This property was exactly what my husband and I were hoping for! The view of the lough and the contrasting mountains was spectacular! We were visited by a few local goats and a sheep that appeared at the right moment to have her picture taken under one of many rainbows we experienced. We enjoyed everything about this cozy cottage. The host was kind and extremely accommodating! We hope to return in the future and are recommending this location to our friends. A stay we wil always treasure and never forget!

The house is huge and it has the spectacular view.
You don´t have direct neighbours so it is very calm.
The next villages are very nice so the whole landscape is.
We enjoyed our stay very much!

The house was very well equipped and more spacious than the photos showed. The view of the lake was wonderful and there were many places to visit within an hour's drive.

Great away from it all location with a lovely view of Lough Mask. Flew into Knock Airport and hired a car for the week. We climbed Patrick, walked around Cong, Galway, Killary Fjord, Westport and drove along the Wild Atlantic Highway. Hosts are always on hand and helped us plan our holiday. The House had everything we needed and more.

Just Incredible!
Family of 4 (“kids” are 17 & 19) - This home is amazing! Plenty of space for everyone, fully outfitted kitchen, breathtaking views/scenery from almost every window of the home, awesome soaking tub upstairs (a welcome luxury after climbing Croagh Patrick!), long quiet walks from the doorstep, adventure trips (hikes, fishing, archery, clay shooting) a short drive away, cozy fire in family room, outdoor table and chairs to enjoy morning coffee and evening sunsets over the surrounding mountains, quaint villages nearby (Cong, Clonbur, Westport), great Wi-Fi reception, washer and dryer, excellent water pressure, and plenty of HOT water - honestly, everything you could want or need! We stayed for 2 weeks and were sad to leave. It was our 6th summer vacation in Ireland - this was by far one of the best places we have stayed. There really are no words to describe it. After having been unable to travel for 2 summers due to COVID, we were thrilled to have found such an incredible place to welcome us back to Ireland and host the creation of some amazing memories together.

Fabulous house in idyllic setting
Highly recommend this house for anyone looking for some relaxation. It is a wonderful house with loads of space for two families with kids. We spent our days out on the deck enjoying the view and exploring the beautiful local area. The house is so well set up with a playroom with toys, books, cot,.cot rails, stair gates etc which made traveling with young kids so easy. We had a lucky heatwave and spent many evenings out with the BBQ and stunning view. A car is essential but local towns had all the supplies we needed. The hosts we're great to deal with and had helpful local recommendations too.

Fabulous House
We were 4 ladies needing a break away after all the covid restrictions.
The house was just perfect for us 4 large bedrooms and a very spacious spotlessly clean house.
Not to mention the magnificent view of the lake. It would be heaven if we had had decent weather. But we still made the most of our break away.
Would return again.

Post lockdown getaway
We spent a great week at Kilbride Point with the kids. The setting is stunning - we particularly enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the evening looking out over the lake as it was so peaceful. The kids loved having so much space and when it rained there was always the little pool table to keep them amused. It is very secluded but we found that it was exactly what we needed to get away from the city having been cooped up so long during the lockdown. It was definitely the nicest house we have stayed in - for the setting, the cleanliness and the space. We did not meet Siobhan and Des due to the restrictions but they left us comprehensive instructions including the additional steps they had taken to ensure the house was sanitised prior to our arrival which was really reassuring. We could not recommend the house and the location highly enough.

Spectacular!
If visiting the Wild Atlantic Way, you'll want to stay at Siobhan and Des's in Mayo. The house is lovely, well appointed, and easily accommodates six with ease. The landscape is breathtaking. You'll see anglers, mountains, and sheep on your way to and fro the house. My friends and I enjoyed our week very much.

Sheer perfection.
As a Belgian family, looking for a visit to the western part of Ireland; as a family of five, looking for a peaceful holiday with an own choice of activities, visits or just resting, Kilbride Point is close to perfection. If we do have to be critical (which we are not), the only minus things we could think of were the kitchen utensils which did not earn the standard 'perfection' and the wifi, which was not perfect either. But to have no misunderstandings: they were not perfect, but still satisfying enough for our needs (they only both could be 'more').
Thanks to Siobhan and Des Summerville for providing this Belgian family a perfect holiday!

Family holiday
Our stay was an absolute delight. Could not fault a thing.
The property location was fabulous and had the most amazing views.
Our hosts were so helpful and left us a lovely and delicious welcome pack.
We had some lovely days out locally and there is so much to do. The house was great and the photos do not do it justice as it is so beautiful.
We definately will be coming back.
Thank you Siobhan and Des.

Cozy home with a gorgeous view!
If you like being tucked away, but still want a short lovely drive into town, this is the place...and being on the water is a bonus! The home was clean and had everything we needed plus great extras, like the bathtub, washer/dryer and fireplace with wood provided. It would work great for vacationing couples or families...highly recommend!

Fabulous house, wonderful scenery - PERFECT!
Our recent stay comprised 6 adults and 2 children.
House was PERFECT, everything you need on hand - a proper home from home. Communication from Siobhan prior to and on arrival was excellent.
The house was spotless, and we quickly settled in. There is enough storage space for clothes etc, the bathrooms are well appointed, and there were plenty of supplies of loo roll/washing up liquid etc. Siobhan also left us a welcome hamper which was appreciated. The kids had a brilliant time with the pool table inside the house and on the outdoor swings.
We didn't use the BBQ, but we spent many happy hours in the evenings with a glass of wine at the outdoor seating space.
The nearby town of Clonbur has a well stocked shop for all the essentials and the pub Burkes serves great food if you don't fancy cooking.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property for anyone wanting to spend time in this beautiful area. We will certainly be back.

Fantastic!
Kilbride Point met our expectations and then some. Beautiful, comfortable, well equipped, plenty of room for 6 adults, privacy, and a wonderful view of Lough Mask. The fishing could have been better but my husband Tom blames the sun for that!

Simply Stunning
One of the finest rental properties we have ever stayed in. Spotlessly clean from top to bottom, plenty of space inside and out. Amazing views. Lawns and play area were in excellent condition and very well kept. Coffee, milk etc. left out for us on our arrival. I can't find a flaw with this property. Looking forward to going back next year. Thanks Siobhan & Des.

Beautiful & Serene Location - Perfect for a family stay!
We had a wonderful time at the house - the location was spectacular and the views were breathtaking! The house itself, is the the cleanest holiday home we have every stayed in - everything was pristine and true to the pictures. There were plenty of children's toys to keep our boys occupied during the rainy weather. Even with the rain, the views of the lake were stunning! We look forward to coming back again :)

Excellently fitted house in a stunning location
This is one of the best houses we've had in the many years we've been coming to Ireland as a group. The house is beautiful, has generously proportioned rooms and is in very good condition: furniture, fittings and fixtures all virtually pristine. The kitchen is well equipped with sufficient pots, pans, glassware and crockery for 6 people, as well as all the tools you could wish for, including oven gloves. Nice touch: Not only were cleaning agents and cloths of all types supplied, including dishwasher and washing machine tabs, Siobhan also left a welcome basket, with tea, milk and other necessities - like biscuits! - to start us off. There was also plenty of toilet paper, gas in the grill, and wood for the stove. The house is located at the end of a secluded drive with a spectacular view over Lough Mask, and is only a 10-min drive from Clonbur, which has a well supplied grocery store and 2 pubs with good food, both with music sessions. There are larger grocery stores about 20 mins drive away. The location is excellent for exploring Galway (ca. 1 hr to the city), Mayo and the wilds of Connemara, with lots of superb walking and fabulous vistas across mountains and lakes. We were lucky enough to get walking tips from neighbours doing some farm work next door and had 2 excellent long walks using the OS map Siobhan also kindly supplied. The big stack of brochures in the hallway with info about restaurants, excursions and sightseeing options was very useful, as was her folder with machine operation instructions, local restaurants and shops, etc. We were close enough to climb Croagh Patrick (challenging steep climb) had we wanted to, but the cloud cover was too unreliable when we were there. We had no rain all week, although it was October, and the changing skyscape over the lake was always a joy to watch morning and evening with a cuppa while sitting on Siobhan's lovely deck. There are play areas inside the house and in the garden for kids, with lots of toys supplied. This house would be good for couples looking for a secluded getaway, or a family with children who like walking, as well as for a group of friends like us who like to sightsee, walk and cook. Our one regret was that we never got to meet Siobhan in person, but phoned and texted her several times. She was an assiduous host even across the "ether", making sure we had all we needed, and made a very friendly and helpful impression. A fantastic experience all round!

Peaceful retreat from the hustle & bustle
Our second visit to Kilbride Point and it won't be our last. The property is clean, comfortable and easy to live in for two weeks. Siobhan & Des couldn't have been more helpful hosts.
Even though the weather wasn't 100% on our side we still managed to get out and about and indulge in our passion for photography and eating in cosy tea rooms and cafes.
We ate out most evenings in Clonbur prefering Eddies Bar, some nights we picked up a 'ready meal' from the deli in Cong, not only was that great food but you were treated to the great Irish banter from the proprioter and his wife. Everyone is so friendly in the area and always more than happy to pass the time of day.
We like hoildays when you can just get to your destination and thats it your hoilday starts and we have found this in Kilbride Point and surrounding area.
