Comfortable bed, beautiful location , very quiet, rooms are lovely ,
Staff friendly friendly
Bar is nice , all over always a pleasant stay
Just for feedback. Having stayed several times, no hook to easily hang coats on in room ,
fan for bathroom only able to switch off if stand on chair unless you are tall otherwise have to leave off as it doesn’t turn off after few mins
Would have eaten (have before) but restaurant not good value so ate off site.
Back stairwell is shocking , it really needs repairing, ( I rarely use lifts) I always use and is always that feeling of going from beautiful hotel to fawlty towers (just the stairwell) doesn’t detract from stay but just needs attention.

It was a lovely place; very quiet and peaceful.
We were there for some colder weather which was nice, though the bedding material retained heat so well that it would get hot even when outside the covers were still cold. Mattress type was extremely soft and plush (I typically prefer a more firm mattress, but it was still good).
The meals we got while here were delicious and the staff were exceptional. We had a wonderful stay.

The grounds are amazing! Very beautiful.
We thought we were staying in the main house instead they have a smaller building off to the side. It was noisy and room were smaller than a postage stamp. They have brick wall paper witch in photos makes you think it's old room. Little disappointed.

Building and gardens
TV in room did not work and was not fixed over course of 2 night stay. Group of eight people felt like a big issue at breakfast, service so poor we changed or dinner reservation and ate elsewhere in the evening. Celebrating a 70th birthday and had no champagne or Prosecco, and numerous other drinks not stocked. Overall staff not friendly.

The hotel was stunning on first appearance, but when booking please check your booked into the hotel and not the 1950s cell block. They call the annex the Hepburn block, the rooms are small and cramped and the bed pillows are made of very stiff foam really uncomfortable. Very disappointing and not the country house experience we were led to expect.
The hotel has a lovely rear terrace, the staff were welcoming but severely undertrained walking around with no idea what they are supposed to be doing. One barman for the whole of the hotel. A very large wedding which seemed to use all of the rest of the staff. Service was very slow with drinks and cocktails inconsistent and not a nice experience. The cleanliness of the bar was a little bit suspect. I never once saw the tables wiped or cleaned.
The main restaurant bar has a tiny menu, we were led to believe it was going to be a top class restaurant. It was more like a cheap bar meal, fish and chips the serving staff were rude and under trained first time students a very poor experience. Please eat somewhere else. What job title should

It looks nice on arrival and the reception staff when we arrived were really accommodating. Grounds are nice when clean
The dinner reservation was incorrect and when we were finally sat down and ordered the drinks did not arrive until after the dinner was bought to the table.
The rooms were uncomfortably hot and there was no air conditioning so we were unable to sleep. A fan was provided in the wardrobe, if you had looked around however this did nothing ti adjust the room temperature.
We went for breakfast in the morning and there was food still on the floor from the previous nights dinner service so no cleaning had been undertaken and all glasses and bottles were still on the terrace outside. Once we had finished breakfast (we had been seated for 30mins) we were asked to move to the terrace so they could reset the tables for other customers- no one else came through to the tables. Never have we been asked to leave a breakfast table, nor would we expect to in what proclaims to be a decent hotel particularly after 30 minutes.
We the went back to our rooms to leave and one was filled with flies as the window was open.
Upon check out they charged for drinks (we hadn’t used our full half board allowance) and split the bill without asking between our parties two rooms. This is not what I would expect from a hotel of what appears to be of a high standard from the website

Nice location and grounds
Extortionate pricing, I’ve had better stats at Travelodges

The staff were friendly
The bar and room service was very poor. Was told a number of times that a waiter or server would come to my table to serve me but I needed to go to the bar myself. No one answered the room service line so I had to call reception and when the order did arrive it was half correct.
The room was extremely stuffy and I would have expected the rooms to have aircon.

Amazing location however no amenities close by.
The shower could have been better.
4.1
garden, setting, basic facilities/room
Room was a bit noisy (boiler room?)
Room was not dark at night due to light coming under door and around curtains
Therefore did not sleep well
Breakfast was ok but

Everything, stunning location, friendly, attentive staff and exceptionally good value for money. Breakfast was delicious and the beds are very comfy.
Nothing. My pillow preference is slightly softer and less firm though.

Picked-up a last-minute "weekend getaway" price, so went with open mind. Should have had higher expectations, because it was great. Deer on the stately entrance way, lovely grounds, nice modernised rooms.
The park it's in has made paths, good for preventing erosion but also means you can walk in the English weather without wading through a quagmire.
4.1
leaving the premises on sunday morning
service was an utter joke, staff totally incapable of providing assistance, food sub-par, the rooms that we were originally put in were laughably small and not clean (these rooms weren't even mentioned on the website, much less with a picture)
4.1
where it was situated very quiet
The fact we had to wait nearly an hour and a half after ordering dinner for it to turn up

The staff were amazing, very friendly, helpful and compassionate.. I suffer with anxiety and the staff were very understanding when booking in and out.
The room was clean, modern and warm.
The bathroom was large, clean, modern and warm with a bath and shower. Beautiful bed linen and blanket.
A nice breakfast with a good vegetarian option.
* The food was nice (not fantastic) but overpriced.
The food was not exceptional and expensive for what it is.
4.1
beautiful in beautiful grounds. very clean and very luxurious.
we were in a disabled room, didn’t like the bathroom but was fine for 1 night.
4.1
beautiful building and communal areas
Rooms were not clean! Dirty teapots (with used tea bags), old sweets on carpet, mud on chair, no clean towels, bed not changed, water half drank.
room was also freezing cold.
4.1
Beautiful surroundings and grounds. Lovely hotel.
The room was smaller than expected
4.1
location and the style of the property were great, modern rooms but retained character in main areas
all good
