About this house rental
This very private, , 2900 square foot, two-story home is located on 150 feet of golden sand like- private beach (no public access nearby). The curving palm lined beach is the most beautiful beach I have seen. In my view---none better.
The house has many high quality features from granite counters, beamed great room, huge master bedroom, solid hickory cabinets, beautiful large mouldings, stainless steel appliances, electric range, plank and tile flooring, to even a wood burning fireplace for a cool night.
There are breathtaking ocean views from large windows in Every room. Rare is the day when you cannot spot turtles from the house and covered lanai which is 10 feet from this gorgeous beach. Here the song of the surf is yours. Watch the sun sink into the sea while relaxing with a drink.
Easy stairs to beach .
I hope you will come and stay in my beautiful beach house.

We had a wonderful time during our stay in Haleiwa. Upon arrival to the house the garage code did not work so we entered through the front which had a key in the lockbox. The front stairs are very steep and the handrails are basically not much help as they wobble as you hold onto them. The house is very dated. Yet it does have all the necessary items to make things work. Kitchen was fully equipped and towels and bedding were in abundance which was nice. The outside deck is very weathered and my father actually fell through a portion when taking a photo of the sunset. Very scary needless to say he was ok. The owner responded quickly by text and said he would have someone come to fix it but that never happened. Sliding doors did not lock just by a wooden stick and overall felt itchy the entire time we were there. Made the most of it but definitely feel the owner need to make some serious upgrades. The view is amazing and location is the best part of our stay.

Beautiful location, beach right outside the back door. House is spacious and well equipped. Very comfortable. Road noise is there, but was not bothersome for us and didn’t take away from the overall great experience we had. Would definitely stay here again.

The house proved to be comfortable and convenient once we learned how to maximize the outside airflow through the property. As noted in other reviews, it took a few days to acclimate with no AC and get used to the surf noise and road noise, which actually proved to be quite soothing in the end. We found the beach area at the house to be our best snorkeling and swam with turtles every day. When we read this in a review we were skeptical, but we did swim with turtles every day. The kitchen is well equipped and the showers had good pressure. We utilize the washing machine and the dishwasher without issue. We found the outside shower and spray hoses very convenient to get the sand off after being in the water. In all our stay was thoroughly enjoyable.

Once again, we fully enjoyed our time at this property! This is our second time back and we definitely plan on coming more in the future. It is a beautiful location, great accommodations, and Jim and his wife Lynn are easy to get a hold of and a pleasure!

We stayed here 10 years ago but I didn’t remember how noisy it is because of the traffic one side and the ocean waves on other. There is no air conditioning, fans worked reasonably well but because of noise at night we had to shut some windows to sleep so circulation and natural cooling limited. One slider had no screen and if we used the netting, bugs got in. There is no gas grill and some of the outside patio furniture, sliders and decking are worn. The WiFi was not working but owner was responsive and it was fixed the first day of our stay. The house is close by car to some nice beaches and has close up views of the reef and ocean. It is difficult to swim at the small beach right behind the house due to rocks and surf but other nice beaches can be driven to.

We live on Oahu and found this house to be an enjoyable place for a staycation. The beach was right behind the house and was perfect for my grandsons to fish from the shore and for diving. Beach was also good for shell collectors. We cooked many meals here and even used the charcoal grill. We had a wonderful time here and plan to use this place again for another family staycation.

Enjoyed the house. Master bedroom was really nice great views from all bedrooms. I only wish there had been a broom that we could use to sweep as the vacuum cleaner was plugged up. There wasn’t really any instructions on what we needed to do before we left we cleaned out everything in the refrigerator that was perishable. We took the trash out close to the street like we were asked to do whoever had stayed there before did not take the trash out. There was a broken piece on the deck Mr Hass had emailed me and said someone would be there over the weekend to fix it, but they never showed up and he was aware they had not showed up. Other than that I would recommend this house and would definitely stay there again

Love the vibe of the north shore! Location was great. House is beautiful but could use some TLC. Amazing view, unfortunately the cleanliness of the windows was less then satisfactory. Large deck and yard gave a wonderful area to gather and relax in the evening and watch the Amazing sunset.

This property is not worth the money. There are no window coverings on the water side in any of the bedrooms. Most of the lights did not work, fecis was found in the bathroom drawers, outdoor furniture was filthy and not maintained. The owner uses the property as a dump zone for anything he doesn't want. You have to bob and weave through the garage past the cars and garbage he has left there. This property was absolutely filthy and should be pulled from any rental site until proper repair and maintenance is done

Plenty of room for 10 of us, everything we needed and so enjoyable. Being right on the beach was great! We seen Dolphins, Monk Seals, many turtles, snorkeling was good with numerous fish. Enjoyed watching surfers. Beach was uncrowded, mostly had it to ourselves. Wish there would have been air conditioning options but overall a wonderful experience.

This house is located between Haleiwa and Weimea Bay on a stretch of Oahu’s world famous North Shore. The location is absolutely astounding—right on the beach. Step down 5 steps and walk the sand! We watched turtles come ashore to bask, whales breaching, and surfers and paddle boarders riding big North Shore waves. The grandkids built sand castles and the adults enjoyed walking the beach and hearing the pounding surf. Fantastic! That said, the house itself suffers from its location in the salty air. While the 3000 sq ft on 2 levels is plenty of space for 6, everything shows signs of wear and tear from the effects of the ocean air. Some electrical outlets are seriously rusted, the sliding doors do not lock (but are secured by dowels in the slide tracks), the garage is filled with two vehicles and lots of junk so parking is outside on the concrete pad, the 2 baths are split between floors: one shower/tub combo upstairs and one shower only downstairs. All 3 bedrooms are upstairs. The stairs have a heavily worn carpet strip and all indoor & outdoor furniture is well used. The Kamehameha Hwy is located ~25 ft from the front of the house. Heavily traveled day and night, it adds to the noise level of the surf. But the noise quickly became routine. There is a manually operated sliding gate that must be opened/closed every time you enter/exit. Tricky since the road is so close. Although the property needs a good bit of maintenance, its location on the island is nearly unbeatable!

Property is a perfect location. Amenities are excellent, beautiful furniture. Sunset views were stellar from upstairs balcony. Jim was always available if necessary. Would stay again.

We were a group of 4 adults, myself and my wife, my daughter and one of my sisters. This place has an outstanding location on the beach. I would say there are few houses right on the beach as this one was. I will list some of the notable pluses and minuses:
The view from the house onto the water is breathtaking. As beautiful as the beach is, it is difficult to walk on, between the loose sand and the steep angle. The current is very strong in front of the house, we did not go past waist deep. The waves are very strong (maybe because it was winter?)
The house is on a relatively thin piece of land between the road and the beach. You have to plan your drive into the house, you need to be heading south (toward Haleiwa) as the driveway before the gate is very small, and your vehicle will stick out on the road if you turn left into driveway. Lots of traffic on the road, especially about 3pm.
The dishwasher was broken for our entire week. I guess I should have figured that out as soon as I saw the dish drainer on the counter.
The noise from the ocean waves is very loud. It took a little bit to get used to that. With no AC, all the windows have to be open. All 3 bedrooms a have a great view of the ocean.
Lighting - I understand that being right on the ocean wreaks havoc on electrical connections, switches and light fixtures. Several of the lighting fixtures did not work, as well as some of the lighting in the refrig. Owner needs to check all lighting

Everyone should stay at this beautiful home on the North Shore! The location is amazing & the views breathtaking! We truly loved it! We stayed Dec. 5-13, 2023. Two 20 yr olds, two 30 yr olds & two 50 yr olds. Although the waves were too large to swim right in front of the house, there’s a cove-3 min walk on the beach & is the perfect place to swim! We watched surfers every morning from our bed! Every window has a view. Cooking meals was helpful. We stocked up at Costco & Walmart. We did a fishing charter & had fresh tuna & mahi all week. Glad we did that on day two! I’d rather spend my money on privacy instead of resorts. So if you’re like me, I highly recommend this home. Kids ubered to Honolulu-only 30 mins. There is no A/C. Weather was averaging 80’s & the humidity was high we closed the windows each morning before we left & the fans helped keep it comfortable. The home does show signs of wear as expected. I was surprised about the cleaning fee. Someone needs to put in some more elbow grease because the walls, inside the cabinets, light fixtures definitely need scrubbing. A little TLC would make this home shine but LOCATION!! We made it ours for the week & couldn’t have been happier! Tip: Get some ant traps-you’re staying right on the beach & shouldn’t be surprised. Once we put some out they all disappeared overnight! Also no hot tub but he told me. Jim was easy to contact & responsive. Thank you. My 50th in the 50th state was INCREDIBLE!!!

Great location with plenty of space for a larger group and direct access to the beach!

This house needs some TLC but the North Shore location is amazing.
What you should know about the home before staying!
It was LOUD!. The road noise and the ocean it was overwhelming we all had to sleep with earplugs.
NO A/C - when we first arrived the house was shut up and they had plugged in some awful crusty air fresheners so it was stagnant, had a nauseating smell. Rusty fans helped a little.
Dirty! The kitchen was filthy. Cabinets filled old food/ants. Floors dusty/bugs in corners, and salty/sticky film on everything Outside had garbage left in the side yard - water bottles, flip flops/wet clothing. Rusty home decor.
It is right off the highway. Parking was was a bit scary at first.
The ocean current near house is dangerous, but 150 yards down the beach was a small area protected by rocks that was swimmable in lower tides.
Bedrooms are oddly disproportionate in size master is huge. The furniture was all worn/sunken, and all the chairs in the house had lost all the springs and hard to be comfortable. Plastic deck deck chairs were best seats
Host responded w/ ?'s about house questions about improving the stay were just ignored. The entry "house rules" email was a little comical when it threatened to make us pay for paint on walls if we were not careful with our suitcases, when the walls were clearly scuffed, and dingy/sticky with thick layer of dirt on the floorboards.
Overall -Disappointment. I don't expect fancy, but it was dirty and uncomfortable.

GREAT LOCATION, BEAUTIFUL HOUSE

This property is in the most perfect location, the home needs some love. The sliding doors and front door of the home are broken and not secure. There are no window coverings at all on the back of the house so it gets very hot. The electric outlets are rusted and dangerous to use. Some dont have covers at all. There was a hole in the back wooden patio. No warnings of the hole and my son fell threw it and scraped
/cut his leg up. Had to run for first aid. Shared info with owner, he apologized but my son missed out on 2 days of fun. His legs were cut and painful to go in water. The windows upstairs were missing screens and thankfully we dont have little ones but without screens, we had lots of bugs. Couldnt close windows because it would get too hot. No ac, just fans everywhere. But becareful plugging them in due to the rusty outlets. The toilet seat upstairs was broken. The kitchen needs to be deeply scrubbed. There is a grease film on everything. Again, the location of the home was the best. The island itself, was marvelous.

Over, a nice property and great location.

This house on the North Shore is amazing. We had a great time, Jim was a breeze to deal with. Would recommend. The home doesn’t have AC, which honestly being from Alabama was worrisome. The first day was a little slow to get comfortable with the temps, I’d say due to the windows being closed. Although there is a covered porch with plenty of chairs for everyone to sit around, and it was very comfortable all day long. After the sun went down the temperature dropped to around 70, so with the wind it was plenty chilly to sleep. As for beach access, you couldn’t get better. With about a 6-7 minute drive to Haleiwa, it’s a perfect location. There is some
road noise as you are sleeping next to the highway, but coupled with the waves at the front of the house, it’s not that big a deal. Would stay again!

Vintage cozy charm and a great centralized location. Great deck and lots of patio furniture. The only downside was no A/C but most homes don’t have it so we kept all the windows open for fresh ocean air. We loved seeing surfers and an occasional turtle just outside. The outdoor shower was a huge plus. Lots of goggles, boogie boards and beach stuff in the garage. Communication with the host was great.

The location of this house cannot be beat, right on the beach on the Northshore. We enjoyed walking on the beach out front, hanging out in the sheltered bay to the right of the house, swimming at Wimea Bay (a 5 min drive), and exploring Haliewa.
This is an older house that is battling beach erosion, with older furnishings. However it is clean, some parts updated (kitchen, bathrooms), has a well stocked kitchen and other amenities (e.g. laundry, beach towels, boogie boards, snorkeling gear). When we arrived there was a very strong, nausea and headache inducing sweet, pungent smell as there were 9+ Air Wicks plugged in. Once unplugged and the smell dissipated, it much more pleasant. There is no AC, but the abundance of fans and fresh ocean air offset that. Not sure how it would be in the height of summer.
As other reviewers have indicated, it is a challenge to get in and out of the property when there is traffic on the road outside, however we quickly figured out how to manged that. Yes, there is a lot of traffic on the road that starts early and can choke the road. However, we balanced that between having the beach/ocean right there, hearing the waves, seeing the surfers and being able to get where we wanted to quickly.
This is not a resort. However, for the location, space and value it can't be beat!

The house was advertised as having a working oven and stove. For our group of 8 we bought $1200 worth of food for the week with every intention of not spending money on eating out. On the morning of the second day of our stay we realized the gas stove and oven were out of gas. The owner then instructed me to call the gas company and order more gas for the house. I waited on hold with the gas company for 30 mins for them to tell me the owner would have to call and we couldn’t get gas for at least 2 weeks. The owner refused to call. When I asked the owner to call me to discuss this he messaged back rudely and told me to use the charcoal grill. We were unable to cook at least half of the food we had bought because of the gas issue. The house for 10 was also only equipped with 3 forks. Lastly, a man showed up to the house unannounced and entered the the garage while we were there. When approached he said he was the property manager and that he was checking the lights. He said that he would come back with gas for us the next day and had not been in communication with the owner about this issue. He never showed back up so we aren’t sure if he was really the property manager or a random person opening the garage.

This house was AMAZING! Mom, dad, boyfriend and myself stayed here very comfortably. As many have said the view is INCREDIBLE, ocean sounds to lull you to sleep every night. There are steps from the driveway to the semi- private ocean. A few blocks away on either direction are very popular public beaches of preferred. The house has everything you will need to be comfy staying home, or you are minutes away from Haliewa, the best town on the North Shore!

What a place right on the ocean with turtles and a reef. Large and spacious and all the amenities that are needed

You cant get any closer to the beach! It had everything we needed. Beach towels, body boards, even a surf board if you know how to use it. Great location to several beaches, town and the bus stop. I highly recommend the Luau a couple miles down the road also.

The house really is best for related adults and families with kids, who don’t mind sharing beds, if not couples. Location was excellent and overall it was nice. There are some things that I would provide, like Japanese screening, for more privacy.
I had different expectations, the owner was able to accommodate most of it.

We had a wonderful family vacation! The North Shore location was perfect! The house was nice but needs some TLC! Screens and upstairs rugs need to be be replaced and some other minor repairs. Futon beds wouldn’t fold down but we made it work. We purchased some fans because it got super hot especially when we went to bed. You slowly get used to it! Traffic is crazy on the highway but the noise gets washed out by the beautiful ocean sound.
We just loved waking up on the beach! It’s literally 5 steps down! Kids spent most of their time in the ocean! We even swam with the turtles! Beautiful sunrises and sunsets! Neighbors were all friendly! We were 5 minutes to Haleiwa which is the cutest town ever! Great shops and restaurants!
All in all we had an excellent vacation.

Aloha, First time staying on the north shore and it was awesome to stay in a beach front house that puts you right in the Beauty of God's creation. The House is amazing! the Lani's are one of the family favorite places to hang out from sunrise to sunset. The house could use alot of updating due to the elements and AC would be very much welcomed but the views ,location and sounds of the waves made up for any inconveniences my family and I would stay at the property again Thanks Jim for sharing your awesome property. Mahalo

Our group very much enjoyed staying at this house. Great beachfront house and location on the North Shore for the money. Would maybe think about getting room air conditioners, especially in smaller bedrooms. It was a little tough at times, especially at night trying to sleep with no AC. However, when the sea breezes come into the house, it’s very exhilarating. Would definitely stay again and recommend. Aloha and mahalo!!

Great property on main road. Sunsets and beach access made up for traffic in front of the house. Sea breezes were cool enough to keep the house comfortable without air conditioning. A great time was had by all! we plan to visit again!!
