With Skjern Enge and the Skjern Å valley nearby, you can explore the area on foot, by bike, canoe or even on horseback. You can cross the river Skjern Å via two majestic suspension bridges or one of the two cable ferries, which are still operated as they were in the Middle Ages. The nearest town is Lønborg, Skjern is about 10 kilometres from Lønbogaard. Billund airport is only 55 km away.
History of the farm
The history of the farm dates back to the 15th century, when it belonged to the diocese of Ribe under the name Lønborg Bispegaard (Bishop's Farm). It was owned by the king until 1650. Lønborggaard was an important manor house in West Jutland due to its enormous land holdings. The state has owned the estate since 1994 and a large area is part of the Skjern Å nature project.
The renovation of the 100 metre long wings of the manor was completed in 2007.
One of the main attractions at Lønborggaard is a tropical paradise with a large pool and a children's pool. Here you can really get away from the stress of everyday life with games, peace and well-being.
The modernisation of the historic buildings has been carried out so professionally that all bedrooms have a private door to the enormous terrace. From here you have a view of the Skjern Å river valley. On this estate you live in the middle of nature, but you don't have to do without any luxury or modern comforts.
For communal living, there is a 100 m² lounge with floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows.
Please note that: Consumption costs are not included in the room rate and will be charged according to guest use within three weeks after check-out. Up to two pets are allowed.
