are also available in each bathroom.
The apartment is situated very close to Piazza Navona and the Pantheon (at only 2 minutes walking distance), Campo dei Fiori (5 minutes walking distance), with Colosseum, Fori Imperiali and the Vatican at 10 min only. In the area there are many shops and boutiques, and it is very well connected by public transports such as bus (hope on hope off bus), tram, small electric bus, metro and taxi stops.
A supermarket opens daily and it's only 2 minutes away on the same street of the apartment, where a post office is also available next door. Around the corner is a luggage depot and airport delivery. The best coffee found in town is just 2 minutes away at Sant' Eustachio, while within 10 minutes walking there is choice of trattorias, restaurants, bistros and ice cream parlors (gelateria). A few minutes away is a lounge bar and club and many pubs. The owner may assist you offering a transportation service at a competitive fare from the airports, railway stations or the Civitavecchia harbour upon request. The owner is available 24/7 in case of need. The area is extremely safe because it's 500 meters from the Parliament and patrolled 24/7 by police and carabinieri.
Regarding visits and touristic tours, the owner suggests planning them in advance to the most popular sites, such as S.Peter’ Church, Vatican Museum, Galleria Borghese, Coliseum, Foro Romano and Pantheon. You may either buy online tickets or even book an English speaking guide. In any case it is recommended online purchasing of what it's called “jump the line” tickets, in order to avoid long lines at the entrance, even 3-4 hours. In particular if you wish please plan in advance any visit to the Vatican Museum, Coliseum and Galleria Borghese, since these are extremely popular sites.
In addition you may also be interested looking at the website of the Roman National Museum which is the largest archaelogical museum complex in Rome and consists of four different museum locations: Palazzo Massimo, Palazzo Altemps, Diocleziano’s Baths, Crypta Balbi.
Furthermore get access to the web sites of Musei Capitolini, Centrale Montemartini, Mercati di Traiano, Museo dell’Ara Pacis, Museo di Roma, Galleria d’Arte Moderna, Museo di Roma in Trastevere, Musei di Villa Torlonia, Planetario and the Zoology Museum. Most of these sites offer audioguides and are at a walking distance from the apartment.
In the winter, a day ski trip can be organized upon request by bus or by car to Ovindoli, Campo Felice, Roccaraso, Monte Livata, Rivisondoli, Pescocostanzo or other locations. Day trips can also be arranged all year around to Florence (by train), to Pompei (train or car), to the sea side or to the lakes (by car).
Shopping rides by van sitting up to 8 people can be organized upon request. This may also include a personal shopping specialist upon request focusing on your wish list to be communicated in advance. The owner lived in this apartment as his parents and grand parents did many years ago. He knows very well the area and can assist any need you may have if it's communicated in advance.
My own favorite places around the corner are the following:

We had a wonderful stay at this property. Our host Max, not only book all our transportation from the airport and to the port, but also helped us reschedule when one of our party was affected by the crowdstrike fiasco.
The property itself is very centrally located and we were able to reach all the spots we wanted just walking.
It's and old building, but the property is restored beautifully and the beds were very comfortable. There is AC in all the bedrooms, living room and kitchen. We were traveling with a one year old, and the apartment had everything we needed for him to sleep, eat and be entertained for a few minutes. I would definitely come back if traveling with a large group to Rome again.

My family and I had a lovely stay. There are so many good things to say about this apartment; ideal location, unexpected amenities (i.e. coffee, wine, etc.), easy check in/check out process. In addition, the host was very responsive and even arranged for a driver to pick up my family at the airport. Highly recommend!

The place was perfect. Perfect location, walking distance to all points of interest for us and a market right around the corner for small things. Perfect place, spacious. Perfect host, Max and his team were gracious, along with setting up rides, recommendations, and being there to great us. This is a place we will come back on our next visit.

We have just returned from a ten day visit to Rome. Our apartment, beautifully maintained and perfectly situated on a quiet side street near the Pantheon, gave us a wonderful base of operations for the many sights to see. Our host Max was extremely welcoming, from the stocking of the kitchen to assistance with transfers to and from the airport. We would strongly recommend this property to anyone going to Rome. Although our party was entirely made up of adults, I think this would work very well for families with children as well.

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Massimo’s property for 4 nights in Rome. I can’t say enough good things about this place! The location was phenomenal- we walked everywhere from the Colosseum to the Vatican and even day tripped to Naples. The apartment was spacious enough for our family of four to spread out - having 3 bathrooms was a major win!!
The check in process was quick and easy- they even arranged a car for us from the airport to the apartment. The hosts were wonderful, responsive and thoughtful.
I highly recommend this property - especially if you are traveling with a bigger group.
I hope we will return again someday!

Just back from a short stay at this property. We were three couples and the apartment was perfect for what we wanted. Note the stairs - you have to be up for those - but as long as you are cool with that piece the rest of this place is great. It is an excellent location and the property and amenities are everything you'd want. Most importantly to me - these are people that greet you coming and going and make sure you are all set and enjoyed your stay. To me that is a real indicator of a host that is proud of their property and will stand behind it. Highly recommend!

Max went above and beyond. Not only is his house beautiful and comfortable, but he has thought of every detail to make guests feel welcome. There was a huge basket of fruit, cookies, candles, juice, soda, and more. The furniture is super comfortable and lovely, the location is literally a few blocks from the Pantheon and in the middle of a lovely neighborhood. 10 out of 10 stars!

This property is a 5 star/top notch! Clean, full of extras (shampoo, soaps, hair dryers, slippers, filled refrigerator with milk, water, soda, fruit), washer/dryer, lots of extras in the kitchen, Air conditioner units in each bedroom and living area. We couldn't think of 1 item that the owner needed or missed. Very clean. Very beautifully appointed. Location was perfect for our group. Thank you Max for a perfect holiday at your lovely property! We hope to be back!

Max is a wonderful person to work with. From beginning to check out. He always answers questions promptly.
Max met us at the door show us how everything worked and made us feel very welcome.
We were able to drop off our luggage early and walked around and have lunch. It is in a great location with plenty of sightseeing and places to eat.
When we returned the apartment was not only cleaned but stocked with a beautiful fresh fruit bowl. Coffee and some sweets for the morning.
I would stay there and any of his other rental properties.
Thanks for you hospitality Max.

If you’re considering booking this rental, do it! By far the absolute best rental experience we’ve ever had. Max is a phenomenal host and went above and beyond to help us in every way, even before we arrived. He sent us helpful info before our trip about the area and things to do, offered assistance with transport, tour bookings etc. The apartment was spotless clean and stocked with welcome basket of fruit, drinks, coffee, soap, paper products, everything you could need. Even little slippers in each bedroom! It was so nice to be able to just show up and relax after a long flight. It felt like a hotel experience in that way. The building is so beautiful and historic, but apartment is completely updated and has all modern amenities you could need while still maintaining the historic charm. Beds were comfortable too! The location is perfect- walkable to everything and right by a charming square with coffee, cafes, shops. Can’t say enough great things about this place and host- can’t wait to come back!!

Max (the host) greeted us when we arrived and provided everything we could need including a welcome basket of food and drinks. He even helped arranged our airport transfers.
The apartment was exactly as described. It was beautiful and comfortable. It even had toys available for my nephews. He provided travel books and maps. He also had charging stations in every room so you could always have your devices fully charged as you head out.
The apartment location was perfect. There is a mini grocery store down the block. There was so much to see just walking around the neighborhood. We are right by the Pantheon which was fun to visit during the day but also at night with the restaurants, fountain and entertainment (locals were singing in the square)!
I wish we could stayed longer in the apartment and Rome! Thank you Massimo!

I have never met a host as welcoming and accommodating. You must stay in this apartment. It is central to everything. The home amenities are above and beyond. You can tell the host is well traveled, as he has thought of anything that you as a traveler would want. I would tell anyone traveling to Rome they must reserve this unit. We had mutiple things we needed advice or help with, in our planning. Our host provided immediate assistance and made our trip memorable.

Our family had a great time staying at this apartment in the peak of the 2023 Heat Wave! Massimo is super responsive and had great suggestions for restaurants and navigating the city. I would recommend taking Massimo up on the offer of arranging a car from/to airport or train station, it makes everything much less stressful than pulling luggage through the city. There are grocery stores, restaurants steps away. Our family of eight fit comfortably in the space and it was nice to be close enough to come back midday to cool off. Thanks again for everything Max!

This property and the host were unbelievable. Massimo was the best hands-down. Super clean. Ice cold air conditioning during a MONSTER heat wave. EXCELLENT!!! 6 STARS!!

The flat was very comfortable for both our families. Everything we needed was at our finger tips. It’s a beautiful historic flat fully renovated with every convenience. The location is perfect as well. Our only regret is not staying longer in this amazing home.

Massimo (Max) is an outstanding host. He helped us with transportation both on arrival and departure. He created a very welcoming atmosphere when we first arrived and was readily available if we had any questions.
The suite is located just a short walk from the Pantheon and plenty of cafe’s. Almost any site that you would want to visit is an easy 15 minute walk or less.
The central location along with Max make this the best VRBO in Rome. We will definitely seek this home out when we return!

My family and I could not have asked for a better place to stay in Rome! I can write a long list but I will only list some of my important items. You really need to see this place in person...
- A FANTASTIC Host. Made transportation arrangements for pick up and drop off. Very friendly and caring.
- Elevator - A big help. After 10-15 miles of walking each day you probably don't want to claim stairs.
- 2 Washer and 1 dryer. A huge help for travel light.
- Centrally located. My kids and I woke up early took pictures of the Fountain & Pantheon when no other people visiting. Only 5 minutes walk. The best coffee shop in Rome is 2 minutes walk.
- Very comfortable beds.
- Dependable, fast and secured internet.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Max and his property! He was very communicative before the trip. He set up transportation for us from the airport, to the port and from the port back to the airport when our cruise returned. He sent so many suggestions of restaurants and things to do. The apartment was beautiful, very clean and filled with amenities!! Max was there to check us in and help us when we left! He made sure to have a place for our luggage on the day we checked out before we left for our cruise. The apartment is literally right next to the Panthéon and around fabulous restaurants and shops! I definitely recommend this property!!

Amazing home. This is the very best VBRO I have ever stayed. Max, the host made us feel like family. So responsive answering all my questions before the trip. He arranged drivers to pick us up from airport and during our entire stay. To welcome us Max had an amazing fruit tray, beer wine, cheese and snacks. The fridge was full. The place has an ice maker and this American loves her ice. Super comfy beds and the location is amazing. Literally a 3 min walk to the pantheon and several restaurants. The streets are cobble stone and are so cute. The building is from 1600’s. If you are blessed that Max has an opening, grab it. The memories of Max home with our family of 9 will last a lifetime.

This apartment was the perfect home away from home. It is centrally located and allows you to walk to almost everything Rome has to offer in under 30 min.
The apartment was large and spacious, thus allowing our large family ample room to relax after a long day out and about in Rome.
Our host, Max, was so on top of it! From booking the apartment, to answering questions, and needs that popped up during our stay… Max was friendly and on top of it!
I would HIGHLY recommend this place for your next Roman holiday.

This property checks all the boxes! We stayed here during a quick three day stop in Rome. The location is fantastic- literally in the middle of all the sites and restaurants. The apartment itself is clean, comfortable, and ranks among the best stocked properties we’ve ever rented. We could have easily stayed much longer than we did. Excellent communication- clear and professional. Max is a great host!

Our stay could not have been better. Max is an amazing host, and goes out of his way to be helpful and responsive. The apartment is lovely, with comfortable bedrooms and living areas and nice architectural details. The location is perfect...within walking distance of all the primary sights. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend this property.

We spent three days in the apartment in the end of January 23. The communication with the owner, Max, was fantastic from the beginning of the booking to the end of the journey. He organized the transfer from and to the airport on request and gave us a lot of helpful information about restaurants, bars and so on in the neighborhood. The apartment itself is located on the 3rd floor with an easy access to the elevator on the floor. It is very well maintained with everything you need for a short trip to Rome with a group of friends or a large family. We all felt like coming home all the days after exploring Rome day by day. If I could give more than five stars for the location, I would do so. Summary: Perfect.

We are so pleased we booked this property. The owner Max was brilliant to deal with. Very informative, giving us lots of information on places of interest and places to eat before we arrived. He organised our transport to and from the airport.
He met us at the property and talked us through how everything worked. There was a huge bowl of fruit and a fridge full of goodies which we thoroughly enjoyed. Very spacious property and ideal for our family party of 7.
The property is centrally located with all the major places of interest within walking distance. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. We can thoroughly recommend.

We arrived in Rome and were thoroughly impressed with Massimo's property. The ease of communication, the professionalism, and the convenience he provided to us set the tone for the rest of our trip. Everything from airport and train terminal transfers to restaurant recommendations and everything in between was fantastic. Amazing central location with easy walking access to a majority of central Rome's historic monuments and piazza's!
The apartment itself was stocked with coffee, water, all of the amenities and even a huge fruit basket and wine bottle that was all complimentary!
Would easily recommend to anyone looking for a great stay in Rome.

Communication was top notch from the beginning. Apartment was centrally located and fabulous. It was stocked with drinks, a huge bowl of fruit and snacks. Massimo, the owner greeted us and explained everything and answered all our questions. Layout was terrific for a 3 generation group of family members aged 11-76. Decor was carefully chosen and beautiful. Can’t say enough good things. Book this now!!!!

The flat has everything that we possibly need. Space is large to accomodate all of us (6). Max welcomed us with large basket of fruits, coffee, tea, snack, cookies, and items in the fridge including water, juice, milk, beers, soft drink. He really spoiled his guess. The location is excellent. We are still in Italy visiting Florence, Rome, and now in Positano. Max really put all other hosts we have to shame, they should take a course from him, :-).
