About this villa rental
Villa Clara is a beautiful and private Provençal-style, self-contained holiday home located in the charming medieval village of St Jeannet. Villa Clara is only 16km from Nice airport. Only a 2 minute walk to the village to French bakeries, butcher, grocer, restaurants and bars. Italy is an easy 1 hour drive away. You will be greeted by our wonderful manager Teresa who speaks fluent English and given a personal tour of the villa. Enjoy wonderful coastal views, terrace dining with wood fired pizza oven, swim in the private pool. The location gives you all that the busy Cote D'Azur has to offer combined with the get away from it all retreat that Provence is famous for. A car may not be necessary as there is a 30 minute bus service to train stations and the famous CAP 3000 shopping complex. The local taxi service can pick you up from the airport and take you to the house . We have furnished the villa with everything you have at home to make it a true home.
It is ideal for a family holiday, or as place to be enjoyed with friends. The villa and stand-alone studio can comfortably accommodate a group of six adults and 2 children in total privacy. You can simply relax at Villa Clara and explore Provence and the Côte d’Azur. Italy too is within easy reach – the Italian border is only a one-hour drive away. Travel along the coast to explore the bustle of Cannes, historic Antibes or take a short trip along the Riviera to Monaco.
The large lounge is beautifully decorated in Provençale style and features exposed oak beams. Comfortable sofas, chairs and great ambiance create the perfect place to relax in front of the large fireplace. For entertainment there is a 47 ' flat screen television . There is also English Sky TV and a DVD recorder along with plenty of books and family games. If you love to cook, you’ll love Villa Clara’s kitchen. It has everything you need. Along with all the utensils, there are gas hobs and an electric oven, a microwave oven, large refrigerator/freezer, espresso machine, toaster, electric jug/kettle and a dishwasher. In the center is an eight-seat Provençale table. The kitchen is supplied with crockery, glasses and cups (along with plenty of wineglasses, of course) for eight people.
Although Villa Clara is designed for relaxation, it’s good to know that, if you really need to catch up on work, you can. A printer, scanner and photocopier are available, as well as wireless high speed unlimited Internet if you travel with a laptop. Villa Clara is equipped with a washing machine and a drier. The laundry also has lots of storage space – ideal for storing your suitcases. Villa Clara has a delightful studio on its grounds. This is a self contained building situated just ten meters from the main Villa. Inside is a kitchenette with two electric cooking hobs, an electric jug/kettle and a fridge. The cottage has its own separate shower and toilet too, along with a 30 " television set. If no-one in your party is using the cottage, why not simply enjoy it as a fantastic summer house – a great place to take it easy on those long, hot Mediterranean summer days.

The Villa is located at the far end of the wonderful (but quite narrow-laned) village of St- Jeannet. The village offers small shops, a bakery and a butcher’s shop as well as a pasta place and restaurants.
The house has plenty of space and the best equipped. Kitchen we have ever vacationed in. Beds were super comfy. Teenagers had their own little pool house.. the kitchen is adjoined by a great terrace overlooking the coast from Nice to Antibes.
We were a little unlucky at the start with a big cloud hanging over the Bayou while the coastline had wonderful sunshine, but we made the best of it. The house features a bbq and pizza oven as well as huge inside fire place ( wood must be purchased at the shops).
When the sun is out you can enjoy the wonderful pool (and listen to the frogs at night).
Owners gave very detailed directions as to the itinerary to the house and the house keeper was also available.
We were a little surprised that when booking we had to pay for insurance on top of the rate for the house, which is quite unusual in the EU.
Overall, a great vacation. Would love to come back!

A gorgeous property set high in the hills in a charming village. Lots of fantastic places to visit, both inland and at the coast. The property is located in such a beautiful position though, you probable won't want to leave the villa!

We had a fantastic time. The girls were rarely out of the pool and the house had everything you could ask for, including a good supply of the basics eg. oil, salt sugar etc that can be annoying to have to buy on holiday. Good directions to property provided but be warned - the streets through the town are very narrow!

Our family of 5 spent two weeks in Villa Clara in July 2019 and had a great time. The villa is just as described; spacious, clean and well equipped. We particularly loved the terrace, the magnificient views and the swimming pool as well as the close proximity to the lovely village of Saint-Jeannet. Would definitely recommend and we all hope to come and stay here again some time in the future.

Villa Clara if you only accept the best
We’re a family of 3 generations, grandchild almost 4. Could not have had a better relaxing week. The Villa Clara is excellent and Saint Jeannet is the most charming french village. We know the area very well and also Saint Jeannet. So we spent the entire week in the villa. Used the pool very very much. Used the outdoor barbeque every day.
Don’t hesitate, book this villa.

Exceeded our expectations
Just landed from a 10 day trip with two kids (ages 5 and 7) and four adults. The pictures just don’t do the place justice! Everything about the space and the village were beyond perfect for us. The place was equipped with everything that we needed, the town was just steps away, and the walk up the baou was a huge highlight. Anna was a wonderful host and went to great lengths to accommodate us and answer all our questions. Brigitte, the manager was also wonderful and very kind. We enjoyed day trips around the area, walking around the village is St Jeannet, and just sitting in the deck and taking it all in! We will never forget this absolutely wonderful vacation!

Excellent stay close to the French riviera!
This is such a beautiful villa! We were two Swedish families that stayed for a week and just loved it! We were all together 8 people in the house, with 4 young adults (16 to 21 years). The Villa is situated perfectly outside the village Saint Jeannet where we could find a bakery, a butcher and some nice restaurants. The view from the Villa is stunning and there´s a nice terrace where we would eat breakfast and at times also lunch and dinner. The pool was very clean and a nice size for everyone to go swimming. The house is well equipped with everything you need for cooking, barbecue and even wine if you want to buy some! The owners Anna and Bryan were very friendly contacting us by email, making sure that everything was okay. They had also prepared a welcomming-kit with things you need when you arrive. Thank you Anna and Bryan for the beautiful flowers and the wine as we arrived! We loved our stay at Villa Clara and would definitely love to come back!

A little piece of PARADISE
We stayed at Villa Clara for a very special family holiday and had the most wonderful week. Everything was perfect starting from the very first reply from Anna & Bryan the owners to our last farewell with Brigitte, the lovely lady who welcomed us and made sure we had everything we needed. Villa Clara is a large, spacious, well presented home. It is peaceful with fantastic views. We spent most of our time outside as the weather was perfect. The village of St Jeannett is quaint and quirky with its narrow streets and offers a bakers for fresh croissant's and bread each day and a wonderful butchers with many delicasies to choose from. We had a car but there is a bus service. If you want to visit the beautiful nearby towns you would be better with a car. This is a perfect place for walkers or if you want to just relax by the pool.
We can't wait to return to Villa Clara and I know if you choose to stay here you will not be disappointed.

A memorable week with friends in France
Villa Clara stands in a fabulous location in the beautiful village of Saint Jeannet. The village with its fine choice of shops and restaurants stands on the hillside above the Mediterranean coast and needless to say the aspect from the villa is simply world-class.
Accommodation at Villa Clara is wonderful with bright and substantial living rooms, a well equipped kitchen, idyllic swimming pool and, once again, that world-class view.
We visited with a group of close friends and all loved the villa so much. With such wonderful accommodation and perfect weather we found it difficult to wander far from the pool and terrace to explore the delights of the Cote D'Azur, however local trips to Cannes, Saint Paul and Grasse made us feel a little more like active tourists.
Thank you Anna and Bryan for making our stay in France so memorable. Your management of the booking process was impeccable and with Brigitte's help upon arrival we quickly felt at home in your beautiful Villa Clara.
Speaking on behalf of all of our little party we would highly recommend a holiday at Villa Clara.

Lovely villa; fantastic views; great location
Villa Clara is in the idyllic hilltop village of Saint Jeannet, which has the benefit of peacefulness and a lovely breeze, while still being close enough to the charms of St Paul de Vence, the buzz of Nice, and the beachs of Antibes of St Jean Cap Ferrat.
The villa itself is set back behind security gates and then looks out to both the sea and the mountains. Despite some pretty close neighbours, the garden and design gives a real sense of privacy.
There were four of us - two parents and two young children - and the house was perfect for us: very comfortable; very well-equipped; but not terrifyingly precious. We could easily have had friends (or a nanny) to stay with us in the garden studio. Equally, the main house had another bedroom that could have accommodated another two small children.
The pool was great for our needs and our children adored it, but probably not big enough for an adult looking to keep fit.
As important as the house itself was the kindness and helpfulness of the owners and the lady who looks after the house for them. Very approachable a friendly, always quick to respond, and keen to solve issues whenever possible.
We will certainly come back.

A real hidden gem, nestled in the picturesque village of St. Jeannett which has everything you need within a five minute walk (Butchers, Bakers, Small supermarket, restaurants etc). The villa is very well appointed with every amenity you could possibly want or desire! The views are absolutely stunning, so if you're after getting away from it all for a week then this is the place to go. The owners were so accommodating, allowing us to take our well behaved dogs with us, and we all enjoyed sitting by the pool admiring the well maintained, beautiful gardens and just relaxing in the French sunshine. We have made some very special memories during our stay and would return in a heartbeat!

Spectacular is the word that comes to mind. Close your eyes and envision yourself swimming in a beautiful built in pool and looking up and seeing the most beautiful hilltop. Now pour yourself a nice glass of rose from the region and walk out to the veranda - the blue sea of Mediterranean in the distance. Walk into town for a roasted chicken or some fresh fish for your lunch or dinner. There are wonderful restaurants with the friendliest people minutes away. I didn't want to leave this paradise. I even begged for one more week, but alas there was another booking. I traveled many miles to get here and it was well worth the trip and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Do you know the best part of this trip - it was the chance to be with my family in a way that has not been possible in a very long time. Thank you Anna for your hospitality from afar and brigitte with your warm welcome and Jean Jacques for you coming to get us in your taxi even though it was a holiday!

Very quiet and relaxing with great views
We have just returned from a lovely holiday in Villa Clara. The property is very comfortable and quiet. The weather was really great even in March so we had a few days just sitting by the pool reading. The village of St Jeannet is really sweet, and you can walk from the villa to various restaurants. If you are fit and like a walk, you could actually have a holiday here without a car. It is easy to walk down the hill to the supermarket (walk back up is quite steep but does you good!) and there are buses to Nice, Vence and a connecting bus to St Paul de Vence. Anna who owns the house is really lovely, and puts a lot of effort into making sure her holiday makers are looked after and get the most out of the experience. Brigitte who is on hand locally is also very kind and helpful. We are planning our next visit, and can't wait to come again!

Charming!
Our 8 night stay in Villa Clara was peaceful and relaxing! The owners are easy to work with. We were going to go to Paris a week after the terrorist attack. Anna was very gracious to transfer our lodgings to the Villa Clara.
Once we arrived in the hill village of St. Jeannet we drove though the village on a narrow street traveling back in time. The quaint village of St. Jeannet has the essentials that you would need if you didn't want to leave the village, a butcher, bakery and produce store. There are also restaurants and cafe with a great view.
Villa Clara is in a perfect place to explore the South of France. It takes about 1/2 hour from St. Jeannet to the 8 (highway). From there you are about 1/2 hour to Monaco or 2 hours to St. Topaz or Aux-e-Provance. We rented a car but there are 2 buses that leave from St. Jeannet. Villa Clara is in a secluded and quiet place. The solid wood door lead us into the entry way, then to the living room to the beautiful view of the French Rivera!! The living room, which is huge, has many charming details, the unexpected small window into the master bedroom, beautiful large wooden beams in the ceiling and a seating nook on each side of the wood burning fireplace to warm our toes or read a book. The library is quite extensive. The master bathroom has a large soaking tub! With a separate shower and water closet(toilet). The gourmet kitchen has the same view of the French Rivera as the adjoining patio. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you may need to cook. The appliances are new with the gas 5 burner stove taking center stage. I prepared our meals at the farmhouse long table while looking at the wonderful view. It was a pleasure to cook! The sweeping stairway takes you down to the laundry room and office (there is a printer and laptop, it was very convenient to print our boarding passes). Also there is 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The villa is conducive to indoor-outdoor living with the arched french doors in the living room and kitchen opening to a wrap around outdoor patio, where there is a pizza oven and charcoal bbq. On the lower terrace there is a pool with loungers, tables and a self contained-cottage (sleeps 2).
Villa Clara will be our Gold Standard for renting a holiday home. I fear we will sigh and say "Well it isn't Villa Clara but it will do." Villa Clara is a very charming place.

Best Vacation in Decades!
We have been renting vacation homes abroad since the late 1980's and our stay at Villa Clara was the best experience ever. The location is extraordinary: the village is a short walk away but the house and grounds are utterly private, and enjoy spectacular views of the mountains, the coast, and St. Paul de Vence. The house is very comfortable and well-equipped. All of the jewels of the Cote d'Azur are close by. Absolutely a first rate experience!

The villa was amazing !
The villa was even better than the description. It had absolutely everything you could need or want. The location was breathtaking with glorious views. The property was very clean and well maintained. we were met on arrival and shown round. I would recommend this property to family and friends. We had come form 6 days in Disneyland , so we "chilled out". walking into the village for our shopping and then relaxing.
We were a party of 7 and so had a large people carrier this was quite difficult to get through the village due to narrow streets but the villa was worth the effort.
many Thanks to Anna

Perfect holiday home, in a perfect location
Situated in the hilltop village of St Jeannet, Villa Clara is a wonderful home for a family vacation. The facilities are first class, a superb and fully equipped kitchen, excellent media facilities (hi speed wifi, satellite TV in all bedrooms and a laptop PC), good sized pool and a view that has to be experienced to fully appreciate. Anna's and Bryan's attention to detail is great, from their excellent guide to the Cote D'Azur, that is emailed before your holiday, to the remote assistance they provide whilst you are there, backed up by Brigitte locally.
St Jeannet is a great base for a holiday in the South of France, giving you the option of the coast or the mountains to explore and enjoy. The village itself is picturesque and is dominated by the Le Baou de St Jeanett, an 800m high rock that is striking, especially when view from the pool at Villa Clara. The village has an excellent restaurant (La Table des Baous), as well as a butcher/deli, general store and a superb boulangerie run by the charismatic Laurent.

A one-of-a-kind gem tucked away in Provence
After returning from an unforgettable stay, I'm still basking in the glow of what a fantastic 2 weeks my family enjoyed at Villa Clara, Saint Jeannet and all of the neighboring cities/countries we found ourselves exploring in between. From the minute we inquired about availability, Anna was incredibly responsive and helpful. She makes you feel like you're part of the family as she advises you on all the house and village have to offer. This theme continued throughout the journey and was demonstrated by the entire Villa Clara team (Brigitte, Jean Jacques). Anna even went as far as to arrange for a local artisan to have a welcome basket of provencal specialities waiting for our Mom upon arrival; she was extremely touched by the gesture. The reality of Villa Clara is even more picturesque than the listing images and the entire family enjoyed hikes up the towering Baou, morning strolls into the village for daily provisions including countless chocolate croissants from the Boulangerie and enjoyed becoming regulars at La Table des Baous. To experience the best of what the South of France has to offer while enjoying a peaceful enclave, there really is no other choice than Villa Clara and we fully intend to return!

Unforgettable and Magical Place
We just returned from a perfect stay at Villa Clara. Everything from the initial contact to the return of our security deposit went incredibly smoothly. The owner, Anna, is a model of efficiency and a fount of information. She responds to every query quickly and with much useful information. The villa is in picture-perfect Saint-Jeannet; an ancient perched village situated 20 minutes from Nice airport. The views from the house are splendid. You see the towns of Vence and St. Paul immediately below and Nice, Antibes, and the Mediterranean in the distance. Behind the house, visible from the pool deck, is the “Baou” which is an enormous, jagged rock that caps the mountain and is a famous center of rock climbing and hiking. The village boasts an excellent bistro, a couple of great bakeries, a wonderful Boulangerie, and a small grocery store. There is also a climbing store that sells equipment and maps and books of walks and climbs in the area. The villa is stocked with whatever you need to make your vacation memorable. It was sparkling clean when we arrived with comfortable beds, good water pressure, a lovely espresso machine, an honor cabinet containing delicious wine from a local vineyard, a dishwasher and washer/dryer, even a wood burning pizza oven. The house is solid and quiet and constructed so that the late night 20 something girls did not disturb the early rising 50 something parents (and vise versa). Mornings included a walk down the lane to “town” to buy croissants, perhaps stopping by the butcher to order a gorgeous rotisserie chicken, ratatouille, and mashed potatoes for later, and returning to the terrace, the view, and our homemade espresso. Evenings were equally romantic watching the sunset and the light change over the Mediterranean. Our most difficult conflicts were when to actually leave the villa and visit the incredible sights (Chagall! Matisse! Picasso! Nice! Antibes! St. Paul de Vence!) and whether to cook at home or dine in one of the superb nearby restaurants (We highly recommend Bistrot Gourmand Clovis in Tourrettes-sur-Loup). Although just outside Nice, you are in the middle of farming country (There is a local vineyard just down the hill). You awake to a symphony of birds and eau de fertilizer wafts by late at night (it is mostly outside and gone by morning). If you rent a car, we recommend a small one to navigate the narrow and curved driveway. Villa Clara is a magical place. We are already planning our return.

Super place to stay
Villa clara is in a lovely spot. A group of six of us visited and enjoyed every moment we were there. The kitchen and house are well kitted out. The local village is beautiful with some nice food shops and the views from the house are spectacular. If visiting I recommend taking walking boots as there are some great hiking trails out behind the village and some good climbing in the area.

A dream villa tucked away in a charming village!
Villa Clara has all the modern amenities you need with all the charm of a historic property to create a wonderful vacation experience. We spent every morning out on the terrace enjoying fresh baked pastries from one of the two bakeries in town and coffee brewed fresh with the luxury coffee maker at the villa. There was no rush to get out and explore when you have views of the Mediterranean like that! But we did get out and enjoy the beaches and nearby perched villages. We even enjoyed our days spent right in St. Jeannet, conversing with the butcher, grocer, baker, and restaurant employees. Everyone was so friendly and indulged me in my efforts to better my french. A special night was enjoyed at the restaurant "La Table des Baous."

Charming Rustic Luxury with Extraordinary View
This lovely villa was everything we hoped for and more. The town of Saint Jeannet is charming and truly a French Provincial experience. We did not want for anything at the Villa. The care takers were marvelous and welcoming and were willing to accommodate our every need. Though we never met the owners face to face they made it clear that our satisfaction at the villa was their number one priority. They really cared, were very communicative and we feel that we have made new "Kiwi" friends. The grounds are beautiful , the kitchen really well equipped and fun to cook in for guests and family. Wifi, television, dishwasher, laundry facilities all in excellent condition. The house is very comfortable but still manages to charm and maintains a rustic quality that my husband and young adult children really appreciated. The location is great for day excursions all over the Cote d'Azure and then we tucked into the villa for the evening and enjoyed feasting on local produce in this magnificent setting with spectacular view. Thank you to the Villa Clara team for providing us with such a special experience and cherished memories!
