Quatre Vents is a perfect destination for a relaxing summer break with incredible views, spacious accommodations, a lovely pool, outdoor amenities like a pizza oven, and plenty of activities nearby.

So much room to spread out, both inside and outside this manoir, lofty ceilings, huge fireplaces, history abounds at Quatre Vents. The pool is magnificent and clean, the bar and pizza oven are great fun and perfect for entertaining on the long hot evenings in this part of the world, fresh figs from the garden etc… Thank you for a perfect stay.

What a wonderful place to stay! The view and especially the sunsets were incredible every day. Pizza oven (with great hints and tips from Steve) was fab. Swimming every day was such a bonus. Honestly, we didn’t really need to venture out to enjoy ourselves. However, can highly recommend the local night markets over the summer, delicious chocolate in Nérac and lovely beach in Aiguillion. Highly recommend!

We had a fabulous family break at this property. The location and views are truly stunning I don’t think any photo I took did it justice. We spent many hours in the pool and by the pool bar during the day and enjoyed evening bbqs watching the sunset.
Had a lovely visit to night market in Nerac which I recommend.
You will need a car but we drove to France so wasn’t an issue for us.
The house is full of rustic charm, which we loved, and was plenty of space for multiple families to enjoy.
My only slight feedback would be a little more kitchen cupboard space would be beneficial to store food but not a deal breaker as a lot of fridge space is available. Some of the loungers by pool were out of action but we went at end of summer and we all had more then enough places to sit and lay so didn’t impact us.
Pool was cleaned regularly and the check in process was seamless. Big supermarket 5 mins drive.
A great time had by all (ages ranges from 5, teenagers to 50+). I am very much missing the views, sun and pool. Thank you also for answering all my multiple questions pre visit!

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Quatre Vents accommodation and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. While the vacation home boasted a spacious layout, the overall condition of the property was quite disappointing.
One of the major letdowns were the unclean beds and living spaces. It was evident that proper cleaning had not taken place, and the overall tidiness was lacking. Moreover, the state of the furniture and household appliances was equally disheartening – many were not only dirty but also in a state of disrepair.
On a positive note, I cannot deny the beauty of the location and the captivating views that Quatre Vents offered. The scenic surroundings and picturesque vistas certainly added a redeeming quality to the stay.
However, considering the various issues with cleanliness and maintenance, I must say that the price-to-quality ratio fell far short of expectations. The experience did not justify the cost, and I found myself disappointed with the overall value.
Taking all these factors into consideration, I regretfully cannot recommend this accommodation to fellow travelers. It's clear that improvements in maintenance and cleanliness are necessary to truly provide a pleasant stay for guests.

Quatre vents is one of the most wonderful places I have ever stayed. Peaceful, beautiful, well set-up, well looked after. Absolutely everything you could ever want.

Quatre Vents is a perfect destination for an idyllic summer break I couldn’t recommend it more highly.
We arrived as a spectacular sunset was in full swing and that was repeated on most nights. The house is high on a hill, it’s difficult to convey the extent of the panoramic views from the house and both terraces! When sitting by the pool you take it all in and that makes a perfect setting for relaxed summer living. We could have happily relaxed by the pool all holiday. In the afternoons we enjoyed BBQ’s and pizza nights at the bar by the pool which was wonderful.
The house itself was comfortable and spacious with good showers, a bath and comfortable beds. We enjoyed having outside tables on two terraces for meals to choose to be in the sun or shade at different times of day. The conservatory was useful with a table we ate at and played cards and other games. There was also table tennis and table football all well used by our family!
We didn’t manage all the outings we had planned, there is plenty to do in the region.
On our way we went to the Dune du Pilat near Bordeaux which is a stunning coastal area, a beach with a huge sand dune. we kayaked on the river Lot. We also hired bikes including a tandem and rode along the canal tow path, a beautiful setting shaded by an avenue of poplar trees. There are plenty of very ancient villages to stop at and enjoy. We shopped at several of the farmers’ markets and ate fresh fruit and veg. Steve is a responsive friendly host.

Amazing family holiday in the most beautiful location
The views from the property are absolutely amazing; for us, this was the best thing about our stay.
The house is lovely and there was plenty of room for our family of 15 (10 adults, 3 children and 2 babies). Due to the size of the property there were some areas that were not as clean as they could have been (dust, cobwebs etc.) but generally it was fine and the main things were perfectly clean (beds and bathrooms).
On the listing it documented a cot being in the main king size bedroom and for this reason we did not ask for one. When we got to the property there was none to be found and therefore we had a long night trying to get our 1 year old off to sleep in his buggy. However, the next day the lovely cleaners came over and got a travel cot from the garage for us, which was very much appreciated as they do not live close by. It worked out fine in the end but the listing should probably make it clearer that you need to request cots.
We loved the pizza oven, the pool and the quiet location but not so much the mosquitos and wasps (no fault of the owner just down to the hilltop location- only mentioning so others are aware the bring lots of bug spray and bite cream!) All in all we had an amazing week and would definitely recommend to large families wanting some down time together and we would certainly return in future!

Could have been the perfect holiday spot...
A charming old house with plenty of room inside and outside, on a perfect location, with breathtaking views : what more could one want ? Sleep ! The lowest bed rooms can not be used because they are much too humid. Some walls are wet and the beds are humid. After one week with all windows open en fans blowing air in, it was still wet. Luckily we were only eight adults and could arrange for everyone to sleep on the ground floor. All bedrooms have broken or missing mosquito screens, so it was difficult to open windows at night. Nevertheless we enjoyed the house and the environment very much. This location is hard to find !

Amazing property, amazing views!
You'll not be disappointed with a holiday staying at this property.
The farmhouse is very comfortable and has all the facilities you would need. It is beautifully situated at the end of a lane with spectacular views out over the valley. We enjoyed the lovely pool and even got to grips with the outdoor pizza oven.
The local town has a great patisserie and there are many local markets with great produce.
In summary, we had a lovely relaxing break and came back very refreshed.

Most relaxing stay in a stunning place!
We enjoyed a wonderful holiday as a group of 4 adults and 4 children (mix of 3 families). The house has got several bed- and bathrooms, a big entrance hall with several sofas, a big kitchen incl. dishwasher, microwave and washing machine.
Whats more there is a vast dining room with big windows which allow a superb view. There is tabletennis aswell as tablefootball. Outside there is a swimming pool, loungers, bar with pizza oven, tables around the house so one can choose sun or shade at any time of the day. The view is fantastic, (wide open space, sunsets, stars etc.), its a wonderful quiet place which offers a lot to relax, have fun and explore, very close in nature or within not too long driving distances to beautiful towns like Bordeaux. I can recommend this place wholeheartedly and I am looking forward to my next stay at the Hilltop Manor in Lagarrigue.

The house wasn't very clean, but the location and the outdoors were great! Still I recommend the owner to give some more information about the arrival: we had to search the key etc. It's a perfect place to go to with a group of friends! I would recommend a car.

Superb holiday in fantastic spacious Manor home
I would highly recommend this property as the perfect place to enjoy some relaxing time together with friends or family. Suitable for all ages there is plenty to keep everyone happy. The pool is amazing with unbeatable views and sun loungers for everyone. If you should ever get bored of the pool, there is also the games room. Eating outside is a joy especially if using the pizza oven and enjoying a drink at the bar. The kitchen is spacious and has everything you could need.
The property was clean and well-maintained. It was obvious that the owners take pride in keeping their beautiful home in perfect condition for others to enjoy.
As a family we particularly enjoyed cycling along a nearby canal on hired bicycles and tackling the inflatables at the aqua park. I would definitely return to Quatre Vents - hopefully soon!

Fantastic and more, wonderful week
The views are to die for, especially watching the sunset with a drink by the bar. We loved using and experimenting with the pizza oven.
The house is very spacious, lots of sofas, large kitchen, and even larger dining room, used to be a restaurant we think.
The extensive gardens and pool were tidy and well kept as was the house.
Couldn't fault, lots of local towns to visit and attractions for all ages.
Will definitely come again

Pretty poor condition on arrival
A downstairs toilet was leaking - someone had tried to tie the valve with a plastic bag in an attempt to stop it dripping all night. The pool BBQ bar floor was covered in water. Someone had unplugged the fridge / freezer in the pool bar without removing two bags of ice which subsequently thawed and covered the area with water - and the plug for the fridge had just been left in the water, rendering it unsafe. The pool had not been cleaned recently and was covered in bugs and insects and the pool cover reel mechanism was broken and couldn't be used. The BBQ grill was filthy and a bag of previous residents' charcoal ashes were left underneath the BBQ. And the games room was a collection of dust, spider webs, insects and riiped net curtain - didn't appear to have been cleaned for months. We spent the first two hours trying to clean the place and resolve the pool bar floor problem. We contacted the owner who sent someone out on the second day and the problem toilet was fixed as well as the pool cover, plus two new mosquito nets were fitted - sadly some other nets that were already fitted were faulty and did not remain in the down position so were pretty useless. A fuse box in the pool area did not have any cover on it so was open to a potential hazard for visitors. Overall a disappointing start to the holiday and we were constantly reminded that the place was not particularly well prepared for our holiday when we found yet more dust, cobwebs and insects around. The house is lovely and has lots of character and is set in a most wonderful location. It just lacks the care and attention that should be a given especially when you consider the price we paid. It didn't ruin our holiday but was a disappointment to us.

Beautiful house and grounds
The house, grounds, views and pool were lovely and provided a peaceful relaxing stay. We made good use of the pool and BBQ. We enjoyed visiting the local markets, towns and villages. The house is very well equipped with comfortable beds and furniture and a large kitchen. it is also pleasantly cool when the temperature outside is on the rise. We would recommend the property to anyone wanting a special family holiday.

A superb property
Les Quatres Vent is a wonderful place to stay, fitted out to a high specification and very comfortable. The location is picturesque, and convenient for exploring the surrounding region. Contact with the owners was prompt and courteous.

Great long-weekend break in a wonderful setting
A charming, traditional manor house with great history back to the 13th century.
Wonderful views out over the valley in the day and up to the Milky Way at night.
Plenty of common rooms inside for the kids to play and adults to relax with thick walls to keep cool on a hot day.
All the amenities worked and we had great fun in the local markets filling the larder.
Many a drink at the pool-bar watching the sunset.
All well arranged

A lovely house and pool in a beautiful location
We had a lovely week staying at this house. The location is very peaceful and the views from outside over the surrounding countryside are magnificent. We loved sitting outside watching the sun go down with drinks in hand. The house is very spacious with plenty of room and high ceilings in the main living rooms. The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed being able to cook with all the wonderful French produce from local markets and shops. There's also a barbecue and pizza oven to try out.
The pool is a good size and the children spent many hours playing in it while the adults sat at the bar overlooking the pool. Just remember to switch off the child alarm in the pool before they jump in.
There are good local shops and a hypermarket a little further away. Fun local activities include cycling along the canal and visiting the night markets where everyone buys local food and sits down together to eat it. The house sits in substantial grounds for the children to explore and play in.
The house would be perfect for a big house party or multiple families with the accommodation spread out so we don't get in each others way.

Wonderful rustic house
We visited here for my 30th birthday, a group of 14 family and friends, we had an incredible experience. The house is fully kitted out with everything you need, we did not leave the property for 4 days. The weather was not amazing however there was plenty of fun games and activities to do in the house.
The house itself is filled with little hide-aways annexes, beautifully decorated.
There is a large local supermarket in the little town, where we stocked up on everything, the wine is so cheap.
I recommend renting a car.
We will definitely be staying again!
Thanks,
Rachel

Stunning house and location with panoramic views.
The house surpassed its description. Having stayed in several French houses over the years, this one is undoubtably the best. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bedrooms are comfortable and spacious. The games room is a real bonus.
There were 9 of us aged from 8 to 73 and the swimming pool, BBQ and pizza oven provided entertainment for us all on long sunny days. We were able to sit out most evenings enjoying a meal and playing boule or card games whilst watching spectacular sunsets.
The close proximity of the local Bastides gave us opportunities to explore the beautiful and unspoilt area without having to drive too far.
There is a good choice of restaurants, shops and markets in nearby small towns and villages.

Something for every age and inclination
The setting is spectacular, both by day and night, though you need satnav plus a bit of lateral thinking to find it! (Even if you have satnav, take Michelin regional map 524 (Aquitaine) – useful for local, not always clearly-signed, journeys.) The huge house is beautifully-restored, clean and well-appointed, not least the kitchen, with many thoughtful touches, often not found elsewhere, throughout. The beds (and probably the cot too) are comfortable, and most rooms have decent storage space, with plenty of hangers. The four possible dining areas, and a couple of separate bedrooms offering a degree of privacy, are great for mixed groups. The grounds, and the pool, are carefully maintained, and were enjoyed by all (though a small shallow area for toddlers would be a bonus).
Although May was a good month to visit – the sun beamed brightly for all but two of our days – we were (just) 'out of season'. This has pros and cons: towns and villages are eerily quiet, but parking is easy, even on market days. However, tourist attractions tend to be shut, or with limited opening, not always made clear on their websites (e.g. Henri IV castle in Villeneuve-sur-Lot); and ditto restaurants. Even in season closures can be erratic. For example, 'Le Vigneron' in Buzet-sur-Baïse, which we'd highly recommend for style and value – even if oysters, rabbit and wonderful local prunes with rice pud are not to your taste – is closed, not on Mondays (as one might expect) but on Tuesdays; one of the boulangeries in Aiguillon is closed on Wednesdays; and where do you put non-recyclable rubbish between Wednesdays and your departure on Saturday? However, although Aiguillon Intermarché is closed on Sundays, several supermarkets in other towns are open in the morning.
We give if four rather than the full five stars solely because we were unable to resolve difficulties connecting to Wifi. In all other respects, we found it faultless; none of the negative comments in a previous review applied at all.

Wonderful family holiday rental
Lovely location with great views. Very comfortable for large family with ample space to dine together inside or out. Pool well cared for. Kitchen well equipped. Our children and grandchildren loved it with plenty to do in the area for kids and adults. Directions to get there could be clearer. Otherwise perfect holiday.

Hugely disappointing experience
I stayed 6 nights in August ‘16. It was hugely disappointing due to the owner’s handling of the booking and the dire state of the villa.
I made a 7-night booking in January ’16. The owner confirmed the dates and duration in writing.
Just 12 days before my trip and after I’d paid the full rent/deposit, he informed me he had double-booked part of my stay. He offered to put me up in a local B&B that was much cheaper than his own property. I didn’t accept because I booked the villa to have privacy, space and a private pool.
I pointed out that Owners Direct explicitly forbids double-booking and that waiting to the last minute to tell me was unethical. I asked to cancel the full booking. He refused.
Only after I threatened legal action and started a formal complaint with Owners Direct did he offer a reasonable settlement. I had no choice but to accept and stay fewer nights; it was too late for anything else.
The villa itself was horrible. Although the location is beautiful and the pictures make it look great, it’s not.
To start, it’s filthy and in disrepair:
- Cobwebs and dead bugs were all over: cobwebs on furniture, around windows, in the bedrooms, on the curtains; dead flies on window sills and floors.
- Walls were marked with blood of insects killed by previous inhabitants.
- There were dirty dishes in the cupboards and old coffee grinds in the coffee maker.
- The outside tables were filthy: one had food remains, greasy hand prints and oil smudges; the other had layers of tree droppings.
- Curtain rods were literally falling off walls.
- One bathroom had a broken shower head bracket.
Beyond being filthy, the villa disappoints for other reasons:
- There’s only one window in the whole place with a screen. If it’s hot outside, you have two choices at night: open the windows and sleep with a room full of bugs and mosquitoes or close them and suffocate. It was truly hot and miserable inside at night.
- The pool is not heated and has very cold water.
We reported problems to the owner during our stay. He offered no compensation despite our having had to clean the place to make it habitable.
After the rental, the owner didn’t return the deposit when promised. I had to chase.
I have stayed at lots of villas and understand that problems can happen. But this experience was beyond the pale and completely ruined our holiday.

Gorgeous
Lovely property, plenty of space inside and out, fine views, wildlife, local town with market, sunshine, pool and pizza oven. What more could a family holiday want?! We had a great time and hope to return. The owners were very helpful and clearly love the property also.
Time it right and there is a bounty of fresh pickings to be had from the expansive grounds – we had figs, blackberries and grapes. We left some for the next visitors though – enjoy!

Could not want for more!
I have just come back from a two week holiday at ‘Quatre Vents’ (Lagarrigue) with my family and our friends and everybody thoroughly enjoyed their stay in this fabulously rustic house.
The bedrooms were spacious and Steve (the owner) was able to ensure they were arranged to cater for our specific numbers. The rooms throughout are in keeping with the rustic feel of the house and were undeniably clean; and as well as enough pots, pans, crockery and cutlery to keep Gordon Ramsay happy, the kitchen had every conceivable appliance and utensil for all our self-catering needs.
The property is set in wonderful grounds with fantastic views, and despite our numbers, it was large enough to offer our two families space and privacy when required.
The pool was fantastic and enjoyed by both adults and children alike, and the pizza oven, barbecue and outdoor bar were all put to good use during our stay.
There is satellite television and indoor games galore to amuse guests, but thankfully the weather was so good during our stay that only the ‘boules’ got any real use.
The Thursday night market in Aiguillon was a great place to meet ‘the locals’ who are extremely friendly, and as well as the principal city of Agen there are any number of beautiful villages close by which are well worth a visit.
We particularly loved Buzet, Nerac, Pusjol, Poudenas and Duras, and a special mention has to be given to Lac Clarens near Casteljaloux which offers a number of brilliant activities for all the family.
‘Quatre Vents’ is a wonderful base to discover Lot et Garonne, but equally, you will have a wonderful time there if you never leave the grounds.
