Everything, jacuzzi was a bonus with heated fire
Pillows were uncomfortable, upgrade? Sheets on roof need securing, had a lot of wind and couldn’t not sleep due to thinking the roof would come off.

Cellar1947 is a beautifully designed architectural masterpiece with every detail and comfort you can hope for, Braam’s friendlyness and helfulness made us feel welcome and what a joy that we were able to take our 2 fur babies with us!! we also had dinner at the restaurant on the premises and what a delight, every plate delicious and beautiful. We will most definitely return.
nothing, we had a wonderful stay

Every part of this stay was exceptional. We fell in love with the farm, the view, the surroundings, and with Robertson. We are definitely coming back very soon!

Architecturally beautiful building & beautiful setting.

Architecturally stunning property located on the outskirts of Robertson together with one other similar property and the host's new Events Venue, Beuld. Spacious accommodation, both internally and externally, with a lovely outlook of the surrounding mountain ranges. Amazing wine cellar within the property and a hot tub beyond the front patio: neither used due to excessive temperatures in Robertson (33C +) whilst we were there. Lovely warm welcome from Nadia on arrival, followed by a visit from the host Braam. Grounds clearly well tended and nice to see Springbok and the two alpacas in the grounds.
The upstairs bedroom is on the mezzanine with no air-con, so could be uncomfortable when it's really hot. If you're a keen cook you might struggle if catering for more than couple of nights due to a lack of pans (two tiny saucepans and one small omelette pan). Kitchen could have used a bit more of a clean and replacement of chipped mugs. Bathroom needs improved lighting: spouse complained he couldn't see to shave properly, and as the bathroom window has no covering on it seeing grounds staff pass by on the access road was a bit of a shock (probably more for them than us!!).

Unfortunately the back up power supply at Cellar1947 gave issues soon after we arrived, but the hosts made such a great plan and we ended up staying at Cellar1980 on the same property, which was fully off the grid and very well equipped. Therefore, it is difficult to rate Cellar1947 as we didn’t actually stay in that unit. Thank you to the hosts for making a plan as we completely understand that things malfunction sometimes!
It is important to note that the main loft bedroom at Cellar1947 does not have aircon and only has a fan. Even though we were there for a brief time, I do think that this would have been extremely hot, had we stayed longer in this unit, considering the temperatures in Robertson go up to the high 30s in summer and hot air rises.

Loved the originality of the place. It used to be a wine Cellar. It was renovated in 2018 and you can find old objects in the house such a the oak bottom of the wine barrel converted into the outside table. Beautiful location and quite surrounding. When entering the property we were greated by springboks and a couple of alpagas. Beautiful view from the mezzanine bedroom. The downstairs bedroom has airconditioning.
It was very hot in the mezzanine bedroom. We opened the windows for fresh air but don't forget to bring mosquito repellents. There are no curtains so I would recommend to take eye covers to avoid being awake at 5am.

Absolutely amazing property with everything that you need, actually larger than I thought, and the hosts were super gracious, the cellar downstairs was definitely the cherry on top, you could literally host a wine tasting session with friends, definitely coming back.

The unit is superb and has a lovely history. Great heated plunge pool and outdoor area. Although we left after 1 night the owner gave us a full refund for the 3 nights we had booked. Very grateful for that.
The unit used to be a wine cellar and has an overpowering and unpleasant smell. The kitchen utensils were dirty.

Amazing location and fantastic architecture. Very romantic place for a couples get-away.
A bottle of water in the fridge would be a nice touch!

We loved everything about our stay, we booked both units, we just had a small complaint about the shower water being as bit cold, but this did not take away from anything!!

The house was exceptional. We had everything we needed and didn’t need for anything. The property is well kept and close to some sites around Robertson.
