We had the best vacation ever. Gaetano was really helpful and a great host. The villa is amazing! Beautiful Beach is in front of the villa. Saint Andreas cliff hike overlooking the ocean is to the right and Rocca Vechio swimming hole is to the left walking distance. Both amazing views. The beach is crystal clear water. Grocery store and restaurants across the street. We are definitely going back. Very romantic as well. A vacation I will never forget. The local people are super nice also.

My friends and I spent a very good week in the villa ! Prior to our arrival I had a very good contact with Gaetano by emails. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived, we parked 2 cars safely inside. Everything was OK then : the location close to the "city center" (small shops, restaurants, bars) and to the beach (crowdy in summer), the villa is clean, big, but hot due to the weather (each bedroom has a little air conditionner). I have to say it's a bit loudy, the villa is surrounded by bars. We enjoyed the barbecue in the garden and playing tennis (is it possible to renew the tennis court ?). We were happy to discover the pugliese, very nice place.

We spent one week in this house, and enjoyed a lot our trip there: the house was beautiful, so close to the beach, and we even had a tennis game in the garden!
A good point is that the house is very calm, and not far from nice cities of Salento.
The guests were very nice, Gaetano even went to Lecce to bring back the phone my mother has forgotten in a restaurant some days before!

We are just back from a sunny and warm November week at Villa Cappello. We were amazed at the size of the villa and the kind of secret garden feel of the garden. Our four children, age 10-5, loved it, and so did we.
The villa is really on the beach and we brought our morning coffees to the beach and sat and watched the children playing and swimming. Such a treat when from a dark, cold Nordic country.
The interior of the villa is great. It has personality, style and charm, and is nothing like the cheap vacation complex that one can find in the Mediterranean. It's not new but cool.
The town itself was kind of empty as it was off season. But there were two small groceries across the street that were open, and the sweet and ice cream shop Dentoni's were open( and packed) on weekends.
The hotel bar and restaurant is open everyday, which is a short walk from the villa.
There are many places to visit in the surrounding and we managed to go to Lecce and Otranto, but the kids preferred staying at home or being at the beach.
We could recommend walk to the small beach at Torre Sant'Andrea. The walk(or run) is beautiful and so is the Sant'Andrea beach.
Gaetano and Angiola welcomed us upon arrival with a home made lasagna. They helped us quickly and gladly whenever needed, but never in an intruding way.
I would gladly go back, but with more friends- the house is huge!

This Villa was perfect for our family vaction in October - with the number of bedrooms available - even a large family does not need to make any compromises.
The beach is only a few steps away from the back door and ideal for children - at that time of the year the weather was still very nice (the sea was fairly warm) and we had the beach almost for ourselfes. The the village Torre dell' Orso is nice, clean and calm - at least in October when we where there - and ideal to make some sightseeing trips for example to Lecce, Otranto and Gallipoli...

Dear Cappello Family,
Thank you so much for a wonderful and very memorable stay in your villa “Chalet Chapeau” in May and June 2012. It was perfect for us as we were travelling with two families with little children. Each family had a private zone for its own with a huge communal terrace and garden to play and enjoy the Salento sun. Having both the village of Torre dell´Orso with its shops and restaurants and the beach with its cristal clear water and real “azzurro” so close by the villa was a real treat. We found the villa spotlessly clean and equipped with everything needed. If time permits, we will definitely come back one day. Thank you once again so much!
