While the pool is beautiful, the water was cold in August and there is no heater or solar cover so it was not used. The house was not clean upon arrival. The refrigerator had a black sticky substance all over the bottom of it and the shelves were falling apart. The owners food took up all of the space in the fridge so we had to empty it in order to use it. The downstairs bathroom was dirty and cluttered with very old dirty bath mats. The first thing we did was go buy a broom and dustpan.
The upstairs deck was rotted and dangerous and we had to keep the children away from it.We paid for the cleaning fee. The owner verbally told me to strip the beds when we left and leave dirty linens in a pile. However, we tried to help by throwing sheets in the washer, and even threw in a second load of laundry while the first was drying . She then complained that we did that . SHE was the cleaning service and resented having to clean her house in spite of us paying for a cleaning service. Was she planning to wash the sheets between renters?
In addition, we left two items behind that she agreed to send to us (we would pay postage)and we have yet to receive them in spite of calling several times. I even asked her to leave them outside the door of the house and I would have my brother pick them up. She has not done that either--it has been since August 2015 and this is now April 2016.
We have rented for many years from other homeowners and there was never a complaint from us or them. Be wary of this rental.
